I finally got to the design I hate the most, Alastor.
I'm not a fan of my design simplified to meet the cast's more cartoony style. I tried my best but might draw him some other time with my actual style.
Anyway, my thoughts are under the cut:
My issues with their Original designs:
What can I say that hasn't been already said by so many others?
Red overpowers his entire design and he barely stands out of the background, sometimes he blends with it at times.
Supposedly a mixed person yet the average audience member who watches the show with no context can't tell that he is. I don't want to hear about how mixed people can be pale-skinned because he was never written as a white-passing poc in mind. His Creole background was an excuse to use voodoo in the show and merchandising.
Another Vivzie character that dons a shoulder-padded suit. I believe he's one of the 5 others that has this repeating design trait (Angel Dust, Charlie, Pentious, Lucifer, Valentino, Vox)
His hair bothers me a lot. A 1930s man having a scene kid's haircut? I have a hard time believing that for the sake of the show. Also, not to mention he has that awkward undercut that ends up making him a scuffed Willy Wonka cosplayer.
Twink...
Personal tidbit, but I'm not sure what his staff's design even is? an egg with a microphone in it?
The thought process:
First of all, gave him a darker skin tone, that light grey doesn't cut it for me, unfortunately.
Also heard that his inspiration was Dr. Facilier and with that in mind, I wanted to make him look like him a bit more like him.
The mostly grey and black color palette was inspired by 99monchrome's take on Alastor. Teddy's take is pretty amazing.
If I remember, there was something about him being hunted and shot at like a deer while escaping the authorities. The headshot manifests as a small red X on his forehead.
Gave him a pencil moustache since I wanted him to look like a grown man in the 1930s. Plus, there is a seemingly noticeable lack of facial hair on every male character in this show. (If you're showing me an example of the opposite, please do not give me some background character or any Helluva boss character.)
An extra set of teeth will appear within the slits on his mouth, forming to prevent Alastor from being ever able to frown.
His mouth is also constantly bleeding.
A small detail that would be easy to miss but his eyes are radio dials.
He has a tail and fur on his body because I think it's cute.
Sort of like Velvette in the series, I do want to have Alastor drastically change hairstyles from time to time. Dreads, Twists, Straightened, Buzzed, etc.
A little detail just important to me is that his eyebrows go from thin to thick at its ends.
He does have fur all over his body.

10 Reasons Why I Actually Loved The Crow Remake
FKA Twigs - I'm not going to sit here and pretend I am not a huge twigs fan, because I love anything she touches and especially her music. This was her first time as a leading lady and I thought she did a good job. I do think there were some points where her line reading could have been a little more fast paced in some spots, but overall, I think she was captivating, eloquent and emotional. And wow, so many stunning visuals that we got of her from this movie!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. We didn't have to see depictions of brutal and violent deaths of women in this film. I didn't want to spend too many of my thoughts on comparisons to the original The Crow, but one thing I noticed was that I didn't have to endure the violent and sexually abusive death of Shelly or any other woman in this movie. I do like the original movie but never cared for the way they went all in on Shelly's death. In this remake, we still see Shelly die but we don't have to endure gratuitous SA scenes whilst losing the leading lady. I appreciated that and was able to relax more, honestly.
Tumblr media
3. The villain had actual motivation for killing and being a villain. There was some decent backstory and character development for the villain and that is something that I always appreciate. Some of my favorite pieces of media (like Spirited Away and Knives Out) do well to at least give the villain a story or a reason for being bad. I think it adds depth to the story and for me, helps immerse me into the plot more.
Tumblr media
4. It felt like a comic book come to life. From the color grading and palette to the way scenes were cut and moved from one to the next, it felt like I was flipping through a comic book. There were moments that were very whimsical in depictions of love and then very gritty scenes. The contrast in some of those scenes felt similar to flipping a page in a comic.
Tumblr media
5. It was very romantic and spent a lot of time focusing on their love story. I thought their love was believable and felt like that whirlwind kind of love where you just want to party and kiss all night. It gave me a reason to care about both of the characters and it gave Shelly a place in the spotlight where she becomes so much more than just a symbol of loss for character development. Focusing on their love and giving us some romance was a timeless decision and puts their love story up there with Romeo and Juliet or Christian and Sateen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Soundtrack was amazing! If you are into some new wave, some goth tunes and some dance tracks, this is the playlist for you. Beyond just the soundtrack, it was truly a different experience to see it synced up to parts of the movie as intended. The intro was amazing, I thought it was like a James Bond meets Underworld mixed with some NIN music video sprinkled in there. The folks who worked on the score deserve a standing ovation. There were moments where I was tearing up because of how well the music paired with the scene. Most memorable and moving was Joy Division's Disorder when they bust out of rehab together and a perfectly placed Boadicea by Enya. There were so many other good ones too, I'm seriously considering seeing it again just for the mini music videos you get from the film.
youtube
youtube
7. It was aesthetically pleasing. And I'm not just talking about the eye candy that was Bill Skarsgård, though lets give him his flowers for being a true Mr. Fanservice! The actual visuals were beautiful. I loved the cinematography and color choices. It was truly a feast for the eyes. Just take a look at this beautiful gif set by pizgif!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. I could easily see a story about grief and the longing for justice for loved ones. I thought it was a good story and as I watched it, I thought to myself that the person who wrote the original comic must have gone through an immense loss. It wasn't until I looked it up that it seems to be confirmed that The Crow was inspired by such loss. The moodiness of the movie itself added to the weight of the tragic storyline. In that, I liked that it takes a while for Eric to become The Crow. Losing someone you love transforms you and in this sense, the movie is all about that transformation and pain and longing.
Tumblr media
9. I liked the ending. I don't want to say too much to spoil it, but I enjoyed the different ending and I was definitely teary eyed and sniffling as I left the theater.
Tumblr media
10. It was goth as fuck. I think goth can be a multitude of styles and honestly shouldn't be something that has a gatekeeper. This was emo-boy-goth, it was e-boy-tiktok-hottie-goth, it was goth in a different flavor. I think folks are quick to see this new Eric not dressed like a new-wave-leather-daddy-goth as decidedly not dark enough. To quote a favorite musician, he was "goth as fuck, even when [he's] not in black, gothic is the pain you feel and not the clothes that's on your back."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Closing thoughts: A lot of the negative criticism is coming from men or diehard fans of the 1994 movie, so I am not surprised. This rendition felt like the same story, just done differently and with more emphasis on the love story than the revenge plot. There is nothing wrong with that and nothing wrong with a gothic romance heavy action flick.
This was intended to be a different version of The Crow and that isn't a bad thing. I personally think that if they had done the styling to be an exact replica of Brandon Lee's rendition then the movie would still get tons of hate, if not more. It was a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation for sure. I'm glad they took a risk and deviated from the '94 version.
We have been doing remakes since the creation of art. It has always been common to hear that the new movie coming out is actually a retelling of this classic tale or continuation of that scary story. Remakes are not a new concept and some of them do well to tell the same story in a different way. We are in the day and age where there isn't really an original idea anymore, anyway. In a world full of countless retellings of Batman/Joker and Spiderman movies, why not remake The Crow? I say fire it up!
I think they do a good job to pave the way for others to retell this love story in the same vein as The Joker and Harley Quinn. Hell, I would say to keep going, next let's see a remake where The Crow is about two badass lesbians. (I might have gotten too peppered up watching the movie, it was hot.)
P.S. I loved that there were little things like Eric wearing Shelly's jacket later in the movie. I feel like a lot of critics saw him wearing this jacket and were quick to bash the costume design too, but this is the kind of attention to detail that made their love believable to me. And I thought he looked cute as hell in it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, the end.

i love your art style so much its so unique how ots painterly and cartoony at the same time
like you got the good little shapes for the characters but instead of plain lines you build them up with layers of coloured brushstrokes in such a loose and free style
you have such an amazing understanding of colour and your characters please know that i MUST consume your art
Thank you for noticing that! :D When I started working with digital I found it easier to do once I started treating it like traditional art with perks (and cons of not getting happy accidents of spilling water/paint/ink). That was the moment digital art clicked with me. Also, wow thank you for the color thing because I honestly most of the time just go with the vibes and the palette I assembled over the years. Also while we're at it I'm going to recommend my favorite brush set I've been using for years now. It's this charcoal set for photoshop. Seriously, he 4th brush in this set is my go to one, I do everything with it, sketches, lines, and it's amazing for colors, the pressure is so great for it I sometimes don't even have to do additional shading.

Costume Design
im a simp for 2 things, historical fashion/costumes and paladins.
Amanda Monk, the costume designer of DnD: Honor Among Thieves, deserves some fuckin awards. It’s sooooooo good. Nothing is too noticeably analog to real world cultures so it’s fantastical (but if any of y’all did notice something please tell me im fascinated by this stuff), but the parts meant to show excess and wealth are fancy and intricate and ornate and colorful (specifically thinking of the background actors in the castle of Neverwinter) and comparatively the armor and clothing worn by characters who care less about wealth (Doric, Holga, and those with the Emerald Enclave) have muted, dark, and neutral color palettes because dyed fabric isn’t cheap.
But the ultimate standout design out of all of it is XENK’S ARMOR. It’s fucking spectacular. It’s magnificent. It might be the best set of armor I’ve ever seen in a live action fantasy movie in general. It’s just. SO GOOD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
usually im not that obsessed with armor in costuming, im a femme that loves pretty gowns, but we didn’t get much of that in this movie aside from Kira’s adorable dress in the castle (which i did LOVE it’s so cute) but the armor in this movie was amazing and it made me so happy
i just. love costumes. i love dramatic, fantastical, detailed costumes. and i especially love well designed costumes being worn by actors who know how to use the image of a character to tell that characters story. love it all.

Hi! Question for you, as a gifmaker: how do you compliment someone who makes gifs?
For artists you can mention their line work, their colour palettes, composition etc, and for writers you can mention quotes or imagery or character moments you enjoyed - what sort of things should you mention for a gifmaker?
I'm sure it's appreciated to have someone say "wow your gifs look really cool/pretty/amazing" etc, but I know it always means more to me when someone picks up on specific skills or methods needed for my craft - not to downplay more general nice comments! But having someone mention specifics always feels better (to me at least 😅)
I love seeing all these incredible gifsets but I don't know how to give specific compliments - what kind of details do you notice in gifsets that people can look out for to comment on when they see them? All I can think of is sharpness? Image quality? I know there's SO much more to them but I don't know the language to talk about them 😔
I'd really appreciate any pointers you have!
oooooo! okay so first I'll explain about how you make a gif:
you make gifs by taking a video clip (or screenshots depending on how you do it) and you form them into a timeline. then you use adjustment layers to change the brightness, colors, vibrance etc
Imo the BEST compliment i can get as a gifmaker is 'wow your colors are so beautiful!' 'theyre so bright, uniform (because sometimes its hard to get them looking the same in different shots (yes really!))'
like you said I like getting compliments like 'these gifs are so SHARP (smooth, the quality is so good)' that's a great complement to get for sure
and last but certainly not least 'i love these moments you chose!' because depending on the quality gifs can range from about 20-100 frames (that is 1-5 seconds) so sometimes we are not able to get exactly what we want in each gif.
personally my favorite thing about giffing is the coloring part so it always makes me feel amazing when someone mentions that!
I love this question! I'll add more and reblog if I can think of any.
also gifmakers please sound off in the replies about what your favorite compliments are to get!
😘💖🫂

Watched the remake's first episode twice ( original + latin spanish dub ) and let me say that I got some thoughts, most of them positive of course. But before I dive into that, I heavily recommend anyone who hasn't watched Ranma 1 / 2 to give the netflix remake a chance ! It got that 80s slice of life humor plus a bit of romance on the side lines. It's called a classic for a reason ! Now, my thoughts under the read more ( pictures included so be aware of possible spoilers ) :
First and furthermost, Mappa did not disappoint with the animation. The fighting scenes we got so far are very fluid, particularly the fighting scenes with Genma and Ranma. Although at first I was a bit hesitant of the chosen color palette, I have to admit that it has grown on me. Actually, the color palette plus the "manga-like" stylized kanjis throughout the explosive emotions gives it a certain unique style that is fits perfectly with Ranma's whole vibe. They just know when to use it and the Akane scream is the perfect example of that:
Tumblr media
( Also please look at the AKANE CHIBIS in the background. Gosh, so cute ! I doubt Mappa will release them so I might make it my personal mission to make them HD ).
The stylization feels rather close to the manga so I have no comment on that as it's my favorite Rumiko style. I have to confess that I kinda do prefer the REMAKE'S STYLE over the original's ( and with the original one I mean the style they used in most of the anime and movies, not the style that the original had in the first ten episodes ). Not to mention that certain scenes have almost the exact same framing and reactions from the manga which gives me some hope that they will stay truthful to the comics. Also the rumiko stylized reactions and chibis having a come back 🥺. . .
Tumblr media
Like, c'mon, this type of reactions + pastel palette are perfect 🙏 🙏 🙏
Now, what makes me the most excited : AKANE'S FOCUS in the remake. I have always been vocal about my dislike on how they managed Akane in the original anime. She went from a main character and co-protagonist to giving all the spotlight to Ranma. And what infuriates me the most : Rumiko has mentioned how Ranma and Akane ARE EQUALS yet the 90s anime made it their goal to turn Akane into some damsel in distress that never knew how defend himself, never letting her fight back and always be the annoying jealous weak girl that she never was in the manga. Gotta point out how it was clear that the 90s anime preferred heavily Shampoo over Akane. . . She always got the pretty dresses, clothes and screentime, Akane at best got a jealous scene. They painted Shampoo as the main rival for Akane when in reality, Akane truly never had a "real rival" and it was more of her vs the REST of the rivals in equal parts.
Don't get me wrong, I like the original anime but certain aspects push me far away from their Akane's portrayal. The remake, however, seems to have other plans. The first sign ( besides trying to be faithful to the manga lol ), is how they gave Akane her deserved black belt. Then in the first episode and in the opening we have clear instances where we are pointed that she IS the main love interest, THE MAIN CHARACTER ALONGSIDE RANMA :
Tumblr media
Notice the height difference omg. The opening continuously frames the two as the main characters + showing in the sidelines their rivals or other characters that will grow some interest on them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also this type of framings. . . Mappa draws her like she's the prettiest girl in the world and they are so right. Someone on twitter said that this remake was for the Akane fans and I'm glad to announce that they might be right. THIS WAS MADE FOR ME.
If that wasn't enough to prove my point then THE AMAZING ENDING will do so. It's ENTIRELY AKANE FOCUSED ( might make it my new mobile banner lol ). Only time will prove me wrong but so far, even the confirmed merch and Akane figurines is telling me that this time, Akane will get her chance to be the star.
Alright, alright, enough Akane chit chat and back to the usual production opinions. About the seiyus, they did an amazing job and it feels that their voices haven't aged AT ALL. The latin spanish on the other hand. . . feels cheap. They left the seiyu's screams and reactions and only dubbed the phrases so it's pretty obvious that there's two VAs with completely different tones. I was disappointed that from the original cast, only Akane's VA ( Rossy Aguirre ) came back and yet, I was willing to give it a chance but nop, not anymore. The audio mixing is not so good that I'll have to watch the rest of the series in JP. If there's a second season I do hope that this gets fixed.
If you managed to read all that, THANK YOU so much, that was a lot of ramblings OOOPS. Ranma 1/2 has always been my favorite manga so expect rambles like this for every episode.

the way you color stuff is AMAZING!!! I MEAN IT! mind explaining how you make colors look so good?? its ok if you dont want to :)
Hi, thank you so much!!! <3
Generally, I try to go for softer, more pastel like palettes, and that helps make the drawings seem more "consistent" and pleasing to the eye.
First tip: if you use Clip Studio Paint, definitely get this tool. It saves so much time on filling out lineart, and it's crazy accurate. If you're having trouble figuring out how it works, here's how I do it: I put the lineart layer in a group, add another layer below it (still in that group), and then use the tool on that new layer. Make sure the tool is set to refer to layers in a group though. Then I erase some areas that were "enclosed" by the lineart.
Tumblr media
As for the actual coloring process. First of all, I use the mechanical pencil brush from Clip Studio Paint, the same one I use for the lineart, except this one has random color jitter per stroke. It adds slight variety to the base colors, which helps making them look less flat.
Tumblr media
Here are the settings I use, but I recommend playing around with them if you want less subtle results.
For a comparison, here is one of my drawings with regular flat colors vs one colored with the brush I mentioned:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A pretty important part of the process isn't actually related to the coloring itself, but the layer effects I add to the finished drawing, as well as the paper texture (which you can see in the background; I add it twice, to the background and on top of all the layers).
Here are the layers I usually go with, I'll explain each of them below.
Tumblr media
I'll start from the bottom. The paper texture is almost white with some very subtle warm tones, and it's set to linear burn, which works the best for this kind of texture. Like I mentioned, I use this overlay twice, but both use the same layer mode.
Next is the brown-ish linear light mode layer. This is to give the drawing more subtle contrast while also tinting it with a sepia-like tone. You can use any color for this, but I find this light brown color to work the best for my artstyle, since it makes the drawing look softer and gives it the old photograph kind of look which I tend to go for.
The multiply layer is mostly transparent aside from the edges. This is for the vignette effect, not much aside from that. It's definitely a personal preference thing.
Lastly, there is the pin light layer. This one is a bit weird, but I really like the effect. It's hard to explain it, but I use it to tint the dark tones of the drawing with a slight blue color. You'll see what I mean in the examples below. Occasionally, I'll add another layer with a darker base color, since pin light kind of works in reverse: if you use a light color, it will target the dark shades on your drawing, but if you use a dark color, it will instead only go for the light shades. Note that it's pretty strong in this drawing in particular, I usually make it a bit more subtle. If you look at my recent drawings you'll see it.
Here is the same drawing, with each of the layers applied in the order I listed (left to right order):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'd also like to mention the lineart, which actually plays a big role in making my drawings look softer. I color the lines on the "inside" with a darker shade of the base color, though I often make it more saturated to really bring them out.
For example, here are the colors I use for FPK's lines. Not including his eye colors or the tips of his fingers/feet, since I don't color the lineart there. And a comparison of what he looks like with and without those lines colors, just to show how big of a difference it makes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to go back to the previous drawing, here is a similar comparison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One thing to note is the additional white lines on the darker areas of Grimm's arms, the lines blend with the base color so I like to make them slightly lighter to help them pop out.
And lastly, I'll mention the light outlines you probably noticed by now. I add them as the final touch, they're the same color as the background though I sometimes lower the opacity if I feel like they're too much. They're meant to help with colors that blend together too much, and to highlight the silhouettes of the characters, as well as adding more dimension to the drawing. I think you'll see what I mean when I hide them in this final comparison:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope this is helpful! Sorry if you didn't expect that long of a post, I wanted to go through each step in my process so that I can explain it the best I can haha

Reo x Nagi (interpret as you wish)
Lee: Reo
Ler: Nagi
Warnings: Tickles!
___________________________________________
Another day of harsh trainin had gone by, well, atleast for the other members of team V. Nagi being his usual self didn’t do much, and yet he always outshone everyone else. As much as Reo loved him, at times he couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous of this lazy cat he calls his friend. His thoughts got interrupted when he felt the white haired male flop down on his lap, those tired eyes piercing up at him.
“What’s up with you?”.
“What do you mean?” Reo looked down at his lap, tilting his head slightly.
“Your face” Nagi pointed up at him, earning a snort from the other.
“Pfft- What exactly about my face?”.
“It looks so gloomy. You’re usually so smiley, where is it?”.
“Where’s what- My smile? I guess I’m just tired tonight, haha…” the purple haired male tried brushing it off with a nervous laugh, thinking the other would just drop it there.
Nagi might appear like he doesn’t care half of the time, but he sure was attentinve enough to know when his friend was feeling down. Interrogating him on the matter would probably make it worse, so what could he do to get Reo out of his funk?
He let out a long sigh, taking Reo’s hand into his own and inspecting it as if it were an intricate work of art. This caused the purple boy to fluster up a bit. “Umm, Nagi…? What are you doing?”.
“Just trying something…” mumbled the other. His apathetic face neverchanging. Reo could never tell what he was thinking in these situations, but nothing could’ve prepared him for what came next.
“ehEEK?! NAGI WHAHHAHAT?!” a sharp squeal made it’s way out of his throat. When he looked down at his hand, Nagi had blown a raspberry right against his palm and proceeded to nibble along the slender wrist. Nagi’s cat side was really showing now. “GYAHAHA! N-NAGIHIHI QUIT IHIHIT!!” Reo guffawed, kicking his legs out playfully at Nagi’s persistent nibbling.
He couldn’t tell what was more flustering: the tickling, Nagi’s lack of reaction, or the embarrassing sounds that kept spilling out of Reo’s mouth. Surely he mustv’ve gotten a few glances at this point. At the thought, his cheeks turned bright red. A stark contrast with his purple color palette.
Nagi blew a raspberry right against his wrist, causing Reo to double over and wheeze in laughter. His eyes were squeezed shut, slight tears prickling the corners. And his smile was so bright it could blind anyone in sight.
“AHAHAHA! NAGI PLEHEHE—“.
Once he noticed Reo having a hard time controlling his breathing, Nagi stopped, letting go of his hand. He observed the flushed face for a moment, really absorbing in the sight. It was pretty cute, he had to admit to himself. “So, feeling better now?”.
Once Reo managed to calm down, he had a hard time wiping that silly grin off his face. He didn’t know whether to be upset or thankful at Nagi. “I hate to admit ir but… yeah” he spoke sheepishly, the pink blush returning to his cheeks. Which only darkened when Nagi shot him a small smile of his own.
“Now I know what to do when you’re all sad…~”.
Reo felt his whole body tense up at the thought. The thought of making more of those ungodly sounds was so embarrassing, but it also felt nice to let loose…  Oh well, maybe Nagi’s playful side wasn’t so bad to deal with after all.

Opinion on the LIs of MCL New Gen
I WAS RIGHT ABOUT RED SHADOW LEGEND. Anyways, here are my two cents about the characters, their designs and hopes I have for their routes.
Devon
I really love his eyes full of wonders, since you have to be extrovert and always searching for new ideas when you work in event management (how to market it, how to please both the clients and the people you're going to source the project to, finding catchy sentences or downright awful puns) but I love his hands even more, the way the interior is lighter, his long fingers, it reminds me of Mahershala Ali's hands and I hope he was one of the models to create the character. His hair are also a nice touch, especially the colors blending ! Seeing him in bright colors is refreshing, he seems fun and full of peps ! Sure black clothes give a more classy vibe, but we're managing events not burials. And do you even know how bright are the colors of some African clothes (search for dashikis, they are amazing and bright and joyful and...) ? I'm overall really happy to see a black man not bald nor fully dressed in black because god forbid they wear colors.
I'm hoping for a route like Rayan's, with a bit of conflict because dating your boss can lead to a lot of inequalities and risks for the low-rank involved, but I'm pretty sure we won't get a lot of dramas this season (apart coming from players who are so chronically online they can't not play a game that will make them miserable but that's another issue). I think he might have an ex ? Or past relationships that failed because his balance between work and personal life is bad ? Maybe Candy and her freshness/ability to surprise him and take him out to touch grass will be the balance he needs ? Honestly I'm hoping for praises from him, awful puns, dad jokes and a lot of complicity.
Roy
Oh, is he gonna be the Castiel of the game, but more chill ? People seem to love him a lot already and I can't fault them, he's handsome, looks nice and has tattoos (you can see it on his right shoulder, the black strip). His long hair looks very nice to braid, and I can just picture him as the outdoor guy, the one who always want to see the places the events are gonna take place since he's probably very good with spatial thinking !
He looks a bit "bland" at first sight, but I'm sure he'll show another side, probably more caring once he notices MC is not here to only get in his pants. He looks like he'd listen to any rant without taking side and just feed you until the anger dies down. Himbo maybe ? We'll see ! But he looks like the most gentlemanly of them all and I'm sure he'll be the one to ask Candy out first, probably after a date to the beach or so. Dake style but less flirty ? he's my least liked LI so I have a hard time thinking about possibilities about him.
Amanda
Oooooh she looks like a Targaryan !! Joke aside, she looks preppy enough and is probably the most down to earth of them all (and not just because she's a Taurus). I'm thinking that maybe, she'll get Yeleen's kind of personality ? The fair but harsh one ? She'll get the job done for sure, and the color palette is really soft and fashionable. Having a plus size LI is already a remarkable step forward, but making her so pretty AND dateable ? Now that's improvement.
And I can already picture people saying "they'll ruin the wlw romance like they did with Priya" but Jesus Christ and all his Apostles combined, didn't you notice Chino wasn't the one managing it ? That all the mistakes you blame on her are actually Uncoven's creators' mistakes ? That they sabotaged everything (MCL, Elda S2) just because they were so woke and so enlightened ?? Now that they're out of it, I'm pretty sure we'll finally have nice things, and without misandry nor biphobia. I'm hoping an enemies or rivals to lovers with her, just like I hoped one with Yeleen uwu.
Thomas
I WAS RIGHT ABOUT HIM FROM THE START. Ok time to be serious, his design is really nice, the high cheekbones, the milky white skin, he lost his freckles but gained piercing eyes looking directly in your soul and his curls look so nice to ruffle. He has the most guarded pose out of the four and is skinny, which gives us two "no six pack abs" characters (thank Gods beemoov). I don't know if he still plays the guitar, but that could be one of his special interests along a lot of things we need to discover about him.
My guess is that, as we saw him being precocious, he's neuroD and will be the harshest without meaning harm. You ask him something and he answers the raw truth, which could give a very good dynamic depending on the Candy's personality, which could also give us an interesting dynamic when dating or falling in love ? Like not touching but hesitantly grabbing her sleeve between two fingers, or gifts, or stuttering, or all of the above. I just hope he's aloof enough for Candy to have to "run after him" (no harassment involved) just to show him she cares about him, and so he could open up at his own rhythm. A soft slowburn or an abrupt hook up ? I don't know, I hope he surprises me a lot !

Unexpected Ways H.RJ

streetartist!renjun x reader warning: none, renjun goes through love at first sight lol
————— ୨୧ —————
With empty pockets and a longing in his heart, he can't help but wonder if there's something more to life than the constant cycle of struggle and survival. But when he looks up from his work and notice a pair of eyes looking back at him from across the street, he wonders whether it's time for a change.
Huang Renjun was an ernest young man who hailed from a small town. He spent his days wandering the city streets, selling his work to passers-by to make ends meet. From graffiti to mural art, his artwork was intricate. Spontaneous creations with distinct creative skills and profound intent, Renjun’s creations were instantly recognizable, with bold, vivid colors and intricate details that drew viewers in. His work captured moments of calm and serenity, transporting viewers to a serene and peaceful world. The colors he used ranged from soothing pastels to vibrant, contrasting hues that created a sense of movement and energy. All of his pieces were works of art that inspired awe and appreciation in anyone who viewed them. His attention to detail and passionate creativity made him one of the most revered artists in town. Renjun was filled with pride everytime his work was praised and lauded, but it wasn't enough to quench his ravenous need. Despite his success, he was dissatisfied and empty on the inside. It seemed as if he was after something, looking for meaning and purpose in everything he did, yet praise from others could never fill the hole within.
Today, Renjun set out his painting booth near the children’s park. He carefully unfolded a soft cotton cloth on the ground, to display his artwork. The white fabric served as a brilliant backdrop for his creations, allowing the vivid colors and details to pop out against the stark background. Renjun was particular about the material he used to display his artwork. He felt that the softness and smoothness of the cotton cloth provided a stark contrast with the rigidity and roughness of the street asphalt, highlighting the beauty of his paintings and further capturing the attention of passersby. The light weight and natural whiteness of the fabric only added to the appeal of the display, creating a soothing and inviting ambiance for viewing his work. Subtle wrinkles and creases in the folds of the cloth were almost like tiny lines of texture that graced the backdrop. The folds and wrinkles of the fabric were not only pleasing to the eye, but also provided an added element of texture and depth to his already striking artwork. Its simplicity and elegance of the setup left people with no choice but to stop and admire the beautiful paintings. On days like these, when the weather was particularly favorable, Renjun would set up his easel. He loved the natural beauty of the park, and often drew inspiration from its lush greenery, sweet-scented flowers, and breathtaking scenery. He would find a quiet corner of the park and spread out a white canvas for his artwork. As the sunlight danced across the white sheet, the artist dipped his paint brushes in his palette of colors and began to work his magic. Renjun gently began to roughly sketch out the outline of the park. His brush meticulously traced the outlines on the canvas. With swift strokes of his pencil, he captured the sunlight glancing through the leaves, the distant sound of birds singing, and the gentle breeze in the air, creating an amazing rendering of the landscape. He paused periodically to take in the breathtaking beauty of the park, which he was painstakingly recording onto the canvas. As Renjun worked intently on his canvas, a few children and their parents stopped in their tracks to watch him. While the adults were impressed by his attention to detail and the meticulous way in which he blended colors and shadows, the children were fascinated by the way he brought the park to life on the canvas. The artist could see the joy and awe in their eyes and he was reminded of why he started drawing in the first place. Soon after, he heard someone close inquire, “Excuse me, how much for that painting?” When Renjun turned around, he noticed a young man staring at one of his works. He smiled broadly at the man, displaying his sparkling whites as his eyes crinkled. "It's 25 dollars, but it's worth every penny." he replied. The young man grinned and gave the money over. The kids flocked around Renjun, staring in wonder as he painted. They appeared enthralled by his ability and creativity, as though drawn in by the enchantment of a fairy luring them into a fantasy realm. Their gazes were drawn to his every brushstroke, and a couple of them even went so far as to stand on their tiptoes to get a closer look. "Wow, you draw like a real-life fairy..." One of the younger children chimed excitedly. Another one cut in, "Yeah, can I touch it?" Renjun turned around and gave the youngsters a bashful grin. "I'm afraid not, at least not once I finish, sorry."
"Can you teach me how to paint like that?"
Renjun paused momentarily to consider his response. Then, with a warm smile, he offered, "I'd be happy to teach you one day, but for now, enjoy my work with your eyes first. Art is meant to be admired and appreciated, just like a rainbow." The children giggled and continued to gaze at the vibrant landscapes, their cheeks flushed in appreciation and delight. The afternoon sun slowly set, the parents began to tire from watching over their children. One by one, they took their young ones by the hand and gently pulled them away, leaving in their wake a calm and still park. Despite this, the artist remained in the same spot, finishing the details of the painting. He was determined to capture the peaceful beauty of the setting in its entirety, a reminder of the calm and tranquil world he was so passionate about depicting. Renjun was now finishing up the final touches on his painting, he noticed footsteps approaching through his peripheral vision. He looked up from his work to see who could be disturbing the peaceful atmosphere he was so intent on capturing. As he did, he noticed a pair of white heels stop right in front of him, and his heart suddenly skipped a beat. His gaze moved up the legs to find the owner of these shoes - it was the woman he had met his eyes with across the street. She looked down at him with a warm smile.
Renjun and the woman looked at each other, time seemed to stand still. The world around them faded away, as their eyes connected in a flurry of emotions. They both felt a strong connection, as if they were meant to meet.
"Good evening." she said softly, "I'm Y/N."
At the sound of her voice, Renjun felt his heart swell and the color rise to his face.
“Hi, I’m Renjun, Huang Renjun.”
"Your paintings are stunning. I've always wanted to be an artist, but I couldn't." Y/N chirps.
“Why so? If I may ask.” Renjun quips back.
“My family wasn’t very fond of that idea, also, I’m not that good at art” Y/N laughs. Renjun felt a surge of emotions at her response. He could relate to her struggle, having felt the same way when he followed his calling despite the opposition from his family. "I know a thing or two about learning to paint. Would you like to learn from me?" Renjun offered. The woman's eyes lit up at the thought of finally learning how to paint and create her own artwork. "Yes, please!" she eagerly agreed. Renjun doesn't know what overtook him as he offered the young woman, who he had only met 5 minutes ago to teach her to paint. It may have been love at first sight. Because for Huang Renjun, it appears that love encourages individuals to act in unexpected ways and conquer the most insurmountable challenges with stunning bravery.

I love the way you draw fire though! and your colouring is beautiful, I was wondering if there are any tips you could give for colouring?
OMG THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!! ;A; i'm still figuring out how drawing fire works tho and the feedback i got was super helpfull and got me a step closer to it i think!! during my last 2 drawings i've always had some super helpful feedback about the fire so i feel really blessed about that~ as for the colouring tips, well these are some of the tricks and methods i use;
1- instead of using a darker colour for the shading i just use a more saturated colour, kinda like this;
Tumblr media
the added saturation makes the colour appear darker when in reality it's not! think about it like colouring traditionally with colour pencils. when you use a colour pencil the places where you added a lot of pressure look much darker than the places where you added only very little pressure - despite it being one and the same colour! done with the same pencil! the reason it appears darker is because it simply just has more pigment. that's what we're doing here too, we're making the color appear darker by adding more pigment.
BUT
if we just simply stick with the exact same hue then the colouring would look bright and vivid - but still be horribly boring. so i play around with the hue too!!
the circle determines the hue you're selecting and the colors you see there are all at 0% darkness but 100% saturation despite them, technically, being equally light/dark according to the software they still look differently dark rotate the hue in the direction of blue/purple for the shadows and in the direction for yellow to select the colours for the highlights
Tumblr media
blue, purple and red are the best colours to shade white with, for black however it'd stick to blue or else it stops looking like black and starts looking like a very dark colour instead
2- give each colour it's own layer.
that way, if you notice halfway through that the colours you've chosen don't look so good together you can still make adjustements and edit every single colour without losing any of the progress you've done with the shading (note: do all of the shading on the same!!! layer as the base colour tho!!!)
many artists solve this issue by using predetermined colour palettes, that way they're guaranteed that the colours look good toghether but colour palettes save absolutely no time at all (adjusting the colours of a layer takes only a few seconds) and are extremely limiting when colouring so i just don't see any benefit to them
3- USE THE RIGHT BRUSH!!!! your choice of brushes can honestly make or break the colouring. the impact they have should not be underestimated, it's huge. which brush is best for you depends on your artstyle but personally i think brushes that simulate either watercolours or copic markers are the best ones.
if you use a software where it's possible to use custom brushes made by fellow artists then PLEASE do that. most art software comes with awful default brushes, and even for those that come with decent default brushes (such as photoshop) most free custom brushes made by fellow artists are still so much better than the default brushes that they're worlds apart Clip Studio Paint (the software i use) has an assets "store" where you can download brushes made by fellow users. for other art software i'd recommend checking out deviantart for user made custom brushes if it's a software that existed before the downfall of deviantart. it's a huge goldmine filled with insanely amazing brushes for many different types of software. personally i use a brush called froggy pencil for the colouring 4- add overlay layers to your art after finishing with the colouring. they can make a drawing really come to live and it's insane just HOW much they add to a drawing. usually i always either use a gradient, a solid colour or a soft airbrushed colour on the overlays and let them do their magic.
to show just how much of a difference overlay layers make; here's a comparision between my most recent drawing - and a version of the same drawing where i removed all overlay layers. see the difference?
Tumblr media
...soo uhhh ... that's all the tips and tricks i have up my sleeve lol hope it helped a bit?

TGCF Donghua
okay so I've been watching this shit since it was released and I'm fully enjoying waiting for the weekly episodes and I wanna rant about it because I love it so much but I do have some minor gripes
Bad chuchu out of the way first
I am not happy with how generic and unoriginal the designs for most of the supporting characters. Like yeah they still look somewhat different but when the pool of named characters will expand it will get harder and harder to tell people apart if they keep on going with this route. Almost everyone suffers from same face syndrome which I know is rampant in current anime I just wished they allowed for at least more dynamic silhouettes, hairstyles, and color palettes. It feels like a more toned down version of the character design in the manhua. Lang Qianqiu in the manhua is so easy to recognize because of his outfit and pei ming looks more like the bastard he is etc. Don't get me started on the design for Kemo, the manhua felt eh I feel like Kemo was too pretty and too slim but in the donghua its just he's a straight up orc idk, i feel like they could've done better. Pei Su looks very generic, I think out of everyone he's the most generic looking of them all. SQX, Ling Wen and Jun Wu are the best designs for the supporting cast and I think Banyue is also okay looking cause you can tell her apart from the rest so far.
I am super disappointed in Qi Rong's reveal because it doesn't feel as impactful in the book. In the book the reveal of him looking like Xie Lian was so dramatic to me I was like oh my god is that his brother? A twin? a doppelganger? And then Qi Rong just kinda looks like that, tbh his voice actor and his clothes are fine I think they fit. It's just weird how he suffers from same face syndrome. If they made everyone look less like each other making Qi Rong look like Xie Lian would have been so impactful and a really cool cliffhanger but they couldn't do that because even fucking Lang Qianqiu kinda looks like Xie Lian with lighter hair. Also the Fang xin design is alright on the clothes but the mask gives off a bit cheap however I get that it can't be super detailed and it still does its job so I can handwave that small pet peeve.
Also censorship we couldn't get Xie Lian falling on Hua Cheng's lap and so them trying to make up for that was super awkward LMAO, they could have solved this by making SQX fall right on Hua Cheng's chair so that they could justify why Xie Lian grabbed Hua Cheng and throws him but they didn't... and it's so awkward...
I think it was like Episode 2 of s2 that the animation feels weird, Mu Qing's face felt off to me idk what was going on it just felt like something went down but the next episode it was perfectly fine anyway.
Positives!!!
Something the manhua didn't have was Fu Yao and Nan Feng looking a bit like each other, that was so fucking funny and it's a great display of how much they hate each other and live rent free in each other's heads ong. I love that detail the donghua did I think that's smart.
The voice actors are so great in both dubs they're doing amazing (I haven't listened to the jp dub) I have no complaints I love their work
ONE of my favorite things about the donghua is being able to see Hua Cheng's expressions even when Xie Lian is doing something in the book so he wouldn't notice. I love seeing how pleased he is every time someone points out the intimacy with him and Xie Lian. Like in season 1 when Fu Yao is shocked/horrified that Xie Lian shared a bed with Hua Cheng, San Lang puts a hand on his chin and looks so fucking smug and happy. This happens a couple times in s2 as well someone will be like oh that's weird you're so like this with Hua Cheng and he becomes a smug cat it's great.
Another one I enjoy is during the beginning of the banyue arc when Xie Lian reveals to Fu Yao and Nan Feng that he's used to sleeping in squalor the camera goes to Nan Feng not revealing his face but clearly showing his guilt over what Xie Lian reveals. That's good shit.
Lan Chang picking a fight off screen, also cool, love seeing her. I like that she looks inconspicuous so for someone who doesn't know shit about tgcf they will not see *that* shit coming.
ALSO the men look kinda generic if they're not the mls but the girls are all gorgeous???? like the woman who was Hua Cheng's speaker, the girl who led Xie Lian further into the gambling den, XUAN JI, Banyue all the girls are unique without being so ostentatious and I love them. If you put them beside each other they all look like they're own thing but still on theme. From clothes, to hairstyle and colors it's easy to tell and that's good design. I also include SQX's female form cause she's gorgeous too.
The donghua I think adds to stuff I haven't read I'm not sure if this is because I have a bad memory but I don't recall reading a flashback of Lang Qianqiu and the failed robbery. But the message of that entire section was so fucking good. The way that what Lang Qianqiu said about 'maybe he shouldn't have intervened' and the sound effects UGh. It's so good, i love how the book tackles the morality of everything, breaking down Lang Qianqiu's firm positivity and believing in humanity but still promoting being kind and considerate through Xie Lian. This theme still carries on in the show and I think they're doing a great job.
GOD THE MUSIC in the donghua is so fucking good, I love it. The songs, the meanings, the beat it's all perfect I can't say anything more.
even though i'm disappointed in the character design choices the donghua is very solid, I love it a lot. It does come off as very expositiony sometimes but I think that's very prevalent in Chinese Wuxia and Xianxia. Probably weird for people who aren't used to the genre but to anyone who's seen something like it, it's not unbearable and it's kinda necessary because of how the book is written. Waiting for wednesday patiently whilst i draw huahua
There are so many fun details the Donghua adds that shows that they know the story and where it's going as well hinting at character stuff, it's so fun to spot those. Like Xie Lian's reaction to Hua Cheng biting the bun made me wanna claw my face that shit was good af.

ur a veteran emo? please teach me ur ways, I aspire for the 2000s emo culture but I can't find clothes anywhere😭
Yess! <3 Absolutely.
I'm truly no expert, but I can definitely share some insight with my personal experiences! Honestly by 'veteran emo' I always meant it as a 'I paid my nickel' type deal. I still dress alternative and dark, but my style has definitely changed to meet my needs as I've gotten older (no more skinny jeans for me LOL.) However, I do want to write all the tips I've picked up on my emo-inspired fashion journey - because I really do dress in homage to my 12 year old self. So without further ado, as per my 21 years of being an oddly dressed, dark inspired, self proclaimed emo veteran....here are my top tips to perfecting your own style:
1. Don't Be Afraid to Cut Your Clothes.
Seriously. Don't be afraid. I am so shit at sewing its not even funny (and I have TRIED) but if I've learned one thing: if you're not wearing the clothes anyway- cut em up.
I never wore any of the T-shirts I bought myself until I cut all of them into an "off the shoulder" style. Now that they're comfortable for me, I feel so much more confident in them! And they're way more flattering too. This tip goes for any clothes. Don't be afraid to fuck them up - dye, cut, tie, add patches if that's your thing, embroidery, etc. If they end up looking like garbage that's okay! You can just donate them/toss them/use them as rags lol. The main thing is that you'll start building confidence on how to DIY your clothes, at least minimally.
2. Iconic Emo Hair is a Journey
HAIR!!!! Growing up in the 2000s, I would go to a cheap seat salon, holding my little printed out photo of some emo girl from the internet. I was excited beyond belief! I would sit down and ask the jaded 50 year old stylist to cut my hair like the girlie in the photo, only to be met with judgmental eyes and horrible experiences.
One time, this lady deadass said to my impressionable 11 year old self; "Ah, yes, the iconic style of.....that."
I have had way Too Many Karen haircuts in my life. Some I totally slayed ! Others were.....mm.
Anyway, my recommendation on hair is this - either do it yourself (I could never) or do your research. Find some local non-chain salons in your area and look at the stylists. Stalk their instagrams! Look at their work. Find someone who loves doing shags and wolfcuts. I now go to a "higher end" salon. My girlie Caitlin has tranformed me into the punk emo princess of my dreams! I already had a side part, so I basically asked for a shaggy mullet with a bunch of layers, but I asked to keep a swoopy bang/fringe and some pieces of hair in front of my ears to frame my face.
3. It Grows with You Over Time.
It doesn't matter where you get your clothes. What matters is that the clothes you're getting bring out the most authentic, confident and amazing version of yourself! Style is an extension of yourself, so don't be afraid to adapt concepts from 2000s emo culture into the modern styles you might love today.
The first thing I recommend for literally ANYONE trying to discover themselves and their style is to make an aesthetic board. Not a board specifically for fashion, but rather one that encompasses you. Scenery, trinkets, textposts, aesthetic images that remind you of yourself, even just things that you like! Having a visual for who you are and who you want to be is so helpful. Literally anything and everything can be used as closet inspiration, and having an aesthetic board that completely revolves around you and how you perceive yourself can be so eye opening!
You might even recognize patterns in your interests that you didn't even notice before! Color palettes, textures, and shapes can all come to light. All of these things are very helpful in figuring out your personal style.
Once you have a genuine idea of your personal aesthetic board, you can then make one for fashion. Adding outfits or articles of clothing that you're interested in will help you when thrifting and shopping! I always pull up Pinterest when I'm at the mall or thrifting. It helps me get an idea of the clothes I already have and the types of outfits I want to wear.
For example, here are some of the patterns I recognize on my aesthetic boards:
Silver jewelry (layered necklaces, lots of rings)
Spider imagery
Long black skirts
Black, deep reds, dark blues
Platform boots
Celestial imagery
Leather jackets
Oversized button up shirts (flannels, dark colored corduroys)
Witchy plants
Shirts with long, interesting sleeves (bell, balloon, flared)
Big ol' sweaters
Bat imagery
Black tank tops with a 'v' neckline
Your style will evolve as you get older. And no matter who you are - style is versatile. Even if you love to wear corsets and gorgeous form fitting skirts most days....eventually you'll need a day in just sweatpants and your coziest sweater. As stated - what matters is that the clothes you have make you happy and bring forward your most authentic and confident self.
4. Don't Put Yourself in a Box!
Making your style your own will not only help you feel confident in your own skin, but also gives you flexibility in your closet. Style evolves with you! You shouldn't worry about you should or shouldn't be wearing just to fit into a special box like "emo" or "goth" or "cottagecore" or any of that! Instead, take the elements of those styles that you love and implement them into your wardrobe. This also helps you find clothes that are comfortable and that you'll actually wear.
5. Emo Style Starter Pack
For emo clothes in particular, I recommend accumulating clothes that are black, dark grey, grey, and white (yes white.) And then choose an accent color! For me, my favorite colors to wear are blue and purple. So when I started accumulating a concrete wardrobe my Junior year of high school, I mostly focused on black clothing and found accentuating accessories or articles of clothing that matched my fave accent color.
For someone starting to shop for traditional emo clothes, here's a shopping list I've curated:
Long sleeved shirts (black, striped, patterned) (to be worn under other shirts or stand alone)
Black tank tops (different straps)
Band t-shirts! Or just dark t-shirts with alternative designs
Heavy jacket/button up shirts (flannels, jean jackets, leather jackets)
Dark pants (can have as many pocket/rip/design elements as you'd like)
Dark boots (could be platforms)
Canvas sneakers
Oversized hoodies
Layered necklaces
Fingerless gloves
Multiple rings
Belts with dangling elements like chains
Beanie hats (you can get cute oversized ones)
Flat brimmed caps (LOL YES! IF YOURE INTO IT)
Black bandanas to wear over your hair (I think you can wear them in a lot of cool ways :3)
At the end of the day though, if you just wear a lot of black any normie will call you an emo. Find clothes that you feel comfortable and clothes that will make you feel badass!
Hope this helped! Or maybe it didn't lol. I'm just glad I managed to actually finish this post.
xoxo

You should draw more silly stuff
(Lightbulb x Paintbrush)
Tumblr media
This is my first fanfic so it's probably not very good. I also have no idea how to format this post. I'm just gonna do whatever feels right I guess.
Rating: general audiences
Tags: fluff, one-shot, talking about art too much
Summary: Paintbrush and Lightbulb paint together
Lightbulb stood in the doorway of the art room, watching Paintbrush paint. Paintbrush looked so focused, like the entire world around them disappeared. Lightbulb watched, mesmerized by each stroke of the brush. For whatever reason, Paintbrush looked so beautiful when they painted, it sent Lightbulb into a hazy trance. She snapped out of it as she realized she was kinda being a creep. She slowly walked up to paintbrush, trying not to startle them.
"Watchu painting?" she asked
Paintbrush's trance was broken. "It's supposed to be a sunset, but it's not really turning out right"
"Well it's definitely better that anything I could do!" Lightbulb said reassuringly. "You're art is so amazing! I wish I could paint, but I can't even draw a stick figure."
paintbrush noticed her looking at the ground, with a slightly sad smile. "you wanna paint something?"
"Really? I don't know. I'm no good at art stuff" lightbulb said awkwardly.
"You don't have to be good at it! You just have to enjoy it!" Paintbrush stood up and grabbed a blank canvas. They moved the canvas they were working on to the side, and replaced it with the fresh one. "Come on! Let's paint something!"
Lightbulb hesitantly sat down and grabbed a brush and stared at the canvas. "I don't even know what to draw!"
paintbrush thought for a second. "How about Baxter!"
Lightbulb smiled. "Yeah! That's a bright idea Painty!"
The faint sound of knee slap could be heard in the distance
Lightbulb dipped her brush in red paint and began to draw a big circle on the canvas. Then she started adding little legs followed by claws, but it started looking a little wonky. "Oh geez, that looks nothing like a crab. That's a rab!" she giggled
Paintbrush laughed softly and said "No I think it looks fine!"
Lightbulb started getting more invested in the painting and began really enjoying herself. "I'm gonna put a whole bunch of hearts around him cus I love him!" she said happily.
Paintbrush smiled at her silliness. "Yeah I think that would look really cute!"
"Man Painty, you were right. Art is super fun!" Lightbulb said, still adding hearts to her painting.
"That's what art's all about" Paintbrush said, with a hint of passion in their voice
"Then how come you always get stressed out when you paint?" Lightbulb asked genuinely, now turning to look at Paintbrush.
Paintbrush was taken aback by Lightbulb's words. She had brought up a good point. In all this time stressing over how the art works, they've lost sight of why they're doing it in the first place! "Well it's not that I don't like painting. It's just that I really want my art to look good! I have a lot of big ideas and it's hard to get them out on paper..." Paintbrush trailed off.
Lightbulb got some red paint on her finger and dabbed a bit of it on Paintbrush's face. This instantly pulled Paintbrush out of their thoughts. Lightbulb smiled at them lovingly. "You should paint silly stuff more often! cmon, let's paint together!"
Paintbrush felt their heart skip a beat. Lightbulb really was perfect in every way. Paintbrush smiled, then set up a painting station right across from Lightbulb. They dipped their brush in yellow paint, and drew a circle on their canvas.
Nearly 2 hours passed, during this time, Lightbulb had made several drawings, but Paintbrush continued working on the same peice the whole time. Finally, Paintbrush anannounce"finished!"
Lightbulb excitedly rushed over to see what they drew, but when she saw it, she was shocked. It was a painting of her. It was beautiful and detailed. The lines were soft, the color palette was pleasing to the eye, and the lighting was so warm. the whole peice felt, comforting.
"It's me?" were all the words Lightbulb could muster up.
Paintbrush smiled, but was looking down at the ground shyly and heavily blushing. "I wanted to draw something that made me happy! so..."
Lightbulb just stared at them, the blush slowly covering her whole face. She felt like she just got stabbed in the heart, but in a good way? She felt like she was glowing. Actually she was glowing. She literally lit up. She suddenly blurted out "Paintbrush I love you" in a startlingly matter of fact tone.
Paintbrush's bristles suddenly started to spark with flames as their whole face turned red. "Really?" they asked in disbelief.
Lightbulb snapped out of it and realized what she said and panic set it. "OMGA! I can't believe I just said that! I'm sorry i-"
Lightbulb was cut off by Paintbrush quickly standing up and grabbing her shoulders. "Can I kiss you!?" Paintbrush asked bluntly.
"YES!" Lightbulb answered quickly before passionately kissing Paintbrush, who immediately reciprocated. Paintbrush's head went full fire mode as they wrapped their arms around Lightbulb, who was still glowing. They pulled away from the kiss, silently looking into eachothers eyes, and holding eachother for a moment.
Paintbrush broke the silence by quietly laughing and saying "We should probably go to bed.... it's 3 a.m"
Lightbulb giggled "Yeah you're right" they let go of eachother "We should paint together again sometime"
"Yeah" said Paintbrush "I would like that"
