I’m gonna ask a bunch of narumistu shippers this but how do you think Iris would react seeing that happen? Also how would your dream Narumitsu wedding play out, and would pearl be invited? I just have so many questions! I also love your art!❤️❤️❤️
HELLO!!! First of all THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENT you make me blush 💝
Now onto the questions. Y’all know i love to talk and answer these types of questions.
1) Iris.
I love iris and I believe that she truly wants to see Phoenix happy, and Phoenix views her as someone important to his life.
Phoenix was willing to swallow glass for her (and dahlia) and it’s hard to find someone that devoted to you. But i think they both realized that their time has passed.
Iris still holds her late sister in high regards despite everything she’s done, and Phoenix has grown up since college and become a more honest person. They both know that it wouldn’t work. Their directions in life have changed and Iris needs to do whats good for her and take some time to heal, and Phoenix needs to do what’s best for him and distance himself from the necklace incident as much as possible. But you know that will be harder to do and they still visit eachother as friends. Perhaps locked in a “in another life, perhaps”
I think Iris would be happy for Phoenix, and possibly even find a friend in Miles considering they have similar feelings of guilt. Maybe they accidentally run into eachother at group therapy and share stories!!!
NOW. ONTO THE WEDDING.
I truly and deeply believe in my heart that their wedding goes TERRIBLY.
First off, the proposal happens and Phoenix wants to propose but he keeps losing the ring due to hijinx and murder. He fears that miles is gonna get to it first, or possibly not even want to marry in the first place, but what he DOESN’T KNOW is that Miles has been TRYING to propose for SO LONG but hijinx keep interrupting him and he loses his nerve.
When they finally propose, it goes as swimmingly as you expect. Literally. They propose at the same time just exasperatedly finally and they drop their rings into a lake, only for our national hero LARRY BUTZ to jump out of the bushes where he was filming and grab both of the rings in mid air as he falls into the lake splashing them all with water.
Onto the wedding. Maya, Pearls, Franziska and Trucy create the worst team of wedding planners known to man. They all have different things set in mind. Where Maya wants to wing it, Franziska plans to perfection. Where Trucy wants to put a gag, Pearl insists on pure romance. Things get heated and it falls apart when they all separate to plan different parts of the wedding and it looks AWFUL. It ends with the venue being set on fire. The dream team then panic and have a breakdown, only for them to say “We’ve been doing this wrong. What would they want?”
They set up a beautiful venue outside, big enough to fit all of their found family. Its either near the courthouse or the gate-water hotel something sentimental and it’s almost perfect 💝
Now the ceremony goes, oh you guessed it: TERRIBLY.
Miles has worked himself into a state of pure anxiety and Phoenix has disassociated. They both can’t believe that this is actually happening. Larry is Phoenix’s best man and Gumshoe is Miles’s.
oh yeah and Kay is was Mile’s bridesmaid and Maya was Phoenix’s because they had both a best man and a bridesmaid.
I’d imagine Larry and Gumshoe go through the same exact thing that Max and Pascal went through from that one Tangled short where Eugene and Rapunzel are getting married but i can’t describe that here without just explaining the whole short so just go watch it here and imagine Gumshoe and Larry.
Anyways, the reception goes on even after “the ring fiasco 2, electric boogaloo” and then the power goes out before the ceremony completes. Screams are heard and the lights come on, and the Vicar is lying dead on the ground.
IT’S TIME FOR AN INVESTIGATION where EVERYTHING GOES AWRY. But luckily they got the best Legal and Detective minds this side of Japanifornia! So Apollo Trucy and Athena immediately hop into action. Miles and Phoenix are discussing what they saw in handcuffs, Maya and Pearl are attempting to channel anyone they can but nothing is working(?) Franziska is attempting to keep everyone in order so she can investigate and question, Gumshoe has the police force looking into it, Klavier and Blackquill are taking statements in a church confessional, Ema is taking samples, and all around it is a DISASTER: BUT
They realize after this fact that they have NEVER solved a case this fast ever.
(Turns out the Vicar had mafia connections and ex members of the clergy were planning to turn the church into a gang front but the priest wouldn't let them but took them in as his children regardless and a rival gang was involved it was a whole thing thats a story for another ask though.)
Anyways the whole thing had them thinking about all working together more often than not, and not only was a marriage planned, but more unions were planned and they had gathered new recruits to help change the law system of their country.
and then Phoenix and Miles kissed and they lived happily ever after.
All in all a disaster but it wouldn’t have gone any other way (:

Is there is one thing you could change in Ace Attorney. What would it be?
Hmmm. Well you asked for one but I'm giving you two more mechanical things and one story thing, I'd do any of these really lol:
Just bump everyone's starting age up by like, I don't know, 3-4 years. Why are they all so young. It doesn't really add anything to anything imo -- the teen prodigies are no longer impressive because every character is a teen prodigy -- and in some cases it severely distracts from the story they're attempting to tell, like Regina in Big Top or the Dahlia/Fawles backstory. Trucy and Pearl being so young are the only ones where their age seems like... necessary to their characterization.
More breathing room between the events of 3-5 and Phoenix being disbarred. It only being a couple months after the triumphant finale of the trilogy just comes across kind of ... mean spirited? "Oh you THOUGHT that was a happy ending but GUESS WHAT everything went to shit two weeks later" lmao. Also it would give more time to explain why things are the way they are, the absence of characters, and so on. He could've had another year or so of success before it falls apart :P
I think Feenie should've been "dating" both Dahlia and Iris. I think this maintains the, like, theme~ better, and also stops the Iris reveal in 3-5 from feeling incongruous with what happens and what Dahlia says in 3-1. At minimum they didn't need to emphasize "you ONLY met Dahlia TWICE, EVER" lol like I'm supposed to believe she sat in a mountain for 8 months and never tried to get the necklace herself?? It'd be perfectly in character for Phoenix to be fine with Dollie being hot and cold, ignoring all Dahlia's red flags bc most of the time Iris is very sweet to him. I also find it more meaningful if he was actually betrayed in some way by that relationship, while the game by the end of 3-5 is like "no it was True Love and he was right to eat glass". Phoenix's faith in people is more interesting if it's ever actually been tested.

Chapter One, Part One [Early Draft]
Atticus had one hand calmly in his pocket while the other gripped a wand held against another man’s throat. “I’m not gonna ask again: do you know Shirley Miller?”
The man he was holding at wandpoint wetted his lips behind a large mustache, back pressed against the wall of his living room. He held his hands up, one holding a glass of liquor. His wife from the nearby kitchen clutched her necklace and looked between the two men. “Johnny, what is he talking about?”
“I don’t know, darling. I’ve never known anyone by that name in my entire life,” Johnny replied, running his hand through his black hair to smooth it out. He didn’t look Atticus in the eye. Instead he looked at the large burn scar that covered the left side of his face, and the empty socket where his other eye should have been.
“Oh really?” Atticus tilted his head. “Because Shirley knows you. She says you keep bothering her when she tries to go home. She even said you stole a necklace of hers after you beat her in an alleyway for not accepting your advances. Shame really. Told me it belonged to her grandmother.”
“Johnny would never!” The wife protested. “He comes straight home every day after work, he doesn’t go chasing around after flappers and broads. Do you, honey?”
Johnny shook his head vigorously. “Of course not. I love my wife, and only my wife.”
Atticus wasn’t really paying attention to the man anymore, instead turning his attention to the wife. “When did you get that necklace?”
“My-My necklace?” The woman looked down at the necklace hidden by her fist. “Just this Monday, Johnny brought it home as a gift for our anniversary. Why do you ask?”
“That’s funny. That’s the same day Shirley said her necklace was stolen. Tell me, is it a gold locket with a phoenix painted on it?”
The wife glanced between the necklace she was holding and Atticus a few times, her brow furrowing in confusion. “How did you know?”
“Well, that’s the description Shirley gave me. I’ll be taking it back to her now, thank you very much,” Atticus took his hand out of his pocket and held it out.
The wife hesitated before taking it off and slowly walking towards Atticus, putting the locket in his hand before quickly backing away.
Atticus felt Johnny squirm under his wand and pressed it closer to his neck. “Ah ah ah, I’m not done with you yet. Listen to me carefully. If you ever bother Shirley again, I’ll kill you.” He leaned closer to the man’s face until they were only inches apart. He could feel the other man’s breath on his face. “Understood?” He asked coldly.
“Yes,” Johnny finally whimpered out.
“Good,” Atticus stepped away, lowering his wand. “See, wasn’t that easy? Now I’d better be off, because I think you and your wife need to have a conversation, and I want no part of that.” He turned and walked towards the door.
From behind him he heard the wife cry out “Johnny no!”, and whirled around to see Johnny aiming his own wand at Atticus.
Before Johnny could fire a spell at him, Atticus pointed his wand at him and calmly said “Exarmare.” He felt his energy rush through his wand and out the tip in an invisible blast. Johnny’s wand was knocked out of his hand onto the floor. He looked from his empty hand to Atticus just in time to see him cast another spell. “Subdomo.” Another invisible blast of energy shot out, this time knocking Johnny against the wall. He slammed against it hard and slumped down, unconscious. His wife gasp and covered her mouth with her hands.
Atticus sighed and tucked his wand away. “He’ll be alright. You might want to take him to a hospital once he wakes up though.” With that he grabbed the glass of liquor Johnny had set down on a table and knocked it back. He set it back down and walked out of the apartment.
———————————————————————————
Atticus walked through the dimly-lit city streets of New York alone. At some point he glanced over his shoulder and ducked into an alleyway. He walked halfway then stopped at a flight of stairs and made his way down them, where he was met with a brick wall. He took out his wand and tapped the middle brick, which was brown instead of red like the rest.
The bricks parted, revealing a drab speakeasy. The Blind Tiger. Heads turned to look at Atticus as he walked inside before looking back to their own tables. He was a regular here, so no one ever minded him. The wall returned behind him, each brick returning to their original spot.
He scanned the room and stopped on a younger woman wish short, curly brown hair and a black eye. She was sitting at a table with a few other ladies, laughing about something Atticus couldn’t quite here. He made his way over to the table, winding around other people as he passed them. The Blind Tiger was surprisingly full tonight.
“Shirley!” Atticus called to the woman.
She perked up at her name, her eyes widening a little as she saw Atticus. “Did you do it?”
Atticus held up the necklace, setting it in front of Shirley. “Yes. Our little friend Johnny shouldn’t be bothering you anymore. But if he does, you know where to find me.”
Shirley beamed and leaped up, hugging Atticus. “Oh, thank you! Thank you so much!” Atticus stiffened and patted her on the back. Her friends- at least, Atticus assumed they were her friends- exchanged glances of relief and amusement.
“Anytime, ma’am. Now, about payment,” Atticus said.
Shirley pulled away from the hug, her smile faltering. “Oh, right…” She glanced away before she perked up again. “Wait, how about this? Why don’t you take my locket as payment? I’m a little tight on money right now, and the locket would probably get you more money then I could offer.”
Atticus glanced behind her at the locket and paused for a moment before grabbing it, stuffing it in his pocket. “Okay. Deal.”
Shirley smiled and sat back down in her chair. “Thank you again Mr…”
“Torrence. Atticus Torrence,” he said with a nod before turning around and making his way towards the bar. He sat down in one of the stools, setting his coat in his lap and rubbing his temples.

Random headcanon: Tactical Breach Wizards and Ace Attorney take place in the same universe
Perhaps Japanifornia is not in the DSR, and has a similar issue with magic that Kalan has, sometime in the past, which resulted in it being very poorly known overall. Or perhaps it takes place early on in its history, with date differences being based on a local calendar, somewhat like what IRL Japan and China have. But it does have its own history of magic, seen both in the Kurain School of spirit channeling and the various weird yet minor abilities a lot of characters seem to possess. Perhaps undeveloped and subconscious, due to the lack of knowledge Japanifornia has of magic, but they're there.
Phoenix Wright unlocked during the very first Dahlia Hawthorne case, when he swallowed the poison-laden glass necklace. His magic ended up being Self Reinforcement, which was what allowed him to essentially ignore swallowing a glass necklace that was previously filled with extremely deadly poison, in spite of clearly having been very sickly before then.
Since then, without knowing what he did, his magic activated subconsciously whenever he was in danger, thus giving him his apparent invulnerability. If he had known about it and trained it, he'd be able to become ACTUALLY invulnerable, and perhaps that is what's happening in the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 crossover, an AU where he'd actually managed to figure this out and fully train his power.

I spent the past 3 days working on making a zine based around AA4 and more specifically Kristoph. (I’ve never made a zine before so yeah it’s been interesting) I’ll go over it in more detail after the break.
Starting off with the first image I have a flower sticky note thing I made to look like the attorneys badge (didn’t use a reference for it’s not exactly correct), then I have some chains because psyche-locks and Klavier’s necklace. Then we have a card for poker and a bullet wound because bloody Ace. The flowers and mushrooms are supposed to kind of connect everything but also supposed to be like a Kristoph is everywhere and it’s like he has two sides (Flowers and Mushrooms). I also have moths and butterflies, both are pretty but it’s supposed to be like butterflies are the better one.
Next we have the attorneys badge but ripped up cause Phoenix gets disbarred. I added in Zak’s top hat and pin as well (on pink paper no less) it being on sticky notes is also supposed to be like a “plan to meet with this person this day” sort of reminder thing which I think fits with the poker meetings. Then there’s a butterfly like “this is the start of something bad”
Then I had this page dedicated to people affected by Kris’s actions (aside from Phoenix) so we have Klavier with his 7 years past self looking concerned about what he did with his rockstar persona pit onto of the pink paper. Trucy’s happy version is on blue because it’s supposed to be like when she was with Phoenix. I also added Mr. Hat cause I think the fact his face is based on Zak is cool. Then also because Trucy puts on an act of people happy for those around her I made it so you can flip the sticky note.
The next image is based around Phoenix during the disbarment. We have Trucy in the corner. I tried to give it sparkles and a white outline to be like “she’s the light of his life” then in the other corner I put the magatama and it’s cracking as well as the pearls because Phoenix distances himself from Maya and Pearls. Then we have Charley of course as well as “grape juice” I wanted it to splash a bit on the samurai and book in the bottom corner representing Edgeworth. On the sticky note I put a bloodstain thing where Phoenix’s Attorney badge would be. Then there’s a butterfly which is supposed to be like “things will get better”
Phoenix’s and Kristoph’s dinner dates. I have the bike for Phoenix then I have that little shark attack thing basically because Phoenix knows it’s dangerous to keep interacting with Kris. (Not a huge fan of the drawing of Kris here but we deal with it). Then we have the flowers and mushrooms as more control and things aren’t as pretty as they look. I also have a moth for that same reason.
Next we’ve got the lobster that Olga had, a card, the bottle Kris used, and Phoenix’s beanie. Not much symbolism here. I saw the lobster and I couldn’t pass it up.
Next we have Klavier and Apollo’s page. We’ve got Apollo’s bracelet, the perceive eye, and just a regular eye. For Klavier I have a motorcycle and his necklace again. I added the sunflower because it’s supposed to be for all the defense attorneys. Another card, and there’s a little cat toy thing which was just a fun little “oh Kris is toying around with both of them” and I also added Apollo and Klavier’s hair in the background as some extra stuff.
This is the last panel. We have Phoenix’s locket with Trucy inside, the blue bird Kris has in a cage in his solitary confinement cell, the stamp (which I’m actually pretty proud of how it looks), Kris’s glasses, the nail polish (I’ve always questioned why it looks like that), then a fox which is supposed to represent Kris with being sly and a predator. Then there’s a gear above it to be like “running the whole thing” and I put a rabbit to represent Apollo (because “bunny ear hair”) and it just worked out will with Rabbits being a prey item.
I put a lot of time and thought into this and I’m very proud of how it came out. I’ve never made a zine before so this was interesting though very fun. I’m pretty bad at using scissors though. I might make more in the future. But yeah sorry this is so long. I do have a bunch of other projects going on as well.

The Doctors Valentine
This was an ask from another artist on here named @kazenomegaminowanpisu ! Please enjoy!
Marco (The Phoenix) x wife!reader
Warnings: slightly suggestive at the end, but no smutt
☁️fluff☁️
To be the wife of the famous phoenix of the Whitebeard Pirates was no easy task, but it was nights like these that made it so worth it. Marco had set up a nice picnic dinner on the island that you where docked on (you'll have to thank Thatch later), with blue flamed candles, and a beautiful view of the ocean. " Wow Marco this is beautiful, we only got here yesterday, how did you find this place?" You asked, Marco poured some wine in one of the glasses he was holding and smirked. "Well, we docked here a few weeks back and I found this spot while patrolling the area yoi. It immediately made me think of you, so I made sure to keep it in mind for my surprise yoi." "Aww Marco!" You pecked him on the lips, "Your so sweet, I feel bad that I dont have anything for you though..." you frowned. The phoenix softly reached over and cups your cheek, "You dont need to yoi, you've already given me the best gift I could ever have." "Huh?" "(Y/N), your my wife yoi. And your the best gift a pirate doctor could ever have." he smiles as you felt your face heat up. "But, I do have another present for you yoi." Marco reached into the basket and pulls out a thin, long rectangular box wrapped in ribbon, and hands it to you. "For you, my sweet nurse." You gently grab the box and untie the ribbon and open the box. "*Gasp!* Marco, this is beautiful! Where did you get this?" In the box was a simple gold chained necklace, and at the center was a silver feather charm with a sapphire in the middle. "Its the other reason we docked back on this island, I found a jeweler and made the order while getting supplies with Ace yoi. I went and got it yesterday, you want to put it on?" Marco asks, you nod and turn around so he could connect the clasps. You turn back around to look at him, "How does it look?" you ask. "It looks gorgeous on you yoi." Marco leans over and captures your lips in another sweet kiss, then another, and another before you pulled back. "I wonder..." "Wonder what yoi?" "If Whitebeard is ready for some grandkids, do you think so?" Marco's cheeks flared red, "(Y/N) yoi!"

Literally your tags where you talked about ppl not understanding aa characters was SO TRUE...esp about maya and ESPECIALLY about phoenix 😵💫😵💫 whenever people just portray him as The Nice One to contrast edgeworth it is so lame bc he genuinely has such a great full personality
THANK U FRANKIE....!!!! i had to retype this cause i accidentally deleted it so i hope this makes sense.
maya is soooo misunderstood like.. this is not to say that she is Only tragic. she and phoenix goofing off is the best part of the games i think, like i havent stopped thinking about her calling him a toilet freak in the stolen turnabout it made me laugh really hard. but also i think people forget that she is shown to be actively repressing her grief so many times; she was traumatized by the events in the 2nd game and refused to go back to kurain village or train for months, and mia said that she was concerned about maya. she feels the need to be strong for the people around her to her own detriment. like the only people she's close to who are still alive are pearl and phoenix. she wanted to know about her mother and meet her and know what happened to her for so long and then her mother was murdered in front of her (before she even learned she was her mother and before they could really talk). like at the end of the last trial of aa3 she says that she doesn't want to be the master and doesn't want anything to do with the fey clan anymore but after the trial she continues training and presumably took the role because she knows she's the last person pearl has left. i've talked about her so much and this post got really long but ahh (explosion sfx) i want people to talk about her in ways that aren't related to making her a plot device for other characters to get together
i think sometimes people try to fit phoenix and edgeworth into like. you know that trope of the "mean one" and the "sunshine one" when they really do not fit.
phoenix is really easy to project on to and i don't have a problem with that, but he also very much has a personality of his own and i think that gets erased sometimes. he is a genuinely nice guy* (asterisk because i'll get back to this not because i don't think he's a nice guy) but he also like.. he has a very strong personality and feels things super intensely and is really devoted to the people he cares about even at the cost of his own health. i think he and maya are really similar
like when he was with dahlia in college that was 99% of his personality and he ate a metal and glass necklace that also had poison in it to stop her getting convicted of murder (also i do think the whole dahlia thing had a big impact on his ability to trust people/how he doesn't give up on people). he ran across a burning bridge for maya even after he kept saying how scared he was of it even before it caught on fire. in the second game his mood instantly sours every time edgeworth is brought up because of how much grief and anger he's feeling, and this is one of the first things he says to edgeworth after learning he was alive the whole time. from his perspective, he has no idea why edgeworth faked his own death especially after turnabout goodbyes, and he thought someone who was a huge factor in the trajectory of his life died. so he's really upset, and that's understandable
edgeworth and phoenix are i think so much more similar than they are different. like edgeworth in that scene is the one to give the 'friendship will help' speech when peolpe might expect phoenix to. i think phoenix operates more on instinct while edgeworth needs to operate with some outside logic and evidence. they both want to do good and help people; phoenix is open about it, and edgeworth operates on like 5 layers of repression and von karma/dl-6. (like for example i think edgeworth didn't let phoenix come to the cavern in bridge to turnabout because he didn't want phoenix to have to see if maya had died there.) i think people want edgeworth to be the always cool always knows exactly what to do archetype but every time he's in a situation where he doesn't know exactly what to do he just loses all his cool points. like in all the end of the game "let's go eat a meal!" parts he is just kind of going "umm... ok" whenever someone makes a joke at him. like he's like someone scruffed a cat he loses all his cool factor when he doesn't have a solid framework of experience and knowing The Rules to prop himself up with
*: you just have to look at phoenix's interactions with pearl to see that yeah he's just a genuinely good guy. but also, and i think that sometimes this gets erased in fan stuff.. he is kind of catty and it's great. his inner monologue is full of snide remarks like this and he really likes to mess with people (especially apollo, especially messing with apollo with trucy)
#asks#aa#long post#<- sorry it's really long i was thinking about this in the shoewr#i havent finished apollo justice so this is all about the first trilogy i am sorry if anything i say is out of date later

Cases in every ace attorney game up to Apollo justice (bc I havent played the others) where Phoenix Wright is injured in some way as far as I can recall:
Turnabout Sisters: punched in the face by a CEO wearing multiple rings. He’s fine after this (I mean it makes sense, it’s just a punch)
Turnabout Goodbyes: Tazed with an 80,000 volt taser so hard he gets knocked unconscious. He’s fine after this.
The Lost Turnabout: gets hit over the head with a fire extinguisher so hard he gets amnesia. He regains his memory immediately at the end of the trial and he’s fine.
Reunion, and Turnabout, Turnabout Big Top, and Farewell my Turnabout: lumping these all together because, suffice to say: he gets whipped and got whipped so hard he fell unconscious once. He’s fine after this.
Turnabout memories: swallows a glass necklace with poison in it. He’s fine after this.
The Stolen Turnabout and Recipe for Turnabout: he gets hot coffee thrown at him. You guessed it, he’s fine after this.
Bridge to the Turnabout: falls off a burning bridge into a raging river during the height winter. He does go to the hospital after this but he only has a cold. And then later in the trial he gets hot coffee thrown at him.
Turnabout Corner: gets hit by a car and sent flying into a pole. He goes to the hospital but only has a twisted ankle.
So yeah, suffice it to say, he would not fucking recover that quickly.
"he would not fucking say that" but about injuries. he would not fucking recover that quickly. those scars would not fucking heal like that. he would not be fucking able bodied after that. he would not be fully lucid after that.

Sicktember Alt 1: Hospital Bed
Fandom: Ace Attorney Characters: Phoenix Wright, Larry Butz
Notes: This was part of an older project from last year that was in WIP hell until I finally dusted it off for Sicktember. I ended up writing more of it after designating it as a Sicktember entry than when it was a WIP for months, which I think makes it more suitable for an entry than if I had already finished it back when I first started ahahaha. This takes place just after the trial in Turnabout Memories, where Phoenix not only ate a glass necklace but said necklace also carried poison inside, not to mention this was on top of him already having a bad cold. He’s been dragged escorted to the hospital and he has his best friend there for him in his time of need. Maybe besides a friend, there are some things he needs to hear as well.
---
“I can’t believe you ate glass.”
Larry’s words and shaky chuckle of disbelief were the first thing Phoenix could both hear and fully understand after waking up in a hospital bed.
“I can’t believe a lot of things,” Phoenix responded in a monotone unfamiliar to both his best friend and Phoenix himself. “I don’t know how I can believe anything anymore.”
“You know, I’d joke about you sounding like an edgy teenager after your first breakup, but… This was your first breakup, huh?” Larry leaned back against the wall across from Phoenix’s bed.
“Yeah, I guess it was…”
To call it a “breakup” didn’t feel quite right to Phoenix. There was no conversation about breaking it off; it just ended with her being escorted from the courtroom by the police without a hint of acknowledgment of the time together Phoenix had treasured so greatly.
“Honestly, even if it wasn’t, shit hit the fan so badly, I still wouldn’t make fun of you for that. I mean, what was up with her? Sure, you two acted kind of insufferable whenever I saw you together, but murdering her ex and trying to poison you? Over a necklace? A necklace that also could’ve had poison in it?” Larry sighed heavily, at a loss for any further words.
“It couldn't have been Dollie.” Phoenix’s voice cracked through the theory he might as well had pulled from thin air. “The Dollie I know and the Dollie who testified today… just can't be the same person.”
“I don’t know, man. That sure would be nice, I guess,” Larry pondered, “but people can change in ways you would never see coming.” He sighed. “Believe me, I’ve had girlfriends who changed at speeds and in ways that I still can’t understand. Thankfully, they’re kind of an outlier, but still… Dahlia having something like an evil twin? That’s just not something that happens outside of daytime television.”
“But why did she do that?”
“Do what? Not have an evil twin?”
“No. Why did she change?” Phoenix held a flimsy hospital-issued pillow close to his chest. “She could have just been as sweet as she always was and told me the truth. She could have said the necklace had poison in it and that’s why she needed it and… and… I would have given it back.”
“Would you?” Larry raised a brow.
“Of course I would have! She just had to say the word and I’d–”
Getting worked up so quickly just led to a coughing fit that seemed to go out of its way to irritate Phoenix’s already sore throat. It already hurt from the cold, but chewing up glass and swallowing it definitely didn’t do his throat any favors.
Larry couldn’t help but wince as he heard Phoenix finish the fit with a pained whimper.
“You done?”
“Yeah…”
“So, what would you really have done if she told you the necklace was poison and she needed it back for that reason?”
“I told you,” Phoenix spoke calmly this time, “I would have given it back and helped her hide it. She didn’t have to change so drastically like she did.”
“I don’t know if it’s your fever or the meds they gave you but you are completely out of your mind, Nick,” Larry said bluntly. “Can I tell you what I think?”
“No, thank you.”
Phoenix tried to pull his blanket over his head, but it could only reach above his shoulders. Nurses sure went above and beyond, huh?
“Well, I’m gonna tell you anyway.” Larry sought out a spot on the bed to sit on that didn’t take up too much space meant for Phoenix as part of his recuperation. “I don’t think she changed.”
Phoenix sat up and pressed his lips to Larry’s forehead.
“No fever…” Phoenix managed to say before flopping himself back into lying down on his back.
“I’m serious, Nick. I don’t think she changed, at least not when you might think she did.”
“What about what you said, though? Girls you went out with who changed fast and drastically?”
“And I said they were outliers,” Larry added.
“Then why would Dollie not be an outlier? She was one of a kind, after all…”
“Because you got me thinking.” Larry frowned upon seeing Phoenix roll his eyes at what he just said. “Hear me out, okay? You got me thinking about my dad.”
“Dollie isn’t anything like your dad!”
There Phoenix went again, working himself up again into another painful coughing fit.
“Be patient, Nick, before you hurt yourself!” Larry waited for Phoenix to settle down before he continued. “I don’t mean she was exactly like my dad, just how she acted with you until today. My mom told me how hard my dad tried to win her over; he got her gifts, told her everything she wanted to hear, made her feel like there were all sorts of great things ahead for the two of them.”
“That doesn’t sound like your dad at all.” Phoenix frowned, clearly still skeptical of Larry’s theory.
“Because it wasn’t my dad. It was who he changed himself to be until he got what he wanted.” Larry stared out the open window. “My parents got married because my mom was pregnant with me, and once those rings were on their fingers, dad’s job was done. He didn’t need to be that changed version of himself, just like Dahlia didn’t need to be her own changed version of herself today.”
“You mean…”
“Yup. What you saw today; I think that was who she always really was.”
“I think I’d like to get some sleep.” Phoenix already had his eyes closed with this declaration. “Maybe it’ll all make more sense when I’m feeling better.”
Both he and Larry knew that probably wouldn’t be the case. After all, the medication provided by the hospital was pretty strong, and it would be a miracle if he remembered even a moment of this conversation.
Larry wasn’t about to disappoint his best friend by stating this fact aloud, though. He instead opted to leave the door of that possibility open, even if it only led to a dead end.
“Alright. We can discuss this further then, okay?”
Of course, they never did, as all memories of Phoenix’s hospital stay seemed to fade away as soon as he started to snore.

Dumping my reference doc for Siobhan's voice here for gift exchange things because google docs is being awful as usual, don't mind me :)
What is a formative childhood memory of yours?
I was a slight thing still, when that big green house at the end of the pier burned down. Couldn't've been more'n seven years old. I wondered what was in there, sometimes - it had these yellow curtains, and a little whorl on the door - well. It doesn't matter. It all burned the same, all turned to ash and black, and there wasn't even one worthwhile thing in all that wreck when I picked over it by night. But I did find out what was in there after all. An elf girl, tall, with wavery eyes that always looked on the verge of tears. She ran up to me and the other kids on the street, crying, telling us how her parents died in the fire. We told her to quit sniveling. All of us were orphans, and none of us were bawling about it. She'd have to work now, like us. Earn her keep the same way we did. So she learned, slowly, whinging the whole way. Learned to pick pockets and sweet-talk and the whole kit. But then the weather turned cold, and I got unlucky a few days. Almost got caught with my hand in someone's pocket, you know how it goes. And I was real hungry, and getting a little scared. And she - Sorien was her name - Sorien found me, hiding out in the little nest I made myself where three roofs met. And brought me a hunk of bread. And when I asked her if she'd went mad, giving me her food that she earned, she just said, 'My ma & pa taught me to share, and all of you are the closest thing I have to a family now. To a home.' I called her stupid then, and took the bread, and told her off. And she left, but her words didn't. They stuck right in my chest, and I think they've been there ever since.
Do you have any special keepsakes?
“Keepsakes?” Siobhan scoffs, a sharp exhale through her nose. “Not a one. It’s just one more thing the guards shake you down for, one more thing to keep track of. One more thing to – lose.” She shifts, restless, and her grey eyes dart away, suddenly studying the ground. “Kith throw their shinies in the sea, give ‘em to Ondra. Me? I fence ‘em. Not much difference, I think. They’re gone all the same.” Her voice is glass, brittle and sharp. She swallows. “It’s coin that keeps your belly full, not baubles.”
She doesn’t mention her stashes. Doesn’t say a thing about all the maps in her head, so many cities, each one sprinkled with hidey-holes only she can find. Even when she moves on, new streets, new faces, she never forgets. Just in case.
Once, when Edér goes digging in the larder at Caed Nua looking for sweets, he climbs on a crate to reach a dust-covered jar, and pries open the lid to find a handful of coins and a necklace studded with moonstones. He panics a bit, and screws the lid back on, and flees. But the next day, when curiosity sends him creeping back down to the larder, the jar is empty.
Before you came to the Dyrwood, who was your closest friend or ally?
A smile lights up Siobhan’s face, for once not lopsided with mischief. “Ereth,” she says on an exhale, and there’s a whole world between those two syllables. “Best fence I ever worked with. Dunno where he took all those trinkets, and don’t care to, but he always had my money. Good hand at cards, too. Good drinking buddy. Good… good friend.” Her voice softens on the word. “He fenced the Feather for me – the Phoenix Feather, that amulet I managed to lift from Lady Eina. The gréf’s own wife! Can you imagine?” She wiggles her fingers, boasting, eyes shining underneath brows raised in disbelief. “Oh but she was angry! And how was I to know she was the one paying off the Guild? That she was the one noble we were meant to leave well enough alone?” Her smile falters, and she balls her hands into fists, shoving them into her pockets. “Anyway. Ereth got rid of the Feather for me, but… not fast enough. The Guild found out it was me that done the job. Kicked me out. No skin off my back, but him… Well. I just… I hope he made it out okay.” Her voice is quiet now, and her eyes grow distant, a cold grey sea.

two octobers ago i almost died in a car wreck, going 90 on the I-5. my best friend at the time was driving. i can’t talk to her anymore.
we crashed right before the sun set. we crawled out of the car into the dust and broken glass like phoenixes being rebirthed again. i looked at her and smiled.
we both still have the scars. i gave her my jacket. cleaned up her bleeding hand. i lost part of a few of my fingerprints.
as the sun set, we tried to walk. like we ever had anywhere to go. we kept laughing, and answering their questions.
the tow truck took us to burger king. they let us stay well past when they should’ve left. you came for us, like you were our savior. we should’ve just gone home, i think.
i had work the next day, after all.
these days i find myself thinking about how it felt when we were spinning in the air before landing upside down. it felt like we were flying. it was like i knew what was coming, but i wasn’t scared of dying there.
i looked in the rearview and saw the skeleton we kept back there. our travel companion. he looked like the reaper and i smiled. i was not scared of dying in that moment, i was only scared of what would happen if i lived.
i didn’t feel the pain when we landed earthside again. i just unbuckled my seatbelt and broke the window with my elbow. i crawled out of the mess and the dust, it seemed like smoke while i was in it. she followed me. we stood on the side of the road and i silently asked every god why i had been allowed to live.
we broke through some farmers fence when we reentered the atmosphere. he sued her for it a month later. it was almost funny.
i felt sort of invincible after that. untouchable, almost.
these three men with hauntingly blue eyes driving a white truck pulled over to help us. they told us to sit down, to stop laughing. that we had lived and it would all be okay. they asked if there was anyone we could call.
i only remembered my moms old landline number. i called it even though that line has been disconnected since well before i knew about driving fast. no one answered, and i laughed again. the men stayed, almost like they were keeping watch, until first responders showed up.
i kept trying to joke with the paramedics while they were examining us. we should’ve gone to the hospital, i think.
but she kept saying we had somewhere to go. so we went to burger king instead.
i kept playing with my rings. fidgeting with my necklace until i realized my fingertips had been grazed off. i still don’t know how that happened. i’m not so sure i ever will.
the drive into the mountains was terrifying. he drove too fast, too reckless. more like he was running from something than trying to run to it.
i offered her some of my medication to help fall asleep. we couldn’t stop shaking, her in the back and me in the passenger seat.
when we got where we were going, the boys wanted to party. i fell asleep in the big bed, and they stayed up all night. the next day everyone played in the hot tub. i kept my shirt on.
he asked about the scar when he saw me bare for the first time. if it were from you. i laughed and pointed to one that was. he didn’t think it was as funny as i did.
i told him the story of how i lived and died. why That was why i let things go on as long as i did. he pressed his lips to the snakeskin pattern on my third rib and for the first time it didn’t feel like a threat.
i’ve never been one to accept kindness easily. never really been the type for those sweet, soft things everyone else writes about. i’m more at home in the broken glass and curling dust.

Chapter 1 Jane berry
The best day ever
Jane had always had a good life. Her mom Janet Barry and father Joseph Berry were a couple. Many would be jealous of a caring and beautiful smart mom who ran her own thriving beauty company and her father who was a laid-back but outstanding comedian. Today started out like any normal day but it was her first day at a new school in california in Firestone road going to a school called phoenix high Jane was immensely excited she couldn't wait to make new friends and have a bunch of different experiences she couldn't wait she heard the alarm from her phone next to her red bed go off she pulled off her strawberry themed huge blanket and a few of her pillows which were a variety of red and green and even one that was a cherry shape and made sure her cherry cartoon shaped stuff animal didn't fall off the bed she got up and immediately sprinted to her dresser her room was small it was covered in strawberry wallpaper red and green it had a nice red closet that was open and a nice small red and green dresser covered in pictures of her mom, and her old friends before she moved and also some souvenirs here or there she wasn't sure why they had to move so suddenly but she trusted her parents so she didn't ask shaking her head she quickly put on her causal red and green sweater and brushed her hair before finally placing her red cherry hair clip that her family all had it was like a symbol after finishing up the final touches she smiled to herself admiring her red eyes that almost seemed like fire she looked at the cool heart design on her sleeves and the middle of her hoodie which seemed a darker shade of red she also seemed to have some white little hearts patched over her longs sleeves that shaped up over her hands shaped like an oval. She rushed downstairs of her house her mom and dad usually slept upstairs as well she grabbed the brown railing going down the grayish fluffy stairs she entered the living room first which was pretty normal it was a small living room with a blueish couch and a fluffy red carpet and a regular white wall her mom and dad were thinking of getting red and green everything and she was excited about the idea she saw a couple of black bookshelves for movies and a small platform for a fairly decent sized black tv laying there turned off there were a few empty boxes it seemed so long ago ‘I. can't believe it's it took us a month to move and half a week to just get everything ready!'
Jane thought to herself as she entered the door that was in the middle of the living room a white door open there a regular white kitchen but with a few differences the counters were red and some of the cabinets where as well there was also a door on the left leading to the dining room she glanced at the white fridge seeing her baby photos before she spotted a piece of bread left on the red counter suddenly she noticed voices coming in and she turned and saw her mom she was definitely more beautiful than her she was helping her dad fix her tie Her mom looked a lot like herself she had the same hair expect her hair went over the other eye and her mom had red heart glasses she had a green fluffy necklace with and a red stone and a red shirt with a read heart and green ruffle sleeves and a red and green flowing dress and red and pink heals she even had white highlights the same as her and she had a cherry clip in her head as well she tutted a bit as her dad chuckled at her trying to fix his loose red tie unlike her mom her dad had his hair shorter but it still went over his right eye he had a red shirt and green baggy pants like hers and red sleeves with green cuffs and red boots with pink fluff like Jane's he did not have glasses and had red eyes like her and her mother he had red hair and white tips and a cherry hair clip he saw her and with a carefree deep voice stated "ah Jane ! Are you ready for your first day?"Jane immediately jumped up and down excited by the fact of making new friends ``yup I can't wait, I gotta go!" Her mom spoke out "have fun dear!" Jane nodded and already headed out " bye mom, bye dad love you!"Jane smiled to herself as she headed to school 'this is going to be the best day ever 'she thought as she stepped out of the door slamming it closed behind her.

The Trix - Dark Witch Forms (Version 2)
And we have finally gotten to my redos of The Dark Witch forms. It's mainly just me giving Icy and Darcy better backgrounds and giving Stormy and Darcy more details in their backstories and different hairstyles.
Icy
I was really excited to work on Icy's because of how I planned on giving her loose hair and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Her loose hair isn't the only change I made to her look, I added an ice necklace, a fur cape, and an ice crown with a diamond on it. Why? Because of how I wanted to make her look like a queen.
Also, there are some slight changes I made from Icy's backstory, so you might want to read this.
I'm keeping her backstory that she gets in season 8 where she was a princess of a planet called Dyamond and it was destroyed by a witch, who also turned her younger sister Sapphire into a fox. However, what I would change is that I would have the witch really be Mandragora in disguised who was sent by the Ancestral Witches with the intention of sending either Icy or Sapphire (Who are descended from the head witch, Belladonna) down a dark path in order to form a new generation of the coven, steal three great powers (The Great Dragon, The Shadow Phoenix, and The Leviathan), take over the magical universe, and free them from Obsidian. However, instead of Sapphire (Who was 10 at the time) being turned into a fox, I had her turned into a statue made out of a sapphire gem. The rest of Dyamond wasn't so lucky and died, while Icy, at the mere age of 13, was the sole survivor. Also, instead of the planet being turned into a snowy wasteland (Icy's powers are snow and ice so why wouldn't the world already be a world of snow and ice), it is instead turned into a heated desert of sand and no life. Icy then decided to seek out vengeance against the witch who did this by becoming the most powerful witch in the universe. She planned to free Sapphire from her frozen state when she became powerful enough. However, as she continued on her path, she became more power hungry and bitter about how she was always good and kind but she still ended up suffering the fate of the life she knew being taken from her. She wanted to take over the universe as a queen to make up for the crown that was rightfully hers being taken from her. In my version of the last season, where The Trix team up with their Ancesters, she finds out about this being their plan and destroys them with the Winx Club. Redemption arc? Maybe....
I love how the backstory is similar to Bloom's because it adds something to their dynamic and shows how two people can react very differently to the same tragedy.
Darcy
I gave Darcy the hairstyle of Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist. It really fits because of how both are seductive manipulators and my fan-cast to voice Darcy is Laura Bailey, who voices Lust. And a crown to top it all off.
As for her backstory, I've updated it. She comes from Whisperia (Yes, I got that name from the 4Kids dub) where everyone has the power of illusions. However, every individual is born with a second magical ability that goes with their illusions. Mirta, for instance has the power of illusions and dreams. Darcy was both with the power of illusions and darkness. This was considered a curse to her family, who were very high class and respected witches. They tried to force her to hide her second ability and had her home schooled. She was abused verbally by her family for bringing disgrace to their family name by being born with her second gift being of darkness. All her life, she had been isolated and her only comfort was reading romance novels (Which explains her seductive nature) and longed for a life with someone who would love her and take her away from this torturous existence of hers. She would hate being forced to always be all dolled up in frilly clothes, not to mention forced to deal with bright sunshine, which hurt her eyes (It's why she wears glasses, to protect her eyes from the bright light when she's not in her witch form), due to her powers being tied to darkness.
When she turned 13, she put on some regular clothes and snuck out (Using a clone of herself to stay at her mansion) to meet kids her own age. She started playing with some other kids and it was great until, of course, some bully picked on her, and took away her glasses. She tried to cover her eyes to protect them while also trying to steal back her glasses. She eventually got so frustrated, she let her magic unleash and temporarily blinded everyone. She grabbed her glasses, her new friends were scared of her, and she ran back home. Her parents had noticed she was gone (As her clone didn't last very long, due to her undeveloped skill) and already knew about the incident. They were furious with her and even used their magic to physically punish her. She had finally had enough and her powers exploded. She accidentally killed her parents. However, she had only known suffering and contempt from her parents, so while she didn't mean to kill them, she didn't feel and sadness for their deaths.
She knew she couldn't stay there anymore. Before the staff could do anything, she used her magic to temporarily blind them so she could get away. She didn't have much time because, due to her not being allowed to use her magic, she had no idea how long the temporary blindness would last. As she ran, she could hear the voice of an old woman (Liliss) telling her to take the family crystals (The Whisperian Crystals) with her. She leaves and soon meets Icy and Stormy, who are all lost souls with no place to call home and emotional issues. With the Whisperian Crystals, they learn that they are blood descendants of The Ancestral Witches, the first witches to ever live. Darcy now knows why she was born with dark magic and that it seems she was destined to be evil like everyone believed. She then decided that if that's all she was gonna be, she would embrace it and make everyone crawl at her feet. She, Icy, and Stormy then became friends and considered each other sisters.
Stormy
I got some help with this from my girlfriend, @keeloves. Stormy was an orphan from Vallisto (Known as Callisto outside of the 4Kids dub) that was often overlooked and overshadowed by others because of how she was the only witch in the orphanage. Due to a stigma against witches, no one ever wanted to adopt her and would always choose a fairy child over her. This caused her to develop a horrible temper and an extreme hatred for fairies. She would play pranks to try to cover up her own insecurities but deep down was lonely and longed for friends and a family. She would often get punished for her outbursts of anger and her pranks on the fairies at the orphanage, particularly by being locked up in a really small room. She would get anxious and became claustrophobic. As her powers developed, they were often unstable due to her being very powerful and unable to control them a lot of the time, along with her temper making things worse. When she was thirteen she was punished for another prank but this time was locked in a closet, which caused her to absolutely freak out, due to her claustrophobia. She was having an anxiety attack and kept on shouting, pleading, and begging to be let out only to no avail. She finally snapped and unleashed a massive tornado with her signature pink lightning, which ended up destroying the orphanage, though everyone survived. She felt bad about it and tried to beg for forgiveness but was proclaimed as evil by everyone. She was kicked out of the orphanage and the authorities arrived to take her away. They told her she was going to be locked up where she wouldn't be able to use her magic again. She had a PTSD moment with how she was locked up in rooms before and refused to let them take her. She attacked and summoned her Psycho Clone to give her time to escape. She eventually met Icy and Darcy, whom didn't fear her and could relate to her. The three became friends, discovered that they were descended from the Ancestral Witches, and considered each other sisters.

So for anyone curious about my PLvsPW fic, “I Beg Your Pardon?”
Link to Chapter 1
Timeline-wise, it takes place in May 2019, post T&T and AAI-1, and Post-Azran Legacy but Pre-Curious Village. Yeah, I know that Phoenix gets disbarred in April 2019, but canon divergence exists for a reason! It’s also because I want this fic to set up a sequel where the Professor helps Phoenix figure out who framed him for forged evidence (and set up Laywright stuff too). Also, side note, the bonus DLC stuff from PLvsPw is not canon in the fic :P
I don’t have a concise schedule because of IRL stuff and depression, so it’s kinda vague when the next chapter will be (but some of it is already written).
I have some ideas as to what certain chapters will be about (in no particular order) (spoilers for Ace Attorney Trilogy, yo):
The number of times Phoenix and Maya have been arrested (next chapter)
Phoenix’s death-defying 40 foot fall from a burning bridge into a river
Phoenix’s rivals (and they’re violent court etiquette)
Maya’s spirit channeling
The Magatama
Defending both the Steel Samurai and Nickel Samurai
Eating a glass necklace with traces of poison in it
Getting jumped on by a lion and a monkey (Turnabout Big Top)
Phoenix being an art major
Mia’s murder
Dahlia Hawthorne (most definitely towards the end and hinted throughout)
Bridge to Turnabout (again, probably towards the end since this would be pretty fresh for both Maya and Nick)
Furio Tigre impersonating Nick
Getting amnesia after getting hit in the head by a fire extinguisher
If anyone else has any ideas/suggestions they’d want to see in the fic, I’d love to hear them. Either in the tags or in anon asks :P

THE RESULTS ARE IN!!
THE CORRECT ANSWER IS.......................... (Major spoilers ahead)
OPTION 3! Something similar did happen, but with a few key differences.
Number 1: They were sisters, not brothers.
Number 2: They weren't twins! A lot of people in the tags seemed to think that they were, but nope! They were born a year apart
Number 3: The younger sister's death was a complete accident
Now, for all of the other options!
In the third case of Ace Attorney 1, Phoenix Wright exposes the possibility that the murder was committed by the security lady, Wendy Oldbag. When he does so, he thinks to himself, "Oh yeah! Sherlock Holmes II, baby!"
In the final case of Justice For all, Phoenix gets a phone call from a man who is using his assistant's life as blackmail against Phoenix. At the end of the call, Phoenix asks who he is and he says, "de killer." and hangs up.
In Trials and Tribulations, Mia Fey alleges that Phoenix's then-girlfriend, Dahlia Hawthorne, poisoned a man in a courthouse and then gave the poison to Phoenix in a bottle necklace disguised as a gift. In order to prevent this from ever being proven, Phoenix steals the necklace and eats it. It is made of glass.
In the third case of Apollo Justice, the prosecutions stance is as follows: A 14 year old blind boy shot a man three times his size with a 45 caliber revolver, which they also say multiple times would dislocate the shoulder of anyone who fired it inexperienced. They then allege that he climbed into a vent on the ceiling, hid there for an hour, then came back down, carried the enormous body to a stage lift, lifted him and the body up with it, and promptly passed out without anyone noticing. While blind. And also 14. He also looks 10. At no point are any of the logical impossibilities challenged by the defense.
In the final case of Dual Destinies, they discuss a gruesome scene where the then 11-year-old Athena Cykes had placed the dead body of her mother on the disassembly table, and then announced to the witness in the doorway that "something's wrong with mom, so I'm taking her apart to fix her!"
In the DLC case of Dual Destinies, Phoenix Wright calls an Orca to the stand to testify about how she was manipulated by one of the aquarium workers. Her testimony is as follows: Fweet... Fwe fweet. Fwe fwe fweet fwe fweet! Fwe fwe! *click* Fwe fwe fwe fweet! *whir* *click* Fweet fweet! Fweet? Fwe fweeeeet! Phoenix uses the information gleaned from this to solve the case.
In the third case of Spirit of Justice, Maya Fey is accused of the murder of the high priest. Phoenix defends her, and in the first trial, he loses. The laws of Khura'in, the made-up country they're in, stipulates that anyone who defends a criminal will be held to the same accountability as said criminal. Ergo, Phoenix gets sentenced to execution. He survives though so no worries.
In Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's path, the dead body of the Sculptor Isaac Dover is hidden in a block of ice by his murderer for 18 years, before being taken out of the freezer and displayed in a museum exhibit.
In The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve, Kazuma Asogi makes his way to the British Empire, despite having no memory. Mael Stronghart, the Lord Chief Justice, assigns him to the prosecutor's office because of his knowledge of British law. How this interaction could conceivably have happened is not addressed a single time.
To people who have not played Ace Attorney: Which of these do you think has NOT happened in the games?
