Is there some psychological explanation for a person who regularly says, “I thought you/they hated eggs/pineapple/other third thing…” even though you can’t figure out why this person would be under that impression? It’s not a frequent thing, just that this person seems to be the only one in the family to make these statements.

Best I can figure, it’s the tendency of said person to make snap judgments from the information on hand, and their reluctance to linger over nuance because it takes too much time.
