It turns out that life is NOT like kickball.

*Sometimes in kickball I was picked SECOND to last.

This is difficult to say my thoughts and happens frequently with me which is when I am with a group of people I feel as though I’m always last to know, last picked (true!) , not thought of a person that has high self esteem , or has a lack of comprehension (true to a point) AND this has bothered me to no end my entire life.

Not being picked at all.

My heart is being ripped, it’s being pounded, it’s being sliced.

They always go for my best friend, and my best friend always goes for them while I’m just stuck here trying to be supportive, I mean why would anyone like me when I’m so large and ugly and awkward and I shake when people talk to loud and doodle too much and I’m just too me and that’s never good enough for anyone

Remix

I think it’s time to introduce my sugar glider to the world! His name is Remix, and let me tell you, he is quite the character.

He’s always on the move, so snagging a decent photo of him is hard! The night I went to pick him up, I was instructed to show up at 8pm. I arrived slightly early (and in pain from having my wisdom teeth removed two days before), but I was the last one to show up out of all the people that had signed up to receive a glider. That meant that I was the last to pick.

Remix was the only boy glider left. No one had picked him because he was running all over the cage, jumping everywhere while the other gliders sat in the corner.

My mom asked me the other day if I was upset that I didn’t get to pick my glider, but I told her not at all. As you may have noticed with my other animals, I hate for any cutie to be left behind. I think we all know what it’s like to be picked last (or not at all), and I was more than happy to be the lucky one who got Remix.

When I got him home, he made a loud noise - which is used in the same manner when a cat hisses at you. It’s a warning to leave them alone. Hence the name Remix - he was VERY loud, and it took two months for me to earn his trust through treats and gentle pets (and sharing a TINY piece of my egg every morning).

Now, he loves me, and we go everywhere together. He loves to sit in my hand, run in his wheel (it’s kind of like a hamster wheel), and his favorite treats are dried strawberries.
