Well, you have to agree that it wasn't really hyperbolic. Kaidan confessing his love for Shepard is simply not true, and people will inevitably jump on that. I'm just saying, if you're annoyed by people trying to "correct" you (and that's not what I'm trying to do here, btw), maybe try changing the wording a bit?

And it's not about the soft boy here. At least when people who like Kaidan call him soft, they don't follow it with the words "basic man" and "generic noodle". The way I have to make sure I don’t get on Mass Effect tiktok because they ALWAYS end up hating on Ashley is so annoying. I swear people played the og Mass Effect once, killed Ashley during that play through and just never thought about her again besides miss remembering her comments.

How many times do I have to say it people. ‘I can’t tell the Aliens from the animals’ is triggered by being around Keepers. In universe there is a on going conversation about what the hell the keepers even are so while her comment is in poor taste she isn’t talking about any sentient being.

The ‘Bear Vs Dog’ monologue is a metaphor where humans are the dogs and the person is the Council. Her point is that the council would throw humans under the bus in a heartbeat and Oh, come ME3 she is completely right.

If you bring her along to the conversation with the  terra firma guy she makes it extremely clear that she doesn’t like them in anyway, even before she gets character development. She the hates her grandfather being used by them and strongly opposes them uses his history to promote their racist messages.

ALL the teammates in the og Mass Effect said dumb shit. Garrus in particular makes some shity comments. Because a group of random wildly different characters that start off distrusting each other but grow to love one another like family is a huge part of all the games.

But oh, Ashley is a woman so she gets to die while the boring soft boy gets to live.

Metropolis: Scavengers as far as the eye can see, the city atop of Five Pebbles has no rain and some of the best threat music. Metropolis has a lovely design especially those pearl rooms as well as a above the clouds view [so we can see the stars.] Metropolis is basically a city in the sky.

Outer Expanse: No rain, no ascension to get in, your slugpups will not dissolve upon entry, pretty design. Outer Expanse is a beautiful and bustling region, filled with scavengers and squidcadas it is the canon ending place for 3 whole slugcats, Outer expanse also has amazing tracks and a view of Five Pebbles.

As someone who watched both.

Apples and oranges. They are different types of shows with different proposals, they aren't even the same genre of show and while they use the same format on the sense of being audio dramas they follow very different narative formats. The only things they truly have in common are the eye imagery, queer representation and criticizing capitalism, at most the weird elements, but even than they have a different purpose.

Nightvale is an absurdist and existencial horror comedy whose main focus is to tell good short stories and not to have a consistent world building. It is inspired by both is main writers and main VA (Cecil Baldwing) work in experimental theather. It also has a hopefull aproach as it talks about the problems but also the strengh of small united comunities.

TMA uses diferent forms of horror but is mainly eldrish and is more importantly a horror tragedy. It had from the start the objective of creating a horror anthology that connected in a continous narrative so continuity matters a lot. It was inspired by Jonny Sims love of horror but while not as clear we can see the influence of Jonny's previous work as a part of cabaret storyteller band. It's tone is very bleach and focused on impossible moral dilemas.

The one thing I will personally give is that I think TMA has a better overall quality, where it's worst episodes are still enjoyable and way better than WTNV worst episodes, TMA is constantly good and the fact it has a consistent narrative helps.

That being said WTNV - for me - it's better at it's peaks. When WTNV does a great episode it is PHENOMENAL (the most recent I can think of is A Story About Him). It unfortunally also has genuinally bad episodes (a thing I think TMA does not have although TMAGP has one or two) that are really eeh (cof cof Father Kevin cof cof). But like Nigthvale at his best is in my opinion better but on the other hand TMA at it's worst is still pretty good while WTNV really isn't.

But also like can we not pit two bad bitches against each other? (I love them both sooo much).
