So, I run a few RP blogs because it's fun and a good way to stretch my writing abilities when I'm not in complete control of all the characters involved. But earlier, a meme was going around about unpopular opinions and, well...I've got a few.

You cater your own internet experience. If you don't like something, don't interact with it. It is not on other people to cater to you. As someone with certain trauma, I've learned that I need to filter certain tags to protect my own peace of mind. If someone I follow reblogs or posts something relating to that trauma, I ask them to tag it but if they don't, I simply block the post or that user.

The above point, however, does not extend to things that are truly harmful like idk supporters of a certain orange bigot in a certain country. Shit like that is actually dangerous and we need to call that kind of shit out.

However, if someone ships something you don't like or they have a different interpretation of how a character represents themselves, that doesn't give you the right to go and harass that person. Not everyone on this website is an adult and I understand that. But gender and sexuality are spectrums and everyone experiences them differently. Be respectful. If someone has a different opinion and you can't get past it? Block them. Give yourself peace of mind in knowing that you don't have to see their opinion if it makes you uncomfortable or unhappy.

Having fun and exploring topics that you like or enjoy is more important than being entirely canon compliant. Fandom spaces are about having fun. You do not have to follow canon if you disagree with it or have a different take on something.

Harassing people just is not cool. Like, honestly. I just want to exist on my little corner of the internet and share some of the dumb ideas that tickle my fancy. I don't expect everyone to like my stuff but if it even makes a couple other people happy too, that's great! If you don't like something I post, that's ok. But don't bug me about it. I'm an adult, I work a full time job and I've got a life off of the internet. I'm here to have a good time, not cater to the masses. And tbh, neither should you. Be here to have something fun and enjoy yourself.

I think a lot about how in Ice Age 1 a huge theme is the slow but unstoppable advancement of the human species as they start to threaten previously unchallenged megafauna (hunting the pack of the antagonist sabertooth and killing Manny the mammoth’s family) and then in all the sequels they just fuckin disappear
