I let her get it all out. I held her for a while, soothing her cries, trying to come up with solutions.

I pulled away from our embrace, wiping her tears away. I fixed her hair, brushing it behind her ears, the way I always used to do.

I took her hands in mine, looking into her eyes. “I want you to come with me on tour.”

She furrowed her brows, shaking her head. I knew she would say no. “I can’t, Billie.”

I nodded, “You can. I’m not leaving without you.”

“I’m not going anywhere without you, do you hear me?” I raised my brows at her, my voice firm. I wasn’t going to take no for an answer this time.

“I can’t, I need to find another job, Billie. I still need to pay my bills somehow.” She sighed, “I wish I could.”

“You’ll work for me! I can get you a job in two seconds, Remy.”

She thought about it. She spaced out, looking through the little window by her bed, as the tree branches scratched up against it. The rain pitter-pattered on the glass, the clouds blocking the sunset from glowing into the room.

“I’m not taking no for an answer.”

She tilted her head at me, “I don’t know…”

“Please, I want you to! I need a new photographer anyway. I know you’d get the best photos.” I begged her.

“We’ll see. Maybe just until I find another job. I’ll start applying.” She sighed, rubbing her tired eyes.

I pulled her back into my chest, swaying from side to side. I smiled big, knowing she’d be safe with me, at least for the next few months.

The next few hours went by without notice. I had finally calmed her down enough to get her to take a hot shower, while I ordered some food. I took it upon myself to tidy up around her apartment and do a load of laundry, making sure she had nothing to clean for the rest of the week.

Once the food arrived, I stood in the kitchen, placing food from the to-go containers onto two plates, purposely giving her the bigger portion.

“Remy we gotta do something about it. We have to report that to HR or something.

“HR doesn’t care, Billie, HR worships the ground they walk on. They won’t care. Besides, they’ll black list me and I’ll never get a job for a company that big again.”

I sigh, not wanting to push her to do anything she isn’t comfortable doing.

“Have some food, you haven’t eaten all day.” I sat next to her, handing her a plate.

After eating, we go to her room, cozying up under the covers, like we used to do, all the time.

We binge watch our show, letting the time go by in silence. Every once in a while, I glance over at her to make sure she’s okay. Her eyes followed the screen, occasionally licking her lips to keep them moist, or yawning and curling her toes.

After some time, I notice her starting to space out, looking past the tv, completely in thought. I watch her, seeing her fingers begin to pick at each other again, her restless mind keeping her occupied.

No one in the world has ever captivated me more than her. She’s breathtaking, especially when she doesn’t know anyone’s looking. The slope of her nose, so delicately sculpted, the faint freckles splattered over its bridge. Her lashes were long, clashing with her bottom ones as she blinked.

“What’s on your mind.” I turned slightly towards her.

I admired her eyes as she shifted her gaze towards me. She bit the inside of her lip, still in a daze. I gave her a soft smile as she looked in my eyes too.

She adjusted the pillow under her neck, snapping back into reality. She shook her head softly, “I just can’t believe my life right now. I feel like I can’t catch a break. I’m so fucked.”

“No, you’re not. Remy, it’s all gonna be okay. I promise.” My voice was slow and soft, anything to keep her calm.

She sighed, tears welling up in her eyes. “I’m sorry, I just don’t know how I’m going to pay for all these expenses. This place, my car, I have no insurance now… I should’ve thought this through.” I could see her brain turning at a million miles per hour.

“Don’t do that to yourself, Remy. There’s no point. What’s done is done. It was for the best.” I comforted her, “I’m so proud of you. You know that?”

She blinked, tears dripping down her face again, my progress unraveling before me.

“Rem… Hey, don’t torture yourself.” I brushed her hair behind her ears again, making sure her long curtain bangs stayed put too. I missed doing that so much.

“Everything is going to be fine. I promise you, you’ll be fine. We’ll do this together, you don’t have to deal with it alone, Rem.” I assured her, knowing she’d have a hard time accepting my help.

“I don’t even think I have enough saved up for it all.” She sniffled, frustrated to be crying again.

I had finally fought off her tears and given her ibuprofen for her raging headache. I hated to see her so upset. “Look at me. Try to take a breath. Listen…”

She tried to wipe her tears, mad that they weren’t stopping.

“I’m gonna take care of whatever you can’t handle yourself. I’d take care of all of it, if you let me, but something tells me you won’t.” I wiped away her tears for her.

“Even then, I’d pay you back even if I had to work the rest of my life.” She shook her head, “It’s too much. I can’t let you do that. Especially not now. I’ve been the worse friend, Billie. I know how much I’ve hurt you. If only you knew how awful I feel, knowing I almost lost you.”

“Stop that. C’mere.” I rolled her toward me, letting her melt into my arms. “I was a shitty friend too. We’re even.” I sighed as she cried into my arms again.

I stared at the ceiling, listening to the background chatter of the television.

“I’m here for you. That’s what best friends are for.” I nuzzled her face into my neck, brushing her hair out with my hands. She threw her leg over me, like she always used to do.

“I don’t know what I would do without you. I love you so much.” She sniffled, between sobs.

“I got you, Remy, I got you. I’m not gonna let anything bad happen to you. You’re safe now.”

She laid in my arms as I took my fingertips and softly scratched up and down her back, tracing little shapes into her skin, until I felt goosebumps form. I ran my fingers all the way up her spine, and down to her back dimples.

Her breathing slowed and steadied, letting me know she was asleep. I didn’t want to move, not even an inch. My heart was satisfied, finally feeling her at peace. I just wanted her to rest.

I’ll let her fall into a deep sleep, then I’ll take off and drive home, I thought.

Just 20 more minutes and I’ll leave.

I have to get home soon….

Hello there :) may I please have a matchup for RID15 and/or Rescue Bots? (RID15 preferred if only 1 is allowed, but whatever you think matches best)

At first, I come across as aloof, calm, and socially awkward. I'm very to-the-point, and can sense BS very quickly. I never get involved in drama, but I might make a witty joke while I sit in my little corner and watch with popcorn. I've been told I'm very observant and I've been called an old soul. But when you get to know me, I can be a bit of a gremlin😆.

I have a huge imagination and I'm always daydreaming. I'm creative and I love storytelling. Especially theatre and writing. Once I start writing, I find it hard to stop (as you can see here😂). I'm a film geek who likes psychological horror movies (Hitchcock films, The Shining, Carrie, etc). But I also love Scooby Doo. Another thing I like is archery and being outdoors.

I may be a complete basketcase and 24/7 stressed, but I try to look on the bright side of things when I can, and I consider my life to be an adventure. I know my problems will be a fun story to tell at parties someday.

One thing I despise is being talked down to. I also hate when conversations get needlessly intellectual and philosophical. Like, I don't wanna use my one braincell!

Fun facts: I was born with weirdly shaped pinky fingers. They're both bent sideways. Apparently it's called "clinodactyli" or something, so that's cool. I have sensory issues. My favorite movie is Gremlins. One time, I accidentally printed, like, 87 pictures of a cat because I was a dumb 7-year-old, and the entire computer room was flooding with cats. My mom was so mad😂. Also, I'm terrible at videogames. I tried to play World of Warcraft once, and spent over an hour trying to get out of the canyon I accidentally jumped into.

My relationship with my sibling(s) starting off strong, oof... umm, NONE really. i have four half-siblings (all older) and i never met the eldest two, i cut off contact with my second youngest sister entirely and i speak to my youngest older brother like, twice a year (once on my birthday and then again on his birthday in which we also wish each other happy holidays LOL)

the only one i miss a little bit is my youngest brother. we used to be pretty close and he is who made me into a gamer and is also responsible for my nü metal taste, but,,,, i guess we just grew apart due to age differences (that, and my relationship with my sister severely strained everything ig, he doesn’t like to be caught in the middle which he inevitably would be if she learns we speak)

BUT!!!!!!!!!11 i have gained lots of found siblings online and then eventually irl <3 i have so many chosen older siblings and younger siblings that my life is full anyways 💖

24. My relationship with my parent(s) COMPLICATED!! i’ve had a pretty rough childhood as my mum was unstable *and* i was unwanted. (gee i’m on tumblr this must be such a surprise) my dad was my everything, but he passed away some years ago. that being said, as i got older, i realised a lot of things, my dad wasn’t perfect either, was the stereotypical “fun dad”, but he failed to protect me from a lot of things because he simply wanted to avoid confrontation.

on the other hand, my relationship with my mum is still complicated but we are much better than we were. i can tell that she’s trying and i’m trying to learn how to accept a parental relationship lol. we share some passions and do more things together than before. we are trying to heal i guess 💖 so the good news is it CAN get better!

25. My idea of a perfect date this is the toughest question out of the three wtf. i have thought long and hard and still don’t really have an answer 😭

i think i’m pretty easy to please and as long as i have a good time with my date, anything goes! but,,, given what a nerd i am,, you could make me really happy with simple shit like… playing a video game together, or going for a hike to look at plants, or simply playing a board or card game together or…. you get the idea. this also works reversed, for my date to take me into their world and what makes them tick. 🙂‍↕️

Completely off topic but I wanna rant abt something for a moment (hence why I’m now sending this w anon and not my blog) but the video reminded me of something that happened to my friend in which she made a post on her UTDR related ask blog which was really simple just a “hey don’t misgender Kris/frisk/chara on my blog” and that was basically it. That was the post. BUT. She had vaguely mentioned the glitchtale and Xtale aus in the tags just bc those came to mind first as big fandom things that misgendered the kids, and SPECIFICALLY she wrote she didn’t know as much abt xtale though and that it was just as I said from the top of her head. And wouldn’t you know! The creator of xtale saw the post and took it to fucking HEART. Like made this whole personal long ass rant in a rb over this simple “hey don’t be transphobic on my own personal blog” post. And then, and I’m not joking, EVERY SINGLE comment, tag, RB, you name it, was ALL harassing her or siding w Xtales creator, the only people defending her were her mutuals, and this was a small blog to boot— this wasn’t some big huge blog going after xtale specifically— it was a small blog making a post aimed at the follower circle just offhandedly mentioning it IN THE TAGS. so this explosion just took a massive toll on her and us. Thus any time I see that au or the creator i just get the most sour feeling like Man I Hate They’re Still So Popular Despite That Shit :(((( so the fact a similar situation happened (at least based on what you described in the vid) just made me remember that was all, just like a feeling of “wow we really haven’t changed at all in like two years have we. :/“

Though with the X-Tale thing, that's something I'll have to look in to and fact check because I prefer not to spread rumors without evidence. if you're wondering why i went inactive and then deleted, my mental health kind of (really) tanked... and i ended up deleting my blog in a fit.

it's getting better bit by bit though! and i've been wanting to get back into writing (and talking abt my unhinged/yan ideas i can't really talk to anyone else abt), so. here i am! for now, at least

as for my previously posted writing, there's some good news and some bad news: the bad news is that everything i wrote directly into tumblr (99% of snippets, a lot of ask answers, most exact content warnings, etc) is gone. the slightly less bad news is that iirc there were very very few posts of mine that weren't reblogged by anyone at all, so they're probably still out there? feel free to send them my way if you find any and i'll rb them. @/midnight-remembrance also has reblogged a couple of them! there's a couple snippets i have saved in some places, so i might repost those on my own as i find them, but there's very few of those. the good news is that anything longer (proper writing — oneshots, hcs, yan alphabet responses and so on, prompt responses, etc) is safely backed up where i originally wrote it! some of it is also on my ao3, which is the same username. feel free to send me asks about any you'd like to see again and i'll repost them! i might not post them if i feel too embarrassed about/wish i hadn't posted them, and i might rewrite/heavily edit some of them, but i think there's only a handful that fall into the former category and none of them were particularly popular. either way, no harm in asking!

*roughly 6/22 done, but fairly quick to write. roughly one paragraph per character (sneak peek line: "it's not too hard to be discreet with his unique magic when someone really deserves to fall face down a flight of stairs. or three. oopsie. odd they don't remember it, huh? well, he had nothing to do with that.") **more realistic isn't quite the right word(s)... probably won't post this one to the main tags regardless. won't be doing all of the characters (only important/relevant ones) and won't be writing more about/expanding on, so this one is just like. a one off experiment sort of thing. overall less violent than most takes on the au + leans a bit (or lot, depending on how you look at it) more on the religious aspect of self aware aus. i wrote a couple paragraphs a while ago, then rewrote them, but i'll only finish/post them if there's interest for it (sneak peek line: "aether has deluded himself and cast You aside entirely on his own—and when You finally grace them with Your real presence, zhongli is certain aether will be the first to fall from Your grace.")
