DBH characters with actor/ess reader who played a deviant hunter in a sci-fi series

So, the idea I had for this is that the reader (can also be an OC) played a deviant hunter in a low-budget sci-fi series. The series was created by the reader and their good friend. Since they were broke college students at the time, all of the actors were their family members, friends and acquaintances.

The reader has stage fright and isn't comfortable in front of the cameras, so they don't speak/they have barely to no lines in the show. Their moves are also very robotic because of the fear, which ends up being a good thing for the character they are portraying.

As time passes, the reader gets more comfortable being on camera, which comes off as the "deviant hunter" becoming more human. (I would still like to keep the reader from speaking unless strictly necessary since it would be OOC for the "deviant hunter")

The series was posted on a site like YouTube (idk if they have YT in the game).

It wasn't very popular, but it gained a cult following.

After the revolution, a film studio contacted Reader and friend and offered to fund a remake. The studio also gave Reader and friend crew, equipment and everything else they needed. The catch is that they need to bring back the original cast.

After a stressful couple of months of filming and putting everything together, the show comes out. The reception is mixed. Some humans and androids don't even want to give it a chance because of the current climate in the world.

In this story, Hank is still working with Connor. Maybe he even adopted him?? He remembers hearing about this show and decides to show it to Connor. They are both pleasantly surprised when they watch it. Connor can relate to it on a level he didn't with any other movie/series about robots he consumed.

RK900 or Nines (as the fandom likes to call him) is working with Gavin. They can be lovers or not, it's up to you. Regardless of their relationship status, Gavin shows Nines the show (if you watched the fan-made movie, it's the scene where Gavin tells Nines that they should watch I Robot so Nines can relate to something).

I believe Nines would be more affected by the show (much more than Connor) since he is more stoic. It would help him realise he doesn't need to be more talkative to show people he cares.

If the RK boys run into the reader, they will definitely try to strike up a conversation. Connor will have a much easier time, but I feel like Nines wouldn't waste this opportunity since this might be a once-in-a-lifetime kinda thing.

The reader would be uncomfortable talking about their acting since they are very self-conscious, but they would be very pleased to hear they were able to help someone, even if just a little.

I'm not a writer, so I will leave this idea I had here in case someone is interested. I am aware some people on this site take fic requests, but I'm honestly not comfortable asking strangers for favours. If you decide to write a fic about this, please tag me. I would like to read it.

✦ Favorite platonic relationship: RK brothers!!! Connor, Sixty (RK800-60) and Nines (RK900) all interacting and being cute adorable family. I'm losing my mind I love themmmmm 🥺

✦ Favorite design: I REALLY like Nines' design. His blue/grey eyes..... omg. His white jacket is sooo pretty and striking, and I honestly love his dorky-ass high collar. He can pull it off!!!

✦ Least favorite design: probably the default clothes for more domestic androids like PL600s and AX400s. I'm just not rlly a fan of whatever aesthetic they've got going on there.

TK forces a smile for what feels like the millionth time tonight. Around him, the town orchestra swells its sound, and men and women dance joyously across the ballroom. He'd prefer to be on the floor with the rest of them, most likely making a fool out of himself, rather than stay here and dodge question after question.

"I'm afraid not," he says.

"You're sure?" the woman, some special guest of the clergy, pushes. She has on a ridiculously large hat with the bright tail feather of some exotic bird sticking out.

"I believe one would know if one spent their childhood in a completely different realm." Carlos appears at his side, and TK's knees could buckle then and there in relief. He nods at the woman. "Lady Veronica," he says cordially.

She smiles, and it's all teeth. "Is that you, Sir Reyes? Oh, how long it's been."

"Yes, it has," he replies. He takes another step between her and TK, redirecting their conversation. "I see that you've been well."

"Your father simply goes on and on about you, you know? We're all so very happy for your opportunity to go on this little…" She looks him up and down, almost like a predator in disgust of its emaciated prey, "…excursion."

"Speaking of my father, he's been looking for you. He needs to discuss some dates with you and your husband." He's fully blocking her off from TK.

Thankfully, she seems delighted by the prospect of blabbing passive aggressively to the general, and it doesn't take much more coaxing to get her sauntering off. TK's shoulders fall. "I thought she'd never leave," he groans.

"Quite a character, isn't she?"

He smirks. "You two seem to have some history."

"She always suspected me of courting her son."

"And did you?" TK asks a little too quickly for someone trying to be as nonchalant as he is.

Carlos shrugs. "She never had any proof." He leans in and whispers, "and neither do you."

Late Dawns And Early Sunsets Over Detroit

Hey y’all! This is another rewrite of an older D:BH work that I had uploaded to AO3 back in November of last year. There’s not much plot unfortunately so be warned, but I hope you all enjoy it! Title is based off of “Early Sunsets Over Monroeville” by My Chemical Romance.

They looked at their bike leaning against the shed, untouched in years with dust collecting on top of it. The sun was just starting to set, and the air was warm on their skin. Zach and Gavin stood behind them, watching them grab their bike. They had all wanted to go to a convenience store to grab some snacks and drinks before settling down in one of their basements to watch a horror film.

“C’mon. Hurry up and grab your bike. We’ve gotta get going before your parents start to think you actually aren’t studying for your chemistry test tomorrow,” Zach grumbled.

“Keep reminding me and I’ll walk to the library and actually study instead of watching a movie with you guys.” They brushed the dust off of their bike.

They all pushed their bikes out of the grassy backyard, the wheels rolling against the pavement underneath it. Getting on their bikes, they started off in the direction of the convenience store. The sunset followed them, painting the sky with orange and purple trails, and casting shadows on the ground near them. 

It was quiet between all of them, a peaceful quiet. Even though it was quiet, there was some slight tension in everyone because of the upcoming midterm exams. They could see how it was laced in their words, how it blurred their vision, how it tensed their muscles. But that didn’t matter at the moment. They were all together, spending time away from their assignments, away from stress.

A few minutes later, they all arrived at the convenience store, the neon lights glowing against the glass at the front. Setting their bikes at the front of the store, they all headed inside, the rush of cool air blanketing them. From what they could see, the store was empty, except for a worker at the front counter.

Wandering through the aisles, they thought about what they wanted to eat. The bags of chips with seemingly so many different flavors sat on the shelves, different seasonings of peanuts and almond mixes were in a box nearby, and a large variety of candy with questionable amounts of sugar in it was proudly displayed in the front near the register.

The hum of the fluorescent lights above them buzzed, and the mechanical whir of the refrigerator filled the silence of the convenience store. They could hear the footsteps of their friends in the store, along with the faint music that played from the front counter.

They looked over at Gavin, who was staring intently at the bottle of sweetened tea in his hand in front of the refrigerator door ajar.

“Get me one too Gav.” They said looking over their shoulder.

He looked over, seeing them in the chip aisle looking through the large assortments and flavors.

“And get me one too,” he said, mocking their tone previously.

They both looked in each other’s direction, making eye contact and remaining silent. Laughter then erupted from the both of them quickly and they proceeded to grab a few bags of chips for the group. They started walking over to Gavin, noticing the few bottles of tea in his hands and arms. Taking a couple of steps back, they realized that it wouldn’t be the best idea to be in his way at the moment.

Heading to the counter with Gavin following behind to check out, they noticed that Zach was already there ready to pay for his food. His bottles of pop, bags of chips, and boxes of candy overtook the counter, with some of his food still in his arms.

“Oh c’mon you guys, what are we doing?” A look of disappointment painted his face.

Gavin gave him a smug grin and shrugged, a usual response of his, while they just sighed in response.

The employee rang up all of the items and announced the total cost to the group.

“Okay, that’ll be $26.75. Cash or card?”

They all fumbled through their pockets, digging up any cash or spare change they could find.

“Cash please,” Zach said, handing the worker a $20 bill. Gavin handed them a $5, while they handed a couple of quarters with a $1 bill.

Walking out of the convenience store, with chip bags and pop bottles in hand, or rather, in arms, they all laughed together, sharing playful banter.

“No way Gav ate a damn roach back in the eighth grade?” Zach wheezed. 

“Damn right I didn’t!” he huffed. “They’re lying!” He denied the memory that they had brought up. Gavin looked absolutely hilarious trying to contain his rage, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment, his arms overflowing with chip bags.

“Look at you struggle, Gav,” they giggled.

Zach looked them up and down from the side, and then retorted with, “Just like that one time you tried to learn how to roller-blade because someone mentioned to you that they liked roller-skaters,” he said smugly.

“Hey, that means I put in effort into trying to connect with others,” they scoffed.

“Yeah, but you slipped and fell on your behind right in front of them.”

They opened their mouth, attempting to form a comeback, but nothing came to their mind. The group started laughing, their arms full of 2-liter pop bottles, boxes of candy, and chip bags. Their faces were illuminated by the lights outside of the store, and they could see the deep blue sky that had a band of orange and yellow near the horizon.

“Guys, not to crank your wagons, but uh,” Gavin paused for a moment, “how are we going to get on our bikes and bring all of this back to my basement?”

Zach looked at Gavin with a blank stare. “What. What did you just say.”

“I said, ‘How are we going to get on our bikes and—”

“No, before that,”

“Uh, ‘crank your wagons’?”

They both looked at Gavin in silence, before turning their attention back to the situation presented to them. 

Standing there in front of their bikes, they tried to come up with a solution. None of the bikes had a basket attached to them, unfortunately, and no one had a backpack with them.

“Wait no guys, give me a minute.” Gavin set the bags of chips on the ground near Zach’s bike and walked back into the convenience store.

Zach looked at them with a puzzled glance, confused at what Gavin was doing. It wasn’t the first time Gavin had an idea, but the last time he did have an idea, someone got stuck in a tree.

A couple of minutes pass by, and Gavin walks out of the convenience store with a couple of milk crates and bungee cords.

“So uh, I had to ask the employee for some milk crates, and they said yes.”

“And where did you get the bungee cords?” they asked.

“Aisle 1, near the souvenirs. You know, with the air fresheners and car decals and weird sunglasses.” He shrugged.

He looped the cords through the holes of the milk crate and then secured it onto the inner handlebars of his bike. “Ta-da!” He waved his hands for emphasis. “You guys love me.” He grinned.

Everyone stared at him blankly. 

“Yeah you can say that I guess,” they said.

Gavin feigned an expression of hurt before attaching the milk crates to everyone else’s bike. Once the crates were all attached and filled with the snacks and drinks, they all started off back to Gavin’s house.

Biking towards the fading sunset, they knew that the future would be uncertain. They all knew that tonight was just a glimpse of it. But the peaceful silence settled between them again.
