Pokemon Horizons ep. 74/75 talk
This will be a quick talk regarding these episodes, so there won't be a lot, but still, this might contain spoilers so if you don't want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ
Does anyone else feel underwhelmed by the 'revelation' that Lucius is related to Liko and her grandmother? I think many of us can agree that this was rather obvious. Honestly, it would've been a bigger surprise if it turned out Lucius wasn't related to them.
It did seem fitting for Liko to officially catch Terapagos. I mean, Liko was honestly the only real choice for Terapagos.
But I will say, with the possibility of Gibeon being over 100 years old, it makes me doubt that Amethio is truly Gibeon's grandson, since too me, it seems too convenient that after 100 years, he had a son and grandson relatively recently. And I guess I just doubt that he would ever have a family, he doesn't seem like the type.
For all we know, that could not even be Gibeon at all, just some kind of illusion with Gibeon's face.
Is Amethio a distant descendant? Or is he older than he appears similar to Gibeon, or is he even related to Gibeon at all?
Personally, I lean more towards the last theory. I believe that Gibeon isn't actually related to Amethio, but took him in and raised him, calling him family while treating him as little more than a pawn or grunt, and has no real familial connection or love for Amethio.
And I also theorize Spinel and Chalce will try to betray Gibeon, but I also think they will underestimate Gibeon and that will be their downfall.
This was meant to be a quick talk that evolved into a theory.

What Why on earth is Terapagos?
I have noticed some similarities between Terapagos and other crystal pokémon that have connections to space. In this post I'll elaborate these connections and explain why it may be extraterrestrial and a possible reason that it came to earth.
Similarities
Terapagos has an "inactive form", where it is nothing more than a crystal. If it has energy and the crystal is not stuck somewhere, then it is able to make its body take form, to restore its physical body. A crystal core from where the body comes from is a thing in common for three other pokémon that have connection to space:
"As long as its red core remains, it can regenerate its body instantly, even if it's torn apart." (Staryu's Black 2 & White 2 Pokédex entry)
"Its unusual body shape, reminiscent of abstract art, led local people to spread rumors that this Pokémon may be an invader from outer space.", (Starmie's Moon Pokédex entry) "Its sparkling core is called “the gem of the sea.” This core can be made into high-priced accessories that are traded in secret." (Starmie's Ultra Sun Pokédex entry) "Its core shines in many colors and sends radio signals into space to communicate with something." (Starmie's Black 2 & White 2 Pokédex entry)
"The DNA of a space virus underwent a sudden mutation upon exposure to a laser beam and resulted in Deoxys. The crystalline organ on this Pokémon's chest appears to be its brain." (Deoxy's Ruby Pokédex entry). In the seventh movie, Deoxys as shown to need energy and break free from the meteorite in order to take form
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If the biological similarities are not enough, Starmie, Deoxys and Terapagos all can learn Meteor Beam. According to Bulbapedia, "Meteor Beam is learned by most extraterrestrial Pokémon"
Speculation part:
I believe that the crater where Terapagos is found may have been made by the collision of a meteor. Coincidence?
Tumblr media
Let's take a look at the ability "Teraform Zero", that clears all weather and terrain effects. I believe Terapagos might have been sent to Earth to "teraform" it. Not "terraform", as in to make a planet be enough like Earth (Terra) so we could inhabit it, but the act of transforming a planet into Tera crystals. To make our world a crystal world ideal for the extraterrestrial crystal pokémon — and maybe other crystal beings?
Tumblr media
The reason why Lucius hasn't returned is because he turned into crystal.

I don't think you understand how DESPERATE I am for a good pokemon series! Like the plot is interesting, I love the characters, and it's nice being able to see the world away from the gym challenge!
At the time of typing this, I haven't finished the episode, BUT OMG, I LOVE IT SO FAR.
Amethio is definitely my favorite character, and by episode 3, I was already theorizing about him and what the Explorers were. Apparently, he's still a teenager, and I find this part super interesting. Ik 10 year Olds travel the world in pokemon, but we're seeing Amethio working for a large and probably secret organization with a creepy ass boss dude (who's giving Belos vibes), and needing to steal a mysterious pendant. There is DEFINITELY room for theorizing there!
One thing I find interesting is how calm and collected he is, but then we just see hints of his true emotions. In episode 3, he was getting really annoyed when Friede wasn't taking hum seriously, and in episode 5 he was getting annoyed when Friede wasn't paying attention to him. And in episode 6, he punched a wall when he got replaced on his mission. Probably some trainer professionalism in there, but I still think it's interesting. (Also, Gibbeon says that it's not like Amethio to fail missions. Maybe he was just frustrated that this was taking so long?)
What I like about his teammates is the fact that they stuck by him even after he was told to leave the mission, so it's nice seeing that they have some sort of relationship away from their job.
I wanna talk about more, but I'm too excited and can't think straight rn. But I have MAJOR questions on Spinel! Who is he? Does he have any history with Amethio? Why is he apart of the searchers? He looks super cool, and I can't wait until we can officially meet him!
(Also the anime showing Sprigatito and Fuecoco's abilities, which I love, and why it's there)

If Director Crave is Amethio's father, then who's Amethio's mother?? Like we have to see the woman who gave birth to him! Or maybe she's dead. That might explain why their relationship is so strained, she died while giving birth to Amethio or something and Crave secretly blames him. And Crave still keeps his wedding ring to remind him of her or he just got remarried. Or she might actually still be alive and happily married to Crave.

Theory on Terapagos and the true natrue of Tera crystals
So I played the Teal mask a while ago and I really enjoyed It. There is a lot to talk about regarding the characters and the story. I cannot wait until the Indigo Disc comes out! Now, the theory. So after playing the DLC and thinking about the lore within It, I had a realization and a lot of pieces would fit together if It is true. I am gonna put this post into sections to detail the evidence before I write down the conclusion. Spolier warning for Scarlet and Violet, the Teal mask DLC and The Pokemon Horizons anime. None of the game play images are my own.
Section 1: The Crystal Pool.
Tumblr media
The crystal pool is such a tease for things to come and I would be surprised If It didn't have any importance in the Indigo Disc. The intresting points about the Crystal pool is that the crystals grew in the pool after being "brought" there. It sounds to me that someone (likely Ogerpons old trainer/gaurdian) brought the crystals and some of It got into the pool and grew from there. The crystal seems almost alive in a sense, like It's just a extension of Terapagos. But the real intresting thing is what the sign next to the pool says and by extension, Carmine in the story. (Couldn't find any footage of It specifically)
Tumblr media
When you interact with the sign, It says that there is a rumor that one can see the spirits of the departed within the pool. That is interesting and I doubt It's just flavor text, considering Carmine mentions It too.
But what significance does this have? Well within the games It's unclear, but I think the Horizons anime might be hinting at something important to do with this.
Section 2: Pokemon Horizons, Terapagos.
Tumblr media
Terapagos plays an important role in the Horizions anime series. Now I haven't seen the series myself, so I might get facts wrong.
From what I understand is that there is a story arc about these Ancient poke balls.
Tumblr media
Now the only way to open them as I understand is by using terapagos powers, but that's not what interested me. No what got me curious is this.
Tumblr media
So in episode 23, the main group find a Galarian Molters within one of the ancient pokeballs. After they battle It, Terapagos shows the group a vision of what seems to be Moltres old trainer. Now I admit, I don't have a full context on how It works and what connection terapagos actually have to this trainer. But I find Terapagos ability to show visions from people who seems to have passed away interesting. Either terapagos met this person in the past or It made the vision in some other way.
So here is my theory:
Terapagos has power over memory and so do the tera crystals!
Think about It, If terapagos had power over memory and create visions based on peoples memories, then a lot of things would make sense.
AI Sada and Turo explain that they have the original professors memories, and that no person could make a advanced AI without the tera crystals. A important question is this, How? How do you transfer/convert your own memories into code? Well, if the tera crystals can store memories within them, then It would be possible. The risk could be the fact that the persons memories gets blurry, fragmented, warped or at worst erased.
This could possibly explain why Sada and Turos mental state became one of obsession. It could be that being around high concentrations of tera energy for a long time causes parts of the mind to deteriorate: so instead of terapagos manipulating Sada or Turo, It's just a unfortunate side effect of the Tera energy It creates.
Terapagos having memory powers could also explain the Crystal Pool. The crystals are reacting to the people around It and is showing them visions based on their own memories: the result being what seems to be ghosts of the departed.
Now with that in mind: What does this mean for the Lousy three? What about Ogerpon
Section 3: The Loyal/Lousy three and Ogerpon
Tumblr media
Now the Loyal three is a bit of a curve ball in this, considering the fact that they just got brought back to life; Full on necromancy. Or is It?
Now Kieran punched the monument while holding the teal mask and shortly after, the loyal three were resurrected. Now this could be because of a pokemon we haven't seen yet, seeing as It's very much hinted at that the loyal three have a boss. So this boss and their power could be behind this. But I believe the Teal mask is a important piece in this.
Tumblr media
The Teal mask was made with Tera crystals and Ogerpon had that mask on her when she killed the loyal three. So If my idea of the Tera crystals storing memories is correct, then the crystals within the mask might have reacted to the monument and manifested the memories of the loyal three. In that case, they weren't traditionally brought back to life, but instead got recreated based on the what was stored in the crystal. In other words: The loyal 3 were recreated based on Ogerpons memory of them! (Or at least the information stored in the crystal).
The reason the crystal reacted in this case could be because the mask was were the loyal 3's graves were, so the crystals reacted to the location and activated (with the help of Kierans punch and/or the loyal 3s boss).
Another point considering Ogerpons mask is her Boss fight.
Tumblr media
Ogerpon in the fight switches mask with each phase of the fight and the text for each highlights that she is getting strength from her memories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It makes me think that It what Tera energy really is, It's memories from either the past, present of maybe even future (If terapagos exists outside of regular time normally) in crystal form.
Crystals that can then either manifest those memories into strength or into full fledged beings. This theory could work both with the Time Travel and the Dream theory
The true time travel idea would be that the paradox pokemon did exist in the past and future, and that Sada and Turos time machine just made the crystals recreate the pokemon based on the stored information.
If the dream theory is true, then the pokemon could be created from memories, just incorrect ones. The human mind isn't infallible and If Heath saw paradox pokemon, It could either be that the crystals activated for unkown reasons; or that the crystals created paradox pokemon based on what Heath and his team thought they saw. Example: The two paradox Dophans within the book could have been a different looking Donphan or machinery and they thought they saw what we understand as a Great Tusk or Iron Threads.
So Sada and Turos paradox pokemon would be based on their memories of the scarlet and violet book. Creating the paradox of these Pokemon existing.
I am so excited for part 2 of the DLC and I really wanna see how the story will continue!
TL:DR: Terapagos might be a timeless being that has the power to make memories physical. Memories can be stored in Tera crystals and then show visions of those memories. Tera crystals might activate under certain conditions to give Pokemon strength or recreate beings based on the information stored inside them. Long periods time around high concentrations for Tera crystals might cause damage to the mind.

Okay hear me out guys I have a theory..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay so well all know Lucius is dead right? Like long long gone, older than Diana. If we’re going off of the Amethio and Liko are mirroring each other kind of thing where Lucius is Liko’s relative, and down the line each pair of people in the families are enemies(aka Lucius and Gibeon, Diana and Hamber(not saying Hamber is related to Amethio but you get the point), and Liko and Amethio) what always bugged me is the ages. Like what do you mean Lucius and Gibeon were alive when the “ancient pokeballs” existed, but only one of them are dead and the other is still alive and kicking? It never made sense to me on how seemingly centuries have past since Lucius has been alive, but Gibeon just looked like an average age grandpa.
Well, that’s where my theory comes in. Gibeon and Amethio are actually Hisuian Zorua/Zoroarks. It’s been proven that Pokemon live quite a while longer than humans, and it’d make sense on the time period the trio was alive(Lucius, Gibeon, Rystal). It’d also make sense why Gibeon would be searching for the Rakurium, to power himself up. You’ve seen what it does to Pokemon when Spinel used it on his Umbreon(justice for Blacky), and if the pink smog he’s always surrounded in is that, well no wonder he’s a bit not there mentally.
There’s a lot of holes and unexplained things in my theory, yes, but that’s the beauty of making a silly little theory; it’s probably not cannon.
I’m not going crazy guys
I swear

Fan Theory Debunking
The woman shown in a preview of the next arc is NOT Liko from the future.
Tumblr media
Here are three reasons why the theory cannot be true:
1. The Crystal Pool only shows people who have passed away, meaning people of the past. Liko is still alive.
Tumblr media
2. Liko has a hair tuft that would make her silhouette be noticeable. The woman in the fog does not have a hair tuft.
If you say that it gets smaller as she gets older, well, you're wrong.
Tumblr media
The females in Liko's family all have large hair tufts and Liko has the biggest so far.
Diana also retains the same size hair tuft from when she was a girl.
Tumblr media
3. The anime follows the Scarlet timeline, so there is no need to look into the future. Laqua is a place of the past. The RVTs need to search for pieces of the past to locate Laqua.
My guess is that the woman in the fog is Lucius's wife or one of his female companions.
What are your theories?

Pokemon Horizons and SV dlc's parallels! SPOILERS FOR HORIZONS AND POKEMON SV DLC'S
Tumblr media
Hello everyone, now that Horizons is on the verge of discovering the truth behind Lucius, behind the Woman who seems to Own Terapagos and Gibeon, I have a bit of a theory here, some parallels even to a story from Gen 9, that could really well be compared to the one Horizons might try to tell us:
The Woman that holds Terapagos, if she is truly it's former trainer and died due to a dispute between Gibeon and her friends, would thus be like Ogerpon's former trainer and Terapagos would be like Ogerpon!
Lucius, who is implied to be Liko's ancestor due to looking like him, as well as her grandmother having had a pendant containing Terapagos, he would be the Mask Maker in this story who kept the truth and thus seemingly passed down something very important to his descendants...he is a friend to that woman and Terapagos, just like how the Mask Maker was one to Ogerpon and it's deceased trainer and friend!
Gibeon, who is assumed to be the killer of that woman and being leader of an organization that used to be friends to a hero would be Pechurant here, not only have they the same derpy face, they also use a substance to gain power and lust after objects with gemstones(Laqurium and the Masks respectively). Also Pechurant was the leader of the Loyal three, it's henchmen, which fits with Gibeon being a leader as well to the Explorers, his own version of the Loyal 3, but in greater numbers than the trio. Yeah the weakest comparison, since Lucius and his friends other than the explorers are remembered as heroes, Ogerpon was remembered as monster and the mask maker nearly as a heretic for telling the truth!
So that means:
Diana = Yukito, Grandparents with knowledge of the story of their ancestor (even if Diana probably doesn't know) and of a legendary Pokémon tied to them. Also their first Pokémon are Arcanine and Arbok respectively, one is red/scarlet and the other purple/violet, mirroring the games and each other as counterparts. Yukito's Wheezing also exists, but it is not based on any animal and airborne, and thus can be easier compared to with Squawkabilly, a normal/flying type. So I go with Arcanine and Arbok here respectively for now.
Liko = Kieran: Descendant of a hero and want to bond with the legendary Pokémon in question (does that mean that Kieran is not in Horizons, because Liko is his counterpart?). Also they have a Cat Starter (Floragato/Incineroar), two Galar mon that are direct counterparts to one another and fight defensively to mitigate damage (Hattrem/Grimmsnarl), their hair has colored underlines (Blue and Purple, when combined, it is Indigo), and finally want to get closer to a Legendary Pokemon(Terapagos/Ogerpon) important to their family's history, and are highly sensitive and empathic with Pokémon (yes Kieran had a dark phase, but he is usually a sensible boy, even by his Grandpa's admission, hence why Kieran knew deep down the truth of Ogerpon).
For Carmine, we have either Lucca as female family figure that takes care of the hero, or we have Amethio, an older teenager that serves as obstacle to the heroes's goals of being friends with the Legendary Pokémon. The comparison with Lucca is right now not interesting enough to mention here, so I go here with a comparison between Amethio and Carmine.
Amethio Carmine, who like her, has an ace that has a secondary Ghost type (Ceruledge/Poltchageist-Sinistcha), who were born from the regrets of a person who failed in their mission. Similiarly to Liko's and Kieran's Cat Starters as well, Amethio's and Carmine's aces have primary Fire type and Grass type respectively, so that checks it out. Also they each have a Galar mon that also look rather dark (Corviknight/Morpeko, especially it's hungry form).
I think I cracked a code, or this is the best coincidence ever, tell me what everyone thinks about it?

So I been thinking, maybe the reason Penny is with The Elite four in Anipoke isn't only because "she works for them" but because she's PART of the league.
Let me explain real quick, at the end of scarlet and violet/operation starfall, instead of Team star disbanding, Clavell offer them to work with the league instead, right? To train students in their bases acting as training centers, this again is under the LEAGUE now.
Penny being the leader and not having a base of her own could very much put her in a position of "ok you completed and defeated all team star bosses so now you have the right to challenge the final boss"
To sorta "complete" that training.
It's a whole new challenge for students to take part of for those who attend the academy, mirroring the gym challenge, both, of course, optional.
But this would make Penny hold a position as a league member that's similar to a elite 4 member and I think that's pretty cool.

PKMN HZ THEORY TIME!!!!! (spoilers obvi)
episode 74 gave us some big lore drops. most of the lore dropped was implied, but at least now it's confirmed.
But here's the gist: 100 years ago: Lucius, Rystal, and Gibeon were the original Explorers. their goal was to reach Rakua. Lucius succeeded in reaching Rakua, and is currently there. Gibeon is still alive, and has continued trying to reach Rakua, but is unsuccessful.
Tumblr media
Lucius specifically said to his pokemon that when he would reach Rakua, he "would not die, and they would meet again"
this obviously raises several questions. Why would Lucius go to Rakua without his pokemon? Why would he go without Rystal or Gibeon? Why has he stayed in Rakua for 100 years, without ever returning? (at least to our knowledge)
Here's my theory: Lucius is trapped in Rakua.
Tumblr media
I think that once the original Explorers found Rakua, Lucius decided to go in first to test if it was safe.
His pokemon were clearly worried, so he insisted that he would not die, and that he would see them again after he tested the waters. He was confident that he would not be in danger.
Obviously, Lucius was unable to return, and has been trapped in Rakua for ~100 years.
this would obviously greatly affect Gibeon, Lucius's close friend. that would explain why Gibeon has been searching for Rakua for the past 100 years, and has gone to great lengths to reach it. one of those being disowning his own grandson for helping Liko, someone who's also looking for Rakua.
but what about the Rakurium? Why does Gibeon want the Rakurium? the Rakurium seems to have an interesting effect on pokemon, making them go batshit insane and stronger than a terastyllized pokemon.
Tumblr media
Maybe the Rakurium also has an effect on humans, making them go insane in a similar way to pokemon. and obviously, Rakua must have lots of Rakurium in it. Maybe Gibeon wants to save Lucius from being trapped in Rakua with a dangerous substance. and maybe he wants the Rakurium in order to destroy it for good in order to protect those he cares about.

Could Amethio be related to someone Lucius knew in the past?
The main reason I think this is because of Terapagos's weird reaction toward Amethio at the end of Epsiode 24.
Before you bring up "it's because Amethio tried to steal the pendant", I would like to kindly disagree with this.
The reason I don't think this is the case is because Zir and Conia were also there, and they have also tried to steal Terapagos (when it was a pendant). But Terapagos seem to only react to Amethio.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Also even though Spinel also tried to steal the pendant (Terapagos), Terapagos never summoned the shield even though Spinel went further than Amethio.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Terapagos has only summoned shields against amethio (as far as I remember).
Also, Rayquaza got way more angry at Amethio than the other characters. Landau says "it does not seem to wish to fight". But once it sees Amethio, it gets really angry and tries to attack Amethio. You could say this is because Amethio is trying to fight it, but Rayquaza gets really aggressive over it but when Roy wants to battle/capture it like Amethio, Rayquaza completely ignores Roy.
Tumblr media
Also both times when Rayquaza and Terapagos react to Amethio, it's focuses on Amethio's face/eyes as if they (Terapagos and Rayquaza) recongize him from somewhere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So maybe it is possible that Amethio is related to someone Lucius knew in the past and that's why Terapagos and Rayquaza react the way they did with Amethio.
Also Amethio is the only human other than Lucius that Terapagos has tried to reach out to. So far Terapagos has only tried to reach out to Amethio, Lucius and the six heroes (THIS PART MIGHT BE WRONG SO PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IT IS).

alright, finally caught up on horizons! terastal debut was really good, but i hope they step away from the game stuff for a bit. a lot of the fun of the first two arcs imo was how much it felt like horizons was doing its own thing and not being beholden to game canon. and granted, they did still did new things with the paldea characters even if it was effectively still a condensed gym quest, but i kinda hope we don't spend too much time in kitakami and get to jump around to some non-game places again before the inevitable trip back to paldea for an area zero adventure. at least we're back with the whole rising volt tackler crew now! i didn't realize how much the show was missing without them until i saw them show up in the preview.

HZ078 was really one of those episodes that made me feel like a child experiencing the wonder of pokemon again. the dramatic OST, the alteration of the landscape with the new island forming from the volcano, and the regality and confidence that entei held itself with during the battle, not to mention of course the other legendary beasts showing up in as epic a way as possible
Tumblr media
it really puts you in the shoes of the trio seeing these legendary pokemon roaming (ha) in the wild like that and it just felt seriously magical. the entei wasn't lucius' entei, but that doesn't matter because they got to experience something so crazy (plus they even held their own against the thing which is incredible, they've come so far)
additionally i really liked that achigator got a moment of not only approval from cap, but being able to pull off stomping tantrum correctly when cap had full faith in him and was expecting him to do well. i hope one day in the future we get a similar scene with friede's lizardon
oh and. you know

my likodot bias... nyarote and welcamo mirroring their trainers a little bit here... dot being protective of liko, welcamo being protective of nyarote, same shit, this scene made my heart flutter (and in general shipping aside i love when the trio works together in fights, SO)
i really loved this episode i've already watched it twice lmao
