Fells I was in the grocery store yesterday afternoon listening to the Angelic Playlist and when The Book of Love came on I literally started crying. In the grocery store. But it’s just so THEM and the relief from finally getting a s03 confirmation plus the perfect South Downs Cottage imagery that song gives just hit me all at once. I can’t believe we’re actually going to get that. On screen. Best holiday gift ever!!!

Oh yes! If anything that song, hand-picked by neil himself, is a promise: that they’re going to get their happy ending. That this is a love story. And we’re getting it, if only we wait a few years

i...i wanna say something so honest... i really don't care about a league of their own and most of you don't seem to either. it's a huge hassle organising the episodes because — not to say this for the third time in two sentences — but most people don't care much about it and haven't made the effort to keep it archived. we haven't seen a source for a complete series 6 in, like, 8 years. i'm not going to be making an effort to log that title for the time being. sorry if that's an inconvenience, but feel free to use the resources linked in my faq for your own research!

i added all of travel man (720p) and bridget christie's the change (1080p) to the misc watch links post (link below). i'll work on finishing upstart crow and then adding the rest of as yet untitled, game face, man down, and the cleaner!

i will continue uploading as-hd-as-possible versions of cats does countdown to my youtube channel and will eventually get them all on drive, but that's a slow process; i don't spend much time on youtube because half the commenters are tossers and deleting their negativity to keep it a fun space doesn't always leave me in a good mood 😡😡😡

Granada TV Series Review: "The Second Stain" (S03, E04)

The Granada adaptation of "The Adventure of the Second Stain," the last case published in the collection entitled The Return of Sherlock Holmes, is a very solid episode in the series. Jeremy Brett is in particularly fine form in the episode, and the supporting cast is excellent as well, most notably (for me, at least) Patricia Hodge as Lady Hilda Trelawney Hope. (Fans of the British comedy Miranda will certainly recognize Ms. Hodge from her role as Penny, Miranda's mother.) 

The adaptation follows the original story quite closely, merely rearranging a few scenes to heighten some of the dramatic tension, but following all the plot points quite closely. The most interesting change comes at the very end, where Holmes is given the chance to indulge in a fine bit of sleight-of-hand to deposit the letter into Trelawney Hope's dispatch box while he is sorting through the letters. In the original, Holmes deduces that Lady Hilda has a duplicate key, and has her place the letter in the box before her husband gets home. In the adaptation there is no second key, and there's a lovely shot where Jeremy Brett walks into the foreground, showing his face in profile as he lights his cigarette, immediately after his little trick.

A couple other little details caught my attention and made me grin with delight. The first is so random that I actually think it may have been a mistake while filming. As Holmes complains about his inability to find the letter over several days, he lights his pipe and flings the match aside. The match is clearly still aflame, and a few seconds later, Watson shouts, "Holmes!" The camera then shows that the pile of newspapers on a nearby chair has burst into flames, and Brett and Hardwicke proceed to put out the flames for a few seconds. There is no mention in the original of anything catching fire, and it has absolutely no impact on the plot, so I wonder if the fire was an accident?

The other detail that made me smile was when Holmes searches for the letter in the hidden compartment in Eduardo Lucas's floor. When he finds it empty, Jeremy Brett utters a snort that sounds exactly like a hog. It made me laugh out loud, but this moment was apparently Brett's interpretation of what the original story calls "a bitter snarl of anger and disappointment." Okay, it was more a snort than a snarl, but entertaining nonetheless!

The episode wraps up with Jeremy Brett jumping into the air in celebration, an action that seems a tiny bit out of character for the detective. However, as I consider Brett's approach to his portrayal of Holmes, I think one of the things that makes it so enjoyable much of the time is how much humor he injects into the role, without it devolving into slapstick. I have to admit that, every once in awhile, he carries it a bit too far, as in the adaptation of "The Musgrave Ritual." (See my previous review for my thoughts on that episode.)

Overall, I found this episode rather enjoyable to watch. I don't know if it would ever end up in, say, my top five favorites, but it did have a dramatic arc that I found rather satisfying. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments after watching the episode linked below.

Just one before the end, huh? Not gonna act like I didn't have a few days long breakdown when I heard that but anyway.

Season 7 had a kind of rocky start with all the set-up before we got to the actual 'War' part of things. The entire arc takes place in numerous locations simultaneously. I've heard that this was an absolute slog in the manga as Horikoshi decided to go for showing everything in a chronological order. The anime decides to focus most episodes around ONE plot thread but even with that, this season feels pretty slow until like the last 5 episodes.

I'm not gonna lie, my take is VERY biased because almost all my interest is just around Deku. And this season? It barely had any Deku! Devastating!

As I never saw most of Class A particularly... interesting, their arcs' conclusions didn't have much of an effect on me. The last two episodes were absolutely gorgeous however. Fellas is it gay to [BNHAS07 EP20-21]?

Bones! I'm honestly disappointed in y'all. The last few important episodes were fantastic, as were a couple here and there but overall, the rest honestly felt lower quality than what I'm used to from this studio. Well, their worst is still better than 95% of anime out there but still. I think wouldn't have cared as much if this wasn't the second to last season.

First OP and second ED going on my playlist, thank you for the food. VA's did a fantastic job, I can only applaud them! Well, I never want to hear [] cry again cause that cracked me tf up despite how emotional the scene was supposed to be but besides that, no complaints.

Azi uses pretend expressions that everything is fine, but it isn't. I swallowed your pain, because you need to represent, pretend, act as a form of deception that “you are on the side of heaven”, but you are not! He has his plan to reverse and needs to act.

Even though it's difficult to be away from Crowley, even though every second away is like physical pain, Azi is focused, prepared to make the decision, the right strategy. He can't make mistakes, the game is risky and that could put them in danger. It is in his God Crowley that he finds strength.

Granada TV Series Review: "The Six Napoleons" (S03, E07)

Well, pursuant to my last post about the unfortunate disappearance of the complete Granada playlist from YouTube, I did manage to find the finale of the first season of The Return of Sherlock Holmes elsewhere on YouTube, so I am happy to report that I can, at the very least wrap up this third season of the Granada series with my review of "The Six Napoleons." And what a finale it was!

Of all the episodes I've watched thus far, this one may be the most entertaining. It really has it all: a lengthy opening scene in Italian, featuring a knife fight(!); Jeremy Brett in top form, as well as an admirable performance by Colin Jeavons as Inspector Lestrade; and a plot that follows the original story quite closely, while maintaining a flow of storytelling that works remarkably well. And to top it all of, there's humor...lots and lots of humor! Indeed, this was by far the most enjoyable and funny episode I've seen in the Granada series.

When I say that Jeremy Brett was in top form in this episode, there is no better example than the final scene in the rooms at 221B, when Holmes acquires the last of the six busts of Napoleon. After a very humorous sequence in which he purchases the last bust from a very finicky chap, he proceeds to set up his smashing of the bust with the same kind of flourishes one would see from a master illusionist. He even pulls the tablecloth from under the tea set that is on the table, lays it out, and then...BANG! his walking stick crashes down on the final bust. Priceless.

The original story is certainly very entertaining, but this TV adaptation perfectly captures many of the things we love the most about Sherlock Holmes stories: the banter between Holmes and Watson, Holmes always one step ahead of the local constabulary, and Holmes's delight in details that seem meaningless to others, but that turn out to be the heart of the case. I shall share the link to the video I watched, in the hopes that it won't disappear from YouTube any time soon. Enjoy!

oh and they have compilations for S03 E1-6 and S03 E7-11 but past that there's NOTHING, you have to clik on one video at a time, which are BURIED deep down. OR clik on the playlist but then if you don't pay attention it will plya the episodes in reverse bc it's listed that way

you light think "oh, thank you transformers official for the youtube channel and all the episodes of tfp and tfrid (2015) and cyberverse" but thne you look for episodes and it's just an absolute mess

there's like 6 "2 parts special" but you have no idea which season it is. You have at least 3 or 4 fucking COMPILATION but no season written on it like??

Absolute garbage. So you think" well, at least they put all the episodes in a huge playlist BUT NO, there's only 26 episodes in there and you have to display the fucking palylist to have an idea of which fucking season it's for. And like I haven't check the two first seasons but season 3's playlist has the episodes IN THE WRONG ORDER, and you can't sort them by chronologically added anymore so it's a fucking nightmare.

Oh and for some reason the fucking search entry is GONE which means that you have to scroll through ALL of their videos to find the one you want LIKE A DOG.
