In court on Monday, one of Mangione’s attorneys claimed his client has been turned into a political pawn, robbing him of his rights as a defendant and tainting the jury pool. The attorney pointed to comments Mayor Eric Adams made last week on PIX on Politics with Dan Mannarino, among other actions by the NYPD. “I am very concerned about my client’s right to a fair trial,” said Karen Friedman Agnifilo. Outside the courthouse, there were signs and chants supporting Mangione.

NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) – A U.S. military veteran’s documentation was questioned during an ICE raid at a New Jersey seafood depot on Thursday, according to Newark Mayor Ras Baraka.

Luis Janota, the store’s owner, told PIX11 News he believes Hispanic workers were targeted when they were asked for papers by the agents.

In a series of interviews early Friday, Eric Adams, the ethically crippled mayor of New York City, left open the possibility of rejoining the Republican Party. Adams was a registered Republican from 1995 through 2002 before switching over to the Democratic Party. But when asked whether he’d consider switching his party affiliation (again) Adams chose to dance around the issue.  “The party that’s most important to me is the American Party. I’m a part of the American Party. I love this county,” the mayor said during an appearance on NY1. During a second interview with PIX11, he was similarly coy on a possible party shift. “No matter what party I’m on or vote on, I’m going to push for American values,” he said. 

Finally, when pressed again, Adams said that he does plan to run for reelection as a Democrat. “I’ve been a Democrat for many years. And I’m going to run for reelection as a Democrat,” he said. “But my focus is the American people and the people of New York City.” A switcheroo on Adams’ part wouldn’t be all that surprising. Adams has long been critical of Democratic immigration policies and previously accused President Joe Biden of being too lax when it came to dealing with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. At one point, Adams went so far as to say that an influx of asylum seekers would “destroy New York City.” “Every community in this city is going to be impacted,” Adams said at the time. “We have a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut—every service in this city is going to be impacted. All of us.”  More recently, Adams has gone to great lengths to not offend or antagonize President-elect Donald Trump, whose racist and anti-immigrant messaging toward migrants (he’s called them “animals,” “stone cold killers,” and “the worst people,” among many other horrid names) increased tenfold during his third bid for the White House. 

[...] Adams’ shift in tone could, of course, be related to his legal situation: He remains under federal indictment for bribery and campaign finance offenses and may be cozying up to Trump with the hopes of him dismissing U.S. v. Eric Adams. Indeed, his openness to Trump has enraged Democrats because of the power Trump will have over the five-count criminal cases Adams faces in federal court.  Then there’s the added wrinkle that Adams apparently believes he was unfairly targeted (another action straight from Trump’s playbook). He implied in a November interview with the Wall Street Journal that he was purposefully singled-out by the federal government following his criticism of the Biden administration’s perceived lack of action on immigration. “There are a lot of other people unhappy that I fought for this city,” Adams said.

I absolutely adore the title cards; the "fangs" reflecting main locations of the episodes/seasons. GOD this show's attention to detail.

We open with Lou & Claud in Paris bickering about French & money; already shown in the Pix11 preview (I gave my opinions on the full scene, and another post about Claudia specifically.

Then we get Dubai. O_O Omfg. I made a separate post all about Louis & Loumand, cuz those queens were DIABOLICAL this episode.

Skipping ahead a bit! To the coven/theatre! ^0^

Ohhhh....that's a Children of Satan/Darkness nod! 👀 Only thing's that the old guard from the CoS/D actually weren't part of the Coven/Theatre anymore by the time Louis & Claudia arrived (Alessandra, Eleni, and the rest of Rhoshamandes' fledglings Santino indoctrinated & had train Armand).

So Armand is REALLY showing off, tryna impress Louis; cuz none of the members of THAT Theatre troupe are older than Armand, and not even he's as old as Charlemagne. Armand, your yaoi is showing. XD

It's wild how on one hand we have the coven simping over how pretty Louis is (except Santiago, cuz ofc 🙄); while just HATING on Claudia.

Sure, Jan. 🙄 But not all violence/abuse/trauma is physical/sexual. By allowing the Theatre to put their hands on Claudia, Armand harmed Louis more than anyone ever could. Claudia was the glue keeping Louis together when he was already falling apart, and he hasn't been right ever since. BOTH of these dudes are living in a fantasy, frikkin la-la-land, as they think they're HELPING e/o, going thru all these theatrical acts & performances. But are they REALLY happy? Esp. cuz we know who's endgame for them in the books. It's bittersweet, cuz their affection's REAL. But this weird codependency just isn't healthy or right. U_U

As for Lestat, his cold willful detachment stems from his attitude that humans are just The Meat. This version of Lestat is SO dang jaded, that humans are reduced to mere food--just like he called Miss Lily.

He doesn't need the Evil Doer creed, if he thinks ALL humans are evil/irredeemable; only worth living if they can sing & make music or something artistic. Otherwise who cares? (Which makes it VERY interesting to see what AMC!Les would say to Memnoch the Devil....)

According to an Emerson College Polling/PIX11/The Hill poll for the 2025 New Jersey gubernatorial election, Trump’s approval rating has unexpectedly risen for the first time, securing a 48 percent favorable rating among New Jersey voters. The president now has a higher favorability rating than the state’s Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy. Forty-six percent of New Jersey voters view Trump unfavorably, while six percent remain neutral. On the contrary, Murphy has a 44 percent favorable rating, 42 percent having an unfavorable view, and 12 percent remaining neutral.
