Mesmo não sendo o grande objetivo da prática, o pilates pode sim ajudar a fortalecer, sabia? Por promover o ganho de massa magra de uma forma mais lenta que a musculação, por exemplo, o método é uma boa pedida para quem ficou um tempo parada por conta de alguma lesão e quer voltar aos poucos. “Os exercícios de pilates são executados incentivando a coordenação motora e a amplitude máxima dos movimentos. O que estimula mecanicamente os músculos e também a junção deles com os tendões”, explica a educadora física Carine Cristofolli, do KUROTEL.

O que trabalha: glúteo máximo, posteriores de coxa e músculos paravertebrais.
Como executar: deite com a barriga para cima. Flexione os joelhos e quadris em ângulos de 90º e apoie os calcanhares sobre a bola. Eleve o quadril e depois retorne à posição inicial.

O que trabalha: músculos do quadríceps e glúteos. Além de desenvolver o equilíbrio e controle excêntrico do movimento.
Como executar: Em pé e de frente para a cadeira, apoie o antepé esquerdo sobre o step e fique na ponta dele. O direito fica apoiado no assento da cadeira. Empurre o step para baixo até a sua perna direita ficar quase estendida. Retorne à posição inicial. Faça o exercício novamente trocando os lados das pernas. É como o primeiro exercício do vídeo da influencer e instrutora de pilates Lisa Hubbard acima.

O que trabalha: fortalece os músculos paravertebrais, glúteos e posteriores de coxa. Além de alongar a coluna.
Como executar: deitada de barriga para baixo, com a testa sobre as mãos unidas, pressione a bola entre os tornozelos. Mantenha a pressão entre as pernas e tire-as do chão. Faça movimentos de subir e descer, e não esqueça de deixar o abdômen contraído durante todo o movimento.

Quantas repetições fazer
Ao contrário da musculação, não há séries e nem repetições para seguir. “Contamos as respirações. O movimento é feito na fase de expirar, e o descanso, inspirar”, explica Carine Cristofolli. Segundo ela, essa estratégia é feita porque no momento em que soltamos o ar, toda a musculatura da região central do nosso corpo é ativada, potencializando o exercício e protegendo outras partes, como a coluna. 
Para começar, ela recomenda de 4 a 8 respirações e apenas uma série. Com o tempo, dá para aumentar esse número.
