she's sure that hanna doesn't mean it as an insult, but it still hits a nerve, a harsh reminder that pippa hasn't been going about this as well as she thought. she doesn't have any friends waiting for her back at home, and it's not lost on her that the friends she's made in college so far have been more about proximity than they have been about a genuine connection, but she is trying to navigate this new world where she actually has a fresh start at something she never got the chance to have before. and she meant it when she said hanna's her best friend — even if the options are limited. lucy and bree are great, but despite how much time she's spent with them, she's never felt like she could actually open up to them. and even though she hasn't done that with hanna either, she still feels closer to her than them — like she actually has the chance to be real with her.

TELL ME LIES, 2x07 "I'm Not Drowning Fast Enough"

                             Recomendaciones | Febrero

Holii! 

Quería empezar este apartado porque yo siempre estoy buscando títulos nuevos y muchas veces no se ni por donde. Estas recomendaciones las haría una vez todos los meses y con géneros diversos. 

Empezaríamos el mes de Febrero con dos de mis géneros favoritos (algunos de estos libros tienen subgérenos) 

• Los primeros que voy a recomendar se pueden meter, generalmente, en el saco de Thriller peeero aun que todos lo sean, en realidad alguno de ellos destacan por otro género como el del suspense, horror, misterio...

Empezando de arriba a abajo tenemos Diez de Gretchen McNeil, categorizado como suspense o terror, es un libro único de 360 páginas publicado en 2014 del que no podrás dejar de leer ni un segundo, es bastante sencillo por lo que es una lectura ligera y siempre desde un punto de vista único, en este caso de nuestra protagonista Meg.    

“Cuando Meg y Minnie reciben una misteriosa invitación a una fiesta en Henry Island, no dudan en mentir a sus padres para no perdérsela. Es una oportunidad única antes de empezar la universidad. Al llegar a la isla, conocen a los otros ocho invitados y encuentran un DVD con un siniestro mensaje: «La venganza es mía». Meg empieza a sospechar que algo no va bien. Una terrible tormenta los deja aislados sin electricidad ni wifi, y faltan cuarenta y ocho horas para que llegue el próximo ferry. El primer cadáver puede interpretarse como un suicidio, pero aparece otro... Entonces, Meg comprende que el mensaje iba en serio. ¿Podrán Meg y Minnie salir con vida?”

El segundo es Éramos mentirosos de E. Lockhart, categorizado como suspense psicológico, también es un libro único de 288 páginas (muy cortito) publicado en 2015. Este libro en un par de horas te lo lees, aun que al principio no parece que tenga mucha chicha a medida que pasas las hojas se vuelve mucho más interesante y el final es un plot twist que no te lo ves venir ni de coña, me flipa que los libros tengan mapas y este lo tiene explicando la isla donde se desarrolla el libro.     Comprar aquí

El tercero es Chicas salvajes de Rory Power, categorizado como horror, es un libro único de 480 páginas publicado en el 2019 es un libro que está en mi TBR y que probablemente me lo lea en una tarde que no tenga cosas que hacer y no me apetezca argumentos muy complejos ya que por lo que tengo entendido es un libro fácil en el que se cuenta desde dos perspectivas que se van alternando.     Comprar aquí

El cuarto, del que disfrute muchísimo y lloré, es Asesinato para principiantes de Holly Jackson, categorizado como thriller/misterio, tiene una segunda y tercera parte pero que están, por ahora, en inglés pero no son necesarias de leer, quiero decir que si te lees el libro y ya puedes porque el argumento se cierra al final del libro pero si quieres saber más sobre los protas puedes seguir leyendo. Tiene 432 páginas y está publicado en el 2020.    Comprar aquí

Y el último de este género es Todo lo que sucedió con Miranda Huff de Javier Castillo, categorizado como thriller, es un libro único y denso de 450 páginas y publicado en el 2019. Tiene capítulos con distintos puntos de vista y saltos en el tiempo por lo que tienes que estar atento.      Comprar aquí

• Los siguientes cuatro libros son YA, young adult, que es un género muy muy muuuuuuy leido, creo que es de los más populares que hay en el momento. 

Volvemos a empezar de arriba a abajo con Vampire Academy de Richelle Mead, su temática es de vampiros. Es una saga de seis libros, este primero tiene 392 páginas y está publicado en el 2014.    Comprar aquí

No bajes nunca la guardia... Cuando el destino depende de ti.

Los dhampir no pueden enamorarse. Son exclusivamente guardianes y están obligados a protegerse continuamente de las mortales amenazas de los strigoi (los vampiros más violentos y peligrosos, los únicos que nunca mueren). Esto es un problema para Rose cuando descubre que su tutor en la Academia de vampiros va a ser Dimitri, por quien se siente más que atraída. El único rival a su medida es también el único que puede ayudarla a salvar a su mejor amiga...

El segundo es Asesina de Reyes de Virginia Boecker, es la segunda parte de una bilogía en el que el tema que trata es sobre brujas. Tiene 456 páginas y se publicó en 2016.   Comprar aquí

El maestro de Elizabeth, el retorcido Blackwell, se ha coronado a sí mismo gracias al poder de su magia oscura. Ahora es el nuevo rey de Anglia. Elizabeth y sus aliados corren más peligro que nunca, y encima, el curandero por quien ella lo arriesgó todo ha cambiado mucho desde que le concedió el poder regenerador de su estigma. ¿Qué opciones de ganar le quedan si se enfrenta a la magia de Blackwell como un humana normal?

El tercero es Tres coronas oscuras de Kendare Blake, es un saga de cuatro libros bastante fuerte tengo que decir. El primero tiene 384 páginas y esta publicado en el 2017.    Comprar aquí

El cuarto y último es La bruja negra de Laurie Forest, también trata sobre brujas pero esta vez se desarrolla en un colegio especial de magia donde engloba más personajes mágicos aparte de brujas. No sé exactamente si es una saga o trilogía porque en España solo están los primeros dos libros mientras que en ingles hay como dos o tres más. Tiene 608 páginas y se publicó en 2019.  Comprar aquí

💖 Valley Valentines Prompt 3 💖

Mona rubbed her eyes tiredly as she sealed the last card with a shiny heart sticker. She set the card down on the large pile she had accumulated and let out a relieved sigh. She had spent a considerable amount of time writing out letters to each recipient (letters the mod was too lazy to write) and spent and equally long amount of time selecting the perfect glittery envelope and sticker to put them in. Mona stood up and stretched out her cramped limbs before looking over the the pile of cards with a warm smile. She would spend tomorrow putting the cards in each persons mailbox since she was too embarrassed to give them the card in person. It had taken a lot of built up courage for Mona to be so sincere in her letters, but she knew her friends would enjoy them regardless. With that affirming thought, Mona walked towards her bedroom ready to fall into bed and pass out.
