i’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. i think we need more of platonic percabeth, bc people constantly ignore the purely iconic friendship they had before they started dating. like, yk, the entirety of the first series?

anyway sometimes things got worse. sometimes, when annabeth would return home after summer, everythinf would come back. and she would be this scared little kid again wondering if her parents would ever love her. and sometimes she just had to leave because she couldn’t take it. sometimes she would return to camp, and embrace chiron, who loved her more than her own father.

but one time, when annabeth was 14, her mind took her to the jackson household. why? she didn’t know. but sally welcomed her with open arms, and percy was beyond thrilled to have her there. percy and annabeth beat the crap out of each orher with pillows. they stayed up late and watched their dinner bake in the oven. percy forced asked annabeth to marathon marvel movies with him, eating caramelized blue popcorn all night. percy taking annabeth to his favorite skating park. percy and annabeth going on late night grocery runs. sally teaching annabeth to make her famous seven-layer dip.

Unpopular opinion time.....

So remember that time in Mark of Athena where Annabeth said that she had a crush on him since they were twelve? I have some doubts on that. I truly whole heartedly believed that till the end of The Lightning Thief, Annabeth liked Percy as a friend 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺. We can see from the very first book that Annabeth is a very calculative individual and that is shown very clearly in throughout the entire series. You should also remember that there was an one sided rivalry atleast till the train scene where Annabeth actually opens up. The reason she agreed to put up with Percy atleast till a certain point is because she wanted a quest and literally no other reason. She wanted to hate him obviously because he was the Son of Poseidon but she did admire his good qualities and I believe in a platonic way only. I think that Annabeth started developing a crush on Percy during the Sea of Monsters. Maybe because they were alone for most of the journey and hence kind of relied on each other extensively. Maybe she got to know Percy a little better now and NOW developed a crush. In my opinion Annabeth and Percy's relationship was platonic very clearly till Sea of Monsters. I guess the quest to get Grover really did bring those two close together and made them see each other in a way beyond friends. I feel like Rick just put that line of the crush in Mark of Athena for just a "Invisible String" or soulmate angle which personally I don't like because Percabeth in my opinions are the epitome of Enemies to Friends to Lovers (Just like Anna and Gilbert from the book series Anne of Green Gables). They were friends before they developed a crush and they we're enemies before becoming friends. You can't draw a line for each phase but we all know that its there. So yeah that's about it. Thank you for hearing out my rant!

Platonic Percabeth.

•In the future, when Percy has a baby, he will definitely name him after Annabeth, for example olivia/Sofia cora if it is a girl and Chase if it is a boy.

•Annabeth is the godmother of Percy's baby, she absolutely adores this baby and always ready with pleasure to look after him so that Percy can relax or go about his business.

•Annabeth would definitely give the scariest shovel talk to Percy's new boyfriend or girlfriend. This is her best friend and soul mate, even if in some way he will be harmed or offended.

•Annabeth and Percy will still stay close to each other and will still be inseparably close, just not romantically.

This is all great, especially the shovel talk one! I imagine Annabeth would give a fair ferocious shovel talk.

i hate how sometimes people make out rachel to be this tragic heartbroken mess. WELL FRIENDLY REMINDER THAT

he had left for too long. he hated to leave you at camp without him, but Luke swore to keep you safe. you weren’t aloud to come along, not like he wanted you to come anyway because it was too dangerous.

percy should have taken you.

you grew close with luke in the time percy was gone because he took you under his wing and reminded you of your big brother. he was kind, and taught you many things. even protected you from everyone! he told you the kids were acting nice but wanted to hurt you so you needed to stay with him. luke was your best friend.

his words got into your mind and took over your own thoughts. it was easy thanks to how percy treated you, poor you couldn’t think for your own. so when he told you how cruel the gods were and how dangerous they could be. even how your father treated your brother like a soldier and that was a perfect plan on his part.

“y/n, you shouldn’t be here.” Percy yelled as annabeth stood next to him with her dagger drawn. you creep closer with wide eyes at all the weapons pointed.

“What’s going on?”

“Nothing! Go back to your cabin and stay there,” annabeth looked at you and tried to soften her features to make you feel safe, “we are all okay.” you bite your lip and nod along, you didn’t think of it and went to walk away.

Luke watched you turn your back, he couldn’t bare to lose you now. “Y/n, this is your time. Remember what I told you?” Percy glanced between the two of you. what was he talking about?

“The gods?” You turn back around.

“Y/n go back to your room!”

“No y/n! Remember the stories I told you? Come with me?” Percy tightened his jaw and glared at luke, wanting to stab him in that moment. You are his sister and he dare try take you away?

what surprised everyone was how you walked to him instead of percy. you grabbed ahold of his extended hand as the other hand pointed at percy with his sword. luke felt smug that you choose him. so he smirked at percy victorious.

“I’m going with him! I’ll make sure to be good!” even now you still didn’t understand what was happening. yet you sided with him? percy felt furious.

“you sly bastard! while I was out there risking my life you decide to take what is mine? I’ll kill you!” he stepped closer ready to lunge at him but stopped when you stood in front of him.

“Don’t hurt him! I promise brother it’s what is best, luke said so!” You point at the older boy. “He wouldn’t lie to me!”

annabeth got upset and rolled her eyes, “you think you can take her luke? in the middle of your war what would happen to her?” she moved closer like percy, “you can’t protect her.”

“Like you can? At least she will be on the winning side.”

Percy didn’t care anymore and went for Luke and pushed you out of the way, you fell to the ground with a cry. your eyes filled with tears at the small pain you felt and the two fighting before you. annabeth came over to check over you for cuts and patted your head while hiding you in a hug. she wasn’t mad at you, you were just too naive to see what was happening.

“She my sister now, Percy.” Luke smirks as the portal opens behind him, “just a matter of time before I get her back.”
