Tony knew this was going to be a fight, but he hadn’t expected Peter to literally crawl up the wall to hide on the ceiling to avoid this. They were vaulted, too, making Tony irrationally anxious. He knew Peter wouldn’t fall, and even if he did, he wouldn’t really get hurt, but it still made the caregiver in him slightly panicked that his little was on the ceiling. 

“Bud, c’mon down, we need to talk about this.” 

“No.” 

“Pete, c’mon.” 

“No!” 

“Peter.” Tony voice got stern. “Come down or you’ll be grounded.” 

Peter didn’t move, only continuing to glare at Tony. 

“One. Two. Thr-” 

Peter started to climb back down the wall. 

“Thank you,” Tony said. “Now, please come sit on the couch so we can discuss this, okay?” 

There was a pout firmly set on Peter’s face, but he begrudgingly sulked over to the couch and threw himself down on it. Tony sighed, but let that one go; he knew he had to pick his battles. Joining Peter on the couch, Tony placed the pacifier he had tried to present to the boy earlier, on the cushion between them. Peter wouldn’t even look at it. 

“Pete, bud, I know this is hard. It’s an adjustment, but I really think you would benefit from using a pacifier.” Tony explained, again, using a gentle tone. “You suck your thumb in your sleep, and you often bring things up to your mouth when you’re playing. It’s clear to me, as your caregiver, that you need the self-soothing comfort of a pacifier.” 

“It’s for babies.” Peter mumbled. 

“Bud, it’s for anyone who needs them, and that includes Littles.” 

Tony was quiet, just letting Peter think. The kid often needed some time to gather his thoughts, and Tony wasn’t going to deny him that, especially with something that was about him. After noticing the thumb sucking, Tony had looked into things, and found that several other caregivers on the forum he had read, had had trouble getting their littles to take to their pacifiers at first. There was still a lot of stigma around certain things when it came to littles, which was frustrating to the caregivers who were just trying to provide the best for their littles. So, Tony knew this wasn’t going to be easy when he decided to bring it up.

Finally, Peter spoke up, pulling Tony from his thoughts. “C-can I just use it at nap time? I don’t want others to see when I’m playing.” 

“Of course, bud. Though, no one would judge you,” He reminded Peter before continuing. “All of this is to make you feel as comfortable and cared for as possible. These designations are there for us all to be our healthiest and best selves, but sometimes it’s hard to get used to if you got a role you weren’t expecting. Everything so far has been a learning experience for you, and that’s okay. If you would feel better only using your pacifier at nap time, that’s okay, too. I just think that using one instead of sucking on your thumb would be more healthy, okay?” 

Peter nodded, and then tentatively reached for the pacifier. He examined it in his hand, turning it over to see the adult sized nipple. Tony watched as he bit his lip and turned it back over to show the front - it was red and blue like Peter’s Spidey suit.

..... hypothetically. Could the curse in Beauty and the Beast work with platonic love? Or familial love between a father and a son or a nother and a daughter?

Take Tony and Peter. Father-son relationship, right?

What if Tony never loved anyone after his parents? Sure he appreciates his servants, but does he really love them? No. He doesn't have any friends in this AU, so no platonic love.

And then he meets Peter, a teenager who wanders off into the woods and gets trapped in this castle and Tony gets furious because it's his private area. But then he sees Peter's doe eyes and breaks a little bit. After spending some time with the kid and getting to know him, Tony just adopts Peter. He is Tony's son now. And Tony realizes he can love. It just wasn't in a way he expected. Tony thought he'd have to find romantic love and it crushed him because he's pushed away everyone he ever cared about, refusing to admit his feelings for them (because there's probably an element of being aware of your own love) and thinks no one can love him.

Then Peter comes along and finds out that Tony is a softie and fills the gap that his parents and various caretakers created over the years and starts to look up to and love Tony as a father figure. And the spell breaks. Because Tony learned how to love, and the curse never specified what kind of love it was.

Would you ever write a series of one-shots for Tony & Peter?

It depends on what you mean by "a series of one-shots!"

If you mean a one-shot collection of totally-unrelated fics, I… kiiinda already do that with my not!fic bits and bobs, but I really only put those on AO3 for archival reasons in case Tumblr ever implodes-- it's not something I would do for longer/more fleshed-out works! I would post them separately in that case so they could have individualized summaries and tags.

If you mean a kind of anthology thing where it's multiple chapters of semi-related "one-shots" along a similar theme, potentially! If I ever get around to writing some of my subtop!Tony/powerbottom!Peter fics, I'd probably post them like this, yeah.

And if you mean using the actual series function on AO3 to link multiple one-shots in a shared universe, I already have wicked love and my Tokyo Babylon fusion!

“But Daaaddyyyyy, I wanna stay!” 

“Peter, I told you, we can’t. The zoo is closing, honey.” 

Tony was slowly losing patience. It was late in the afternoon, it was hot, and Peter hadn’t had his nap yet, which was very evident by his current attitude. Normally, Peter was fairly well behaved. There were a few mishaps here and there, but overall, Peter was the best little boy Tony could ask for. But if Peter was tired, hungry, and spent an afternoon in the sweltering summer sun, well, that all added up to one cranky boy. 

“Daddy, I wanna see the lion again.” Peter stomped his foot. 

Tony raised an eyebrow, a clear warning. They had a rule about stomping feet. Peter looked sheepish, but didn’t apologize. Tony sighed. 

“Honey, the zoo is closing. It’s not me making the rules here, bud.” He explained, again. “We can always come back, the zoo isn’t going anywhere, okay?” 

Peter whined again, sounding like a poor imitation of a whale call, consisting of several long vowel sounds, while flopping his arms at his sides. A few of the other caregivers passing by gave Tony sympathetic looks, others weren’t so nice, and he awkwardly smiled at them. The last thing he needed was for some tabloid to run a story about how Tony Stark was a terrible caregiver and couldn’t control his little. 

“Peter, c’mon, bud. I promise we can come back next weekend, okay?” Tony stepped closer to his little boy and held out his hand. “But right now it’s time to go home and have dinner. C’mon.” 

It took a pouting filled minute before Peter relented, no doubt because he was hungry, and took his Daddy’s hand.  

“Can we have pizza?” Peter asked as they made their way towards the exit. 

“You were acting naughty just now, Pete, I don’t know if we should get pizza.” 

“Noo, Daddy! I’m sorry!” Peter huddled closer to Tony and bit his bottom lip. “If I promise to be good the rest’a the night can we? Pleeeeaase?” 

Tony knew he shouldn’t give in. Give Peter and inch, and he’ll weasel a mile out of you. But aside from the whining when it was time to go, he had been very well behaved. He hadn’t ran off, and was polite to the zoo keepers and other visitors. Plus, once Peter had food in his tummy and some aloe on his pink nose, Tony knew he’d be much more well behaved, so he’d be able to keep his promise of being good. 

Pretending to think it over, making the appropriate hmm noises, Tony glanced over to see Peter looking at him expectantly, eyes wide and pleading. Tony couldn’t keep up the facade of a straight face anymore, and he cracked a smile. 

“Alright, pizza it is.” 

“Yay!”

This happens often enough that it is frustrating and I wanted to say something about it: can I just please enjoy a platonic/familial Tony&Peter fanfic without that enjoyment being broken by the author insulting or bashing on Starker shipper?

I love their dynamic in canon, I love them as mentor/mentee, I love them as father/son, and the reason I love Starker ship is first and foremost the idea that love is stronger than all the potential issues they face for a potential relationship. Because that's what it is: not inherent wrong aspects, but potential issues. And "potential" means it doesn't always become a reality. Fics that explore when it isn't necessarily healthy, or legal, aren't fundamentally different than fics exploring violent themes for example. It's about the messiness and complexity of humanity, which in itself is beautiful. And in Starker, its because I love their canon dynamic and I love the idea of their love being stronger than the potential issues, that I can enjoy darker/unhealthy depictions of the ship. And it's all fiction, which is first and foremost about telling a story. And a fictional story is entertainment specifically because we know it's fiction and no real human being were harmed to make that fiction, nor does anyone depicted is an actual real human being being harmed in the events of the fictional story.

And you know what is the irony? Not a single fic I've read for Starker makes explicit or implicit comment of the same type about people who only view them as platonic/familial. When I read fics for the platonic/familial dynamic, sometimes the author in the notes will call Starker shipper "gross", or disgusting, and sometimes there are moments in the fic itself where for the idea of them together is thrown around and the characters react "ew", which sometimes make sense in context, but other times, it honestly doesn't feel like it make sense to have this show up and have this strong feeling of being in there for a more "subtle call out". But not a single fic for Starker does the same thing.

Most Starker shipper, myself included, respect if someone just doesn't see them this way. Most Starker shipper will think carefully about the tags to put, and you know what I did see often? Starker author who feel a need to state that they don't condone the real life version of the stuff that they write. It breaks my heart everytime because it's so obviously because they know what part of the fandom say about them. They can't even enjoy and write what they like without feeling a need to try and express it's just them enjoying fiction. Non-Starker act so offended, but they're the one who put pressure onto the rest of the fandom that is either platonic/familial only but respectful, or Starker too.

And you know what? I'll come out and say it: what I fucking don't condone is harrassing other people, and butting your head into the genuine happiness of others. What I happily condone is respect, choice, consent, genuine love, and a real wish for each other well-being even when it's hard or complex or messy. If two or more people genuinely care for each other, choose each other, respect each other, wants to try, and have enough maturity for their choice and consent to not be blind? That is what matter. I wouldn't want to see a late teen with an adult, because the amount of potential issues is enormous, and most of the time, it won't work out or it isn't healthy. But to pretend there isn't a tiny amount of cases where it does work out is a disservice to any relationship that started where it was really iffy, and yet worked out for them because they truly, genuinely loved each other.

You know what else I'll come out and say it? I'm a fucking survivor of CSA, and it's so damn healing to see people who enjoy things I enjoy without feeling it's only because I'm "broken", to see that it's something natural in our psyche. I was robbed the ability to grow up blind to what sex is, I was robbed my consent, I was made to feel powerless. But I recovered from all of this, a survivor and not a victim anymore, and growing up, I was always more mature than my age, which meant I knew that it is possible for someone to feel more mature than others people their age. If I fell in love with an adult as a teen, I would have known the inherent risks. And I would have been so angry, and hurt, to be dismissed, for others to try and take away my agency again. I wouldn't have wanted, and still don't want, someone to feel, or feel again, the hurt of your agency being violated. On the other end, even as a teen, and still as an adult, I would be just as angry to see a child or a teen that is being abused or who is in a dangerous situation, where their agency is not properly respected. As a teen, and now as an adult, it pisses me off to see the way people in fandom can act for mere fiction, because all I see are people who ignore and dismiss other people agency. All I see is people harassing and violating other people. Because I know what the real life feeling is like, and I can recognize it a miles away when it happens.

No fiction has either violated me. But people? Oh yes, they do. They don't even have to come attack me directly. Everytime I see them attack someone else, or make certain comments in their author note. And I'm so damn lucky I did heal, and recover. Because even though I did, it still feels frustrating and hurtful. I cannot begin to imagine how it feels like for those like me, or similar to me, who are still healing and have to face this over fiction. Who might not even know why it hurt, or only in part.

So yeah, this has angered me enough to come out and say it: watch what you are doing and saying over mere fiction, because chances are, what you are doing is violating other people. Abuse, and violation, aren't always sexual or even physical. Emotional&mental abuse, emotional&mental violation, are just as real. And fiction cannot abuse or violate, because there is no one real inside fiction, there is no power. Only real people can hurt others this way.

I didn't spend years healing and recoving to be walked over by people who either don't undestand, or who do but unknowingly (or worst, knowingly) become the abusers. And you, who enjoy dark fiction of any kind, especially "problematic ships", especially ships like Starker?

Thank you. You're the ones who sees what I see, even when you never experienced what I did, and I hope you never had to. Not the ones who act on supposed moral high grounds, but you, you are the ones who truly understand. I am angry for your sake, because I know what it feels like to be violated in the worst of ways, and I never wish anyone to be violated in any way. So thank you for looking into these topics right in the eyes, and knowing there is nothing wrong with enjoying them. Thank you, especially, to the ones that actually point out when the situation is entirely legal, if not risky, and those who show how such ships can be healthy, for unknowingly recognizing how people like me would have felt if a similar situation had happened in real life. For recognizing where the line is between what is violation, and what isn't.

You're attacked so many times from content exploring darker topics, darker depictions of ships, or ships who aren't inherently dark but have potential issues, so for once, I want you to hear it: thank you.

I'm reading and having feels so I wanted to make a post about Peter&Morgan, and a bit of Morgan with the rest of the crossover family. And a bit on Peter, Morgan, Tony and Pepper once Peter&Morgan return to their origin world.

Note: if you don't already know, this blog features Starker, and as Morgan's existence suggest, I do acknowledge canon aka Tony&Pepper were together, but I also write that, during their marriage, it turned queerplatonic then platonic, so they're not together anymore by the time Tony&Peter get together!

I decided to not settle down for a specific idea of when Peter and Morgan interact again after NWH, only that it ends up happening. And when Peter starts to work with Soul to launch the Rewind spell (which of course I wanted to speak of these two before I even explained what exactly Peter is doing that led him to being flung out his origin world), that is when he will have Morgan with him.

The reason is that her soul is attached to his. The Rewind will make time go back prior to her birth, and Soul will handle all the souls of everyone in the same case, but Peter wanted to personally care for Morgan's soul. But when they land in Link's world, she's actually able to be given physical presence, although she is still a soul.

Peter never tries to replace either of her parents, although neither of them speaks of each other as siblings. It's more so external people that can view them as such, but Peter&Morgan call each other family. "Dad/daddy" and "mom/mommy" are the terms she use for Tony and Pepper, so when she first calls him a parental term, her mind settles on "mamma". Fun hc: Morgan knowing what she's doing when she says "I have two mom and one dad!". But also fluffy: "There's my dad, there's my mom, and there's mamma who was there for me when dad and mom weren't able to".

Where Peter is like family and a parent to Morgan, the other four are like brothers to her and they happily call her their little sister. And there's a wide extended family, brothers and sisters in the sages, and Zelda, and Gan (name TotK!Ganondorf prefer to use since he's his own person now). I don't know yet where it comes from, but I also love the idea that everyone starts to call Morgan "little princess".

I mentioned earlier that Morgan is still a soul, just physically present, and she isn't the only one in that kind of situation. Ireth and Wei Wuxian both arrive without their body, as kind of spirit/soul. Them, and Morgan, stays as this kind of physical spirit/soul, as the crossover family figure out that, while they can give each of them a proper body back, they need to make it happen in their respective origin world.

So please now imagine when Peter&Morgan go back to their origin world, and imagine Tony's face when he discovers that, not only is Morgan not gone, Peter is kind of carrying her within his own soul, and he'll be able to pretty much give birth to her spiritually once he has the proper means to. I don't know which is better: that it happens before, or after they get together. Or that's how they get together, because Tony goes so feral with adoration that he just has to kiss Peter.

Make no mistake though: everyone will still treat Pepper as Morgan's mother. But now? She's able to say "I have two mom!" much more literally than she used to. Which is another thought: imagine Tony's face the first time Morgan calls Peter "mamma". Even better if its after Tony knows Morgan is still there (and she can actually still show up with a physical presence), but before he learns that Peter has a way to make her "be born" again. Maybe Peter didn't want to give false hope until he's certain? And/or it's because he'll have to explain about the crossover aspect and there are reasons to wait about that reveal, and so, the reveal that Morgan can have her own body back?

But yeah, imagine Tony's face if Morgan is able to show up, first by the sheer fact his daughter is still here, then by the whole fact she calls Peter "mamma" and also the sheer witnessing of how Peter&Morgan act together. Maybe that's when Tony is certain his feelings did become romantic? And then his face when Peter reveals that he kind of is able to spiritually give birth to Morgan so she has her own body back. And that's when they kiss for the first time.

Also that's like, need to be a whole post of its own, but Tony&Pepper do remember the old future, but I write them as growing queerplatonic during their marriage which discussions of seeing once Morgan is older if they want to have a friendly divorce or just stay as they are (either way they know they will always be there for each other), so when they find themselves in the past, they decide to not pursue a committed relationship.

However, everyone still very much views Pepper as Morgan's mother, and she's still part of Morgan's life, and Peter&Pepper gets along very well. Like mentioned, its a whole post of its own waiting to happen, since Peter&Pepper grew close after Tony's death and had discussions about how Peter's loss affected Tony, and the way Tony's loss had a similar effect on Peter (in short: they lived through the saying "you don't know how much someone means to you until you loose them").

So yeah, Peter&Morgan are family, Peter&Pepper are family, and Tony is forever awed that he was given such a happy ending: all his loved ones, alive and happy, and he's here with them, and to see his daughter grow up.

(Note: I did consider polyamory aka Tony being with both Peter and Pepper, however I personally wanted to explore this specific route of Tony&Pepper turning queerplatonic then platonic, and mirroring that, Tony&Peter growing from platonic mentorship to queerplatonic friendship to romance).

I saw a really cute pianist au for starker and I raise you Peter as a prodigy flutist undergraduate student and tony as the university accompanist so of course they have to work well together and spend a lot of time practicing together. It starts off as platonic but slowly Tony starts to push Peter and demand more out of him musically (almost a whiplash situation except with intense flirting) and Peter can't help but just fall in love with him. Ugh fine I'll write it sometime this week lol

Can you please post something on why you ship Starker? Their interactions in the films or their chemistry or. .?

There are a lot of layers to this answer, anon.

Do I think that based on the movies alone Starker would make sense? No. But it's clear that there are additional interactions between the characters that we don't see.

If it weren't for the sizeable age difference, Starker would be far far more popular, because when laid out the two characters have a lot in common. They're both scientists turned superheroes who are plagued by loss that causes them to love extra hard. Sure they're still very different in many ways, but they have a lot of characteristics that complement each other.

The characters have a great back and forth and clearly care about each other deeply. While most people compare it to the affection between a parent and child, some think of it as something more. And once again, if it weren't for the age difference, I'm sure no one would be thinking a familial relationship.

Lastly, Tom Holland and RDJ can take partial blame as well. They have amazing chemistry and love for one another, which shines through into their work. I hope they have other films together in the future, because they definitely have something special. They're both tremendous actors, but you can't fake chemistry, even platonic chemistry.

Last but not least, Tom Holland and RDJ are both ridiculously attractive. I think that's what started it for me and then everything else just kind of evolved from there.

Hey this isn’t an attack or anything love the posts. I’m part of the starker and irondad fandom, but mostly indulge in aged up Peter when it comes to the former.

Just wanted to say not to worry about how your posts are viewed. People will literally impose whatever they want through whatever lens they are looking through.

I saw the post that supposedly started the argument and the people that say it can’t be platonic are kinda being ignorant and judgmental for people who ask for people not to be judgmental to them.

Like I literally have moments when I take my mother’s sweater and she’s like someone is taking my clothes. She knows I’m wearing it, I know I’m wearing it of course I’m gonna reply with a sarcastic “idk maybe some is stealing our clothes” because I’m a brat and that what kids do. It usually ends with an eye roll and me now having a new sweater. I will straight up tell anyone I don’t know who ate the last cookie while eating said cookie in their face, it’s a joke.

The people that are trying to impose their thought process when all you want is fluff and comfy corner blows my mind. It’s not like you don’t know they exist you’re just asking not to be involved and apparently stating that and setting boundaries is considered edging them on is ridiculous.

Sorry it ended up being a rant, just do you. If people want to perverse that, say your piece, block them, and move on cause they won’t change their minds and you definitely shouldn’t change yours.

My Get Smart ships

Max/Hymie (it’s never stated that he loves Max in more than a platonic way, due to the time Get Smart takes place that would probably be a bad idea, jeopardizing if not both of them than Hymie for sure. I am of the firm opinion that Max/Hymie is canon as much as it can be, it’s just that it’s unrequited love on Hymie’s part.)
