Today I:

-woke up later than normal and had a chill morning, including an entirely uneventful Lulu walk

-split a sandwich with Jules on the final day of Wawa hoagie fest 🎉

-went to the pinball brewery to celebrate our wedding anniversary and put down some solid games, both solo and joint played

-made veggie potstickers for dinner that absolutely fucking slapped

confession: one of the main reasons I got back into my weird al phase was because before this I was in one of my many pinball hyperfixation episodes and discovered the Al pinball table and was so enamoured it sparked a full-scale Return To Al in my brain

I have this habit of bouncing off one fixation into something loosely related to it a lot actually. much like. much like... a pinball-

Abbacchio figured out how to play (and win) minesweeper, and he considers it one of his greatest accomplishments (like something his parents would actually be proud of).

Fugo figured out how to play the first time he tried it, and didn’t know that a lot of people go their whole lives wondering how you actually are supposed to play.

Narancia always gets blown up and he always chuckles when it happens.

Not a poll, but it's about time I revealed these..! Some older pictures of our running pinball machines! Pinbot and Comet.

Comet has been in my family for a long time, I even have baby pictures with it. I used to drag a chair into our kitchen and stand on it so I could play. It's gotten a nice cleanup and repair since sitting in our shed for years. It means so much to me and I would never give it up on my life.

Pinbot is our newest addition. We went to Las Vegas last year and visited the Pinball Emporium (we'd went last time, but this was our first visit to the new location). While I was there, my brother ecstatically came up to us and asked, "Want to see the pinball equivalent of drugs?"

Oh hell yeah. We fell in love with Pinbot and couldn't stop playing it the entire time we were there. We found a listing for one months later and just HAD to get it. It's gotten needed repairs since then.

We also have a Sharpshooter II out of commission at the moment, and sold our Zizzle Pirates of the Carribean 2 machine. When I was little, we also had a KISS pinball, but it was sold for good reasons.

Been overstimulated for going on 27 hours now. I have slept (badly, refer to: Insomnia) and am still overstimulated. I've had 2.5 panic attacks over this of varying degrees of severity.

I have tried sleeping (didn't work.) Music (made it worse) watching movies (made it worse. Then it didn't and I was blessedly distracted for a few minutes) coloring apps (I got overwhelmed) I am in a room by myself with blackout curtains, the lights off and a fan for white noise. I've tried alcohol (did nothing) 🍃 (eh.). I drink a ton of water.

Please if anyone has any suggestions that are not meditate or listen to the torture noises of 8D music please please please tell me so I stop wanting to claw my own skin off.

Finally watched willys wonderland kinda obsessed

Still reeling from going to an arcade to kill some time for a restaurant table and literally 90% of the "games" just being flashy graphics over literal random number generators. We crowded round a monopoly one bc it looked like it might be like, either trivia or some kind of mario party alike. You just pressed a button and it gave you a random amount of points. Like 10 times. There was a strength-tester... which generated a random number when you hit the button (with the hammer). There was ONE skee-ball thing and ONE ride-on motorcycle racing game that was clearly from like 30 years ago and totally alien among all these flashy mobile game lookalikes. They didn't even have like, DDR. Or, in fairness to more recent innovations, modern rhythm games. Who the fuck is paying to go to these places? I mean us, once, apparently. But 10 year olds literally deserve better than this. Like bare minimum engagement that isn't just 'press novelty button' because thats literally a slot machine with extra steps, for kids.
