Marlon is taller by a few inches, and he goads Gunther with it as much as he can without genuinely upsetting him.

Marlon is not, however, usually the big spoon.

Gunther was trained in sword fighting by Marlon before they began dating. A lot of silent pining and cheeky flirtatiousness was involved.

They affectionately call each other ‘archaeologist’ and ‘adventurer’ [“I’ll see you at 10, adventurer.” “Whatever you say, archaeologist.”]

Gunther makes a point of calling Marlon ridiculous nicknames, each one moreso than the last. He's joking only half the time.

Marlon sticks to one: 'hon'

Since Marlon's a secret nerd (I HC him as M. Jasper) and Gunther's a secret jock, they further perfect the ship dynamic.

Marlon and Gunther's first meeting was a lot of Marlon being intimidating.

Marlon HATED the former curator and thus made it a point to befriend Gunther, who would later on become the next curator.

Gunther can be an incredibly sarcastic bastard when he's worried or upset, while Marlon deflects with dry, sardonic humor.

Marlon sometimes makes Dad Jokes. They're not very good, but Gunther still laughs at them.

Marlon is not a fan of PDA and generally avoids it. His love languages are acts of service and gifts.

Gunther likes PDA, and his love languages are physical touch and acts of service.

Marlon sometimes makes coffee in the morning, but it's usually Gunther since he wakes early. Marlon likes to make dinner instead!

Gunther is ticklish as fuck. Marlon thinks its a cute, exploitable trait.

Gunther proposes. Marlon gets rings (to ward off flirts). Gunther gets the necklace. Marlon wears them the way you might wear a crucifix when a vampires chasing you.

The real question is who the fuck decides to give you shit like a giant futon bear and I think it's Marlon messing with you, convincing Gunther that c'mon, hon, the face they'll make when you hand them the fucking bear will be hilarious.

Marnie: Capybara (she loves animals and is generally friendly towards everyone)

Morris: Raccoon (this one is just based on vibes tbh)

Robin: Beaver (works with wood)

Demetrius: African grey parrot (very smart; kinda had Mark Beaks from Ducktales in mind)

Maru: Crow (also a very smart bird; likes shiny things and trinkets)

Sebastian: Rat (basement dweller)

Linus: Opossum (digs in the trash, misunderstood)

Marlon: Lion (brave adventurer/warrior stereotype)

Alex: Horse (jock stereotype/physical strength imagery)

Willy: Shark (hunts fish; also had this drawing in mind in particular)

Elliott: Fancy dog (this is also vibe-based)

Skull shirt farmer: Hyena (punk/rebel stereotype)

Red-eyed farmer: Jackal (villain lackey/secondary antagonist stereotype)
