Hey there! I had an interesting week, to say the least! Not bad, though! It's been very freeing! Thank you!

Ghost with a Drug Addict S/O

If we go off of canon, then Ghost has had a drug addict in his life before, his brother Tommy. Canonically speaking, he did help his brother out and did support him, so why wouldn’t he do the same for you? Sure, he won’t be particularly happy about it, but he’ll support you. He’ll calmly talk to you about it, ask you what you want to do and where you see yourself in the future. If you’re already aware you have a problem? Good, then that doesn’t need to be addressed. Ghost is patient, if he needs to talk to you about it several times to make you realize you have a problem, he will. He won’t judge you in the slightest, he won’t give you unsolicited advice either, but he will make the suggestion that you might want to try rehab. You’re probably aware that drugs aren’t good for you and he’ll support you through it. Yes, he’ll even fund your rehab, but he’s going to be sort of controlling about it to make sure he’s not funding your addiction. However, he will make his boundaries clear: He’s likely not going to cover for you too many times if you miss work or school. If he did then he’d be shielding you from the consequences, making you feel as though there aren’t any. You’re more than welcome to ask him for help, he’ll do what he can to be of use to you, but he’ll also be firm. He’s well aware that your addiction likely stems from something. Maybe a mental health problem or maybe you were around the wrong crowd. Either way, he’ll be addressing those problems alongside your drug addiction. If he didn’t then you’d likely just fall back into old, bad habits. He won’t be mad at you or be disappointed if you relapse, it’s not that unlikely, after all, but he’ll try his best to get back on track. The most important part is that you need to talk to him. You need to want to get better or else he can’t help you. He’s not going to abandon you because he loves you and knows that an addiction is always hard to overcome, but please take his hand. He just wants to help you. Please communicate with him whatever it is you may need him to do. Another thing he’s going to do is find a bunch of new hobbies for you. You wanna go to the gym with him? You wanna take up knitting? You wanna get into baking? He’s gonna be with you during those times as well. He’s well aware you need something non-triggering to distract yourself with, and he’s more than happy to find something nice and calming for you to engage in. And I do also believe that he would try to reinforce positive behavior by rewarding you as well. Overall, he’d be a very supportive partner to have.

Hell yes I can!!!! Strap in lads, I've decided to put this under the cut because it got... long. Thank you so much for this question anon, I'm sorry if it's not quite what you wanted, it kind of ran away from me!!! But please know that I had so much fun doing this!! I'll take any excuse to talk about Control fashion!!!!

Okay, so:

The Director's suit

What can I say, just look at it, 10/10, no notes (well, lots of notes, but all about how much I love it!!!) Absolute perfection!!! The details on this outfit!!! The triangle on the back, the little triangle on the shoes, the cut outs on the jacket, the hair pin?????? It's truly everything to me, and I love it's story significance of visually showing Jesse embracing her role as Director, it's just the perfect example of everything the FBC and Oldest House is!!

(Also, fun fact, the first thing I thought when I saw it was 'oh, yeah, I understand why this is one of Julia Drawfee's favourite games now'...)

2. Asynchronous suit

Again, what can I say??? Look at it, this thing is just gorgeous!! Oh, the details!!! The structure is so beautiful, all the different shapes, the Brutalist nature of it all!! Also her cute little boots, I love them and the way they blend into the leggings!

Also, as someone who would desperately love for Jesse to get a skirt at some point, the half skirt and the way it moves in combat is everything to me, ahhh it looks so good!!!

3. Civilian outfit

I love her original outfit so much!!! It's so simple, yet it manages to be so iconic!!! I remember someone I was watching complain that her outfit wasn't great because it doesn't stand out enough, doesn't make her look like enough of an outsider, but personally I completely disagree! Control is such a high aesthetic game, and Jesse's civilian out so perfectly compliments the aesthetics of the Oldest House through its colour scheme and silhouette! Especially the back of the jacket, I absolutely adore the structure of it, it kind of has a similar energy as the Asynchronous Suit with the sharp Brutalist energy it has. But at the same time, by making it a leather jacket and jeans, it stands out so clearly from the (sometimes unnecessarily extra) formal shirts and trousers/skirts the others wear.

Anyway, love it! Also adore the bright blue of the original jacket!!!

4.Janitor's Assistant

Love it!! Love it so much!!! I adore the rolled up sleaves and trouser legs (whether this is for fashion or practicality, I do not know, but it is aesthetically pleasing none the less). Also, I love the detail that's she's wearing her original boots with this outfit, it feels like a cute visual cue of how comfortable she feels in this outfit/role. Also, the fact that Ahti gives it to us personally for a job well done just, perfection...

(also look at her little hammer and plyers, she deserves them!!!)

5. The Golden Suit

I do indeed enjoy the Golden Suit, I mean, it's a variation of my beloved Director's Suit, and has a lot of the same details I love that one for, but it just doesn't hit the same for me. I think I would prefer if it had a white shirt, or the shirt was a little darker as the greyish colour just isn't quite for me, (though it could be the darn lighting in the Oldest House). But still, I do indeed love it, I mean look at her, she still looks incredible even if its not quite my style!

6. Expedition Gear

You know what, I used to think I didn't like this outfit, but it grew on me as I was looking at it for this, and you know what, I love it now!! Like, to begin with it's one of the outfits that has the ponytail, and I absolutely adore this hairstyle!!! The way it moves in combat is gorgeous, and I enjoy the effort made to give her a high pony style that doesn't make her look like Beth Wilder!! But again, rolled up sleeves, super cute, the zipper/clasp detail on the side, it's all giving practical but fashionable, and I'm so hear for it!!

7. Extradimensional Suit

She's cool!! I mean, this outfit has the ponytail, so that's already a win! It's not my style, or the sort of thing I'm interested in, but I can appreciate it for what it is. The colour scheme is gorgeous, I love all the textures and shapes, particularly the piping around the neck (it reminds me of the mail room/pneumatics!). And as always, she looks incredible in it, so a solid outfit all round, just not one that makes me go feral, you know?

8. Office Assistant

I do very much love this outfit, I think she looks adorable, there's just not that much going on. I do love her little sensible heels, and the fact that the shirt is pinstripe rather than plain, it's cute!!! It's also just, it just is the FBC, it's such a recognisable look throughout the game, so I very much appreciate it!!

(Can you imagine if we got the pencil skirt version too????? Sigh, I can only dream...)

9. Candidate P7

Again, like, story wise this outfit is fascinating- (I've been thinking recently, like, at what point did Darling decide Dylan was a lost cause, and what did that mean for their pursuit of Jesse?? Is there a reason they just happened to have a prime candidate outfit ready for her, exactly in her size???)

Anyway, fashion wise there's not much to say, though I never realised you could run round the Oldest House in little socks, that's cool!! It also looks so cosy, but it has far too many lore implications for that, so unfortunately it does come last, but it's still cool!!

It's cute!! It has a lot of the things I love about the Tactical Response, but the colour scheme just doesn't hit the same! The top is so cute though, I love it!!!!

And, uhhhhhhh, thats it :) If you made it to the end of this, thank you, I am incredibly impressed!!! Anyway, the clothes in Control are incredible, and this is only Jesse's outfits, there's so many other amazing clothes in this game!!! Like genuinely, the commitment to fashion in Control is incredibly important to me, and will always be one of the things I love most about this game!!!!

Man sometimes I make the mistake of reading the notes on a post (don’t do it) and like… this truly is the piss on the poor website.

No one has any reading comprehension and no one can clearly state what they mean. Everyone is so ready to argue at the drop of a hat. No one can make their point with clear language, and then seem to be incapable of rewording a statement if someone doesn’t understand them. Everyone immediately descends to insults upon disagreement, whether real or imaginary.

given what hoshina said about his previous division treating him like a burden/parasite just because he can’t handle firearms and specializes in his swords… how tiring must it have been to have to work with those people each mission despite having a common goal?

and how tiring must it have been to be constantly told off by his own father for wanting to continue his family’s tradition, or to be told to give up on being part of the jakdf by his own teacher -

before mina, a high ranking commander personally reached out to him, to recruit him into her team?

the fact that she didn’t see him during joint trainings and think: why bother with that? why bother with blades when bigger kaiju will appear? when she personally deals with bigger kaiju herself.

but she instead saw him and thought: he can help me, he can cover my weaknesses (mina not being able to handle a vegetable peeler is hilarious) and he’s someone i can trust

she sees potential in him, she sees how he can excel within her division, she saw hoshina and as captain - has probably heard everyone talk shit about him but she was still certain that he’d be one of her division’s greatest asset

(and even when platoon leader ebina refused to let hoshina help out, mina stood firm on her decision and her claim that hoshina would be useful. when she asked him if he could take down the big kaiju, and he could only promise saving the child within it - she believed him, took his word for it and waited until he carried out his promise.)

and now hoshina is the vice captain, putting faith in a new recruit whom most people wouldn’t have believed in… full fucking cycle..

tldr: it makes me rly fucking emotional to think about how hoshina was given a reason to continue improving with his swords after being told to give up all this time… and how mina had never once thought his abilities were useless 👍

also makes me crazy how protective he is of his position as vice captain, as the person who stands by captain ashiro’s side…

So I wrote an article about them for class, and since it was Wilhelmine's birthday (july 3rd), I decided to post it here. The memoirs of someone are a fascinating way to tell History as a story, creating a better approach for the reader, and also can be considered as reading for entertainment. Here we will talk about some extracts from those of Wilhelmine von Bayreuth (1709-1758), princess of Prussia, who, in more than informing us about the conditions of his daily life, gives us information on the life of his brother, Frederick, as well as on the mysterious main character of this article, Hans Hermann von Katte.

The kingdom of Prussia experienced a real growth during the 18th century, under the reign of King Frederick II, known as “the Great”. Reigning from 1740 to 1786, he is known to be a great war leader, but also an important figure of the famous intellectual, philosophical and artistic movement of the Enlightenment. He was a complex character, deeply influenced by the events that occurred during his life. We will focus here on one of these events, perhaps the most marking of his life, and constituting a decisive turning point in his self-development: the so-called “Katte” affair or “the escape of 1730”.

We’re in 1730, Frederick just turned eighteen and has been suffering for more than twelve years of mental and physical abuse from his father, King Frederick William. The latter believing that his son, a bad soldier and good artist - the opposite of the Ideal Prussian - is a disgrace to the country. The young man is exhausted from all of this and considers a radical solution to escape his suffering, whether by fleeing the country - probably for England, via France - or by suicide. He confides on this point to his two closest confidants, his elder sister Wilhelmine and his friend - and (more than) certainly lover - Hans Hermann von Katte, a lieutenant of the Gens d’Armes.

In August, the decision was made: it would be the escape one. After trying to make him renounce, Katte decides to accompany Frederick in his project, and to flee with him, ignoring the consequences. They will be helped by another friend, Peter von Keith, former page of the prince. The plan went as well as one could expect from the one of a desperate teenager, the organisation was bad, and our three friends were caught. The martial court condemned Katte to be imprisoned for life, and turned to Frederick-William, not considering itself qualified enough to judge the crown prince. In one of his infamous anger moments, the king decided to “break” once and for all the mind of his rebellious son by having Katte executed and forcing his son to watch. As we can expect, it was a terrible trauma for Frederick, and we can find its impact throughout his life.

But, let's focus back on Katte. Although surrounded by an aura of tragic destiny worthy of a Shakespeare tragedy, only few sources give details about who he really was. The point of view that will interest us here is the one of Wilhelmine, who knew him personally and wrote about him in her memoirs. These, having been written years after the facts, as well as the subjectivity of the person concerned, depict us a colourful portrait of Katte and his actions, allowing us to think about this type of sources and their historiographical value. In this, we will focus on two passages: Katte's presentation, as well as his last conversation with Wilhelmine.
