The moment I began to regain consciousness I felt a lot of pain. Blinking my eyes open I instantly shut them seeing bright lights shining above my head. Finally peeking one eye open I got adjusted to the brightness enough where I attempted to move forward seeing I was inside a large metal dropship compared to the one I came down in two years ago.
Unfortunately the second I went to take a step forward my body was yanked backwards rather harshly making me nearly scream till I bit my lip. “Agh! - smart play using zip ties.” Eyeing my wrists and ankles were held down on metal poles.
Shifting my gaze around the room I didn’t see many shortcuts to escape. The hatch in the floor was shut and there were zero sharp objects I could use to snap my restraints so I was a sitting duck. My pack and weapons were laying on the opposite side of the room beside a makeshift chair. “We’re smarter than you people think we are, grounder girl.”
“Bellamy.” I muttered barely above a whisper not hearing the metal hatch open and close before I noticed the boy with curly hair sitting a few feet away from me on the makeshift chair.
He pushed himself up to stand , coming to stand directly in front of me. “You’re friend downstairs isn’t much for talking. So I’m hoping you will be up to having a conversation with me. What’s your name?”
“Cassio.” I simply replied preferring to be called by a nickname Glass gave me then my full birth name the Ark had given me. “Yours is Bellamy, right?”
He sent me a slight glare. “You were listening in on our conversations weren’t you. What did you find out about us hmm?”
“That they sent you down here like lab rats to die. You may look at us like we’re the enemy who wants to kill you but you should consider the ones who put you all on this ship and dumped you down here just to save the place you came from. Doesn’t sound like you’re leaders care too much about anyone but themselves.”
Bellamy lifted his head silently biting his lips as he took in the girls words before himself. In the few weeks they had been there he had declared the same philosophy to get the majority to remove their wristbands.
There was something about the way she said the words with such anger that he began contemplating if she was from the Ark or not, but he instantly pushed the crazy thought to the back of his mind.
“How many of you are there?” Bellamy asked me.
“12 different clans with over thousands upon thousands of grounders and only about 80 of you now. Is my math right?” I tilted my head to the side smirking until I heard a girls voice shouting from downstairs even though the metal hatch was shut.
“This is Raven Reyes. I- I'm from Mecha Station. I'm transmitting from the ground. The hundred are alive. Please, you need to get Doctor Abby Griffin. Doctor Abby Griffin. Now!”
My whole body stiffened up when I heard someone say her name. It had been a long time since I’d heard my mothers name. It sickened me to my stomach.
All that hate and pain coming back to the surface.
Bellamy saw my facial expression completely change. From where he was standing I appeared very pale and like I had seen or rather heard the name of a ghost. “You know someone down there don’t you, grounder girl?”
“N - no I don’t.” I did the best lie I could.
Yet it was like he could see right through my facade now where he stomped over yanking me up from the ground. He firmly held me by my forearm with my hands still tied behind my back by zip ties. “You’re lying and I’m going to find out why soon enough. Come on, let’s get your ass down there.” He pushed me down the ladder where I landed harshly on the harsh metal floor with half the group's attention on the radio and some of the others looking at me.
My mothers voice brought tears to my eyes that I couldn’t hide. “Raven? Are you there?”
Shifting my gaze over to the girl that was standing next to the one manning the radio it wasn’t difficult at all for me to recognize who it was. “Mom? Mom it's me.” The familiar figure of long blonde hair that belongs to my sister spoke towards our mother, even though she didn’t know I was her sister.
“Clarke?” Our mother asked with such relief in her tone over the radio static.
Our mother made sure of that with all the lies she spewed out over the years.
“Bellamy! What the hell are you doing to her? She could’ve been severely injured.” Clarke, my sister whipped her head around dropping down on her knees searching me over for any injuries.
He jumped down the last two ladder steps coming over to the two of us. He lifted me up from the floor dragging me by my blonde hair making me wince. “Gah! Bellam - no, no, no. I don’t want to!” He pushed my head down on the table beside the radio.
“Clarke, what was that commotion?” My mother questioned through the device causing me to whimper, clutching my eyes tightly shut, hating that I am showing emotions around members of the people I hate.
Clarke came up behind Bellamy who was holding me down with all eyes focused on the three of us. “Bellamy, this is not who we are. This grounder didn’t kidnap Octavia or kill any of our people.”
“That isn’t what this is about. She knows you’re mothers voice and I want to know why.” He barked back at her.
My sister made a confused face. “You think she’s originally from the Ark. How is that even possible?”
“Yo curly haired dude.” I finally spoke, raising my voice to get his attention.
He lowered his head down where our noses could almost touch if either of us moved forward towards the other. “You wanna tell us who you really are now?”
“I’ll tell you whatever you want to know just not how I know the doctor on the radio.”
Bellamy yanked me upward and pushed me up the ladder then he pushed me down in the corner beside my friend who was beaten badly. “Lincoln…”
“Which one? Which one is it? If you tell us, they'll stop.” My sister begged my friend who was tied to the wall with chains. Bellamy had been repeatedly beating him with a seatbelt strap until she got down on her knees and begged my friend. “Please tell us which is the antidote and they'll stop this.”
Bellamy tossed the strap on the floor turning on his heels grabbing me up to stand. “If that doesn't work, maybe this will.”
“Bellamy, don’t hurt her.” Octavia his sister begged him before he picked up the poisoned knife in his freehand, dragging me directly to stand in front of my friend.
He suddenly made me cut whatever I was about to say short once I felt the cold blade pressed against my neck drawing some blood. “Bellamy, he won’t-“
“You’re friend won’t let you die. He’ll have no choice but to tell us the antidote to save your life and Finn’s.” Bellamy growled in my ear speaking towards my sister in a softer voice. “Clarke, you don't have to be here for this.”
Unfortunately I knew my sister wouldn’t back down from saving someone. She was exactly like our mother. “I'm not leaving until I get that antidote.”
“No more!” Octavia shouted, pushing me out of her brother’s tight grasp before he could cut my throat.
I collapsed against the nearest wall behind me. Pressing my body against it as much as I could not expect her to react in that way for someone she didn’t even know. Holding a hand to the small wound on my neck as best I could manage I didn’t utter another word.
Bellamy raised his voice. “Octavia what the hell are you doing?”
“He won’t let me die.” She muttered looking at Lincoln who nodded his head at the last vial that she had shown him.
Clarke takes the vial from the girl rushing down the ladder. “Thank you.”
Bellamy tried to help his sister up from the floor but she smacked his hand away. He slowly shifted his dark brown eyes over in my direction where I sucked in a breath unsure of what he would attempt to do to me next. He bent himself down on one knee brushing some of my messy hair out of my face. “What are you going to do with me now, sky boy?”
“We’re keeping you both here in our camp. Your friend will be here as leverage and we’ll use you to gather as much information as we can. And I know you’ll do it because if you don’t I’ll start hurting your friend. Do you understand that?”
I gulped nervously before he climbed down the ladder and shut it leaving me upstairs with Lincoln chained to the wall. “I understand, sir.”

To Choose Who Lives And Who Dies - THE 100 REWRITE Chapter Thirty-One
[THE 100 MASTERLIST]
Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
Summary: Bellamy and Michelle had made a choice that sealed the fate of hundreds of their people, only making possible for 100 of them to survive inside Alpha station, but Clarke chose to keep their people in the dark, doing the exact same thing Jaha had done on the Ark. Everyone worked hard on fixing the ship, unaware that most of them wouldn't survive the radiation coming their way. Raven, Clarke and Bellamy argued over this for days and when they found Jaha trying to leave camp with the rover, they confront him, and he claims he has a lead - a way to ensure the salvation of all 500 of them, but is it another one of his whims that will cost people's lives? As were Mount Weather and Alie?
Words: 5.7k
Warnings: The 100 season 4 spoilers (episode 3 "The Four Horsemen"), title from a quote from the book Storm Siren by Mary Weber, angst, heart to heart, grief
Everyone was working hard to get the ship ready for the radiation, the black rain and everything that was yet to come their way. They made a choice when they decided to free their people from the Azgedan and they were now over 500 people in Arkadia, all while the ship, even fully fixed and prepared, would only sustain a little over a hundred people, as Raven said. Michelle wasn’t the only one to now realize that for the sake of a few, they comdemned 400 of their people and Clarke didn’t tell any of them, to use their hope as fuel for their determination to get the ship ready. Raven was mad about it and Michelle did feel responsible for it because she chose to make this choice, with Bellamy. He wasn’t the only one to blame. When the others had all voted, they looked at each other knowing they would follow whatever choice the other made and Michelle wanted to help them, and he did too. She wondered, if she had chosen the opposite, to bring back the hydrogenator, if he would have followed her call. He most likely would have, to be honest, but she didn’t. And neither did he.
“Two meals a day for people working as hard as ours, we won’t make any friends.” Bellamy said as they walked into the room. Raven was standing on the last step of a ladder, her back to them, blowtorch in hand as she repaired the structure of the ship. Clarke was pushing a full cart in front of her.
“Well, if there’s one thing our people understand, it’s rationing.” Clarke declared. It was true, with what they had to do on the Ark, it would make sense for them to understand the urgency of the situation. Michelle helped as they put away the plastic pockets of vacuum-packed food on the shelves. “Besides, once we close those doors, it’ll be one meal for the next 5 years.”
“Try one meal every other day.” Raven lifted her protective mask and turned towards them. She stepped down from the ladder and took it off. She was very much, and understandably, still bitter regarding their choice about the hydro generator, and the fact Clarke chose to lie to everyone. “Hunting parties are coming back with less and less. Thanks to your friend Niylah, we’re preserving more meat than ever, but it’s still not enough. Without a way to make water, growing our own protein like we did on the ark is not an option.” She stuffed her mask in Bellamy’s hand as she spoke. “Remember that when we’re starving.”
“I won’t be starving because I won’t be inside.” Michelle instantly looked up at him, frowning. Thoughts raced through her head, and she parted her lips, but she said nothing.
“Yes, you will.” Clarke was about as confused and as against it as she was. Michelle subtly shook her head – no, she wouldn’t let him sacrifice himself to make up for the decision he made. She made it with him. If he stayed outside the ship, she would too, and she quickly realized, as she thought about it, that her father would never let her die but if she stayed alive, Bellamy had to stay alive as well, otherwise how was she supposed to just go on with her life after basically letting him kill himself. It would be just like when she almost lost her father. She would never have been able to go on with her life. There were only three people whose deaths would destroy her – her father, Clarke, and Bellamy. When Clarke was away, she survived thanks to her father, and the thought that Clarke was alive.
“Does that mean you made the list?” Raven enquired.
“No. What about drinking water?”
“Clarke, don’t change the subject. We need to know who’s gonna be on the inside of these doors when the radiation comes.” Bellamy and Michelle were both watching them talk from the corner of their eyes as they kept on putting away the food, but she would have a chat with Bellamy later.
“We don’t need to know now.” The conversation was cut short when a voice came over the PA system. Sick people were at the camp’s gate. The four of them rushed outside and at the gate, the guards were holding a bunch of grounders at gunpoint, warning them not to come any closer. Bellamy, Clarke, Michelle and Raven broke through the small crowd and the line of guards to see what this was about. They recognized one of the grounders, Nyko, as he put a little girl on the ground. Two others were bent forward, on their knees, coughing. Michelle squinted her eyes, looking at the woman. Her long, dark red hair reminded her of someone else’s and as Clarke slowly walked up to them, she realized it was Luna.
“What if it’s a grounder attack like they did with Murphy?” Miller wondered, wary. Michelle shook her head.
“No, that’s not it. Bellamy, look, it’s Luna.” She patted his arm with the back of her fingers and pointed at the woman. He wasn’t sure as they couldn’t see her face, but she recognized her hair and was convinced it was the grounder from the oil rig, though her hair was less voluminous than it was then, and dirtier. She and Bellamy followed Clarke as she walked up to them.
“What happened to them?” She asked.
“The sickness. We lost more than 40 on the way.” The woman she thought was Luna coughed, lifting her head slightly and Bellamy finally saw it was actually her.
“Luna?”
“See? I knew it was her.” Luna looked up at them, weakly. She looked beyond exhausted and drained of all her energy. She exchanged a gaze with Michelle, probably wondering how she recognized her, but she then looked at Clarke.
“Please, don’t turn us away because of what I did to you.” Clarke didn’t say anything, turning to her friends next to her. Abby then arrived, joining them outside the gate. She put a cloth over her mouth and nose, just in case, but quickly took it off and got to her knees to take a close look at the little girl in Nyko’s arms. Clarke kneeled beside her while the others watched.
“Mom, what is this?”
“Fever, lesions, vomiting. It’s ARS.”
“What’s ARS?” Bellamy asked, really speaking for all of them as none, aside from Clarke maybe, knew what she was talking about.
“Acute radiation sickness.” He, Raven and Michelle all exchanged a glance as Clarke stood up.
“When did the symptoms start?”
“I’m not sure. Right before the fish started dying.” Luna said.
“The fishs are dying?” Raven spoke. If animals were dying, this meant less food for everyone.
“Floating on the sea to the horizon in every direction.” Nyko added.
“It’s not contagious. Let’s get them to Medbay. Come on.” Abby helped them up and Raven went with her and the grounders. Clarke went next to Bellamy and Michelle, who had kneeled next to a young woman lying on the ground.
“It’s already here.” Neither of them said anything else to Clarke’s statement. It was grave enough. What Alie had warned them about, the nuclear power plants melting and the radiation and everything coming, was already there. It it had hit the oil rig out on the ocean, it was but a short flight for land. Michelle immidietaly thought of her father still in Polis and pulled her eyebrows closer in worry, staring at the ground, hoping he would come back to Arkadia before it reached the city.
Tumblr media
In Medbay, the sick grounders were getting worse, barely moving from their beds. Clarke was further in the room, with her mother and Jackson, discussing their state and possible treatments. Bellamy and Michelle walked in, looking around. She winced in disgust at the sight of Luna vomiting black blood into a bucket and frowned worriedly as she reached for a cloth and approached to give it to her once she was done. It was quite painful to see her like this. It didn’t matter that they weren’t close to her. Michelle felt Bellamy standing just a few inches behind her and his hand gently finding her shoulder.
“You think I deserve this for refusing the flame?”
“No.” Michelle replied, a mere second after Luna spoke. “No one deserves to suffer.”
“Besides, this would’ve happened anyway.” Bellamy added. Clarke came to see them.
“This is all that’s left of my people. Can you save them?”
“We’ll do everything we can. You have my word.” They took a few steps away when she coughed again, to talk, just the three of them. “Tell me something good.”
“Raven’s looking for us.” He walked back to the door, his hand sliding down as he let go of Michelle’s arm and they left the infirmary to go find Raven. She brought them to the computer screens and one of them showed a map, with dashed lines linking the rig to Arkadia and Polis.
“So, Luna’s rig is here, and if the fish in these waters are dying, well basically we’re screwed.”
“I don’t understand. Alie said we had 6 months.” Hands on his hips, he looked at the screen with a subtle frown.
“We don’t.”
“Well, then how long do we have?” Clarke wondered.
“It’s hard to say. Radiation is dispersed by jet stream and carried by ocean currents, so it’s not an exact science, but the leading indicators are small species die-offs — fish, insects. Based on the new data, I’d say we have… Two months of survivability…” Clarke looked defeated as she turned her head towards Bellamy and Michelle, and they seemed just as stunned. “Maybe less.”
“The ark won’t be ready.” He said quietly, shaking his head.
“It’ll be close. If we triple the man hours and work round the clock, we should be able to achieve a hard seal before the black rain comes. We just have to decide who gets to live here.”
“Raven, we’re not talking about the list again.”
Michelle sighed, “We have to talk about it.”
“Yes. Michelle’s right, Clarke. We are running out of time. We have to make a plan for the day we close the doors, drill for it, make sure only the survivors have guns, agree on protocols for dealing with the people who are pissed off they’re not chosen. You asked me to be in charge of rationing, and I’m doing it, but choosing who gets to live or die is your speciality.” As she was about to respond, the sound of the Rover’s engine reached their ears and she turned around, glancing over her shoulder. As Raven then added, no one was scheduled to take the rover. They walked briskly in the corridors and exited through the hangar’s doors. The SUV was right outside. Jaha was inside. Bellamy knocked on the driver’s side door, ordering the old chancellor to get out of the vehicle and opened the door.
“I need to make a run.”
Raven took a step forward, “All supply go through me, and you shouldn’t be working on the patch to sector 5?” Bellamy gave a nod to the side motioning for him to get out. Jaha stepped out of the rover and the door was slammed behine him.
“A patch for a ship that can only save a hundred people? Why are you surprised? I am an engineer. We have no way to generate water. The harder number is 400. Can you really sentence 400 more of our own people to death?”
“We don’t have a choice.” She exclaimed. They glanced over their shoulders at the people working nearby. They were looking at them after hearing her raise her voice at Jaha and quickly looked away.
“What if you do? What if I told you there might be a fallout shelter less than a day’s drive from here – a fallout shelter built to sustain thousands?”
“What if it’s like Mount weather or your fucking city of light? Both were your ideas, and they were terrible ideas – hundreds died.” Michelle spoke crossing her arms over her chest, glaring at Jaha.
“We’ve been through the chancellor’s file anyway. All the bunkers you considered for the hundred were listed as compromised or unviable, and now Mount Weather is too.” His eyes went from Michelle to Raven.
“Those were government bunkers.” He turned back around and opened the driver’s side door but instead of it being to get back into the vehicle, he handed something to Clarke. A notepad showing an article.
“A doomsday cult?” Bellamy read as Clarke swiped right to look at the other articles on there.
“That’s right – the second dawn.”
“They built a bunker?” She took her eyes off the small screen.
“Their whole theology was based on riding out the end of the world.
“And why didn’t you consider it?” Raven enquired. Michelle listened and looked at the notepad as Clarke read and swiped. There were lots of articles on this.
“We couldn’t prove it existed.”
“So why are you considering it now?” Bellamy wasn’t the only one of them to be doubtful of his intentions with this new plan of his. They were all distrustful of him after all that happened because of him.
“Because before now, we didn’t need it.”
“You found it, didn’t you?” He looked around before answering Clarke.
“We can’t be sure unless we check it out.” And on that he wasn’t wrong, and Michelle looked to the side, annoyed, her arms crossed in the same fashion as Raven’s. Both were reluctant to listen to the man. Michelle even more so. He did put her in solitary confinement when all she ever did ‘wrong’ was being Clarke’s best friend and knowing something she shouldn’t have known and for that she was then as much of a danger as Clarke was. And she was a pretty defiant teenager back on the ark. It was a known fact that she often talked back to her mom and though she wasn’t the kid she used to be anymore, she still heavily disliked Jaha and if he happened to be in a life-or-death kind of situation, she already knew she would let him die. While she was thinking, she heard Raven and Clarke argue. Raven wasn’t about to let Jaha take the rover.
“We need that rover for hauling pieces of a 3-ton patch we’re build—” She was cut off mid-sentence.
“Yeah, but if he’s right, we don’t need a patch.”
“Can I talk to you guys for a second?” They stepped aside to speak in private, out of Jaha’s earshot. “Can you, Michelle, please remind Clarke what happened the last time Jaha went looking for salvation, as you’ve already mentioned, in case Clarke wasn’t listening?”
Michelle sighed through her nose, letting her arms fall to her side, glancing at Jaha from the corner of her eyes, not so sure anymore of what to say, though she perfectly knew what Raven was referring to – what she had said about the city of light killing hundreds of people because of Jaha’s whim. She didn’t say anything this time and Bellamy spoke in her stead.
“Raven, if that bunker is real, we can save a lot more than a hundred people.”
“If it’s not, we’ve lost another day.”
“Hey, look. If it’s not, I’ll make the list… Okay?”
She sighed, glaring at the three of them, “Do what you want. I’ve got a ship to seal.” They watched her leave before turning to Jaha. This time, Michelle was the one glaring while Bellamy took his place in the driver’s seat, and they sat in the back and drove out of camp. Clarke was in the passenger seat at the front with Bellamy and Michelle was especially unhappy to have to sit across from Jaha, her arms crossed as she leaned back. Clarke watched the video linked on an article and the voice of a man doing a presentation on a stage rose from the notepad.
“The end is coming, and it’s coming soon.”
“He gave this speech two weeks before the bombs.” Jaha said. Michelle slightly lifted her head to look over the seat and Clarke’s shoulder at the screen, the man speaking was the founder of this Second dawn thing, shoulder-length hair and a beard, he kind of reminded her of how her father looked with his beard and hair too, but in black.
“The world is dark and getting darker all the time. Everything we once trusted has turned on us — government, religion. Even technology has become a weapon in their hands used to poison our minds. I know you’re in pain. I know you’re afraid, but it doesn’t have to be like this. There is a way out of the darkness. I can show it to you. You can be saved. Join us, and together, when the horsemen come, from the ashes, we will rise.”
Clarke handed it back to him, “Please tell me you have more than this.”
“In the two years before the bombs, Cadogan sold off most of the second dawn’s real estate holdings, generating tens of millions of dollars, but there was one thing he didn’t sell.” Michelle had seen him swipe a couple times across the pad’s screen before giving it back to Clarke to show her something else. Michelle leaned forward, resting her forearms on her thighs. “I found this in his autobiography. His father built a bunker there to save his family. I think Cadogan used the church’s money to expand it.”
“Grew up there. Maybe he kept it for sentimental value.” Bellamy figured.
Jaha quietly chuckled through his nose, “Hmm. His father beat him almost daily in that house. He hated living there.”
“Why keep it if you’re liquidating everything else?” Clarke wondered.
“Because that bunker is there. I can feel it.”
“Yeah, maybe it’s there. Doesn’t mean we can use it. It was a century ago. And we’ve been on the ground for almost half a year – if there were survivors like in Mount weather we would’ve known by now.”
“Maybe not survivors, but the bunker is there.”
She shot up her eyebrows, rolling her eyes, and repeated herself under her breath, “doesn’t mean we can survive there.”
“She’s not wrong. And the guy sounds like a religious fanatic to me.” Bellamy spoke.
“Maybe, or maybe he was just a leader willing to do whatever it took to save his people.”
“Like you, you mean?” Michelle chuckled but she wasn’t smiling, not even a smirk. She was glaring at him, slouching back, in the shadow of Clarke’s seat, arms still crossed, gripping tighly on each other. He locked eyes with her. She wasn’t one to speak much or initiate conflicts, but she couldn’t help but speak her mind and try to get into an argument with him though she knew beforehand that he would keep his composure easily and anger her. She felt as though she was 15 or 16 again and getting back at her mom for something she said or not wanting to tell her about her dad yet again. There were only few people whom she held a grudge against, and Jaha was the only one still alive. She had forgiven her mother months ago, same with her father and Pike was dead and she couldn’t care less about him. But Jaha was still annoying her with his presence. He let out another of his chuckles and she frowned.
“You hate me. I understand.” Her frown went from one of anger to one of confusion and she squinted her eyes, wondering what made him think he could understand her one bit. But his tone of voice aggravated her. He sounded as though she was still the kid he had locked up.
“Don’t patronize me, Jaha.” She gritted her teeth, clenching her jaw. Neither Bellamy nor Clarke said anything for now, looking at them through the rearview mirror. “Your mistake is that you think you understand. But you’re right – I do hate you.”
“I am sorry.”
“Well, you’ve got a lot of things to be sorry for.” She wasn’t buying it and wouldn’t accept his apology even if it were genuine and sincere. She wouldn’t accept any apology from him because she didn’t care about him and his words were of no value to her. She didn’t like him on the Ark, and she despised him on the ground. She never respected him, and he was smart enough to know it.
“I know.” He nodded, glancing at his hands joined at his knees as he leaned forward. “I want to apologize for a lot of things.”
“Save your breath.” She looked away, losing interest in talking to him. He began with apologizing for how the city of light events turned out and she pursed her lips, staring at the car’s back door. “You forced my dad to take the chip.” He was about to say something, and she knew he would find an excuse for himself, so she continued. “It was your choice to do what you did – your choice to take the chip. I saw his hands. You tortured him to make him take the chip.
“I am sorry, Michelle.” She finally crossed his gaze again. Her eyes were shining slightly, gradually getting teary as she spoke through her gritted teeth, trying to contain herself.
“I almost killed my dad, because he was under Alie’s control and almost— almost killed Bellamy. I picked up a fucking metal bar and almost bashed my father’s head in.” Her nostrils flared and she swallowed harshly. “You saw how Octavia stabbed Pike, at the end? If my dad was dead, I would have killed you too. My mother’s gone – I couldn’t have lost him too.” Her voice got quieter as she looked away. “It's not even been 5 months since I found out he’s my father.”
“Callie didn’t want you to know.” She instantly turned her face back to him. Her facial features were no longer so tense.
“You knew?” She asked, almost whispering.
“Most of us – at the council – did. Those close to your mother. But it was her choice not to tell you that Marcus was your father. It was obvious to us.”
“I’m aware that Abby knew but— the whole council?”
“Yes.” He finally admitted and Michelle’s facial expression was now overtaken by the shock. She had no idea that over a dozen people knew that Kane was her father the whole time, and that none of them ever cared enough to tell her when all she had ever wanted, ever since she was a kid, was to know her father. It was the cause of so much tension and so many disputes with her mother when she was a teenager. It could have all been avoided if she hadn’t been lied to her whole life. She wouldn’t have been too mad if Abby had been the only one to know – she was her mother’s best friend after all – but finding out that almost every single adult around her knew. She was so stunned she didn’t even know how to react to this. She shook her head, her arms uncrossing. She asked herself a question she had already asked herself before – if Kane actually knew or not. She didn’t exactly remember what Abby said to this. Maybe he knew but didn’t want to face it, or rather couldn’t face it. Or he really didn’t. Either way, she had forgiven him anything he might have done wrong, and they worked on their relationship and as she thought about this, she realized that their relationship got so good and close-knitted because he was alive, allowing them to talk things through.
And she also came to the realization that she had lied to herself – she hadn’t fully forgiven her mother and she was one of the dead people she still held somewhat of a grudge against, and she hated herself because it would always be this way because her mother was dead and they could never discuss all this face to face, and it was eating at her. She hated herself for not being able to just let it go and forgive her mother, because she loved her so much. She hadn’t realized that as she got lost in her thoughts, the rover had gotten silent. Her lips quivered and she squinted her eyes as tears flooded them. He spoke again and she glared at him through her tears and told him to shut up, eventually raising her voice at him and storming out of the moving car. She heard Bellamy swear and call out to her as she hopped off through the backdoor, almost losing her balance as she landed on the ground and she walked away with a brisk step, wiping the tears that had rolled down her cheeks and trying to keep the rest of them from falling. She could hear that the car had stopped behind her and though she walked quickly, Bellamy reached her even quicker, jogging towards her. He had called her names quite a few times, but she hadn’t responded. It wasn’t that she deliberately wanted to ignore him, but she just couldn’t respond.
“I can walk back.” She insisted. He grabbed her arms and drew her into a tight hug as she broke into tears. She tried to apologize for wasting their time with this, but he dismissed it and she cried, resting her cheek against his shoulder, wrapping her arms around him, her hands gripping onto his jacket like claws. What she had just found out had made her feel like everyone around her had been taking her for a fool for her entire life and she felt disabused. He rubbed her back to comfort her and gently cradled her head, bringing strands of hair behind her ear. In this moment there was only one other thing that she wanted most. Her voice was shaking, broken with sobs, “I want to see my dad.”
“I know.” He felt for her, but unfortunately, he couldn’t really say anything else, because he couldn’t assure her that she would seem him soon. All he could do was support her as he did in this moment. They returned to the rover a minute later. Clarke was standing outside the vehicle, by the passenger’s door and she came up to them, giving a compassionate look to her childhood best friend.
“Ignore Jaha, okay? Take my seat. I’ll go in the back.” She walked around the car while Michelle took her place in the passenger seat, arms crossed as she slumped in the seat, bringing her legs to her chest and letting her knee lean against the door. Bellamy got in as Jaha quietly apologized again and he told him off.
“Shut up, Jaha. You’ve talked enough.” Michelle didn’t even look at him from the corner of her eyes. She stared straight ahead of her through the windshield and Bellamy started the car again. They drove through the thick forest until night fell, a few hours later. Jaha turned on a flashlight and if not for the spotlights at the front of the car, it would be totally pitch-black outside. They could barely see anything anyway. He stopped the rover, and they got out, sweeping the area with their flashligths.
“Cadogan learned how to survive from his father.” Jaha said. “They hunted in these woods.” He held up the tablet, lining up the pitcute of the house and trees with the background. “This is it.”
“Well, if anyone’s entitled to a lucky break, we are.” Bellamy declared.
“You hear that?” They all looked at him, not hearing anything and it was exactly what he wanted them to hear. There were no insects. Except he had no idea what it actually meant and he immidietaly saw the way the three of them looked at each other with worry. “What?”
“Luna said the fish were dying.” Clarke told him.
“What are the things that eat the fish and bugs gonna eat now?” Bellamy wondered.
“What happened to us deserving a lucky break?” They kept on walking. “So, what are we looking for?”
“The bunker would have been at the lowest point.”
“Anything structural. Be careful.” They gave Bellamy a nod and began searching the area. Michelle was following Clarke, and she glanced over her shoulder, stopping in her tracks for a second when she saw Jaha talking to Bellamy. She wondered what he might be telling him now but then Clarke’s voice got her attention and made her turn her head back to her, stepping over the fern’s leaves as she walked over to her. She had found something. Jaha and Bellamy joined them quickly. The latter advised them to stay behind him as they climbed down the stairs. Plants had grown over the entrance, and he cleared the way as he went down. The inside was insalubrious, roots growing all over the walls and spider webs absolutely everywhere – webs so big they were hanging from one wall to another like curtains. Bellamy broke them apart with his hand. At the back, they found a skeleton sat against the wall with thick spider webs covering him. Bellamy kneeled in front of it to take a closer look and grabbed something from its hand. What looked like a sort of large coin with the second dawn symbol and motto written around it.
“From the ashes, we will rise.” He stood up, glancing at the skeleton with a sigh. “Not this guy.”
Jaha turned the coin around and Roman numerals were written on the back. “The 11th seal. Their faith was based on 12 seals. Followers could level up by unlocking them one at a time. Only those who reached level 12 could achieve salvation.
“Huh. Maybe that’s why they didn’t let him in.” Clarke figured as she looked around, seeing a lichen covered bunker door behind them. Jaha was quite happy to see the bunker did exist. “What if they’re still in there?”
Bellamy knocked loudly on the door. “Hey! Is anyone there?”
“It’s still sealed.” Jaha concluded after looking along the door. But there were no locks or handles. There was no way they could unseal the door. The former chancellor than told them why it was – the door was designed to be opened from the inside.
“Or from the outside, by somebody with a rover.” They pulled a cable from the car all the way to the door and Bellamy started the vehicle. The cable tightened and he kept going. They all watched carefully to see if something happened. They heard metal creak, and something came flying out, hitting a tree and falling to the ground, barely avoiding the car. They had no idea if it worked or if something went wrong so they went down there again to see it for themselves. The bunker’s door was in fact open but Michelle was pretty pessimistic. She thought that, now that they forced the door open, it wouldn’t be livable anyway. And that was if the inside wasn’t as insalubrious as the first room. The room was plunged in the dark, and silence. Bellamy lit up a flare and held it high in front of him, the red incandescent light allowing them to see. The bunker was like an immense cave, spreading out before them. Hundreds of bodies were lying there. It wasn’t sealed. They all died from the bombs’ radiation, thinking they would survive.
“This won’t save anyone.” Bellamy concluded gravely. The trio glanced at each other. Michelle wasn’t so surprised, but it was still a great disappointment. They followed Jaha all the way there and again, he had been wrong and on top of that, she found out she had been lied to even more than she already knew. It had gotten her wondering if anyone ever took her seriously before.

When they returned to Arkadia, it was the middle of the night, but people were still up and going, working around the camp. They went to a room to talk privately after this failure of an outing and Bellamy and Michelle fell asleep on the couch, his arms wrapped around her as she lied on side, her face resting on his chest, blotti entre les coussins et le corps de Bellamy. They had gone to sleep, leaving Clarke to think about and work on the list of the 100 people that would have the right to be inside Alpha station when the radiation came. Michelle lifted her head when she felt Bellamy wake up and move. They looked at each other tenderly and sat up, noticing Clarke crying at the desk. She crossed their gazes as they stood up and approached and looked back to the sheet of paper in front of her.
“If we’re on the list, you’re on that list.”
“Bellamy, I can’t.” She cried.
“Write it down.” He insisted, speaking for the both of them. “Write it down, or I will.” He took the matter into his own hands when she shook her head, unable to bring herself to write her own name as the last of the list. He grabbed the pen and wrote it in her stead.  Michelle walked past him, putting a comforting hand on Clarke’s shoulder. She put her hand on top of it.
“So what now?” She asked with a shrug.
“Now we put it away, and hope we never have to use it.”
“You still have hope?”
“We still breathing?” The corner of his lips rose in a faint smirk. His hand joined the two girls’ and Clarke rested her cheeks against them, taking a deep, shaky breath. Michelle then told her to get some sleep, she gave them a nod, and the two left, headed towards their room. It ended up being a quite emotional and tough day for all of them. When she would be reunited with her father, Michelle would ask if whether he really had no idea, she was his child, or if he did, and chose not to say anything, and how he actually felt about her the whole time because she knew how she felt about him – she didn’t like him and she let him know anytime she could. It was immature of her, but she was a child, and she knew her father wouldn’t hold it against her, ever. She really wanted to have this talk with him again. There were still things he had to tell her.

Tell me about your aftg ocs!!
THANK YOU‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
okay okay okay so theres like a dozen of them but ill tell you abt my baby mercer (i may or may not be writing a fic for him)
Mercer Kyrie Reyes | #13, offensive dealer, 20, 5’7”, leo
mercer joins the foxes his sophomore year of college (he transfers) after wymack shows up at the bar he works at and basically forces his hand. this follows the events of tsc, so he & neil are the only sophomores on the team. he has a pretty mild relationship with most of the foxes since he’s not really around them that much off court. moving from bum-fuck nowhere connecticut to south carolina is a bit of a mess.
he majors in drawing (idk)
how he plays on court is usually dependent on how his day has gone. if he’s had a bad say, he won’t be of any use on court
he has a little sister, marcella, who he loves and would do anything to protect. he’s her current legal guardian.
he’s the second oldest, his older brother is 5 years older than him and has gone no-contact with the rest of his family, only really checking in every few months to make sure his siblings are alive. he has one younger brother who’s two years younger than him, and then theres marcella who’s four years younger
he has a sweet tooth that rivals andrews, it’s actually ridiculous bc this man always has candy on him no matter what
HATES spiders & flies (they freak him out)
slushy fiend
he’s vv picky eater & will only eat spicy foods
will drink lemonade no matter the season
he can COOK god hes so-
he enjoys sketching random shit he sees. if his sketchbook isnt on he’ll take a picture of whatever it is that caught his interest- but that’s almost never the case so whenever the foxes see him outside of practice he’s usually drawing
he also writes poetry! nothing serious, but he’ll write what he feels in the moment.
his relationship with wymack & abby is a little shifty. he’s got a lot of trust issues (obv) & parental issues, but abby lets his sister stay with her and keeps her fed, and wymack lets him use the foxes credit card (i forgot what its called) to buy things for her when needed, so it’s as bad as it would be if he were there alone
hes a smartass, of course, and usually gets sent off court for talking shit. he has a habit of taunting other teams. kevin usually falls victim to it during practice. he’s also very flirtatious, with just about everyone, though its usually superficial, he just likes seeing people get worked up
his nails are always chipped with black paint
he’s got his signature leather jacket that he wears no matter the season. it’s got a bunch of different pins and patches sewn into it
he drinks enough energy drinks to have a heart attack, and his hands tend to shake a LOT bc of it
he has chronic migraines! they happen at least once a day (if hes lucky)
very bad insomnia, my mans usually gets like 3 hours of sleep a day if he’s lucky. he tends to nap a LOT
he has tattoos! he wants to open up a tattoo/piercing shop, and he usually practices on himself! for marcella’s 16th birthday he gave her a small sun and moon tattoo on each of her inner forearms

Masterlist
Raven's voice was faint, repeating the same exact thing over and over again on the bottom level of the dropship. She begged for the Ark to hear her, pleading for their help. All we had gotten so far was static.
Octavia winced, grabbing my attention. "Can you please not space out while you're stitching my forehead? I'd really like to avoid a scar."
I smiled slightly. "Trust me, a scar is the least of your worries these days."
She frowned, her eyes shifting to the floor. "Do you think Finn will be alright?"
"I hope so." I responded, tying off the stitch and cutting the end with the small scissors that came in the pack. "Clarke will figure it out. She always does."
"You know her better than I do."
I noticed Octavia shift in place as I reached over to grab some gauze. Placing it over the wound on her head, I used the little bit of tape Clarke had offered up to stick it on. "You're good to go."
Octavia sighed, running her fingers along the bandage. "Thank you."
"No sleeping for another few hours, alright? Just in case." I said, as thunder grumbled outside.
"I don't think anyone is sleeping anytime soon."
"Probably not." I sighed.
"Athena!" Clarke's voice boomed through the dropship.
Octavia stiffened. "You should go, I'll be alright."
"Athena!"
I stood from my spot on the floor, grabbing the suture kit before looking down at Octavia. "If you need me at all, call for me, alright? If you feel dizzy or anything-"
"I'll call for you, I promise."
I gave her one last smile before opening the hatch and climbing down to the bottom floor. Clarke quickly spotted me across the room, waving me over with her free hand.
"How's Finn doing?" I asked, placing the suture kit at Finn's feet.
Clarke averted her eyes. "He's still alive, for now."
I noticed Raven's eyes shift towards us, before focusing back in on the radio. "Calling Ark Station. Please come in. The hundred are alive."
Suddenly, the radio crackled, a voice coming through. "This is a restricted station. Who is this? Please identify yourself."
Everyone fell silent, staring at Raven. Her face was pale, her eyes wider than usual. Finally, she responded. "This is Raven Reyes. I'm from Mecha Station. I'm transmitting from the ground. The hundred are alive. Please, you need to get Doctor Abby Griffin, now."
"Hang on, Raven. We're trying to boost your signal."
I blinked. "You did it? That's really the Ark?"
Raven turned her head, smiling, though her eyes were still laced with tears. "It's really the Ark."
"Raven? Are you there?" I recognized Abby's voice instantly.
Clarke's eyes darted back the radio, a frown forming across her face. After a few moments she took a deep breath, heading over and taking the radio from Raven.
"Mom? Mom, it's me."
"Clarke?"
Clarke smiled for just a moment, though it quickly faded. "Mom, I need your help. One of our people was stabbed by a Grounder."
A new voice emerged. "Clarke, this is the Chancellor. Are you saying there are survivors on the ground?"
"Yes, the Earth is survivable. We're not alone." Clarke said. "Mom, he's dying. The knife is still in his chest."
"Okay, just give us two minutes."
"Clarke," Jaha's voice emerged again. "Is my son with you?"
Clarke looked at me, her eyes swelling with tears. I gave her a reassuring look and she turned her attention back to the radio. "I'm so sorry. W-Wells is dead."
Everything fell silent once more, only the static of the radio coming through. Finally, Abby's voice came through once again. "Okay, Clarke... I'm going to talk you through this step-by-step. Just find-"
The radio cut out for a moment, coming back through in mumbles.
"Raven, what's going on?" I asked.
She shook her head. "It's not the radio, it's the storm."
"Clarke, we need to hurry." Abby's voice was clear again.
"Clarke!" I turned around, noticing Octavia rushing into the dropship. I hadn't even noticed her climb down after me. "Here, this should help."
Clarke headed over, grabbing one of the canisters from Octavia. She screwed open the lid, breathing it in. "Monty's moonshine?"
"Pretty sure no germ could survive this."
The dropship began to shake, lightning striking off in the distance.
"The storm is getting worse. Monroe, close the doors." Clarke commanded.
"We still have people out there."
Octavia nodded. "Monty and Jasper still aren't back. Neither is Bellamy."
"It's okay, they'll find somewhere to hide out."
Before Octavia could argue, Clarke turned back to me. "The suture kit?"
I nodded my head towards Finn's feet. "Right there."
Clarke grabbed the kit, pulling out the needle. She then poured the moonshine over it, rotating it to cover every inch of the needle.
"Tell me you can do this." Raven spoke, moving closer to Clarke.
Clarke looked up at me. "We can do this."
"We?" I asked.
She nodded. "I need your help. Our mothers work together, you and I used to spend hours together in medical reading those journals."
"Clarke, I've had zero training. Sewing Octavia's head was hard enough."
"My mother will give us instructions. I just need your extra set of hands, alright?" I averted my eyes, hoping she'd give up. "Athena, please. I need you."
I looked back up, noticing her pleading eyes. "Alright."
"Hey, they're back!" Monroe called out.
Octavia turned to the door, rushing over. "Bellamy!"
Bellamy entered the dropship first, Monty and Jasper lagging behind, carrying the Grounder from the cave. They dropped his unconscious body to the floor, him handing at Octavia's feet.
She looked up at her brother, her face red. "What the hell are you doing?"
"It's time to get some answers."
"You mean revenge?"
"I mean intel," Bellamy responded, turning back to the boys. "Get him upstairs."
I marched over to Bellamy, a frown across my face. "Bellamy, you know she's right."
"Clarke, we're ready." Abby's voice came through again. "Can you hear me?"
"Athena, I need you."
Bellamy's eyes landed on the radio, his face going pale. I placed my hand on his shoulder, my eyes fixed on his. "Bellamy, this is not who we are."
I watched as his eyes shifted back to the radio, before landing on me once more. "It is now." He said, pulling himself away from me and headed up the ladder after Monty and Jasper.
Shaking my head, I turned to Octavia. "Please, just sit down somewhere, alright? I can't worry about Finn, the Grounder and you all at the same time." Octavia nodded, heading up to the second level of the dropship.
I walked over to Clarke, standing next to her. "The blade is at a sharp, upward angle. Between the sixth and seventh rib."
"How deep?" Abby asked.
"I can't tell."
"That's alright, just don't remove the knife yet."
Clarke grabbed the canister of moonshine, pouring some into her right hand. She then handed it to me, rubbing her hands together. I did the same, and then Raven.
Abby's voice came through again, though we were distracted by the fighting of two delinquents behind us.
"Damn it!" Clarke yelled. "Raven, clear the room."
Raven nodded. "Everyone upstairs. Now! Let's go!"
Clarke placed her hand on Finn's body. "He feels warm."
Raven spun around, rushing back to his side.
"That's alright, fever sometimes accompanies a trauma." Abby responded. "Clarke, I need you to tell me if there's any fluid leaking from the wound."
Clarke examined the wound. "No."
"That's good! That's really good. You got lucky."
Raven crouched down, her face close to Finn's. "Do you hear that? You're lucky." She smiled.
"Okay, Clarke... You need to have a firm grip on the knife." Abby started. "You're gonna need to angle it upward to the left, very slightly to the left, as it exits the ribcage."
"How very slightly?" Clarke asked, her voice now shaking.
"Three millimeters. Any more would be bad, any less too."
"Okay, three milimeters. Got it."
"You can do this, Clarke." Abby encouraged her. "You've assisted me on trickier procedures than this. Once that knife is out, the hard part is over."
Clarke nodded, taking a deep breath. "Extracting now."
Placing her hands around the knife, Clarke began to pull slowly.
"Clarke, he's waking up!"
My eyes landed on Finn's face, his body beginning to move.
"Finn, I'm going to get the knife out of you, okay?" Clarke spoke before looking between Raven and I. "I need you two to hold him still."
While Raven and I held Finn down, Finn strained, trying to keep his body from moving. As Clarke neared the end of the knife, the dropship began to shake again, throwing us all across the room. I watched as the knife tore out of Finn, him falling to the floor in the other direction.
"Clarke! Clarke, what's going on?"
I lifted my head, noticing Clarke standing with the knife in her hand, her eyes fixated on Finn. He was awake, staring right back at her.
"She did it," Raven mumbled, looking between the two. "She did it."
...
The three of us had managed to get Finn back on the cot and Clarke was now finishing up her stitches. "Okay, I'm done."
"Good," Abby responded. "Do you have anything to cover the wound?"
"We still have one bandage left," I spoke up, handing it to Clarke.
"Athena?"
My eyes darted to the radio, my shaky legs rushing over. "Mom? Is that you?"
"Oh, thank God." My mother cried. "When your wristband went black I-"
"I'm okay, I promise." I smiled through teary eyes. "I miss you."
"I miss you too, sweetheart."
"Guys," Raven spoke, grabbing my attention. "Should he be this pale?"
"He's lost a lot of blood, Raven." Abby spoke. "If he's anywhere near as tough as you though, I'm sure he'll be fine."
Clarke placed her hand on his forehead. "Mom, she's right. He's feverish and his breathing is uneven."
"You need to give him some time to recover. Let me know if he gets any worse, but I think he might just be out of the woods."
"There's nothing but woods down here." Clarke rolled her eyes. "I need a break."
"Clarke, wait!" Abby pleaded. "Raven, Athena... Can you please give us a few minutes?"
"Of course-"
"No, no. Raven, stay with Finn." Clarke responded, rubbing her temples. "Athena, come with me."
I followed Clarke up the dropship ladder, reaching the top level. Bellamy stared at the Grounder, who was tied up using seat belts we'd salvaged. Clarke pulled herself through the opening, a boy I didn't recognize stepping in front of her.
"Get hell hell out of my way."
Bellamy sighed. "It's alright. Let them through."
The boy stepped aside, allowing us to pass. I stood next to Bellamy, Clarke approaching the Grounder, who left out a hardy groan.
"Well," Clarke turned back to look at Bellamy. "If he didn't hate us before, he sure as hell does now."
"Who cares?" Bellamy asked. "How is Finn?"
"Alive," Clarke responded, glaring. "His people will care. How long until they find out where we're keeping him? What happens when they do? I mean, when they come looking for him."
"Relax, Princess. No one saw us take him. Thanks to the storm, you couldn't see a soul out there." He reached out, Miller handing him a journal. "In case you missed it, his people are already killing us. How many more of our people need to die before you realize we're fighting a war?"
"We're not soldiers, Bellamy." I spoke up. "There's no way we can win."
"You're right. If we don't fight."
Clarke went to speak, being cut off by Raven's cries. "Clarke! He's seizing!"
"I'm on my way!" Clarke called out, rushing back down the ladder.
I ran down after her, rushing to Finn's side.
"Get my mom on the radio." Clarke said.
"The radio is dead. Interference from the storm." Raven responded, staring at Clarke. "Please don't let him die."
...
Finn soon stopped seizing, his body settling in Raven's arms.
"It's stopped." Clarke spoke. "Quick, help me get him on his side."
I moved into position, noticing Raven remained holding Finn, staring off into the distance. "Raven? Raven, please."
"There's fluid in his lungs, he could choke." Clarke added. Raven snapped back into focus, nodding as she stepped away. Clarke and I then rolled him over, fluids spilling out of his mouth. "He's burning up!"
"Fluid in his lungs? Does that mean the knife-
"No, this isn't blood. It's something else." I responded, looking at Clarke.
Clarke stared at Finn. "I-I did everything she told me to."
"Wait, we've seen this before." I said. "Shortness of breath, fever, seizing."
"Poison." Clarke spoke, her eyes lighting up.
Raven shook her head. "You sterilized everything, I watched you do it."
"Not everything."
Clarke reached over, grabbing the knife. "Raven, stay here."
I followed Clarke back up the ladder. "They locked the damn door!" Clarke hissed, banging on the hatch. "Open the door, now! Bellamy!"
Finally, Miller opened the hatch, allowing Clarke to pull herself through. I followed close behind, watching as she marched over to the Grounder.
"What's on this?" She waved the knife in the air. "Answer me!"
Bellamy looked at me. "What is she talking about?"
"He poisoned the blade!" Clarke snapped her head back. "All this time he knew Finn was going to die no matter what we did."
"What is it?" I asked, moving closer. "Is there an antidote?"
"Athena, he doesn't understand you." Octavia spoke, poking her head through the hatch.
"The vials." Bellamy mumbled, turning around and picking up a small pack. "It's gotta be here." He laid them all out on the floor in front of the Grounder.
"You'd have to be stupid to have a poison around for this long without an antidote." Clarke mumbled, getting on her knees. "Which one is it?"
The Grounder just stared at Clarke, his face never changing.
"Answer the question!" Bellamy yelled.
Octavia pushed her way through the small crowd. "Please, just tell us."
"Which one?" Clarke asked again. "Our friend is dying down there, and you can stop it!"
My eyes shot to Bellamy, silently pleading for him to do something. He rubbed the back of his neck, moving closer to the Grounder. "I'll get him to talk."
He lifted his fist, Octavia jumping in front of him. "Bellamy, no!"
"He wants Finn to die! Why can't you see that?" His eyes drifted to Clarke. "Do you want Finn to live or not?"
"Athena, please!" Octavia begged. "You said it yourself, this is not who we are. He was protecting me, he saved my life!"
Bellamy shook his head. "We're talking about Finn's life!"
"Do it."
I looked at Clarke, shame written all over her face.
"Clarke, please..." Octavia begged before turning back to the Grounder. "Please, just tell us which one it is."
Bellamy picked up a knife, using it to rip open the Grounder's shirt. "Tell us which one it is, or you'll wish you had."
"Bellamy," Octavia pleaded. "Please don't do this."
Bellamy grabbed a seat belt, taking a deep breath before swinging it. As it hit the Grounder's skin, he let out a small yelp, causing me to turn away.
"Please!" Clarke begged, still on her knees. "Which one is it?"
"Just tell them." Octavia begged again.
Bellamy placed his hand on Clarke's shoulder, a tear falling from her eye as she eventually stood up. As Clarke moved away, Bellamy hit the Grounder with the seatbelt once again.
Each time he'd hit the Grounder, we would plead for answers. Finally, Octavia had had enough.
"Stop it! He's not going to tell us anything." She yelled.
"Clarke!" Raven yelled. "He's getting worse!"
"We're running out of time," I spoke, kneeling in front of the vials. "If you tell us, they'll stop. Please. We just want to save our friend."
The Grounder simply stared back at me, and I knew reasoning was never going to work. Bellamy sighed, kneeling down next to me.
"Hey, you don't have to be here for this, alright?" He whispered.
I shook my head, looking him in the eyes. "I'm not leaving until we get that antidote."
Bellamy stared back for a moment before finally nodding. "Alright." He stood up. "Maybe this will work."
I watched as he retrieved a metal pick from the makeshift table. He adjusted it in his hand, looking back at Clarke who nodded. Bellamy took a deep breath, driving the pick into the Grounder's right hand, causing him to groan once more.
"What's taking so long?" Raven asked, poking her head through the hatch. "He stopped breathing."
"What?" Clarke asked, getting ready to run downstairs.
Raven grabbed her hand. "He started again, but next time he might not."
"He won't tell us anything." I said, standing up. "We've tried."
"Wanna bet?" Raven asked, marching over the cables next to Grounder.
Bellamy eyed her. "What are you doing?"
Raven ripped the cables out of the wall, touching them to each other, causing sparks to shoot off of them. "Showing him something new."
The Grounder began to panic, attempting to move himself away as much as he could while tied up. Raven took the cables, placing the ends of them against the Grounder's chest as he screamed out in pain.
"Which one is it?" She yelled, shocking him again. "He's all I have!"
"Stop it!" Octavia yelled.
Raven turned back to look at her. "He's letting Finn die!"
Octavia looked to Clarke's hand, grabbing the knife from her. Without hesitating, she placed the knife against her wrist, pulling it back along her arm.
"Octavia!" Bellamy called out.
I watched as the Grounder's unwavering calmness turned to panic, him attempting to lunge forward. Octavia stared at him, her eyes filled with tears. "He won't let me die."
Bellamy attempted to grab Octavia, her shoving him off before falling to her knees.
"Which one is it?" She asked, using the knife to point at each one. The Grounder nodded his head towards the last one. "This one?" She asked, earning a final nod.
Clarke reached down, grabbing the antidote. "Thank you." she said before running back downstairs, Raven and I following close behind.
...
After giving Finn the antidote, I went back upstairs to check on the Grounder, a bucket of water in my hand. I placed my hand on his, grabbing the handle of the pick. I looked back up at him, his head turned away from me.
"I'm so sorry." I mumbled, yanking the pick from his hand.
He hardly made a sound, nothing probably compared to Raven shocking him. I tossed the pick on the floor, grabbing the wet rag from the bucket and attempting to clean his hand, him shutting his fist.
"I need to clean your hand, please." I begged, trying to pry it open.
Footsteps came from behind me, Octavia appearing in my peripheral. "Here, let me try."
I nodded, handing her the cloth and watching as he opened his hand again. Taking a deep breath, I spoke again. "I'm so sorry, Octavia. We had to save Finn."
Octavia turned her head, looking me in the eyes. "For the record, I saved Finn. Nobody else."
I nodded, stepping back slightly. "You're right. We should've listened to you."
"Nobody ever does."
Not knowing what else I could say to possibly make things any better, I grabbed the pick from the floor, heading back down the ladder and out of the dropship. Looking around, I noticed everyone setting up camp again, repairing any damage from the storm. It was as if Finn almost dying and the Grounder never happened.
"We'll get it cleaned up." Bellamy spoke, standing next to me.
I scoffed, walking past him. "I wish this was the only mess we had to deal with."
"Athena," Bellamy spoke, grabbing my hand with the pick in it. I spun back around, our eyes meeting. "Who we are and who we need to be to survive are very different things."
We remained staring at each other for a few more moments. I noticed Clarke approaching, slowly, her eyes falling to our still touching hands. I pulled mine away, clearing my throat.
"What are we going to do about him?" Clarke asked, nodding to the dropship. "We can't keep him locked up in there forever."
"If we let him go, he'll come back. Not alone next time." Bellamy sighed. "Not easy being in charge, is it?"
Clarke sighed, looking away.
Bellamy gave me one last look before heading off to help the others. I placed my free hand on Clarke's shoulder. "Hey, everything is going to be alright. Our people will be here soon."
"Not soon enough."

Abbadon is a macabre little reincarnation of Eschier, a god of death, earth, and bone. He's been dragged into immortality against her will, and so passes the time taking an interest in the wars forged by her counterpart, Julian Goodnight, for their destructive and blood soaked wake.
Reggie Rodriguez Reyes was born to generational wealth but spent his childhood being groomed by a bitter, cold woman he disowned; changing his name to reflect his favorite uncle and living out of an RV instead. He burns out early in life but claws his way out of alcoholism to set a necessary example for his little cousin, Hunter. His sexuality is an entirely open door, and he's an absolute goofball despite himself.

First Lines
Rules: post the first sentence of your last ten fics. If you haven't written ten fics, share as many first-sentences as you have.
I was tagged by @dandenbo and @mtreebeardiles (yes, I have waaaaay more than 10! lol) - thank you, my friend! As for tagging, I'm going to leave it open to anyone who wants to share because you tagged my usual suspects! LOL *high fives*
All right, let's see what we have..
If London Falls (M, Mass Effect, Abby Williams/Major Coats (aka: Abboats) - set in London during the early days of the Reaper War)
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…
2. Brain Freeze (G, Mass Effect, mClone Shep/Kaidan Alenko - a oneshot for Kaidan and Aubrey in which Aubrey discovers freezy pops)
The heat was a problem.
3. Tales From The Inquisition (T, Dragon Age Inquisition, William Trevelyan & Cullen Rutherford - small moments in the friendship of the Inquisitor and the Commander)
There weren’t many things William could say he enjoyed while growing up more than looking through stacks of books.
4. Under Covers (T, Mass Effect, Gianna Parasini/Kaidan Alenko - little moments from a pairing for whom I have a story but have yet to get it written)
“You know, when they said we would be going under cover together, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind.”
5. Bait & Switch (T, Mass Effect/Mass Effect Andromeda, AU/crossover, Kaidan Alenko/Reyes Vidal - The Alliance comes asking for Reyes Vidal's help. Part of The Golden Boy & The Shady Bastard series)(my SpecRecs 2022 piece written for @mallaidhsomo)
Of all the places in the galaxy to end up in a back-room meeting with an Alliance representative, the lower level of Afterlife on Omega wasn’t his first choice.
6. Run Away With Me (M, Mass Effect, male Shepard & female OC - background story of how Earthborn Michael Shepard and his best friend leave the Reds and join the Alliance - part of the Biotic Pinball Wizard series)
Dimly lit, overly shadowed halls, even those that are supposed to offer safety, hold risks for those who enter unprepared.
7. Gaia's Chosen (M, Mass Effect/Werewolf: The Apocalypse crossover, set in Mass Effect world, Caleb Shepard/Kaidan Alenko - this story is set at the beginning of ME2)
The first rule of law for any soldier is that life becomes a constant assessment of risk from the moment they don the uniform.
8. May The Road Rise To Meet You (M, Mass Effect, Caleb Shepard - this is Caleb's story of Akuze)
Shannon’s grey skies weep readily across the city, a steady, calming rhythm during otherwise precarious times.
9. Nerf Gun Wars (T, Mass Effect, male Shepard - this is what happens late at night when my brain goes off the wall. Mass Effect + Nerf Guns + Assassination Game from back in the '80s when I was in high school)
It’s all fun and games … until the helmsman ends up in the medbay with a fractured toe.
10. As Cold As Ice (T, Mass Effect, Kaidan Alenko/Major Coats (aka: Alenkoats) - Kaidan and Coats face off with a Thresher Maw on Xawin)
Freefalling through planetary atmosphere inside a military vehicle, even one as good as the M35 Mako, is something Kaidan Alenko will never get used to.

Part 2
word count - 3,446
Tumblr media
The five of you stood at the side of the cliff, your hearts pounding with anticipation as Finn gripped the rope tightly in his hand, ready to swing across the gap. Finn prepared to make his leap, Jasper piped up, his voice filled with determination. "Wait, guys. Let me do it. I've got this."
There was a moment of stunned silence as his words sunk in. Clarke glanced at him, concern etched across her features. "Jasper, are you sure? It's a long way across." But Jasper was already stepping forward, a defiant gleam in his eyes. "Clarke. Trust me, I can do this."
The rest of you exchanged uncertain glances, but Finn nodded in agreement. "Let him try. We don't have much time."
With a collective cheer, you urged Jasper on as he gripped the rope and launched himself into the air. For a moment, he sailed across the gap with grace, his movements fluid and confident. As Jasper neared the other side, a spear soared through the air straight into his chest, sending him careening off course.
With a sickening thud, he collided with the rock behind him, the impact knocking the wind out of him.
"Jasper!" Clarke cried out in horror, rushing forward to help him. The rest of you watched in shock, the reality of the situation sinking in. You were not alone in these woods.
Finn took charge, his voice urgent as he scanned the surrounding area. "We need to move. Now. Whatever hit Jasper could still be out there."
You stood in stunned silence by yourself, gears turning in your head at the lack of choices you seemed to have in this moment. Clarkes voice waking you back up from your daze. You crouch down out of sight of whatever was out there.
The woods seemed darker and more foreboding now, every rustle of leaves and snap of twigs sending shivers down your spine. You looked back at Jaspers figure once more pinned to the rock, catching sight of Monty out in the open.
"Well, this is just fantastic. I always wanted to be stuck in a survival situation with a bunch of amateurs." You whisper to yourself, scanning the woods around you before lunging towards Monty, dragging him by his ear back to the group.
"We are so screwed," Octavia insisted, her eyes darting from tree to tree as if searching for any sign of their missing friend.
Out of nowhere, Jasper's chilling scream pierced through the stillness of the forest, sending a shiver down your spine and causing your blood to run cold. Panic surged through you, your mind racing with fear and uncertainty.
"Clarke, Jasper. He's alive," you gasped out, your voice trembling with a mix of relief and dread.
But Clarke was already moving, her determination unwavering as she raced ahead, heedless of Finn's warning. "Clarke, wait. Wait! Wait," Finn called out desperately, but she didn't stop.
Monty's voice trembled with fear as he scanned the surrounding trees, removing himself from you side to stand at the cliffs edge once more. "No. Where is he?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, his eyes wide with horror.
"They took him," Clarke replied, her tone heavy with sorrow and rage. The realization hit you like a punch to the gut, feeling paralyzed as you crouched in the depths of the forest, knowing that Jasper was now in the hands of whatever lurked in the woods.
---
The four of you sprinted through the dense undergrowth, the branches seemed to claw at your skin, leaving scratches in their wake. You reached out, grabbing Octavia's arm with clammy hands, pulling her along with you as you dodged and weaved through the obstacles in your path.
Glancing over your shoulder, you noticed Monty and Clarke lagging behind, their breath coming in ragged gasps. "Come on, guys! We're almost there!" you shouted back, urging them to pick up the pace. The forest around you seemed to darken, the sunlight filtering through the canopy overhead seems to diminish with each passing step.
light struggled to penetrate the thick trees behind you, casting long shadows that stretch across the forest floor like fingers reaching out to pull you deeper into the gloom with every step you took towards the safety of the camp.
The distant flicker of the campfire beckoned through the thick brush, you could almost feel the warmth of the flames against your skin, driving you forward despite the burning ache in your legs. Each step was a struggle, your muscles screaming in protest from the relentless exertion of running from Mount Weather.
You pushed Octavia forward through the trees, finally reaching the group, you were met with a scene that sent a chill down your spine. Murphy and Wells were engaged in a vicious knife fight, their faces contorted with anger and desperation.
Clarke stepped in front of you, her voice sharp with urgency. "Wells! Let him go!" she yelled, pushing herself through the crowd to intervene.
“Alright enough you two!” Bellamy growled as he pushed Murphy away from Wells. Meeting Clarkes angry glare before Octavia caught his attention.
He moved with determined strides, parting the sea of bodies like a ship cutting through choppy waters., his expression darkening with concern and anger. "Octavia, are you all right?" he demanded, his piercing gaze locked onto you, unwavering and intense. "You let her get hurt out there? Where's the food you were so spent on getting?”
You bristled at his accusatory tone, your sarcasm dripping like venom. "Oh, sorry, Bellamy, I was too busy dodging spears and saving Octavia to remember to pack you a picnic basket," you shot back, your frustration boiling over. "But you seem to have everything under control, as usual."
Bellamy's jaw clenched, his gaze hardening even further as he took a step closer to you. "Don't play games with me, y/n," he growled, his voice low and dangerous.
Finn stumbled forward, gasping for breath. "We... we didn't make it to Mount Weather," he managed to get out between labored breaths.
Clarke stepped forward, her voice cutting through the tension like a knife. "We were attacked," she announced, her gaze sweeping over the assembled group of delinquents. "They were waiting for us, lying in ambush."Her words hung heavy in the air, a chilling reminder of the dangers that lurked in the woods beyond their camp. The group exchanged worried glances.
Clarke's gaze softened as she addressed her friends, her voice sincere. "Everything we thought we knew about the ground is wrong," she continued, her eyes meeting each of theirs in turn. "There are people here, survivors. The good news is, that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us."
"Yeah, the bad news is the Grounders will," Finn admitted, his eyes reflecting the gravity of their situation.
Wells limped towards the group, grimacing in pain as his voice broke through the tension, his concern evident as he inquired about Jasper's whereabouts. "Where's the kid with the goggles?" he asked, his gaze darting around the group anxiously.
Clarke stepped forward, her expression grim as she delivered the devastating news. "Jasper was hit. They took him," she revealed anxiously. "Where is your wristband?" she demanded, turning her attention back to Wells, her eyes searching his face for answers.
Wells hesitated for a moment before responding, his voice heavy with regret. "Ask him," he replied, gesturing towards Murphy with a solemn expression.
Clarke's frustration was obvious as she processed the information. "How many?" she hissed, her voice barely above a whisper as she awaited Murphy's response.
Murphy's reply was chilling in its simplicity. "Twenty-four and counting," he admitted, his tone sinister as he confirmed the number.
Clarke's frustration boiled over, her words laced with anger. "You idiots," she spat, her voice filled with bitter disappointment. "Life support on the Ark is failing. That's why they brought us down here," she scolded, her words a reminder of the harsh reality they faced.
"Don't listen to her. She's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good," Bellamy shouted, rallying the crowd with his impassioned words. "We can take care of ourselves. That wristband on your arm? It makes you a prisoner," he declared, his tone defiant as he challenged Clarke's authority as he faced her.
"I say you're not criminals! You're fighters, survivors! The Grounders should worry about us!" His words resonated with the crowd, drawing them back to his side as they echoed their agreement.
You shook your head in disappointment at the shortsightedness of it all, the frustration evident in your expression as you watched the crowd rally behind Bellamy's reckless rhetoric.
Monty pulled you and Clarke towards him, his faced scrunched in discomfort. "What do we do now?" he asked, his eyes darting between Clarke and Bellamy as he sought your guidance.
Clarke's response was firm and resolute, her gaze unwavering as she addressed him. "Now we go after Jasper," she declared.
---
You and Clarke worked quickly to patch up Wells, the urgency of the situation lending speed to your movements as you devised a plan to rescue Jasper. Clarke and Finn's heated exchange filled the air behind you, their voices clashing in disagreement.
Finn remained steadfast in his belief that venturing back into the woods would only lead to disaster. "I'm not going anywhere, and neither should any of you. That spear was thrown with pinpoint accuracy from 300 feet," he argued back.
Clarke's frustration bubbled to the surface as she refused to entertain the idea of leaving Jasper behind. "So what, we let Jasper die? That's not gonna happen, Spacewalker." she retorted, every word seasoned with accusation.
Finn stood his ground, his expression desperate as he countered Clarke's resolve. "It's not an adventure, Clarke, it's a suicide mission," he countered.
"Clarke, we could use Bellamy," you suggested, your voice tinged with reluctance. "He has a weapon. As annoying as he is, we need all the help we can get."
Walking over to Octavia, you handed her a bottle of water, offering her a small smile of reassurance before looking over her leg once more. Clarke approached Bellamy then, her voice commanding as she addressed him. "I hear you have a gun.” Bellamy reply came without hesitation, lifting his shirt slightly to reveal the weapon strapped to his waist.
As he did, you couldn't help but notice the defined contours of his abdomen, the muscles taut and well-defined. Caught momentarily in the act of admiring, you quickly averted your gaze, but not before Bellamy's eyes flicked up, catching you in the act.
A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he noticed your fleeting glance. "Like what you see?" he quipped, his tone teasing.
You rolled your eyes, unable to resist a sarcastic retort. "Please, Bellamy, don't flatter yourself. I was just wondering if that thing is even loaded," you shot back, your tone laced with playful sarcasm.
Clarke nodded in agreement. “That’s good. Follow me," she instructed, her words leaving no room for argument.
You fell into step beside her, Bellamy shot you both a questioning look, his brow furrowed in confusion. "And why would I do that?" he asked, his voice edged with skepticism. The two you halting in your walking.
You couldn't resist the urge to challenge him back, his self-righteous attitude grating your nerves for the second time today, "Oh, I don't know, Bellamy. Maybe because you're not as brave as you like to pretend," you retorted, your tone dripping with sarcasm.
Bellamy's expression hardened, and he stepped closer to you, mirroring your stance, his gaze intense. For a moment, you almost step back at his closeness, but you refused to back down. "Careful, sweetheart. You don't want to find out just how wrong you are," he warned.
You squared your shoulders, meeting his gaze with equal intensity. "Try me," you mocked, your voice steady despite the butterflies fluttering in your stomach. You walked away with Clarke, leaving Bellamy behind. You could almost feel the weight of his gaze boring into your back as you moved further away. A silent challenge lingering in the air.
---
Your focus, alongside Clarke's, remained on locating Jasper, the urgency tangible in every stride as the group trudged through the dense undergrowth. Bellamy's voice, sharp and cutting, sliced through the otherwise oppressive silence.
"Hey, hold up. What's the rush? You don't survive a spear through the heart." His words halted the group in their tracks, prompting a momentary pause in the relentless pursuit. Wells attempted to interject, his voice a soft plea for reason, "We have to find him, Bellamy,” but Murphy's abrupt intrusion blocked his path.
"We heard him scream when they moved him. We have to find him now." You voiced, restraining yourself from punching Bellamy in the face.
The exchange between you and Clarke, a tense back-and-forth of explanations and rebuttals, seemed destined to continue until Bellamy interrupted, his tone brusque and impatient. "As soon as you take those wristbands off, we can go."
“Over my dead body, Blake,” you huffed, finding his insistence infuriating. Bellamy was quick to put on a self-satisfied expression at your remark. Suddenly, Finn materialized out of the shadows, his unexpected presence bringing an abrupt halt to the argument.
"Clarke's right. We need to keep moving. We're not leaving anyone behind."
Clarke spared you one last glance, mouthing a simple ‘sorry’ before walking away with Finn taking the lead of the group. Once they dispersed, you found yourself beside Wells, Bellamy, and Murphy not far behind. Seeking solace in conversation, you struck up a dialogue with him, hoping to find some semblance of normalcy. Every step felt heavy, the worry for Jasper gnawing at your insides.
The sound of a low groan reverberated through the trees, causing both you and Clarke to snap into action. Without a second thought, you both bolted towards the source of the noise. pushing through tangled foliage and dodging gnarled roots. You finally stumbled upon Jasper, his figure slumped against a rock.
Your heart twisted at the sight of him, “Jasper!” you screamed, looking over his battered and bloodied form. Jasper's wounds were covered, a makeshift bandage hastily applied by unknown hands. Jasper groaned aloud once more, relief flooded through you at the realization that he was alive.
Before you could reach him, the ground beneath your feet gave way, the earth crumbling beneath you in a sudden collapse. Clarke's scream pierced the air as she watched you disappear into the darkness below.
She stumbled backward, her eyes wide with fear, before collapsing to the ground herself. The rest of the group rushed to her side, their shouts of concern blending with the chaos of the moment.
In the midst of the commotion, Bellamy's strong grip closed around your arm, your heart leaped into your throat, you locked eyes with Bellamy just as you were about to plummet into the unknown depths below.
For a fleeting moment, there was something indecipherable in his expression, a hint of uncertainty perhaps, but it vanished as quickly as it had appeared.
Before you could dwell on it further, you realized his attention was drawn to the wristband on your arm, and Bellamy's gaze flickered down to it for just a moment. Anger flared within you at the implication, and you snapped, "Let go, Bellamy!"
He hesitated, his grip on your arm tightening as if contemplating his next move. Panic overwhelmed you as you teetered on the edge of the pit, "I know you want to let go, Bellamy. Just do it already!" you snapped.
Bellamy's expression remained inscrutable, his gaze flickering briefly to your wristband before meeting yours again. Then, as if coming to a decision, he released you, allowing you to slip further into the spiked pit below.
Just as you were about to plummet into the abyss, Murphy's strong hand closed around your arm. The rest of the group rushed to your aid, their shouts of concern mingling with the chaos of the moment as they worked together to pull you back to safety.
With a collective effort, they hoisted you up from the brink, your heart pounding in your chest as you collapsed onto solid ground once more. Relief washed over you in a dizzying wave, but as you shot a glare at Bellamy, his gaze still lingering on you with an intensity you couldn't quite decipher.
---
Murphy and Finn rushed forward to help Jasper, you stayed back, still trying to steady your breathing after the near fall. The others scrambled to their feet, scanning the forest for any signs of danger. your eyes landed on Bellamy's gun lying on the ground nearby.
Before you could think twice, a low growl echoed through the trees, sending shivers down your spine. Your gaze shot back to the source of the sound just in time to see a sleek panther emerge from the brush, its predatory eyes fixed on Bellamy.
“Bellamy!” Clarke shouted. “Get the gun now!”
Bellamy reached in his waistband, feeling around for his gun coming up short. A look of confusion passed over his face as the panther crept closer to him. For a split second, you hesitated, your anger and resentment towards Bellamy flashing through your mind. ‘he doesn’t deserve to live.’  You thought. But against your better judgment, you lunged forward, grabbing the gun and aiming at the panther.
You fired off a shot, the sound echoing through the forest as the bullet found its mark. The panther let out a fierce roar before getting ready to strike again. You straightened your aim, stepping closer before firing another round. The panther collapsing to the ground with a loud, its threat neutralized.
Breathless and shaken, Bellamy turned to face you with an eyebrow raised. "Guess I owe you one," he replied, his tone laced with sarcasm.
---
“They're back!”
The gates of the camp swung open, allowing everyone to stream back through the camp, you found yourself lingering behind, lost in the tumult of your own thoughts. Memories of your mother, her accusing words, and the weight of her disappointment flooded your mind.
You recalled the countless times she had blamed you for her circumstances, her voice echoing in your head like a haunting refrain. The sharp sting of her words, the relentless yelling, and the coldness in her eyes all played vividly in your memory.
"You coming?" Bellamy's voice broke through your reverie, pulling you back to the present.
You glanced up, meeting his gaze briefly before looking away. "Yeah, I'll catch up," you replied tersely, your tone betraying the turmoil within. Your legs guided you without a second though, taking your place on a log settled by the fire, surrounded by the other delinquents. You let the warmth of the flames ease the tension in your shoulders.
Harper and Miller's banter provided a welcome distraction, their jokes and laughter cutting through the heavy atmosphere that hung over the camp. You found yourself drawn into their playful exchange, a small smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you listened to their witty repartee.
"So, did you hear about the guy who stole a calendar? He got twelve months!" Harper said, laughing to herself while Miller poked the fire next to you.
"Oh man, that's almost as bad as your last joke!" Miller responded, shaking his head at her bad attempts at jokes.
You chuckled along with them, appreciating the light-hearted moment amidst the chaos of your situation. You caught yourself watching Bellamy, your eyes hazily looking over at the line forming in front of him.
"Next!" Bellamy shouted, while Murphy continued to break off the wristbands of each delinquent in line. You watched as he worked efficiently, his movements brisk and purposeful as he conducted his trade.
"Food for wristbands. One at a time, let's keep it moving."
Despite your lingering resentment towards him, you couldn't help but admire his resourcefulness and determination to provide for the group.
But when Bellamy's gaze briefly met yours, you couldn't bring yourself to accept his offer of food, instead choosing to remain seated by the fire, surrounded by the company of your fellow delinquents.
Every now and then, a knowing glint danced in your eyes, a subtle acknowledgment of the secret you held close. While Bellamy spoke with confidence, there was a hint of unease in his demeanor, a flicker of uncertainty that betrayed his facade of bravado.
It was clear to you that he didn't realize you were privy to his secret, the truth behind his presence on the dropship, the lengths he went to in order to secure his spot among the delinquents.

secrets out. bellamy blake x reader
summary 🛁: alie gets under the skin of everyone, even the ones who seem the most shut off
warning/s 🚽: swearing, depression, talks of miscarriage, and gif not mine, angst
slater’s note 🪞: season three truly was the best season. this is... dramatic? it has potential but i gave up.
Tumblr media
it was your turn.
alie crossed all of them off like a list. one by one, mind fucking them until they couldn’t handle it.
mind manipulation, you knew all about it and you were certain that it wasn’t something you could be so easily affected by. you had met a lot of people, had a lot of boyfriends, and friends, and even your own parents who enjoyed getting into your head with simple words that made you feel guilty or sick to your stomach.
you were sure she couldn’t get into yours.
“hello, sweetheart,” raven quirked her head, already analyzing you and your current mood. “see they finally brought in the big guns.”
you humph in amusement with lips slightly twitching upward as you made your way to one of the boxes that sat close to raven. you were hoping to rest, put your mind to ease as you sat before her, not expecting much to come from her mouth since you were a closed book.
clarke and jasper were practically left open and begging to be read as they sized up to raven with their emotions still filling their eyes to the brim. they were easy targets, easy to tear down, and easy to extract a fit from.
and although bellamy seemed just as shut off as you, he really wasn’t. bellamy had so many problems shoved in the back of his mind that they begun to pile and overflow. and with anger issues compiled from unsettled issues in his past; he was just as much as an easy target as they were.
everyone hits rock bottom, but not all get to face the humiliation of others also realizing and coming to spit in your face.. a plan alie was hoping to put in motion, she just had to bait you first.
“you’ve always been the smart one,” she slightly twisted her head, raven’s eyes dark and filled with a conscious that wasn’t her own. “always thought for the better of others.. never yourself,” she shook her head and you could tell by the way her eyes slightly squinted she had something up her sleeve.
you were intrigued.
“so.. selfless and yet you’re always blamed for every problem that comes up. why do you let that happen, y/n?”
you tilted your head to the side, not exactly finding truth in the last of her words, you had never felt blamed, and if anyone was a scape goat, it’d be murphy. but you still found yourself listening, eating up the lie like a story.
“which is why i’m confused as to.. why you took the chip..” her face screwed up and at the sudden words you inhaled sharply knowing very well everyone heard her words just as you did. “i mean, y/n, as much as a smart decision that was, it was a rather selfish thing of you to do, don’t you think?”
you kept your mouth shut, knowing this wasn’t the last of her words. she had a plan of some kind, she was still trying to get into your head and she felt so close by the way she had just watched you adjust yourself in the slightest way possible.
“like i said before,” you mumbled, “your chip didn’t work.”
“that’s too bad, isn’t it?” she whispered, almost taunting you, “whatever’s hurting you must be something real bad with how brave and strong you are, or—excuse me, seem to be.”
“someone should go in there,” jasper suddenly stood from his spot at the door, listening in, his mouth beginning to grow dry as he stood up anxiously, looking between bellamy and the rest of your friends listening with just as slack and uncomfortable expressions; taken aback.
he made a move to go in but bellamy quickly stopped him, “just wait.”
“bellamy-”
“but then again, the strongest of us always seem to carry the most. you would know wouldn’t you?”
your mouth twitched from frowning deeper as you thought of all the past torment, from the moment you were born to the moment you landed on the ground.
“shall we talk about why you took the chip?”
“we can talk about whatever you want,” you leaned forward with your elbows on your knees.
this couldn’t get any worse than it already was.
“i want you to choose. bellamy or mount weather?”
you swallowed harshly, but your voice was still stern as you stared at her with narrowed eyes, “neither,” you leaned forward, thinking of the many flaws to weaknesses that centered in your heart just with the those topics. “i want to talk about you, raven, only you.”
“deflecting the question won’t work, y/n,” she almost glared at you, “you said we could talk about what i wanted and now i made a decision; i want to talk about what happened in mount weather after you got shot.”
your face dropped and you didn’t even try to hide it, remembering exactly what she was talking about and the room suddenly felt hot and you wanted to leave but you felt completely sucked in like she was a vacuum, giving you no choice but to get swallowed.
“you were pregnant, right?” raven’s head dipped to the side, already knowing she had gotten to you despite your face no longer showing a sign of distress. “with a little girl?”
jasper’s gaze, as well as everyone else’s, landed on the side of bellamy’s jaw, eyes wide, holding their breath, waiting for him to step in, to stop it, do anything but freeze up like a stick, struck dumb with shock.. and hurt and a pain he couldn’t distinguish, something he had never felt before to the point he didn’t even know if it was all real.
raven tsk’d, eyes landing on her lap, “such a shame really.” you could see the sick smile that began to climb up her cheeks, making you want to scream, shout, anything to get rid of the pain clawing at your chest. “does bellamy know?” she looks up, as if wanting to really know, as if she didn’t already. “i mean he is the father after all, you think he’d deserve to know.”
he knew now.
“bellamy, do something,” clarke gaped at him, her hand tugging at his arm, begging him to snap out of the trance he was in. “bellamy, you need to go in there. you need to get her out of there."
“he held you... thinking you'd die, completely unaware of the baby inside that really took the bullet," raven inhaled, sighing, her head shaking. "that really is sad, i don't know how you didn't end it-"
you got up and she smiled, anticipating this moment. but you don't do what she wished you'd do. you stood calmly, staring deep into her hazel pupils, amusement snowing around, almost encouraging you to inflict pain on her.
"you're not real," your voice is low and quiet, "you can't effect me. you promote a false devotion and promise a final happiness and safety from pain, but you're flawed and can't even bring the weak of us down."
your eyes dart back and forth in search of some emotion in her eyes, but it seems she goes blank and shuts down like a computer until her jaw tips up, pulling closer to your face, whispering back, "you think that you're so brave, y/n. you think that you're some courageous soldier just because of the luck you had of showing up in the right place at the right time," you feel a hand grip your bicep while the other wrapped around your mid section, slowly pulling you away from the words that ran out of her mouth fast, “but you're wrong, deep down you're coward just like all your friends and my point is only further proven when you took the chip, because admit it y/n, you're scared, you're scared-"
you felt like you had been ripped from a different world once bellamy had spun you around to face him. your body shook internally as realization overcame you of what had all been revealed within that room. bellamy looked scattered as he stared into your eyes with his own wide ones. he didn't look himself; he looked worried and maybe even sad.
very sad.
"y/n, sit down for me, please," he grasped your arms lightly, pulling you down on one of the chair slowly and gently, afraid you'd break under his touch. he was completely disoriented and he wasn't even sure if what was all happening was real.
you stayed blank in the mind, feeling completely drained and distraught to the thought of what was running around in his head right now. it hurt that he now knew everything.
"talk to me," he slowly kneeled before you, "what—baby, what happened to you?"
you inhaled sharply, the feeling of tears beginning to form in the crest of your eyes as you begun to feel overwhelmed—your chest tightened and it seemed like such a strain on your lungs when you tried to breathe, "bellamy, a lot happened in... mount weather that i can't even begin to explain. i'm not even sure what was real and what wasn't."
"i was in a dark spot," it was hard to force out and you could barely look him in the eye with the intensity he kept within his eyes. his heart hurt for you and he couldn't even begin to think straight with all that was revealed with raven. "i can't think straight half the time, bellamy and after everyone was killed at mount weather.. and i was shot... i didn't feel like the same person anymore.. nothing felt right..."
you choked. your voice caught in the back of your throat as you attempted to explain yourself but he stopped you, shushing your voice as your tears begun to slowly fall and paint your cheeks. he pulled you close by the back of your neck, stroking his thumb against your scarred skin while the other wrapped around your waist, pulling you to him and his warmth. he held you tightly and so hard, that his ribs hurt but he didn't care because he was afraid that you'd slip from his grip, like you had before.
but you stayed and you held him just as tight, allowing yourself to sink, because this was the only thing that truly felt right.
