is pierced. he did almost all of them himself, alfred has a heart attack everytime he spots a new one

the public has a weird badboy image of him, bruce has no idea where it came from

dick claims it helps him think, bruce knows it's because he doesn't want to be alone

bruce loves the relationship dick and selina have, might be a little jealous that cat got through to the boy much faster than him though

after taking in dick, bruce makes sure to show alfred that he actually does see him as a father figure - regrets all the times he told him that alfred's not his father

hella curious thing by the way; in Gotham season 1 when Bruce comes to pick up Selina —whom he's completely enfatuated with— in order to take her on a dangerous dual adventure, Selina is wearing a fairy-like floral fit complete with botanical motifs.

The first thing that Bruce tells her is, "Selina, you look very lovely."

And then in season 4 when he first goes to meet Jeremiah in order to take him on a dangerous dual adventure, Jeremiah is a borderline mythical creature living in a labyrinth in the middle of a fucking forest.

🦇🐈‍⬛ They actually have a symbol on the Cipher Wheel: a pair of bat wings! Because of this, Bill refers to them as Wings a lot. 🦇🐈‍⬛

🦇🐈‍⬛ Speaking of Bill... She accidentally summoned him the same way Ford did years ago: by reading that incantation in the cave! However, she didn't make any deals with him. (She actually just thinks he's something her brain dreamt up - that he isn't a real creature!) She kind of becomes friends with him since he keeps visiting her dreams... (he was trying to get her to make a deal, but she didn't know that XD) He's been visiting her regularly for several years, and she just thinks he's her imaginary dream friend! X'D 🦇🐈‍⬛

🦇🐈‍⬛ However, once Ford shows his picture to the kids, she is SHOOK. She tries not to let Ford know that SHE knows him though... it's kinda complicated - Like a mixture of embarrassment and being afraid he'll think she's working with bill... 🦇🐈‍⬛

🦇🐈‍⬛ That night when Bill inevitably visits her dreams, she tries to distance herself from him... Which he doesn't seem to like very much! :o ( tbh I think Bill actually started getting attached to this weird little human XD Platonic, romantic, idk but he's definitely attached :o ) 🦇🐈‍⬛

🦇🐈‍⬛ After she kinda broke off the friendship/relationship thing with Bill, the events of several episodes and eventually weirdmageddon happened! ( I don't have concrete details yet on some of these things though. Maybe later! ) 🦇🐈‍⬛

I’m kind of confused why some people hate… In general. Like I absolutely love the BatCat, of course. The canon and most absolutely beautiful ship in the whole world, mostly because they are literally my parents, I was born from their love. And I also love the SuperBat cuz… Why not? Clark and Bruce relationship is just so fucking adorable but like, also hella funny and either as friends, best friends, work partners or boyfriends, I don’t give a fuck, I just love them. And then WonderBat, I also love it, I genuinely can’t stop reading fanfics about them because they are so cute, a gorgeous buff Amazon Goddess with a handsome buff emo billionaire? Bro, I don’t know if I want them as my parents or my partners. And all kind of other ships, not only of Batman but in general. And yeah, of course there are some that I don’t like, like BatJokes that I don’t get it and I wouldn’t ship it, I guess I like some of their fanarts or animations, but I only like them because of the art style most of the time, but I get why some people like them, just because I don’t doesn’t mean I have ANY right to tell other people what they have to like or hate. And then there’s the batcest that I don’t really follow, like Jason and Dick or Damian and Tim, I’m just not into it, I don’t get it, I liked some of the fanarts because how cute they looked until I saw some of them had the shipping hashtag and I still liked them because it’s still cute and I visualize them as platonic, brotherly, paternal, motherly and strictly non-romantic. I present to you a Batman AU timeline wherein Selina Kyle is the richest person in Gotham City and its first vigilante, protecting it with her expanded, somewhat rearranged Catfamily. Bruce Wayne is a master thief and self-made socialite. But this is not a basic one-to-one swap! I have tried very hard to do every character justice while adapting the parts of comics canon I accept (basically the post-Crisis/pre-Flashpoint universe plus Duke), which is why it’s ridiculously detailed. There are 60 PAGES.

Featuring:

Selina and Maggie Kyle, Leslie Thompkins, Holly Robinson, Barbara Gordon, Helena Bertinelli, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain and Kitrina Falcone being main characters.

Characters who age consistently, despite how little comics continuity wants to conform to the real progression time. I will make it make sense -

Characters who are allowed to be happy and romantically committed, and have meaningful development addressing their flaws and traumas in coherent narrative arcs. Their growth is not always linear, but never just undone. The Cats make healthier choices than the canon Bats make at times, like going to therapy, due to their different contexts and relationships, so there’s overall less angst and self-destructiveness. But they’re still incredibly traumatised and frequently messy about it.

Female characters who are written with respect, complex interiority and agency.

Deep, nuanced relationships, foil dynamics (familial, platonic and romantic) and vigilante philosophy.

New costume designs and codenames.

Emotional support cats for everyone with a Greek mythology naming theme.

Maggie doing cool, important stuff as a civilian and not being fridged and stuck in a mental hospital for years.

Holly being a superhero.

Babs becoming Oracle and staying that way.

Villains dying or reforming and staying that way.

The Chief by Monica McCarty comes to mind immediately--Scottish medieval where he is literally caught balls deep in her, but like... He thought she was a wench sent to his bed, and she thought her dad was gonna walk in before she got like, penetrated, so he literally rolls onto the floor and is then like "FINE. I'LL MARRY HER." which is bad because for political reasons he really didn't want to. Obviously, he later becomes obsessed lol.

His at Night by Sherry Thomas has a hero VERY grudgingly marry the heroine because people walk in on them. They weren't having sex, but she intended to compromise his brother and force him into marrying her--the hero basically intercepting her scheme and is super resentful because he knows exactly what she was doing. Also, for spy purposes he's been pretending to be quite stupid, so she's not very psyched about marrying him either. It's actually a very funny book lol.

Her Prodigal Passion by Grace Callaway has the hero, this major rake, kind of stumble into the heroine's room without the intention of ravishing her, but naturally everyone thinks that's what was happening, so now they're married. (She's loved him from afar for a long time as he's her best friend's brother, but he's a messss.)

Magnate by Joanna Shupe has the self-made hero get caught making out with the blue-blooded heroine.... in public... by her brother.... and now he has to marry her. Her brother is PISSED lol.

Fiona and The Enigmatic Earl by Grace Callaway does not have the hero take her virginity, but he does give her an orgasm--and they come from close families and they're both hot and it makes sense so he's like sure whatever, but it turns out that both he and his new wife are doing tons of crazy vigilante shit on the low. It's very batcat lol.

Ravished by Amanda Quick begins with the hero and heroine getting stuck in a cave overnight, and he's like "I mean listen I'm gonna have to marry you anyway so we might as well fuck" and she's like "meh sure" and from there a lot of wild shit happens because as it turns out it's NOT THAT EASY.

When a Girl Loves an Earl by Elisa Braden has an oBSESSED heroine and a very resistant hero. She's determined to have him (he's got trauma and is big Scottish even though she doesn't realize he's Scottish lol) so she sets up a scenario where it looks like he was compromising her, and then he's like "FINE THEN LET'S GET MARRIED" all angrily.

Devil's Bride by Stephanie Laurens has a variation wherein Devil and Honoria end up spending the night at a cottage (platonically, though she does snuggle against his bare chest) while his cousin who just got shot bleeds out on a table in front of them (classic Cynster) and the next morning everyone is like "you must marry"... and the twist is that Devil has decided while Honoria was sleeping that she's The One so he's like "ABSOLUTELY" and she's all "FUCK NO" because she wants to be an independent spinster governess!!!! A lot of the book is him trying to sell her on the marriage as his infatuation grows into genuine love.

Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas has baby St. Vincent get stuck in what looks like him railing Pandora, and he's of course obligated to propose. She's reluctant to accept.... BUT LOL....

Spike (3,470 words) - the kudos leader by far. I gave Tim roofie trauma, invoked by being stealth drugged at home. Kind of a spite fic categorically, but I think I'd prefer awareness as an intention over spite 😂 this author's life has been a bit weird Tim in a Bottle (38,683 words) - Tim, trapped in an industrial freezer with Jason, is attacked by memories in the text equivalent of a bottle episode. I know it combines two tricky qualities-- extensive conversation in one room and flashbacks-- but it seems to work alright anyway lol Tap Out (8,002 words) - Jason and family attend a gallery event for Damian, and Jason reflects on trusting Bruce. Now that I think about it, this is quite a lot like both Spike and Tim in a Bottle 😂 Except Tim (2,772 words) - Tim gets lost in the woods with his abandonment issues for company. Featuring both Bambi and Lady and the Tramp references Harvest (30,129 words) - Bruce and Jason harvest some corn and engage in hallmark movie emotion-having. I like the punchability to huggability ratio Bruce has is this

Yep! Sometimes, lol. I'd love to answer all of them, but I don't have the spoons. I still reread and kick my feet over them though

Hmmm... Pretty much all my fics have some kind of comfort ending. I'm gonna go with a friend, though he may wander far, because of the guilt and injury it ends on.

Again, they all strive for a relatively happy ending... so I'll say sweetgum, which is pretty angst-free to begin with.

Every once in a while, but nothing memorable. Mostly they're some kind of out of nowhere complaint about deviation from canon, at which I tap the 'alternate universe' sign and delete

I don't. Not my thing!

I stubbornly hold out hope for the completion of all my WIPs. That said, probably the Jason & Tim horror one lol

Weaving in flashbacks has gotten good feedback. In general, I think I'm pretty good at being concise (at least, I find editing off words a lot of fun)

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Being a little too concise or obscure, sometimes 😂 losing clarity. Overcomplicating things until I either have an unwieldy WIP on my hands or have sacrificed my motivation for solving all the mysteries before I write the fic

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've played with it a little. I think <using brackets> so the translation is in-text works best for me

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Star Trek: The Original Series, unless you count the thinly veiled MASH fan comic I messed around with

20. Favourite fic you've written?

make me a cradle (1,811 words) - wrote this in a semi-fugue state and I'm uncommonly satisfied with it-- Alfred's voice has a neat quality, it's sufficiently punchy, and it does exactly what I wanted it to do. It even manages a comforty ending! Ironically, it's my lowest ranking fic by kudos 😂 probably owing to the sensitive subject (attempted suicide) and being marked incomplete (with another sensitive subject, grief over Jason's death, promised). (Now that I think about it, I think I might have stealth released this also lol) Seriously considering marking it complete, though, since it stands well on its own. The mentioned follow up might happen someday, but the mood to write incredibly sad fic doesn't happen very often!

I like batcat, wonderbat, ghostbat and hellbat (solely because it's funny) and I looovve Bruce and Zatanna being teen sweethearts who have parted but are still very fond of eachother (does that count as a ship lmao). Batlantern is the only one that makes me craaaaazy though, who'd have guessed 😭

As for everyone else... I like timkon and I think that's about it? Weirdly not something I've given much thought for the others, I prefer their platonic dynamics I guess 🤔

All my DC ships involve Bruce since he's my all-time blorbo, and I find a lot of Bruce's relationships interesting. I've been a Batman fan for a long time, and I've shipped different things in different moments. One of my first Bruce ships was actually Wonderbat, with Superbat being a close second (very much due to the Justice League: Unlimited animated series, which then got me into comics Wonderbat and Superbat as well). I kinda shipped the Trinity as an OT3 for a bit, but Superbat was the ship to win out for a longer time, especially because of the Injustice: Gods Amons Us games and comics, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As of recent, I'm also very fond of Ghostbat. Otherwise, even though I don't necessarily ship them, I like Batcat, Brutanna, Brutalia, Twobat/Bruharvey and Riddlebat; both from a romantic and a platonic standpoint. I also find the relationship between Bruce and Alfred very interesting, and his dynamic with Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian and Cass too, when it comes to the Family. Oh, and Kate too, I love their interactions.

To be honest though, ship-wise, it's Batjokes and Superbat that I hyperfixated most on (still working on a comic timeline for both, and then some). Which is kind of funny, since the two are as different as night and day. Batjokes is literally "I can make him worse," while Superbat is "I can fix him." Although I'm not really active within Superbat since my understanding of the ship is a lot more angsty than what I've generally seen in the fandom. While I can certainly see them getting together, I don't think the relationship would last, and I would kill for a good break-up fic... (If anyone's got recs for that, do send them my way.)

If i were besties with Jyushimatsu I'd send him on quests to get the shit I need from the store and I'd always give him 5 dollars so he can get his own shit

If i were platonic, nonromantic besties, not a hint of being in love with him at all friends with Todomatsu I'd also info dump about batman for 94 hours straight and then I'd convince him to couples cosplay with me and we'd do a batcat marriage photoset and the certificate we'd sign would be real <3
