Ugh I'm so sleepy. Eepy man. Enjoy this shit I cooked up in ten minutes.

You wake up, only to find yourself just as tired as you were a few hours ago. Your eyelids are heavy, and you're fighting back sleep with every blink. Exhaustion wracking your body with every movement.

You feel Simon groan and sit up next to you.

"Mmm... five more minutes?" You mumble sleepily, shivering at the sudden lack of warmth.

"'M sorry love, we've gotta get up"

"Please? I'm so tired..." You whine quietly

"Negative," he says, chuckling at your miserable pout.

"Please, Si?" You say it so sweetly. The nickname you rarely used. His weakness.

A moment passes before you finally hear a response.

"Fine."

You grin, knowing that you've won. He lays back down and wraps his arm around you, pulling your back to his chest. You close your eyes and sleep quickly overtakes you.

Of course, it was never just 'five more minutes'. Simon called your work shortly after and informed them that you wouldn't be coming in today. However that works.

Pride Petty Watch (The Untamed) 1/?

I let the crowd pick which two blacklisted shows I would watch from my Petty List, so I flew through the first one knowing I had this 50-episode beast waiting for me. People have warned me that the first two episodes wouldn't make sense, there are a ton of characters to keep track of, I need to watch it at normal speed, and I need to keep the sound on. Therefore, I was already mad before I hit play, yet somehow I started the first episode, blacked out, and emerged five episodes later.

Which means I like it so far, and here's some quick reasons why:

Before I start, these two better be an item because they are my favorite BTS song aka "🔥" and since I haven't seen them in the present yet, I'm fearing something happened to them in that great battle in the past, and if so, I'M GOING TO BE BE LIVID! I've had them for three whole minutes, and they are everything to me, so I feel this story is going to fuck me over.

Everyone is chasing after this golden black snitch, yet nobody is catching it, so although there is a lot of death happening, I'm laughing.

If you squint, My Stand-In and The Untamed are the same. Boys who fell off a cliff come back in another body only to live the same life with the same people and make the same bad decisions. Cool cool cool.

This current lecturer is stating nobody could find the body but he fell into fire/lava, so what body were they thinking they would find?! Also, don't think I didn't catch homeboy getting in trouble in the past for asking in class what happens when a spirit demands revenge and the instructor got upset because look where we are now! Possession of a body for the sake of revenge. Should've entertained the question, professor, because sixteen years later, it will come back to haunt you, literally.

And homeboy applied his own theory of making the possessed bodies work for him to fight the other body. He is a smart cookie, and that's why the original Moo Moo person gave his body up to him.

@dribs-and-drabbles, if this is why you told me I needed the sound on, I'm confident I'm not going to remember this melody. And how is he playing a leaf right now?

I can't take this seriously. This feels like an 80s music video, and he is about to hit me with the hottest synthesizer intro.

I can't play an instrument but for a DIY flute made out of bamboo on the spot, I thought his playing was excellent. For people being saved from being squashed, they are some haters, and I would have stopped playing just so they could suffer.

I picked up that sister is dead in the future, but her kid is a brat, and I would've been mean to him too.

And did the brother really kill him in that battle on the hill because when the entire crowd was like "you killed him, right?", he was looking like . . .

So this is the brat's daddy? It would make sense that a man who shut down an entire hotel for his party would have a son who sets 400 traps so nobody else can catch anything. The privilege is genetic.

I like him AND I respect him. He has priorities and they are to drink and party because even when he came back in that other body, he snatched the liquor. As the opening showed, he's here for a good time, not a long time.

I don't like Fuddy Duddy. He can remember 3,500 rules (this place is where fun goes to die), but couldn't remember to tell my party bro that his sister and brother were inside? Everybody just left homeboy without a note saying where they are, and Fuddy Duddy had the information, yet was too busy lecturing about rules. AND committed the ultimate party foul and wasted the liquor. Make that the 3,501th rule! He's lucky he can lay the synthesizer so well.

This is where the big battle is/was (Nightvale, Nightshade, NightWhatever), and I hope this man died in it because he is doing TOO MUCH! "I don't fear death; I fear boredom" YOU'RE boring! Shut up and go collect the pieces of that dumb rock, Thanos Jr., so we can get this battle going.

HE BROUGHT A BIRD INTO CLASS! This is the everyday American high school class.

Why is everyone in the Fire Nation so pissed? Is it because it's hot there? All of y'all are doing too much except for that sister and her brother. I know that brother was the zombie guy from the statue fight, so that means the main homeboy was talking to Fire Nation sister at the graves. That was her family's grave, and she must be a good person, who is probably dead now too.

So they can all play magical instruments? They're like Josie and the Pussycats, playing gigs between fighting crime.

The brat's dad is gold, the Cloud Recesses (what is this name about because they should be a lot more fun with a name like that?) are white and blue, and the Fire Nation is red, so it's odd that homeboy had the dark blue robes with red underneath before coming to school, and keeps getting really friendly with the fire people. Plus the cloud people's power is blue, but his comes out in bursts of red. Is his daddy really Fire Nation? Get Maury on the line.

So his bird buddy gave him porn, which he gave to Fuddy Duddy, who then ripped it up. No wonder why he is so good at school and remembers 3,500 rules. Got nothing but time on his hands since he isn't using his hands doing anything else by being so repressed.

Fuddy Duddy just said he doesn't touch people, yet in the very beginning he snatched homeboy's hand without hesitation, so he wouldn't fall to his death. Then, he snatched that premium liquor for him. I see you and your heart on your sleeve, my man! Just like this water demon, the feelings are sneaking up on you and snatching you up!

Should've bought her the comb, bro, because she's going to be dead after that big battle since she was sent to snoop for the Fire Nation. Even though she is trying to help her brother, I feel this will be y'alls Romeo and Juliet moment.

So the brother was always going to come back from the dead since he already was cursed(?), and my homeboy is once again proving to be a friend to all. I like you, and I will learn your name, hopefully by episode 28.

Only three marks healed in the present, so whoever is the last mark has to be one of these hoochies, and the more backstory I get, the more I think it's going to hurt when I find out who the last mark is.

Half these people have already died leading up to that big battle and the other half will die as homeboy sets out on his Kill Bill journey, so like . . .

The End of the Year

this was hands down the worst year of my entire fucking life. was hospitalized for 2 months, went into cardiac arrest multiple times, had a stroke, got disowned by my family, was homeless for most of it, suffered multiple severe infections, lost about 60 pounds from starvation and it never really got better

but dismal and wretched as it was, there was still good in it. And it all came from everyone who helped me smile when i forgot how to. So raise a glass for;

Holy crap! Now that it’s been confirmed, no wonder Cody doesn’t want us to freaking reset the game! Because if we do, then Cody themself has to face what they did! To Blue, to their Pokemon, to everyone in the game! Every character, every point in the story! And they’ll be in our control…. Would they be able to speak? And would they even be themselves?! Or would they be molded to fit the protagonist character?! Holy frick, this comes with so many terrifying realizations! Charizard’s punishment….. The irony of forcing Cody the hacker to live through their hack…. The control, the chains, the possibility of Cody losing themselves in the game, because at the end of the hack, we end up killing the trainer do we not?! So we would end up killing Cody! Unless they destiny bonded US! Holy crap! This is some amazing story telling Sparks! Great job!

gonna put this answer under the cut bc i'm rambling and it's image-heavy!

the game characters used the PC to edit the game's RAM, not the game's ROM. so any modifications that the in-game characters make through the PC is undone upon a new game. blue comes back to life, the player character loses their voice again, etc.

it's pretty clear from how pikachu talks about how a new game works that cody will lose their memories and become a non-sentient blank slate character.

but on the thought of cody destiny bonding the player. it definitely puts THIS post into more perspective, doesn't it.

and THIS post, too.

cody may be willing to kill sentient video game characters like red/leaf and charizard, but they do still have a strong sense of morality when it comes to killing "real" people. they don't want any "real" person to suffer the same fate that they have.

cody doesn't believe regaining their sentience is possible - but they fear that if they somehow DO, they won't be themself anymore. that they'll go on the same path red/leaf did and hurt someone else.

it's why they're so adamant on you destroying the game if they ever lose their memories - the game is too dangerous to be played.

either way- thank you! all of cody's dialogue over the past two years has been carefully crafted in anticipation for this big reveal. it puts a lot of older posts in a new light - there's so many little details and nuances with cody's dialogue that i would Love to talk about someday, but it's SO much to cover, haha.

Ok you guys aren't ready for where I'm going to take this (except Human) because I had an idea for vampire!Abigail that involves Marlon and Rasmodius getting together. Cuz you know, like, 2 dads or whatever. (Technically 3 but Pierre? Ugh. He’s wimpy comic relief in this only)

For the purposes of this fic, Abigail is the wizard's daughter and only him and Caroline know.

Anyways I'm trying to do A LOT with this one so maybe I just do bullet points this time to give you the idea

There's no farmer, instead Marlon takes Abbie under his wing as a young adventurer

Rasmodius (because he watches everyone, like a creep) sees this and is like UGH not that THAT GUY, because Marlon is essentially his annoying coworker. Marlon tries to be buddy buddy with him and Ras is not about it. Like bro do your job protecting the valley and shut up pls.

Abbie stumbles on something she shouldn't in the mines, accidentally unleashing an ancient evil vampire and getting bit. It's very important to me that she turns into a bat. It happens automatically when the sun touches her skin, as a defense mechanism. She can survive in the sun as a bat.

So shit hits the fan obviously. Caroline goes to the wizard's tower screaming and freaking out because her daughter is missing and she is certain he has something to do with it (she hadn't known about Marlon) and Rasmodius pieces together it probably has something to do with the ANCIENT EVIL now on the loose. He assures her he is going to take care of it and has no choice but to team up with (ugh) Marlon.

Marlon doesn't know about Abbie. Ras is keeping all his secrets close and being careful about which info he gives to who. They go on an adventure of bonding. Important features of which are homoerotic wound dressing, and Marlon getting serious with Ras about his past and stuff. So he sees another side to him and starts to gain respect for the man.

A lot happens next that I don't have worked out yet sue me its just a concept rn. I have a few different ideas for how Abbie's side of things can go. She could potentially get out of the mines and turn into a bat which leads to her flying to the tower bc who else would believe her? Or she could be trapped in the mines with the original vampire and be like his spawn under his control or something.

Either way, we end up at a moment of truth where Marlon realizes Abbie has turned and feels like they need to kill her or otherwise trap her for eternity or something. And Ras is like tf no Im not condemning my daughter to that and Abbie and Marlon both are just [shocked pikachu face]

BATTLE OF THE DADS. DAD DUEL. FATHER FIGHT where they are physically fighting but also arguing about who knows best for her since the wizard has literally never spoken to her in her life but is also the one trying to save her, while Marlon actually did become a strong father figure for her but wants to kill her (only to end her suffering ofc)

Imagine they are fighting and Abbie just calls over them like "Not really suffering a whole lot, to be honest!" because this is a dark comedy as well as a romance.

Ras wounds Marlon badly enough (owie, it hurt his heart to do though, what is this, FEELINGS?) that he is subdued. Abbie and Ras take on the ancient vampire and nearly DIE but Marlon comes back and saves the DAAAY

He has the opportunity to also kill Abbie and doesn't, he's come around to compromise his morals for the sake of the ones he loves

Potentially even more homoerotic wound dressing and then they KISS with their old scruffy man beards and Abbie pretends to vom

Pokémon Monochrome Micro Theory - "Mortality Theory"

So! With the @pkmn-monochrome blog reaching it's ASSUMED climax today, everyone's REALLY looking forward to how the story will end, or what CODY's fate will end up being. CHARIZARD has told CODY that she could skewer them, and asks the question on if the world would even allow CODY to die. Now, I've got my own thoughts, and I want to share them here as a sort of micro-theory.

This isn't something I do usually, so excuse me being a bit rambly or scrappy with the way it's formatted!!!

(I will be naming "Hacker" and "Trainer" Cody as "Cody" and "CODY" respectively. Just so you know which little critter i'm talking about!)

Here I want to predict an answer to one thing: Will, or CAN CODY even die? (I promise this is interesting!)

I will say immediately that I don't think it's even possible for CODY to die, at least not by being murdered or harmed. Why?

Well, Cody made the Pokémon Monochrome rom-hack which us, the players, get ahold of. The hack is altered and warped to the will of Cody during the development on the hack, to reflect their own thoughts, preferences and views. Thus the logic which the world follows should line up with Cody's own will.

The most obvious example of this is quite obvious: The three ghosts & CODY themselves are reflections of Cody's thoughts and mind, as implied and directly stated by several characters such as CHARIZARD. 

Where am I getting with this? I think that Cody was against the idea of the permanence of death, and thus CODY will not be able to fully die until the cartridge rots, or their own code is altered or removed.

Now that might sound absolutely crazy, but hear me out! I will try to back up my idea.

Exhibit A: The GHOSTS

Three of the most important characters in the storyline of Pokèmon Monochrome are the ghosts of PIKACHU, BLASTOISE and CHARIZARD. This shows that they returned to life after their passing or removal in the game. I see this as them being anomalies - things that aren't meant to be but are, simply because of Cody's own mindset regarding the topic of death. Even after the GHOSTS arguably die again, such as CHARIZARD, they are shown to return the moment the flute is played at their grave. No matter what, they can always come back, and continue to torment CODY.

So if the GHOSTs are able to come back from dying twice... Why can't CODY?

Exhibit B: CODY

Now, CODY themselves! I think this one particularly striking, as CODY is practically stuck in a form of purgatory after Cody died - refusing to die at all costs. Note that the tower is a literal purgatory meant for the player character after they get a GAME OVER. Due to Cody's will, they were kept alive inside of the game in some way upon their passing, forming who we now know as CODY.

Aside from that, they also suffer from some injuries: Lacking wrists, with the inside of their cuffs being filled with a glitchy static... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall it being said that it was a form of in-game censorship to cover up the flesh and bone? I swear the author of Pokémon Monochrome stated it somewhere... and if memory serves me right, it's a massive detail! As it shows CODY doesn't show physical pain on major injuries, or at least it would go away rather quickly...

Exhibit C: Spark's Comments

Throughout the duration of the blog, Sparklingdemon (the author of Pokémon Monochrome) has shared some canon details about Cody and the world of Pokémon Monochrome, and a recent post regarding Cody has intrigued me, and is a big cornerstone in this whole theory.

Sparks stated that as Cody was developing the hack, they wanted to subvert the trope of a typical poképasta. For example, they stated that Cody wamted no Missingno, no dead Raticate, no self-aware protagonist, and... most importanty to the theory: No blood and gore.

If Cody's will is brought upon the world of Pokémon Monochrome, this means that CODY's body can recieve no further harm than it already did. Beit torn, bitten, shredded... they will always remain in tact.

Now, how does this all connect?

I firmly believe that, even if CODY were to theoretically "die" at CHARIZARD's hand. it wouldn't be long before they return due to Cody's thoughts against the very idea of death.

Because the world was molded strictly to Cody's will, their reincarnation (for the lack of a better term) will remain alive inside a purgatory of their own creation.

It doesn't matter how many times they die, it doesn't matter how many times they're mauled, CODY will remain stuck until the destruction or decay of their cartridge. Or you know, if the players started a New Game.

Or at least, that's what I reckon. Hey, at least they'll only have to endure it for less than 15-20 years instead of an eternity...!

All in all, I can't wait to see what happens today, I could ramble about connections and theories related to this series all day!! But I'll spare you the details. I sure hope we won't have to put this theory to the test.

Ok I got a few Pokémon and a Pokémon trainer: Celesteela, Bounsweet, Mimikyu, Comfey, Stakataka, Vileplume, Lilligant, Gourgeist, Bellossom, Maractus, Lurantis, Leavanny, Giratina, and Cynthia. Hope that’s not too many.

Oh lord….Pokémon Speedrun!!!

Celesteela - From my research, there isn’t much personality to this Pokémon. It seems to be based off of the sin of sloth, but can be quite dangerous when irritated. So, it might nom its trainer to get them more comfortable when they’re relaxing. It might even heat itself up during the wintertimes to prevent its trainer from getting cold.

Bounsweet - Oh this poor baby needs a break. Virtually all it’s Pokédex entries state that it usually falls prey to bird Pokémon such as Tucannon. It also stated that they usually don’t care and their attempts at warding off predators are useless. So, I can see this going two ways. Perhaps its trainer will be willing to swallow it down to help protect it, especially during the summer months. However, my favorite way is that maybe a bird Pokémon would swallow it to protect it from others who want to hurt it. It might be scared at first, but I like to think that they’ll grow closer over time. (I like to imagine this as Corviknight because I love them and they are big steel birds.)

Mimikyu - WAY too dangerous to be a pred! Did you see what it did to Meowth in the anime?! It nearly killed him! So…safest bet is to keep it as a prey. A lot of its Pokédex entries often say that it feels extremely lonely, hence the Pikachu disguise. So perhaps its trainer or a friendly wild Pokémon could nom it to comfort it. Feeling the warmth of another being surrounding it will most definitely put it at ease.

Comfey - A lot of Pokédex entires talk about the soothing aroma that this critter releases to calm people down. So, imagine how soothing it might be to have one inside of your tum. That honestly sounds wonderful. Both the pred and the prey get to feel nice and comfortable and the Comfey will definitely be willing to soothe others like this.

Stakataka - While doing research on this creature, I found out that each brick on it is a different life form! So, that makes noms kinda tricky with it. So, I think it would make the most sense if it lowered its body onto its trainer to protect them. (It has an opening on its underbelly). Sure it may not be the most comfortable place in the world, but they’re safe and protected by its stone walls.

Vileplume - Literally ALL it’s Pokédex entires talk about how poisonous the pollen it releases are. In Sapphire and Alpha Sapphire though, it talks about how it uses the pollen to paralyze and devour prey. Obviously, we like wholesome stuff. So, I think it might be cute if it swallowed small Pokémon who were about to inhale the pollen. Not as food of course, but to protect them the paralyzing toxins.

Lilligant - Dex entries talk about the relaxing effect the garland on its head has. It also says how difficult it is to take care of and that it’s well liked by both humans and Pokémon alike. Personally, I think a Lilligant would try to soothe its trainer or a stressed Pokémon with its flower. Then, it would nom them to keep them soothed and relaxed. I can also imagine it swaying to add to the soothing effect.

Gourgeisf - This Pokémon is known to cause suffering to both people and Pokémon. Dex entries state that it likes to entangle its prey in its hair-like arms. Bigger ones pretending to be adults ho after children while smaller ones pretending to be children go after adults. However, what if there was a nice Gougeisf? One that soothes its prey by putting them into a gentle hold before placing them inside its warm, pumpkin belly? Personally, I wouldn’t mind that at all.

Bellossom - This Pokémon is pleasant and cheerful! It also loves to dance and creates a soothing sound when it does! Maybe it could swallow small Pokémon to keep them safe from the rain. I can also imagine it being quite fun to be in this Pokémon’s tum when it dances.

Maractus - This is a cactus, so being prey is 100% off limits. For the most part, these Pokémon stay still to conserve energy and water. What if one had a water Pokémon as a buddy? I can see it gently nomming their aquatic buddy to keep them wet since the desert is so dry. In return, the water Pokémon gives it water so it can stay hydrated. That’s what I call a symbiotic relationship.

Lurantis - These Pokémon are incredibly difficult to take care of due to how delicate their coloring is. So, it must form a special bond with its trainer to feel truly happy in their care. Since it is based off of a praying mantis, I think it will show affection to its trainer’s by nomming them. Carefully keeping them safe and warm.

Leavanny - This Pokémon is a very motherly creature and is known for making leaf clothes for small Pokémon. So, it’s not too far of a stretch to assume that it would be willing to nom small Pokémon to keep them warm and comfortable. After all, it must be scary being so small in such a big world.

Giratina - The embodiment of dark matter itself. It has been banished to the Distortion World due to its violent behavior. However, Pokémon trainers are known to bring the best out of their Pokémon. Given the proper trainer, Giratina could possibly be soothed. To show its love and care for its trainer, it will swallow them whole to provide them a warm, safe place to rest.

Cynthia - I often see her in nom scenarios as the pred nomming her opponent after they lose to her as a form of punishment. Why can’t it be for a form if encouragement though? After seeing a trainer try over and over again to beat her, I like to imagine her nomming them to comfort them and help their self esteem. Who knows. She might even give you some tips!

POV: You're a tired college student sitting in the lecture hall before Reca's class in 2.6

You're attending Penacony's Paperfold University College. It's the middle of the night (it's Golden Hour, Penacony, it's always the middle of the night, good luck waking up on time for your classes LMAO) with a professor your film major buddies have only described as "passionate" and one outwardly finds super weird. You looked him up on the universe's equivalent of RateMyProfessor and he's sitting at 3.5 out of 5 stars because no one can live up to his exacting standards and also he's apparently a little crazy? Like you've had sadistic professors who loved failing their students, but you'd think they would mention that in the reviews. So who knows what that means. Hopefully nothing bad.

Anyway this is just a one-time seminar for fun so you're thankful, but the art building sucks. You're sitting in the coldest, draftiest lecture hall you've ever seen. You can hear the radiator hissing. The desks are so scratched and cut-up they look like they might give you splinters. For how many years have these desks existed? How many generations of animators and film people have been taking notes on this thing? Is this what all film majors have to suffer through? Hell, is this what all art majors have to suffer through? Thank goodness you're... not that.

And there's a chalkboard. If there's one thing you don't need when you're this exhausted, it's the sound of chalk squeaking on a chalkboard.

And while you're watching the seconds tick by, in walks a trio of people your age. and you're looking at them and you're like, none of them have ever been to a college before. (Probably offworlders.)

Like there's this guy with black hair who's just super quiet (way too quiet, and way too serious) but when's the last time you saw a college student carrying around a fresh case bound notebook that doesn't look like it was bought at the mall? Those things get destroyed if you carry them around in your bookbag for too long- you figured that out your first week. He looks way too ready to take notes amidst the background noise. He's writing the planet name, system date, and "Seminar with the film director Mr. Reca" at the top of that expensive looking notebook's second page. And the ink isn't feathering or bleeding through the page. Your animation friend would probably be obsessed with that paper, she keeps going on about how important good paper is, but you can't afford the stuff. Maybe you should ask him the brand later.

And he's being talked at by a pair of chatterboxes. One of them is, once again, way too well-dressed to be a habitual college student. She did her clothes up in blue, pink, and white to match her hair and eyes. It's pretty cute, all things considered- you wish you still had the energy to dress up like that at 6am. Maybe you should ask her for fashion advice. The pitch of her voice rises above the din of the room. "Ooooooh, I can't wait! This is going to be so cool! A seminar by a real film director! It's a shame Mr. Yang couldn't attend. He'd love this kind of stuff!".

The second chatterbox is this snarky looking person you can't really get a read on. They didn't even bring a notebook. They outright state they've never been to a college before. And now they're going on and on, trying to compare this lecture hall to buildings on planets you've never really heard of. Random thoughts about Pit Babe the series ep 10:

I was really waiting for this episode and I knew it would be filled with sadness and sorrow.

▪️Babe had a fight with Charlie before the race because his boyfriend was concerned about him. Babe thought Charlie didn't trust him and said some hard words to him. He was angry at him and it was their last conversation before the accident. Obviously, Babe was heartbroken. No one would want an argument to be the last conversation you have with anyone, even more when it is your lover. Babe really suffered in this episode. I said it before but I think Pavel really knows how to cry. He is a pretty crier. You do believe in his sadness and terrible loss just by looking at him. Of course, the sorrow was followed by anger and a will to get revenge. I feel sad for Babe because he lost his best friend, his father abandoned him, Tony took advantage of him and he had to lose the only person he ever loved and felt safe with. It was hard to watch him be utterly distraught.

▪️In the middle of all this drama, Jeff made a move on Alan because he has to wait until he decides to do it, he would have to wait an eternity. That kiss on the cheek was cute but I was expecting more! Alan is supposed to be in his thirties but he flirts like he is a pre-schooler. Jeff must really like him because I would have given up. He has been flirting a lot and Alan always seems to have this surprised Pikachu face when he finally understands what is going on. I wish they made their romance start earlier because we still have to wait until next week to get a proper kiss. At least, they are living in the same place. Proximity is the key to making the romance bloom.

▪️Kim finally was out of Tony's clutches. I hope it is because Kenta helped him get to Jeff but we never got confirmation. To be honest, I was surprised when Jeff brought him to Alan's house to protect him. It felt like they made some cuts in the episode and the rescue of Kim wasn't brought smoothly enough into the story. I don't know...

▪️Tony was again very abusing towards Kenta. It is getting harder and harder to see. This kind of constant abuse must be really hard to deal mentally. I wish we got more backstory or explanation about Kenta. I feel bad for him.

▪️Way was trying to drink his sorrow at the bar and was used as an emotional punching ball by Babe, when he tried to act on his revenge plan to get to Tony through the only person he knew worked with him. Way denied any involvement in Charlie's accident. I didn't think we would see him that soon after what he did to Babe. I don't know how they will bring him again into the plot. Will he try to redeem himself by helping the X-Hunter fam when they go after Tony?

▪️Finally, we had confirmation that Dean was working against X-Hunter. He was sus since last episode. He may not be entirely responsible for Charlie's death but what he did was really shitty. He has an ego, he is pretty jealous and can't accept that he may not be as good as he thinks he is. Also, he did try to hurt Babe and was giving some stupid excuses for his behaviors. If you wanted to be outside you could just get out and find another team. Why are you trying to sabotage your previous team just because they never gave you what you wanted?! He was whining and it was annoying to hear because we never saw him try to do anything except complaining.

▪️Of course, we all know that Charlie is not really dead. The trailer gave us the clue, so it's not exactly something ground breaking. It was part of his plan, he talked about with Jeff in the last episode. Now, Babe has his power back and will collaborate with Pete to bring down Tony. Charlie will probably just save Babe's life again because he only thinks about protecting his lover.

Anyway, I still like this series and will be ready for episode 11, next Friday. Let's hope it won't have the curse of episode 11 because Babe has already suffered enough.

Pikachu was really sorry for having said those words.

Because now in front of him was the delirious body of the human who insisted on being his friend and who had saved him from a terrible death at the hands of the Sparrows.

Beaks that had pierced the skin of the human who had stood between him and his attackers.

Taking full responsibility for his actions and his previous words.

"No matter what happens, I will protect you, friend" He had told him before they fell to the ground due to a tackle on his back.

Small electrical traces ran through the body of the young man who had increasingly longer intervals between breaths and blinks that tried to keep focused a look that lost brightness and intensity with each given snort.

Making the rodent remember the terrible attack that he had let escape in an effort to protect the human who was about to lose his eyes and more of that vital scarlet liquid at the hands of the killer birds, an attack that called a lightning bolt powerful enough to turn everything around him into dust and end his little pikachurine life, but that the young man received full on the back when trying to protect him from the worst of the electric voltage.

Stupid. Thought to himself the pokemon as he watched the human being scorched and tortured by the natural electric energy, I can handle this. You can not.

Why? Why had he risked so much to save him? Him, someone who wanted nothing to do with them and who planned to abandon him at the first moment.

Why had he done that?

Tears of frustration began to appear between the electric pokemon's bowls, and more so when his eyes registered the movement of the dying boy who was trying to make a last effort between the remaining rain to get closer to him. "he.. " a semi-dry cough interrupted the young man's efforts, —"H…e… y" each letter left seemed to have an effort more than a thousand times greater than that of any other pokemon the professor knew.

His breathing began to be more labored and a strange sound similar to a whistle began to accompany each of the young man's attempts to inhale and exhale. "… Ca... can we be... f...riend..s now?" another cough (this time it sounded drier, however the crimson drops that were expelled from his mouth said otherwise) interrupted the young man's attempt at speech.

But Pikachu didn't need any context in this option, only choosing to approach and nod while licking his nose.

"T...that's good… at least…" another cough left the body of the young man who was lying on the rocky and mixed with natural fluids around him, but that did not prevent a slight and sincere smile from adorning his bruised face, " … I I finally made a friend…" the breathing began to be worse in the boy who with a tear in his eyes and a smile that half managed to reflect in those glassy orbs, he quickly took off the cap he had.

" T thank you… for giving me my dream… and .. please, don't blame yourself… be.. .. fr.. e.. g.. ou.. , .. nd.. se.. ek.. your´s" the cap rested on the head of the rodent who with tearful eyes saw how the body of the young man began to slowly shine in thousands of luminous particles.

"je.. sorry for leaving early… You're my best friend…"

With those last words, the boy let his last tears fall as he closed his eyes in a serene and happy expression before his body shut down completely.

Pikachu could't stand it Apparently he had been that boy's only friend for just two minutes.

The tears began to fall continuously and desperately as he tried to take the small particles of light that, heap by heap, made his human friend's body disappear and tried to return them or prevent them from disappearing.

Why? Why did he have to suffer this?

Why had he done it?

I'll do anything to be your friend.

The memory of that phrase stopped him and made him shake his head strongly.

No.

No.. not him. He couldn't have. Or could he? Well then die… He had done it.

The boy had kept his word and now they had both paid for the price of it. A price that Pikachu was willing to return if he was given the chance because… What is a world without friends?

The cry of pain was heard and resonated in each of the corners and hearts of the forest.

Making everyone join in the silent and merciless cry in memory of a boy who did everything to have a friend.

A friend who would now guard his grave until his days were finished counting.

Because it was the last thing he could do for such a brave and innocent soul.

Is anyone else still mad at the Pokémon Square townsfolk?

That whole "Pikachu is actually a human and the Ninetales legend says that when the human wakes up as a Pokémon, the world's balance will be upset and the apocalypse will happen. So we should """"get rid of""" Pikachu and the world will be saved, right?" thing.

Like, they take what Gengar, leader of Team Meanies, (and THE ACTUAL HUMAN TURNED POKÉMON FROM THE ACTUAL LEGEND) says at face value and immediately decide that murdering Pikachu is the only way to solve their problems.

They turn on the poor little Sugar the Pikachu and Sprinkles the Eevee who have been peacefully going about their lives doing their rescue work and have been nothing but friendly and conversing with everyone.

Rescue Team Sweetheart becomes public enemy number one and the townsfolk and every Rescue Team in existence chase two innocent Pokémon to the literal end of the continent, and Sugar and Sprinkles suffer from exhaustion, constant threat of attack, possible starvation, possible hypothermia, SPRINKLES DOES CATCH A COLD AT SOME POINT ("Eww, my nose is running!") for a period that is implied to last weeks or months. They also nearly get killed by TWO Legendary Birds!

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON TEAM A.C.T. Alakazam, the Gold Rank explorer with the IQ of 5000 gives into peer pressure and decides to join the lynch mob. Alakazam who is already aware of the Ninetales legend. How come Mr Big Shot Smart Explorer didn't try to diffuse the situation and find another solution?

Everyone trusts Alakazam enough that him being an eyewitness to Ninetales confirming that Sugar ain't evil in her past life and telling everyone she has nothing to do with the disasters is enough to clear her name. He could have said "Hey, how about we DON'T kill the supposed human who's causing the disasters? She has no motive, she lost her memories, we have no guarantee she's even the same human from the Ninetales legend that's causing the natural disasters, we should look into this and come up with a better solution."

But NOOOOO, Alakazam's all like "We came to a consensus, we must get rid of you." Charizard taunts Sprinkles before their battle on Mt Freeze like "I don't know how to show mercy" and all three of them would have killed Sugar and Sprinkles if Ninetales intervene.

Gengar receives no punishment for starting an international manhunt. All the townsfolk except for Caterpie, Metapod, Diglett, Jumpluff, Pelipper and Kangaskhan basically say "Sorry for suspecting you, I was 100% sure you were guilty, I had no faith in you at all."

Fucking Shiftry over there is like "I joined the chase with a heavy heart but only stopped going after them once they ran into Doomed Desolation Mt Blaze (actual way Mt Blaze is described in game) because I'm a Grass Type and fire doesn't agree with me." BITCH, I RISKED MY LIFE TO SAVE YOU FROM ZAPDOS. Why would you go along with the "Let's Kill Sugar" plan???

The townsfolk go back to acting like everything is normal and the rest of the rescue teams gather in the Square when Team A.C.T goes missing and I'm supposed to be courteous to the people who subjected me and Sprinkles to months of horrors based on the words of one individual who's famously untrustworthy.

I know it's a video game, but holy shit. If I were actually Sugar, I would never trust any of these people again. I would have left Alakazam's ass to melt in the Magma Cavern.

can i ask why you didn't like the zed comic? i read all of it but didn't come out of it with any particularly strong feelings other than that it was cool to get more zed backstory!

There's two main things I hate about the Zed comic and then a lot of nitpicky things I dislike.

TL;DR: Buildup and charactersation for Zed is good! Kusho twist is bad, Yevnai is also bad.

Full ramble under the read more,

The twist ending with Kusho actually being alive the whole time is the worst decision they could have made for the story they were trying to tell, in my opinion.

They set up Zed as someone impulsive, he rushes in without thinking because to sit idly while considering course of action only enables more suffering. But in acting so rashly, he only causes greater misery. Zed's characterisation in the first five issues is really strong, it makes him compelling, while also serving to characterise Kayn as the child a man like that would raise.

Zed starts from nothing, is given a good life with a good father that he does not believe he deserves. His own fear and self loathing is what causes the change and friction in his story. That makes him compelling! It makes his conflict with Shen interesting! It makes his parallels with his own son carry weight!

But instead of doing what he does based on a motivation carefully constructed over the course of five comics, Zed does what he does in service to someone else. He loses so much of what makes him interesting by making him a playing piece for Kusho to fuck around with.

Zed didn't do all the things he did because of his martyr complex, because he feels he must carry the stain of sin so others don't have to, he did them because he was told to do them by Kusho.

Killing Kusho is not a cruel, violent murder of someone he loved and respected, it's now an act of redemption to make sure you KNOW Zed is good, no nuance allowed!

It's leaves such a sour aftertaste that I just can't read the comic again without considering how drastically the twist impacts every facet of who we think Zed is. To me, it's not for the better.

Also Yevnai (Yes, I had to look back at the comic to double check her name) is boring and only exists to add conflict for Shen and Zed. You know! Because the conflict they already had wasn't interesting enough! Let's also make it a love triangle! She is not a character, she's a prop, and I hate it!

Nitpick round go:

Making Kusho the secret final boss all along also undermines Jhin as an antagonist, who's reduced to another pawn in Kusho's game of 'let's mess with Zed until he breaks,' or whatever.

According to comments by the author on Reddit, Marvel apparently forced A LOT of content to be cut, including a lot of stuff that would have made Zed far less redeemable. (including him killing Akali's father and innocent vastaya) Now obviously we can't know for certain how this would have panned out, but it's such a shame we didn't get to see the original vision because of creative differences and corporate meddling.

I don't like the art style, this is completely subjective, but it's over rendered and it's kinda ugly sorry.

I cried watching Nimona

I don't usually cry during movies, at most my eyes water just a little but no more. And there I was last night hugging my pikachu plushie as tears streamed down my face over how much Nimona just begged to be seen and loved for who she is.

TW: Trauma, trauma, trauma. Social and family trauma.

Growing up an unknowingly neurodivergent trans kid in a messy family I really was made out to be a monster by others. I've been called one, I've been looked at as one, I've been treated like one. At home, in school, in public.

When as a child in school I struggled to make friends at all, I got jealous whenever I did make a friend because I was terrified of them leaving me, which they all eventually did. But I was the problem, I was the monster for being jealous, and no one ever tried to show me compassion for why I was jealous over friends in the first place.

When at home or in public I had explosive meltdowns from childhood to teenage years over a multitude of reasons, I was the problem, I was the monster, and no one ever tried to show me compassion for why I was having meltdowns in the first place.

When I grew up the unwanted child of a father I've never known, living in a house with a man who mistreated me because I was not his own, adopting his parents as my grandparents until as a teenager I was disowned. My existence was the problem, I was the monster, and no one ever tried to show me compassion.

I was the problem for having no friends. I was the problem for being different. I was the problem for being jealous. I was the problem for being anxious. I was the problem for being angry. I was the problem for existing, because my existence was just wrong.

I grew up the stereotypical quiet, shy, anxious, outcast nerdy artsy kid. My passions, my ideas, my thoughts and my quirks were too much for everyone and so I learned to stay quiet and stay distant, and if I spoke to keep it down and restrained. Like how Nimona would metaphorically die if she couldn't shapeshift, I have died from suppressing myself. And it's a hard road back to coming alive.

My whole life I just wanted to be seen. I just wanted to be loved. I just wanted to be understood. I just wanted to belong.

I'm now in a place in my life where I do have loved ones who show me compassion, love me for me and I don't have to fear abandonment, and everyone else actually treats me like a person rather than a burden or some horrible thing to not be spoken of. Yet everyday I am still impacted by the ostracization, the rejection I faced for most of my life. Every day I am still sad, I am still angry, and I still hurt. It's something I can't shake off, and likely will spend the rest of my whole life healing from.

All that to say watching Nimona was like having a mirror reflecting straight back at my life. My lifelong social and family struggles, my transness and neurodivergence, my sadness, my anger, my suffering.

And so the tears streamed down my face over the whole sequences of her attempting to bond with other animals and repeatedly failing, her bonding with Gloreth only for it to end in disaster and her made out to be the monster, and her walking towards the Gloreth statue to end her pain as everyone ran from her.

I will not be forgetting this movie anytime soon.
