If you look up interesting anti-piracy methods in games, a lot of compilations will include Spyro: Year of the Dragon, with its (in)famous warning from the checkpoint fairy followed by such oddities as crashes, disappearing collectibles, and sending you to the wrong level. Kinda reminded me of alien abduction tropes. And pirates could kinda sorta be considered invasive, right? (Look me in the eye and tell me Nintendo wouldn't think so, at any rate.)
