Last weekend we had the most wonderful day doing 1900 historical reenactment with these lovely ladies we had the pleasure to know! 🥰 We walked around royal gardens, watched the air balloons take off, played with the horses and chickens and had an amazing picnic in a beautiful estate! It was such a dream 😭 I look forward to more incredible events with Anacronicos ❤️

The soothing sounds of the burn were so soporific that Algy had fallen asleep again, despite the cold, drizzling rain that was gradually soaking through his fluffy feathers.

But he woke up with a start, because although the day had faded into darkness, a strange light was shining in his face. Glancing down, he was astonished to see an object at his feet that looked like nothing so much as a small pumpkin, which he could only assume had been washed up onto the bank by some turbulence in the rapidly flowing stream.

This was evidently a pumpkin like no other, however, for it emitted a pulsing orange light which not only helped to illuminate the gloom of the ancient woodland, but warmed his damp feathers.

Fascinated, Algy gazed at it in astonishment, and began to wonder whether perhaps he could take it with him on his quest, for it was just about the right size to serve as a lantern for a fluffy bird, and it would surely help to light his way as the winter darkness encroached ever further into the shrinking days…

Always we are following a light, Always the light recedes; with groping hands We stretch toward this glory, while the lands We journey through are hidden from our sight Dim and mysterious, folded deep in night, We care not, all our utmost need demands Is but the light, the light! So still it stands Surely our own if we exert our might. Fool! Never can'st thou grasp this fleeting gleam, Its glowing flame would die if it were caught, Its value is that it doth always seem But just a little farther on. Distraught, But lighted ever onward, we are brought Upon our way unknowing, in a dream.
