lissie: for sure! the enhypen concert was pretty much a coincidence cause my friends and i planned the trip in 2024 before they announce the summer editions. and since it's a dream of mine to watch a kpop concert in korea/japan, i was like "why not?" and our indo friend who lives in japan joined us and they helped in getting the ticket to repay for their part of the accommodation cost, which i used my money to book and pay. this is my second stadium-scale kpop concert (the first one was the smtown in jkt 2023/4(idk)) and genuinely so fun. since my friend helped me bought the lottery, i didn't know where i was placed. and i was placed pretty near the stage, so it helps because i didn't plan on bringing binoculars at all...

they were so good istg! maybe because i am used to the indoor kpop concerts that i expect to get tinnitus at the end. but i like how it isn't like that. the concert was live-streamed too, so you might see the clips on twitter and such (idk i might be in there also lol). i basically adapted my concert habits, which are usually "standing in the standing section, karaoke-ing and dancing to the choreo at the back of the section", to "have a great time with minimal recording and follow along with the fanchants." the heejayke train is working as fuck for me + sunoo is so ughhh. defintely my favourite members of enha (hoonwonki i still like you too :D). my vocal chords survive, but my throat is still dry, mainly because of the summer weather... (you have to understand because i am in japan and heeseung is also in japan, i'm just thinking of the laurel hell epilogue part where heeseung and mc are in japan and going to kyoto aughh)

i know the ending of squid game. i think it's one of the reasons why i don't have any desire to watch s2 and s3 cause s1 is near perfect for real. there's a youtuber who made a alternate ending vid and i like that one better. so i very understand that you made it as a coping mechanism (ngl, i made besok mungkin kita sampai as a coping mechanism to niki as well, where i was hoping he had more time being a regular teen instead of debuting in the competitive stress-inducing kpop industry) gosh i haven't even followed any survival shows ever since the produce rigging scandal. that's why i don't follow i-land and was not in invested in the creation of enhypen. but, they come and get me anyway *shrug* i was a wanna one writer on here before i redo my blog back in 2021, so i had that experience as well...

oh teeth gosh. you have to actually notice that when i was watching the concert, not much people are enthusiastic with the memorabilia songs. sonically, memorabilia is the best release that they have and teeth is just chef's kiss. i made a whole review about it if you want to read it lol and their performance... :D literally lucifer and teeth is the only time where my jaw totally dropped watching. i love memorabilia so much i might actually buy the album lol

yes, ive's songs are good. it's the reason why i put accendio in the playlist. i added royal and blue blood there too as my favourite ive b-side

omg thanks for mentioning nmixx as well. i haven't listened to all of their fe304 albums yet; only the first one. and i have added run for roses as well

yes! i have heard of xlov and i have been meaning to want to listen to their music so much. i love androgyny and breaking the masc-fem stereotype (coming from a she/her who likes to wear rockstar clothes, yes, rockstar, not rockstar's gf)

f(x) songs are great! ugh i love 4 walls, pink tape, and red light so much. hence why i put one of each in the playlist. gosh i miss when male kpop idols can do femme concepts as well. it's why i like key's songs (and i have bad love in the playlist) and also why i have a certain place for sunoo in my heart lol as a very balance masc-fem performer

i think, yang lu pilih itu juga, is the more definitive of the performance because it came from the vibes, honestly. keliatan mirip sama stagenya 4 walls f(x) yang paling iconic. so yes, tldr: i will get into xlov in the near time

gosh good choices! i love how you spread your choices across different generation from 2nd gen with f(x) to 5th gen with h2h. i also like how you picked mostly b-sides other than whiplash, the chase, under the skin, and 4 walls. and based on the genres, it's more likely a club type of playlist but in a spectrum, like teeth, whiplash, and domino play together on one polar while the chase, 4 walls, and foreshadow are on the other polar with goddess in the middle

answering the question:

yes, it is supposed to be the song from the playlist :D i've edited that after you point it out. i basically was copying and pasting the formatting from the last collab (discovery 400) and yes, you're correct!

oh definitely. you can do more than one (i only pick one because i have so many playlist, though i could definitely add virtual angel! yeonjun in this collab?). yess 200+ choices. those are my all time favourite kpop songs, especially when it comes to the instrumentals. i’m still, genuinely, a beginner in discovering kpop songs outside of the title tracks. so, i think if i seriously hear more songs from kpop artists, the playlist can be bigger (i definitely wanna see your ideas about 8 of them 👀)

you've found a discovery: euterpe's realm

lissie: greetings! thank you for taking a chance in reading my fics, visiting the blog, giving it a like, giving a reblog and/or comment, and for following the blog. as with the other discoveries i have done, i'll be sending back to the community and what is not a good way to do that by hosting an open collab for writers who write for ateez, txt, and/or enhypen, especially those who might have writer's block/no idea to what to write next.

what is euterpe's realm?

one of the nine muses from greek mythology, euterpe is a muse of lyrical poetry and music.

euterpe's realm is a fic collaboration project centred on adapting stories from my favorite kpop songs, which i put in my playlist called "euterpe". the playlist itself has around 200+ songs from gen 1 to gen 5 artists. you will be writing a story based on/inspired by the song in this playlist and you are allowed to be inspired also by its music video and concept photos.

this collab is open for anybody who wants to / is writing for ateez, txt, and/or enhypen and will last until july 31st 2026. if you decide to join in, your name will be listed on this post.

guidelines:

this project is for ateez, txt, & enhypen fics

the fics can be either reader insert x idol or oc x idol (no idol x idol pairing)

minimum word count is 500

though i love timestamps, headcanons, and reactions, this project is for drabbles and full-length works only.

plagiarism is extremely prohibited, especially if you are plagiarising existing works. believe in yourself that you can create something great!

lissie: hey all! sorry for not updating as much cause i’m busy packing and all that and i have been busy writing too :D

progress is slow but stable and i think i might release the writing collab announcement at the 31st instead. but i do think that it is sad to know that there isn’t much connectedness between the writers anymore and it become too exclusive and cliquey. so i hope that a writing collab can change that(?). i’ll be willing to be a neutral party

other than that, BIG big projects coming in next half of the year. i *finally* am able to post the soobin halloween fic once again and some other fics in the wip list as well. honestly, i just need to get this off of my chest to cement it all…

an honest review of txt's the star chapter: together purely from musical observation (not proofread)

opening remarks: okay, txt is coming back with a full album. interesting tidbit to notice. other than that, concept-wise, i know that this album is, in a way, ending the txt lore concept with star seekers and such. and knowing that next year is their seventh anniversary feels different. i honestly can't believe i have been a moa for THAT long. i was there since debut lol. so lemme say that i am proud of what they have become (even though i am still worried cause they are being milked to be on tour like all the time.)

other than, as much as i have heard of a lot of things regarding this album, i'm still blind to it. i know the concept photos, the concept trailer which has many callbacks to their previous comebacks, but i haven't ventured further. honestly, knowing the changes in how i consume kpop, it is better that way so that it isn't 100% biased. txt finally have their solo songs, though i am interested in how they all are tying up together + i've got to watch hello strangers for real (gosh speaking of hello strangers, it reminds me of cix so much. like their hello, strange ... series is so good ughh)

knowing what this entails for me as an enjoyer of early txt sound + love language (i'm actually surprised people don't like love language as much), i'm pretty excited to explore the sonics that is the next entry of the star chapter.

okay let's get into it cause i have a bunch of songs to listen :D

upside down kiss: you mean, the spider-man kiss? that one spider-man kiss? ooh *eyes*

that bass mixing sounds nice. very poppy and how it moves from the left and right. the vocal blends in with the instrumental that it creating this wall of music effect in the chorus. taehyun sounds so good there alongside yeonjun. but genuine, i can't comprehend that this sounds a lot like a shinee song. i mean, i always believe that txt is the gen 4's answer to shinee. but, having been listening to a lot of shinee world lately, like replay and love like oxygen, the pre-chorus and chorus sounds a lot like shinee, which is a big praise coming from me. other than that, it also reminds me of enhypen's daydream to. i guess with the whispering "kiss" lyrics because both songs have them

also as a bass player, i love the interchange between the synth bass in the verses and chorus, and the change to the real bass guitar in the pre-chorus with slides. creates texture between those two parts. also: "baby girl, let's get freaky?" what are you telling me, gang? i don't wanna presume much of what this upside down kiss means now *blushes*.

beautiful strangers: oh OH oh OH FUCK YOU THAT WAS TOO SHORT FFS MAKES SONGS LONGER RRAHHHHH

okay, first impression: it sounds like japanese synth pop. like i can already hear how this song becomes like a bgm for an isekai like suzume of your name. you have to imagine listening to this song whilst thinking of the frames from matoko shinkai movie. so fucking beautiful or just this song with the background of the lovesong japanese ver mv. i haven't watched the mv yet, but hoping that it will be like that.

i also now understand how this song feels "gen 2"-esque: the wall of synth that is the transition. another current gen song that sounds like this is &team's under the skin and they are literally j-pop (fuck me, should i write about this shit cause txt is very isekai-coded lol? heck, i have a soobin isekai fic)

i love how the song creates contrast with the verses and the synth breakdowns. that underlying piano motif creates this melancholy because it sounds very nostalgic imo + the "my beautiful stangers" melody. soobin's voice is a highlight here because with his much lower voice timbre singing so high, it feels like he is yearning for something more. also, i love how the harmonies are expanded in the chorus. like you hear so many twinkles of harmonies here and there.

but, WHY SO SHORT? i wanna strangle anyone who makes the executive decision to make this song so short. compare this to their song that has a similar feel, deja vu, it is 40 SECONDS SHORTER. OMFG. and as i also mentioned with deja vu: this song BEGS for a bridge. ISTG where's the fucking bridge? love language had a bridge, why doesn't this one have it, huh? i'm genuinely so upset. a missed potential ughh. like txt's bridges are so good. lovesong, runaway, can't you see me, ughh

okay, rather than complaining, i am suggesting solutions to this.

1. make the bridge feel similar to what &team's under the skin feels. so it plays around with silence and the synth.

2. i was thinking of making the bridge go into a sudden modulation to hammer down the contrast. not just texture vibe, but also tone-wise. then it comes back to the chorus and synth breakdown

3. as the whole concept of beautiful strangers and the star chapter tomorrow is post-apocalyptic in sense, i am taking a note from ateez's halazia and make the bridge similar to it. like it increases in rhythm so that the ending become somewhat dnb where the percussion and synths are in a chase.

ghost girl: okay, i just read the track credits and to see that yungblud co-produced this. we've seen his and yeonjun in a pic together and to know that yungblud is, imo, the only current mainstream artist who has this real rock and roll persona, i respect this and am excited to hear the song sounds like.

okay, with that said: this is very different than ggum and actually, this is what i was hoping the ggum mixtape to sound like (especially cause they use the term mixtape to refer to a single. that's so fucking stupid of bighit). i like that i have a comparison with this with ggum as they are both yeonjun's song, but with the whole concept of the mixtape back then, ghost girl is sonically the better suit

i also like how they are using real instruments here, even though i don't know about the drums. but the bass line sounds real. i also like how weird the structure of the song is, yet i like the pre-chorus so much. i actually can also hear yungblud's voice in the harmony, especially around the ending before the outro. very nice, actually.

sunday driver: soobin's solo! knowing his music taste, i am guessing pretty soft ngl.

i didn't expect it to be a bit funky, though. the synth sounds very warm in a way. i do think that i know that this sound is pretty popular in the korean charts: very feel-good type of song, similar with the likes of soyou and junggigo's some or some iu songs. also, soobin is really using his whole range here. it makes me realise that his singing voice is more whispery than i realised. also, i think because it is the type of song is meant to emulate korean charting songs, it feels very generic because it is too similar with no other obvious difference than just soobin's voice honestly. not as challenging as yeonjun's, but i respect it that he wants a more feel-good type of song instead. also the fact that this song it only song in this album with a bridge is ridiculous

dance with you: with kai's solo, i think i have seen a romantic style type of concept photo. so maybe it is going to sound like those type of romance song that the likes of shawn mendes will make.

with this song, i see the vision for the romantic song type. if i want to compare it, it's like a more electronic version of bts jimin's filter. with the guitar arpeggio at the back of the song and the simple rhythm of the percussion there too. very rnb-esque but i didn't expect the sudden moombathon percussion at the end, which is, in a way, like an instrumental bridge. also, kai with that low voice changer feels very dpr ian ngl. kai's voice suits this type of song well and because he has this natural raspiness in his voice, it sells the romance angle of the song so much.

take my half: knowing what a beomgyu solo song sounds like with panic, i was hoping that this could also be a slow rock type of song similar to it.

lol i was right. it is very k-indie rock, which i like (but other than me and beom have similar music taste so). while panic is more beabadoobee, this track seems to be inspired by phoebe bridgers in a way. it has that yearn into it that i like about beomgyu. i also enjoy how the sound grows here. maybe because it is much subdued + it grows as it introduces more of the elements in the track. i also love the chord progression in the song and how it plays with the subdued verses and loud chorus. also, when i think this song was also good with its mixing that i can hear different elements within the wall of sounds. i actually can hear this song being recorded in a jam session like every part of it feels so tight with each other. i would love to hear this song played live in a small audience for real. good to know that beom have this settle down with this type of rock sound

bird of night: i actually don't know what to expect with taehyun's solo. his taste is very eclectic and unpredictable so it could be anything >.<

when i heard the verse of this song, it reminded me of bts jungkook's first ever solo song, begin. so i expected that there would be a fast breakdown in the chorus like that song. i didn't expect a house chorus, though. but you also have to know the "whoop!" i let out in that chorus part with the harmonies. the chromatic sequence is so good. i think the piano is also very good and it encapsulates the regality of a kind of song with the title of bird of night. genuinely, one of my favourite songs here in terms of instrumental. it sounds beautiful. but i had wished that there will be a bridge, though. referring back to begin, i think a bridge like what that track has will be good for this song, which is basically a reprise of the pre-chorus + i wanna hear more of taehyun's run because he deserves to do runs in his own song.

song of the stars: knowing that this song is a juxtaposition to nap of a star makes me even more emotional ngl

taking into account the sound of rock in k-pop that they helped to popularise, i think this song that is calling back to a b-side from the dream chapter: star sounds very epic in a way that it is such a good outro song. one of the good outro tracks that txt has, along with farewell, neverland. it gives a sense of hope all throughout that makes me have chills running down my spine. maybe because i have more emotional weight to know the significance of this song. but i like how the song is also cranking that melancholy aspect so high up that it is made to be like that. plus, this song is also so good in its structure and the melodies too. though, i would have a love a bridge to hammer down that melancholy vibe to it

i was actually genuinely scared that i heard the melody of nap of a star but it is not there so hell yeah to me for not having a heart attack (though hearing that will be so good just like ateez does with treasure and precious). other than that, this is the only song that connect with beautiful strangers as an ot5 song and i like the sonic it creates with it

closing remarks: honestly, i do think this is the tightest txt album we have got in a while. it climbs up the ranks of my chart of favorite txt albums so well. sonically, it connects with each other from the slow parts to the electronic parts. in a way, it feels like they are telling a story from a sound so futuristic to song of the stars that sounds so... txt.. yeah, song of the stars and beautiful strangers are what encapsulate as the true sound of txt. it is one of the reasons why i was so disappointed with over the moon because it could be more if more is pushed.

i also have to mention the concept photo and how it lacks in terms of budget with the concept trailer and mv. i just think that if we have an on-site type of concept photos like minisode 3, it would look so good.

in a way, this album felt like a return to a familiar flavor of txt that acts as an anchor and it allows the members to venture into the music that they like to do. it feels melancholic and swan song-like. gosh, i just can't comprehend that txt is considered an old group but i am also getting older with them. i was in my first year in high school with txt and i'm nearing the end of my uni years. one of the reasons why i became their fan is because of their relatable concept: the fear of growing up and all of that i also have experienced. so hearing this album knowing that their seven-year contract is nearing its end means a lot to me. it's like they are saying goodbye, which i don't wanna jinx it because they are so good together. but we genuine don't know what the future hold for them :")

getting back to the album before i become so emotional, i hate how short this album is. compared to their previosu full-length, this is just so short. the fact that there is only one song with a full bridge and another with an instrumental bridge speaks something that is just hate to comprehend about the state of kpop. txt, who is knows for their musical storytelling via melodies, lyrics, and song title, is abandoning that to stick to the tiktok generation where songs are made to be clips instead of stories. but, in return, we got the sound of old txt back. as i mentioned, this is one of the tightest txt release where i genuinely believe that all of the songs are good. so that's why the track scores are gonna be so similar with others. i also have to justify the reasoning with my choices, too.

final ranking:

8.sunday driver (63/100): soobin is my bias but that doesn't mean i have to enjoy his solo. in a way, i rank this the lowest because it sounds too generic for a feel-good song. i wish there were something more to it...

7.dance with you (64/100): similar to my comment above, i just think that there should be more with this track. i like how the voice changer part cuts through the monotony, but making it longer would be good

6.upside down kiss (66/100): as good as this song is, i just think that it doesn't have as much staying power with the other b-sides in this album. it also does not have much of a staying power in comparison to the first songs in txt releases. like, make this song compete with the likes of new rules, growing pain, opening sequence, and i'll see you there tomorrow and it loses so bad

5.take my half (68/100): even if i like the mixing better, it is pretty much the same comment as the one panic got. i want more side of beomgyu rock :D

4.bird of night (70/100): this and ghost girl are competing to be my favourite solo songs but i just think this one loses because it becomes predictable when listened so many times

3.ghost girl (71/100): i gave it a one-point difference because of the replayability. it has so many elements in it that replayability rewards you for it

2.beautiful strangers (73/100): this song could be my favourite txt title tracks and beat lovesong IF IT HAD A BRIDGE gosh what a missed opportunity

1.song of the stars (75/100): genuinely a beautiful song. i love txt so much. okay, i'm tearing up listening to this song. it caught me :"D

overall release score: 68/100, but out of sentimentality, i'll give this a 70/100 >.<

small conclusion: if you are a reader of my blog or just txt fanfic in general, would you want to read a txt story like the ones of makoto shinkai movies (suzume, your name, weathering with you, etc)? i might make an anthology out of this :D

lissie: hi hello! just wanna inform that i may be releasing terra incognita act 2 after the promised date of august 15th. i will be heading to japan next week and until the 12th and i don’t know if i’m able to write whilst i’m there or not.

though in august 1st, i’m planning to post my collab post which will be a year-long one. hope that will entice you all to join in as well!

other than that, how’s it going? july nearly ends and i know people in the southern hemisphere are going to back to school around end of july/early august after their winter break. how are you all? what have you been doing during the break? i’ve been playing a lot of games recently lol

lissie: definitely! i use pinterest for moodboards and also collecting inspo for banners + spotify for the ambience. hence why i have link my fics to playlist and some moodboard (which crossroads have both lol). love how you use the term "mind-cinema" cause it encapsulates my elaboration

i see lol it's okay. i just thought that you had one, knowing that most of the younger people in our country have one. ever since i did a social media cleanse back in 2021, i have been so out-of-the-loop with gen z humour and have always see myself as an outlier even within my friends who are social media famous. the pinterest vids have been nice tho cause i just think because your home tab is so curated by the last pins you see, it will show you things that you wanna see instead of just suggestive posts. genuinely i can go in a rabbit hole on pinterest like i do on reddit

a very appreciative thank you for giving crossroads a chance. i adore that fic so much that it has a sanctity to it. a good fic through and through (and it is not a smut fic, which i'm proud of once again)

i hope the banners are immersive enough because i certainly make banners like i make book covers. some are gifs and full videos and it creates such a good visualisation of what the story would be like. i believe that it helps me with my graphic design skills because i certainly want to explore more, especially cause i'm crossposting fic into wattpad and they need book covers. i am also planning to create mockups for a concept of *if* my fics are made into a physical book (book mockup + inclusion) with inspirations from lost in cult. currently immersed in ideating it for motion picture soundtrack, which i hope will also help me learn blender lol

lissie: yeah, i just read through the explanation for 5w4 and ngl it does sound like me :D especially with the whole hermit image i assigned myself in because it's just elaborating much of the things i mentioned about myself here like out-of-the-box ideas, but also the independence of it all. i have definitely been defining myself as a rebel since high school so yeah, a big fuck you to the trendy tropes indeed (omg would love to read what you think about the sunoo fnaf fic. it was a collab fic to tie in enha fics with fandom aus and people are picking percy jackson or genshin impact, and here is me, writing about fnaf)

i just got game developing passion from the last two years actually like i want to make a game dev company so much + i learned game design during my exchange to the uk, so it solidifies for me. most of my friends are artists/creatives anyway. so i hope that if i'm able to establish that company, it will help them do something they are passionate about. and we'll see about that honestly, cause i had to juggle so many things in life. i'm still chasing after that econ degree :D

yes, there's another jake fic masterlist i posted last year that is a series inspired by a game. it's gonna be an aged-up character fic where all the main characters will be in their early 30s to make the struggle much more realistic. i had genuinely love the part names so much but i will probably do it after terra incognita series. but also...

lissie: thanks for sending an ask! yes, i could see the trademark that you mentioned space-themed: blog appearance japanese film-core: writing style and overall fic vibes i guess

i honestly think that my trademark is pretty much what you said + experimental writings with wide variations of inspirations that i wouldn't shy away from. so, right on the target for you :D

i actually did my enneagram before writing this ask because i forgot what mine was because i did it like 7 years ago probably that i saved on my old phone. my newest one is a 5w4, which i think is pretty accurate

i would say that my side trademark is what i mentioned from your last asks, which is the creative visual aspect of it all, such as banner creation and video editing related to the fics. i, for real, have the desire to create more out of every fanfic. it is actually one of the reasons why i have many ambitious ways to create fanfics.

here are some of the ideas i'm planning, other than the book mockup i mentioned before (which i will reply after this)

smirch's side stories (like mini drabbles outside of the main fics) that are for worldbuilding (starred enhypen & txt 01-03 lines)

chromaquest's "d&d session" where i basically play solo d&d with the characters from chromaquest (mc, jungwon, sunoo, niki) + creating pixel art sprite design for the characters and how they would look in the undertale-deltarune universe

one day, i will return to your side's disco elysium gameplay, where i will be replaying disco elysium with jake's stats (as voted by the readers) so that i can actually write his "inner voice" better for the fic (logic and encyclopedia will be jake's best friends)

ashen (my beomgyu halloween fic from years back) but make it into a written-based choices-matter interactive story with twine

the most ambitious one yet: seonghwa's spirit phone's prologue, but make it a *literal* visual novel, aka i would be learning ren'py (a visual novel game engine) to make it and probably upload it to itch.io so that you all can play on browser lol
