🥀 hi everyone!!!! i wanted to make something to show appreciation to some of my fav fic writers on here, bc as a writer myself, ive been noticing a tremendous amount of negativity and lack of interaction on fics recently. i'll probably update this list as i continue writing and existing here on Tumblr, and i'll attach it to my pinned post so people can view it whenever. its so disheartening and sad that fics aren't getting as many reblogs and interactions as they used to, and i just wanted to say that im so so proud of all of u and ur all wonderful writers!! i hope this list makes u happy, and i also hope this encourages some of my own followers to go check these people out!!

I didn't take a ton of notes for this. I think it's mostly because it's so cold lately I don't feel like taking my hands out of my pockets, and also I'm not great at typing while walking so I'd have to stop, which, cold again!

Keith talking about how ruminating /calms Eclectic down/ made me grasp my head. Like in disbelief. I went HUH?! out loud. I still haven't quite pinned down the exact emotion that was brought forth by, but I think it was partly a kind of the feeling that I was actively being catered to when I wasn't expecting that OR even wanted it like. I already liked the guy. This was unnecessary. And the other part was that I love it. Absolutely obsessed with this flavour of weirdguy-ism. It's so good in a... Hm. Ok I'm having Eclectic thoughts that I'll hold onto for now, but like. "good to have a character sketch" yeah it sure is!

...and here are a bunch of other Eclectic thoughts that aren't the ones I just mentioned. i did not even expect to type all this when i started

(SANGFIELLE SPOILERS IN THIS PARAGRAPH? sorry.) It IS kind of strange to have a new character coming in this late w/ how close the Blue Channel crew is... I've noted before that it's like, different to other FatT seasons were everyone is just so coworkers ever (Sangfielle being the epitome of that. To Me. "[...] and it is you standing over the body of someone you used to work with." BANGER line). Even Phrygian was weird, but in a way that fit because of who they were. What also plays into this is noone except Figure really having space for gravity clocks. Which like... obviously characters can have relationships without those, but there's a reason they exist which is like, this is so important that it has mechanical advantage, or this is something I want to explore, like that means something? And I still wish Phrygian had had more, because the one with Figure didn't even end up coming up like, basically at all. It's a shame Brnine was so popular re: clocks bc those two could've really benefitted from a gravity clock, since they were together on missions a lot with the B-Plot thing. Well and also I liked them. Sigh ok I got sidetracked. Phrygian... But yeah, it may just be that this sortie is exterbating it bc Eclectic is literally by himself fucking around disconnected from everyone going through the horrors together (and that's bonding, baby!). I don't know how much longer the season will be, and maybe the feeling I currently have, which is like "it's the Blue Channel! ...and that other guy" will change. And like if it wasn't clear I do love that other guy I think that other guy is the most immediately compelling character Keith has had (similarly to Phrygian, actually. With Phrydge it was the concept & design that really excited me (Branched!!!) and with Eclectic it's that he's literally so funny and also Keith acts him great)! And he JUST got here, so I don't wanna be unfair. But it's been kicking around in my head & I wanted to write it down at least. It's like, would /I/ like his character to have a deeper connection to the rest of the player characters? Yeah generally I guess I would. Does Keith gaf about that as a player? I don't know that, but it's probably less of an impulse for him than, say, Ali. That would be my guess as a listener, anyways. And I hope Keith is having a better time playing now! It feels like it, but then again I also had no clue that he /didn't/ with Phrygian until he said it. (Still miss Phrygian though. Which is in combat with me being actually really happy with how they end up, like it might be the most a character 'death' on FatT has worked for me (not that there are /that/ many, but still).)

Back to. the episode: Good ep! I don't have all that much to say (OK. LIE). Just a thoroughly good time in a bunch of different ways. Love the singular character focus. Also just really Fun, like, made me laugh a lot. Fun interactions between good friends and whatnot. A bit that made me laugh was at the end when Ali was trying to figure out how to be find a way through the catacombs and suggests something that Austin has this "what?? no. thats scary." reaction to. Wait I'll just get it:

ALI: [talking about navigating the catacombs] And does it involve going through one of these body holes. AUSTIN: (genuinely aghast) Oh my god! ALI: Like, are there other tunnels. AUSTIN: There are other tunnels but you never have to go through a body hole- well, I shouldn't say never. That's SO creepy.

Which then gets the very great visual of Brnine doing that. Like it IS creepy and person having to crawl through tight space IS a thing that just gets me, even though it doesn't really get focus here I can't help but immediately picturing it... I was also for some reason expecting for there to be another body blocking the way... I've said this before and then was immediately like haha jk but I'm over it I will stop pretending I'm NOT kidding. I want Figure to roll worse. I miss Gur. Can you Fail Figure? I miss my friend Gur Sevraq. It's a thin line between that and Figure dying though (I DON'T WANT THIS. Because I want them to go further as a character but also, (thought I had only recently) what happens to my friend. Name of Gur Sevraq?). Anyways Gur... "This is false. But not all false things are impossible. And many have happened before." and "This is a thing that has already happened. She has seen it." <- has me sitting down and stapling my fingers. The. Perennial. Perennial

I don't have anything to say about Brnine aside from that I love them and that Ali is on her A-game. "Brnine is. Brnine and killed the president but is still a goofy loser" like. Ok. That's everything to me

The differences in, say, Thisbe's dream vision vs. Figures is interesting. And Cori falls somewhere in the middle? Like, Figure catching on really quickly, and also being in this situation of... all their friends are dead. People fear them. Being so immediately one that they are uncomfortable in & that feels somewhat alien vs. Thisbe being in a role that she envisions for herself and as such presumably feels comfortable in? Austin seems to be playing at the hooks with the visions (& they are what got immediately affected when they entered those), and for Figure it's probably "The only way to escape the Witch is by endangering others, but they seem eager to accept the risk." that feels the most relevant there? Maybe the Witch part less so, but least Austin mentioning that Cori specifically sacrificed herself to save Figure reminded me of this just now. For Thisbe it's "Fighting is not my purpose, but there is nowhere else for me until the fighting is over.", which I already talked a bit about above, though what's super interesting to me there is that this is obviously not all that's happening. I don't quite know what to do with there being More of Thisbe / units of her type... Or how she feels about that, if any which way. Cori's is interesting too because next to her sword + shield tenets being pulled in (specifically mentioning that they should be on the defense multiple times, which Cori ignores to charge ahead!) it's also the sense of her not wanting to be... underestimated or looked down on. Which is very much the vibe with Elle as a rival btw (it's fun. I'm happy Austin is having a good time with them lol). Oh! Also Austin says something about how it would've gone bad either way (even if Cori HAD stayed back to defend), which is another difference to both of the others visions, but expecially Thisbe's. Vibes just different. Well I'm curious what'll happen there next! Brnine is coming to visit! I didn't even mean to type this much but this really is very cool to me. I'm looping back around to what Gur said, too... Wish they were here...

Oh and Cori being glad to see Figure & hugging them really got to me too. They're sweet :' ).

Wow!!! Very good but not the most happy books (understandably) Super informative and so many parallels to the current pandemic! Everyone should read this if not to be better familiar with a disease that’ll definitely be talked about more again in the coming future

Last Last Book: Piranesi by Suzanna Clarke

Wowow loved this book!! Such a cool and interesting format, walked into it blind and I think that was a great choice to make!! Another banger recommendation from Shayne Topp from iCarly!!

In college I studied business (economics and labor rights were my favorite topics) and theatre (mostly tech and theory, not acting) so perspectives can often come from those lenses!! History Interest Stuff::

BIG into Los Angeles history, specifically the history of Griffith Park (I could talk about that for hours!!) would love to chat about community spaces being epicenters for cultural change, especially Griffith and it’s use by all demographics during times when that was atypical (bc of vague deed details please ask more I love telling people abt it). Or it’s darker less talked about involvement in post ww1-cold war.

i’ve been in the fandom since may 2023, although i’ve been casually watching the show since season 1 came out.

i’ve only watched the show like 3 times total except for, mainly, the aaravos scenes (look don’t @ me HFJSKJFDSK) or for screencap reasons aaand i haven’t read through much of the bonus content </3 [puzzle house, tox, etc…. though i believe i do know most of the important bits :) ]

Okay time for hot takes here are my reviews of each season. I am being VERY generous here bc this is supernatural

1: a classic. the only time motw eps were scary. A good season if still trying to find it's footing. Most individual eps were good and the overarching plot is interesting while also easy to follow. 8/10

2: A great season. Sam's psychic plotline is great, the season finale slapped, not a motw ep that I dislike. Azazel is a great villain. 9/10

3: suffered from the writers strike, but the fewer episodes made it fast-paced and dean's hell deal hanging over them is one of my favorite overarching plots. Iconic motws like mystery spot and bad day at black rock. 10/10

4: my favorite season. Lazarus rising will always be a cultural reset. Addition of angels to the show was the best thing they could've done. Every single ep is a banger. Sam and dean's conflict was understandable and earned rather that forced like in later seasons. On THEE head of a pin. 11/10

5: also a great season but not as good as s4. The last six eps are great and I love them. The apocalypse plot is really good and lucifer is actually a scary villain. However I don't think I would've been happy ending the series on swan song like originally intended. 9/10

6: juggling too many plots. Didn't show the civil war in heaven at ALL which made cas's twist feel unearned. Motw were a bit stale however soulless sam IS my friend. The only reason this isn't my lowest rated season is tmwwbk. 6/10

7: I liked the leviathans sue me however they were not as scary as they could've been. godstoel was tragically underutilized. Sam's hell trauma and hallucifer were great to finally see. The motw eps zing wildly up and down in quality. Suffers from a critical lack of cas. Kind of depressing. 7/10

8: called season gr8 for a reason. Crowley, metatron, and naomi are all great villains. Many lovable side characters (minus amelia). The brother's conflict was annoying however their relationship in the back half made up for it. Love the trials plotline. 9/10

9: not AS bad as people say but not good. I am a moc dean stan so I am biased. First half was bad for every single character but the back end had some good eps and arcs (besides sam). What happened to kevin is unforgivable. Again I love metatron he's my friend. Angels plotline was interesting I wish they'd done more with it. The demon dean twist was great. 5/10

10: better than 9 but that's not a high bar. I wanted more demon dean BUT the moc plotline was great. ROWENA!!! Where are my good sam plotlines I need them. The frankenstein thing was extremely funny in a bad way. Bucklemming, again, are my enemies. 7/10

11: I LOVE 11. Doesn't have too many plotlines like every season post kripke era. Amara is a great villain. Every single chuck scene is great especially ones with lucifer and dean. Casifer my bestie casifer. The only bad thing was the crowley and casifer thing. Some great motws. I don't even mind the power of love ending. 9/10

12: MARY MARY MARY. I love her and her relationship with dean is incredibly interesting. Probably my favorite season in terms of one-off/motw eps. The overarching plots were very weak and the bmol were kinda ridiculous. Contraversial take I think the president lucifer thing was funny. 7/10

13: WIDOWER ARC NATION. Jack kline and dadstiel best addition to the show. The apocalypse world would've been interesting but they did nothing with it. Fun motws. The dean/lucifer fight was dumb looking but I AM a michael!dean stan so it gets a pass. Overarching plot was better than 10 and 12. Andrew dabb will die by my blade for making dean mean to children. 9/10

14: MICHAEL!DEAN STANS MAKE SOME NOISE. again underutilizing great concepts. Soulless jack plotline sucked ass. Where is bad mom mary I miss her. Moriah/the chuck reveal was GREAT. If anyone makes me look at m*rk p*llegrino ever again I'll gouge my eyes out. Some very fun motw like peace of mind and mint condition. If I ever see andrew dabb I'll kill him for writing l*banon. 8/10

15: chuck being the villain is one of my favorite plots it is the ONLY place the show could've gone. Character assassinated dean and never repaired his relationship with jack which is a crime. The f*nale (derogatory). Boring resolution but I love chuck's fate. Too much focus on sam and dean where are the fun side characters. Character assassinated billie. THEE confession THEE trap. 7/10

NJPW NEW JAPAN CUP 2020 FINAL Review (July 11th, Osaka-Jo Hall)

NEW JAPAN CUP 2020 FINAL: Kazuchika Okada vs. EVIL  ***1/4

So the 2020 version of the New Japan Cup is now in the history books, and it is done so in very memorable fashion in a decent show, that was really the warm up for tomorrows Dominion event. This was the first big wrestling show with an actual audience, and it honestly feels like it’s been years since we’ve seen one, to the point watching this was almost alien. Especially seeing as the 1/3 capacity crowd of 3,318 were instructed not to yell or cheer, instead having to rely on inventive clapping. The show kicked off with Young Lion duo Tsuji and Uemura putting in a losing effort to the GBH duumvirate of Makabe and Honma in a spirited little opener. Makabe pinned the promising Yuya with a Bridging German Suplex after 9:15 of very fun action. TenKoji squared off with Goto and Kidd next, in another decent outing. Kojima’s exchanges with Goto drove this one, before he pinned Young Lion Kidd with his patented Lariat at 9:57. Master Wato made his in-ring debut against DOUKI in an enjoyable match next. This was nothing more than a showcase for Wato, who looked good here, even if it was slightly bogged down by DOUKI’s Suzuki-gun tactics. Wato fought back, obliterating the masked heel with a succession of kicks, then getting the pin with his corkscrew senton finish they’re calling RPP at the 7:46 mark. Kanemaru jumped Wato after the match, but Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Wato’s mentor in the Dojo, came out to make the save, all of which likely sets up a tag match tomorrow. Look, it’s early doors on the Wato front, but I’m going to need some selling on this gimmick.

After a break to clean the ring, action resumed with the Bullet Club duo of Yujiro and Ishimori, very surprisingly beating the LIJ team of SANADA and BUSHI (though it all made sense by the end of the show) in an uninspired 9 minuter . This was just “a match” really, nothing especially wrong with it, it just wasn’t very interesting. The finish came when Takahashi pinned BUSHI with Pimp Juice. The 8 man tag that followed was supposed to include Minoru Suzuki, but he came down with a fever and was removed from these shows as a precautionary measure. Get well soon King. Kanemaru took his place in the usual really good encounter. Obviously this was built around the guys in tomorrows Tag Title Match with Sabre and Taichi paired off with the champions, Tana and Ibushi. Most of this saw the heels work over Tanahashi’s bad knee, softening him up for tomorrow. The finish saw it break down into everyone hitting spots, before Despy pinned Taguchi with Pinche Loco at the 12:43 mark. The post match saw Taichi and ZSJ beat down Tana, then try to pose with the belts, but Ibushi ran in, getting some revenge for all the times they’ve been left laying on this tour, Tanahashi took them out with Sling Blades, then the champs hit a double team suplex/final cut thing on Taichi, to this time leave the heels laying. LIJ and CHAOS had their umpteenth very good multi man on this tour, again driven by the exchanges between SHO and Shingo, who will battle tomorrow for the NEVER strap, and Ishii and Hiromu picked up where they left off from their Korakuen banger, having a very fun sequence. The finish saw the LIJ trio single out Yano, with Hiromu hitting a superkick, followed by Shingo nailing a Pumping Bomber, allowing Naito to get the win with the Jackknife cradle at 15 minutes exactly.

And in the main event, Okada and EVIL did battle over who would become the 2020 New Japan Cup champion. This was a good match, though it certainly wasn’t great, went much too long, and will be remembered mostly for the newsworthy aftermath, which bumps it up slightly. EVIL heeled it up all match, doing his trademark chair spot outside and attacking Okada’s eyes constantly. EVIL hit Darkness Falls onto a pile of chairs for a near fall, then hit a mighty superplex for another near fall. They exchange elbows as the crowd claps along, and Okada battles back with his dropkick, then locks on the modified Cobra Clutch, but EVIL escapes. Okada hits a Spinning Tombstone and locks the Clutch in again. Just as it looks like EVIL is out, Okada lets go to hit two short arm Rainmaker’s, ala the Hiromu semi final match, then locks the hold in again. This felt slightly like overkill to be fair. At this point, Gedo strolls down to the ring, distracting Red Shoes, as Yujiro Takahashi hits the ring and inexplicably nails Okada with Miami Shine, leaving both competitors down. At this point, it all started to make sense. EVIL hits a massive Lariat for a great near fall, then goes for Darkness Falls, but again Okada locks in the Cobra Clutch variant. The King Of Darkness drives both he and Okada into Red Shoes, then hits a low blow and the super-evil stomp to the balls. He then lifts Okada up and hits the STO to win the Cup at the 31:50 mark. 

The post match was super eventful as EVIL calls out Naito, who comes out with both belts. They claim its an all-LIJ Double Title Match tomorrow, and go for the fist bump, but EVIL wipes Naito out with the STO as all that remains of the current Bullet Club; Gedo, Ishimori, Yujiro and Jado, come out applauding. EVIL stomps on an LIJ hat, then they all do the BC “Too Sweet”, signifying EVIL’s defection, then starts stomping on Naito. The rest of LIJ run out to put an end to this and EVIL leaves with his new stable. This makes a lot of sense, especially seeing as the pandemic has relegated Bullet Club to only having two in-ring workers (one of whom is Yujiro Takahashi for goodness sake), and the others being Gedo and Jado, one of whom can barely move nowadays and shouldn’t be anywhere near a ring. The booking of EVIL has been great throughout this too, as he’s gone from just a face in the Los Ingobernables crowd, to a legitimate heel main eventer. We shall see if he gets a slight gimmick change tomorrow, but on the whole, Dominion should be lots of fun.
