I still think the funniest thing that's ever been established as kinda canon in drizzt books is that backporting is quite real and characters with powers from like second edition are still just hanging out quietly in the narrative

Underrated part of LOD was drizzt reconnecting with pikel and pikel trying to explain an elaborate plot to him

And drizzt comes out to tell artemis the vaguest details and artemis goes “that’s all you know?? You two were in there talking for like TWO HOURS-“for drizzt to immediately snap at him HAVE *YOU* EVER HAD A CONVERSATION WITH PIKEL BOULDERSHOULDER??SHUT THE FUCK UP

This book absolutely fab ;; not a dull moment

So Catti-brie is having sword problems again controlling her bloodlust.

Drizzt very much wants someone like him, and his wish is fulfilled by Innovindil.

The dwarves hang onto Bruenor as a beacon of hope, and that if they had let him die then that symbolically mean that all hope was lost, it was the idea of Bruenor, of an inspiring leader that they held onto. Drizzt in the meantime had a good cry session believing he had nothing left to lose. I don't know where I'm going with this. Hey speaking of his cry sesh he names his losses of Zak, Bruenor, Ellifain, the other companions. It's better that she was left out but at least spare some mind for your sister that raised you, was yet another victim to the lolth cult, and forsaken lolth while dying in your arms dude

I hope things turn out alright for nanfoodle - he's not all that willful and shoudra was a very large force in keeping everyone off their suspicious tale.

But now the dwarves (save for 51) are within Mithral hall and a reunion with Drizzt seems very unlikely (although they were very close!)

But obould seems unstoppable now as he just keeps getting upgrades - cant type gotta read nao

Anyway you know I didn't get a great intro to Pikel when reading Servant of the Shard but Glacier's Edge did the legwork to make me adore him.
