lore checkpoint
a series of loosely connected groups of dragons in and around dragonhome
tenebris grove - an unnatural grove of gloomy pine trees north of the border with the tangled wood. filled with crumbling ruins and overgrown underbrush, a new town has sprung up in response to greater trade throughout dragonhome (tag)
the hallowbluffs - at the top of a high pillar off the eastern coast of dragonhome sits refuge. not all clans reacted well to sornieth's recent elemental upheaval, and some drakes have needed a place to escape and rest (tag)
the faded canyon - a ravine at the eastern edge of dragonhome, where the elemental magics of the labyrinth clash with the earth. the result is the forgotten woods - a magically potent location that plays host to all manner of folk, both strange and mundane (tag)
wanderers - the rhythms of dragonhome lend themselves to meandering, and many find themselves drawn to a path, rather than a place. of course, not all are respectable travellers, and others still are outright criminals. nevertheless, they wander the cracks and crevices of the earthshaker’s realm, and as such are his children.
the cliffhang outpost - tucked in the walls of a crack in the shattered plain, the remnants of a mercenary company live amongst the ancient canyonhomes. their numbers aren’t great, so they’ve turned from more traditional mercenary practices to training other drakes instead. perhaps it doesn’t lend itself to the glory and tales of the old times, but the stories they tell now are less gory, and their coffers are fuller. it's been so damn long since we've seen oliver and between that and the anticipation i have for him i'm actually quite glad to see him get a pov chapter (shocker)
damn. last thing dear oli thought about was celia. that's so peeta coded of him to- (gunshot puts me down like the rabid dog i am)

DID ROSALIND JUST CALL ORION A WHORE AFKDJNA
rosorion need to stop being so tender. they're calling me single in like 10 different languages (which between the two of them i think they have that)

"I still wish I could remember, because under different circumstances, if you told me you loved me, I would have kissed you." I AM SCREAMING INTO MY PILLOW

I have my really long Philas WIP, the flf band AU, and the possible third part to the Tis the Damn Season AU. Now, I am outlining/brainstorming two more one shots. Can someone please yell at me to come back to these in a month? Then, my school year and my birthday will have passed, and I'll have tons of time.

fhh spoilers (are we doing the tags anymore?)
I firmly believe that in a modern AU or any situation where Silas didn't have people siphon Oliver for blood, Oliver would be a philas shipper with Rosalind.
I’m stopping doing the fhh spoilers I think since it’s been 3 months at this point. I think blocking the fhh tag and foul heart huntsman tag should probably be enough for anyone who hasn’t read it. If I’m wrong I’ll start putting cuts in again but I think it’s okay?
Also I agree about Oliver. I think Phoebe might have talked about him to Oliver a lot pre fhh because he was the only one who knew about her being Priest and he recognized Silas in fhh. So pre fhh I think he was a philas shipper. Then post fhh he and Silas are really awkward around each other unless they’re yelling at Orion together. I think Oliver would be weirdly okay with what Silas did based on his complete lack of regard for his own well-being and probably would have willingly participated. But Silas is also technically still a Nationalist so I don’t think they’ll ever be great friends or anything especially because I can imagine that it would be awkward to try to befriend the person who had you kidnapped and drained your blood and vice versa. But I think they have weird mutual respect and Oliver is happy for Phoebe and Silas. Celia probably dislikes Silas at least a little bit though. But yeah in the modern au I think they would all be friends and most of the older characters + Alisa would watch the philas mess for entertainment.

are mcyt aus still a thing? idk i wanted to draw out this scene real bad so, here ya go.
this is from an au of mine that mixes empires, origins, and dream smp (since i like the idea of smps and rps of minecraft being part of the universe/world). part of it follows shrub (from empires) as she is raised by phila n mumza, becoming wilbur n tommy’s adoptive sister. i’ll ramble about the lore behind this scene so feel free to read below:
in this scene, xornoth has become well known and has been fully corrupted by shad. in my au, shad n irene are one of the important deities in the pantheon, and created the stag brothers; aeor and exor. so in the name of shad and to also free him, xornoth has begun his conquest to collect all the artifacts to release him. unfortunately he has his eyes on finding the prized artifact of the wolf mother, and so destroys every gnome village to search for it. shrub is very young at this time, and so her and her mother run as the bells warn for xornoth’s arrival. in the midst of the chaos, shrub’s father is separated from her and her mom as the gnomes try to run towards the nether portal; which takes them to the elven kingdom, rivendell. shrub and her mother run from the oncoming swarm of piglins. fearing for the worse, shrub’s mother hides shrub inside a dead log and tells her to “never come out of there. until your father comes back, you must stay here and remain quiet...!” after hugging, her mother yells for the piglins to chase her. shrub hears the roaring flames, snorts from the piglins, and the screams of her people. calling for help. all she can do is weep quietly as her home is burned to the ground...
a week passes, and phil n mumza discovered the burndown village. they’re horrified by what they see, and while mumza searches for any survivors, phil knows who caused such a crime... phil leaves to find any supplies needed for their journey. while gathering some, he hears something. thinking it was the wind, he continued. he heard it again. he stopped and listened carefully...
and he heard it again. he followed it towards a dead log. when he peaked inside, he was shocked by what he saw: a small cub, covered in dirt and moss, shivering. he never considered the fact that children, hell families were among the casualties of the village. to witness such devastation would traumatize anyone.  once the cub acknowledged him, it only proved his point as she jumped and stared at him with eyes widened. he softened his gaze, and spoke in a gentle voice:
“hey, it’s okay. i’m not gonna hurt you.”
hearing those words seemed to calm the kid. phil continued to softly speak to her in the hopes of getting her out of the log. when he heard mumza, he shushed her and motioned her to the log. once seeing inside, she too softly told to the kid that everything is okay and that it’s safe to come out. while hesitant, shrub carefully crawled to the two and sat, shivering at their feet. phil lifted her in his arms, and for a moment he felt shrub heavily sigh and went into a deep sleep. in that moment, she knew she was safe.
-
PHEW CREATIVE WRITING!! my writing is bad and there’s probs a lot of mistakes, but i hope it gets the scene across well enough! i have more lore regarding my mcyt au, so i’ll probably come back and share more. thank u for reading my weird thoughts LOL.

As night falls on Snow Gardens, the park security springs into action. Their arrival is announced by a voice over the speakers scattered around the park, saying that ‘the park is now closed, any trespassers will be removed by park security.’
Removal, unfortunately, as Phila Ment learned the hard way, included bludgeoning and dismemberment; strung across the front of the Castle Coaster are the remains of the Tribute  – hung on walls, lazily laid at the entrance of the coaster, their head impaled on the turnstile to enter the coaster itself. The pieces are left as warning to evade the guards at all costs.
The guards are faceless and almost silent – they move with an eerie coordination always in packs of two, scouring every crevice of the park in search of trespassers. The only thing that readily marks their presence are the beams from their flashlights and the jingle of their keys. A more astute Tribute, if too close or face to face with the mutts, hear a muffled voice from behind the smooth skin of their faces – the words are incoherent, though the tone indicates almost like the security guards are trying to yell.
If a guard gets their hands on a Tribute the only thing they can do is fight to stun them so the Tribute can run or to kill them. More guards appear in their stead, however and much like a hydra, where one is killed, two more appear. The other option the Tributes have is to hide, though caution is necessary as the guards know nearly every inch of the park itself.
Time to next plot drop: 48 hours

Fire emblem Awakining story
Robin’s mom's name is Anastasia.
“Anastasia..” Validar said creepily as he was searching for her.
She stayed quiet fearing for her and her daughters’ safety.  She shutters hearing her “Husband”’s voice. Her rapid steps slightly make a slight sound. “Aha! There you are!”He exclaims.  Anastasia readies lightning magic in her free hand. “Archthunder!” Anastasia yelled as she aimed for a pillar to distract him. The thunder hits the post next to Validar, begins to crumble, and lands on him. As it landed on him she ran far away.
After a long time running, she finally stops for a breather “Kathrine… Mia… you’ll be safe with me.” She gently says. At the same time, she says that Kathrine coos. “Well let’s get walking my children. Ylisse won’t come to us..” She said she walked and walked for weeks until she got to Ylisse’s capital.
“Halt! What is your business with her grace?” A guard exclaimed.
“I need to be hidden from my husband… I cannot explain why.” She said
“Sorry ma'am, but that is none of her grace’s business.” The guard said. As Anastasia began to walk away she heard a young girl’s voice. “Halt! Ms. I will help you.” She turned around and saw the exalt!  Anastasia begins to give a courtesy but Emmeryn stops her. “There is no need for that. How may I help you?“ “Please, I need to hide... I… I'm afraid my husband did something to my daughters. I want them to be raised as normal girls..” She cried. Emmeryn thought for a moment. “I’m afraid I can only give you an old abandoned house. Is that alright?” Emmeryn asked. “Yes, that would be lovely. Thank you.” Anastasia said a guard led her somewhere to sit down.
“Do you think it is wise to let a Plegain into the kingdom?” Phila asked. “Yes, She is seeking asylum because of her husband. My heart made its decision when I heard her plea.”
Chapter one.
“Kids supper is ready!”  Anastasia told her girls. The girls stopped playing whatever game they made up and headed to their mother. As they were eating Anastasia asked the girls a question. “ If you could do anything in the world. What would you do?” Kathrine and Mia were excited. “I want to be a tactician like you Mom! Heading into battle with a mighty tome!” Kathrine exclaimed. “I want to be a pegasus knight!” Said Mia. “Well you two, those jobs are hard-working professions. So you’ll have to work hard. You also -” Anastasia was cut off by her girls. “Have to hide your marks…”  They finished her sentence. “Good!” Anastasia said out of love for her kids.
Chapter 2
Ten years later. The twins are 22 and are sleeping in a field.  Chrom, Lissa, and Fredrick happen upon them. “Chrom look!” Lissa exclaimed pointing at the sisters. “Let’s go check on them, Lissa.” Chrom said as he and Lissa walked to the young women.
“Chrom, We HAVE to do something.” Lissa said as the twins opened their eyes. “Well, what do you suppose we do?”Chrom said.  Uh... I don't know!... (turns from Chrom to the twins)
“I see you’re  awake now.” Chrom said, Lissa giggled and said “Hey there.” “There are better places to take a nap than on the ground you know. Here give me your hand. Lissa takes the other one’s hand.”
The twins take one of the royal’s hands and pull them up.
“You two alright?” Chrom asked the twins.  “Yes, Thank you sir.” They said in unison. “My name is Chrom. What are yours?” He asked. “My name is Kathrine, This is my twin sister Mia.” She said. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I dream of being a Pegasus knight.” Mia said.  “Oh, really? I can personally recommend you to Phila. If you would like.” Chrom spoke Mia gasped.  “P-Phila?!” “is there something wrong Mia?” Kathrine asked her sister. “Phila is the leader of the pegasus knights! So i would love that Chrom.” Mia replied. “Milord, are you sure you want a stranger to join the knights?” Frederick spoke up.  “Who is this Chrom?” asked Kathrine. “My name is Frederick, I serve Lord Chrom and Lady Lissa.” Frederick said. “Wait, Are you two royalty?!” Asked Kathrine.
Chapter 3
“Yes, We are!” Lissa said gleefully. “But don’t treat us any differently,” Chrom added in.  “How about it Mia? Will you let me take you to meet Phila?” He asked. “I would gladly. Kathrine, would you tell Mother I’ll be late getting home?” Mia asked her sister. Kathrine was surprised by her sister. “Mia Mother told us never to go somewhere without the other! I’m not leaving you alone.” Kathrine held out her bandaged hand’s pinky finger to intertwine it with Mia. Mia smiled and used her pinky and intertwined it with her sister. “Kathrine, Mia is one of  your hands injured?” Chrom asked her. “No, I just can’t say why we have to cover one of our hands,” Kathrine explained. Chrom nods and heads to a nearby town. Lissa smells smoke and notices the town is on fire.  “Chrom, look at the town!” She exclaimed. “ Damn it! The town is ablaze! Those blasted brigands, no doubt... Frederick, Lissa! Quickly!” Exclaimed Chrom drawing his sword.
“What about them m’lord?” Frederick gestures at the twins.
“Unless they are on fire they can wait.” Chrom said.
“Aptly put m’lord.” Fredrick said.
“Let’s go already!” Lissa said.
Chrom, Lissa , and Fredrick leave for the village.
“But what about-hm…” Kathrine said with a moment of indecision she decides to follow them.
“Kathrine wait!” Mia said jumping on her pegasus that was nearby and following them.
Garrick a bandit leader began to talk when they got there. “Gwa ha ha! Get to it, lads! Grab anything shiny, and put the rest to the torch! We gots an example to set for these Ylissean types! Ain't that right, lass?”
A maiden yells out “S-stay away from me! Please! Someone! HEEEEEELP!”
“Chrom, we have to stop them!” exclaimed Lissa.
“Don't worry—after today, these bandits won't be bothering anyone ever again…” Chrom reassured Lissa.
Kathrine and Mia run up to Chrom and the others.
“Wait!” Kathrine said.
“You followed us. Why?” Chrom asked confused.
“I couldn’t stand the idea of innocent people getting hurt. We know around a fight if you’ll have us.” She explained.
“Of course- strength in numbers. Just stay close.” Chrom said.
“Remember, Kathrine, we face practiced thieves and murderers. They will grant us no quarter. It's kill or be killed.”  Fredrick spoke.
Kathrine readies her tome and prepares to fight with Chrom.
“So, Kathrine, I see you wear a sword. Is it— Wait, is that a tome? …You know magic?” Chrom inquired.
“Yes, I do.  My mother taught me.” She replied with a grin.
“You’ll have to tell me about her later.” He spoke.
After the battle
“Well, that's the end of that.” Kathrine said to them.
“Lucky for the town, we were close by. But holy wow, Kathrine! You were incredible! Swords, sorcery, AND tactics! Is there anything you can't do?” Lissa exclaimed.
“You two are sure no helpless victim that’s for sure.” Chrom sighed in relief.
“Indeed, an interesting coincidence is why you two and the bandit share an accent?” Frederick questioned
“Well, We were secluded area of Ylisse with only a few people. We kept to ourselves and didn’t really talk to anyone else.” Mia said
“You fought to save Ylissean lives. My heart says that's enough.” Chrom said
“And your mind, milord? Will you now heed its council as well?” Asked Fredrick.
“Frederick, the Shepherds could use someone with Kathrine's talents. We've brigands and unruly neighbors, all looking to bloody our soil. Would you really have us lose such an able tactician? Besides, I believe their story, odd as it might be.”Chrom spoke to Fredrick.
“Thank you, Chrom..” Kathrine said.
“So how about it Kathrine? Will you join us?” Asked Chrom offering a hand to Kathrine.
“I would be honored Chrom.” Kathrine said taking his hand and shaking it.

(very slight emetophobia warning!)
She’d pictured this reunion a thousand times over.
Maybe, she would run to her and there would be no reaction. Her Lady Exalt, placid and cool as marble against a feverish cheek, steady and unmoved, unmelted. Tears would spill and burn into stony eyes, and Phila would track them as they traced another’s cheeks. She had enough tears to cry for both of them.
With a twist of anticipation, she had longed for rage. For yelling, and accusations, for a righteous fury that scorched her, left her little more than an outline of ash. Let me know the true extent of my failure. She would smile upon her punishment, fall, alight, like a comet.
On dark nights, when the candles had perished in their own wax, she saw a tomb. Grand, quiet. She would steal into it in the night, trace the words with her hands, become the guardian of her memory.
Each iteration - pressed against her mind’s eye with the hazy quality of impossibility, of fantasy - was considered, reconsidered, passed between her hands and reshaped with the careful care of a strategist. Never once, was the possibility of nothing considered. If there had been a question of her being drawn back into the orbit of her Exalt, Phila hadn’t been aware of it. Whatever poison seeping from her brain, that murmured she was long gone, had not fallen into her heart, stubborn thing - justified in its dogmatic persistance by the chance of being illuminated from within by green eyes which peeled back layers of flesh, scryed the depths of her very being. Even now, darting confusion, they pin her in place, dissect her. She remains kneeling. It’s easier. She doesn’t have to meet those eyes.
Phila. Love. She’d really been doomed from the start, hadn’t she? A name like that was predeterminate. A name like that could only tie itself into knots, into bondage to another. Foolish girl, to love a God. To reach for an icon. To tuck kisses into marble corners, to prostrate and say prayers, the contents of which consistented of a single word. Single-minded. That’s what she was, always had been.
She’d known, even as she tried her best to see it before it came, that these outcomes were impossible. An ant could not look up at the sun and read its path. She would be blinded. The Exalt of Ylisse would not, could not expend such energies on her servant.
And even as she has tears in her eyes, she can’t help but smile. Because she’s here. She’s really here. Her sun has returned. And they can go back to how it was before. The end was not the end. Spring has come again, and the flowers burst through the soil at Nature’s command. Students buzz around them, she hears murmuring. It could’ve been a thunderclap, and it would’ve passed over Phila like a whisper.
Because Emmeryn was before her. Reaching to heal her with hands that were already heavy with an unseen weight. Hovering inches away, light on a lake, moments from shattering, with an unsteady voice, and hestitation, and fear - Gods, she loathed that she could ever drive fear into her heart - in all her ascendancy. Always above her. Yes. This was right. Lingering on the dirt ached, but it was a familiar pain. They could retrace these steps together. They could make their way home together. Phila. The bonds of allies, the segment of love a ruler bestows to the devout. Phila, the idea of an embrace. She could live with that. Even as she wanted.
And Gods, she wanted. It rose in her throat like bile, like the steel blade bite of blood. The weight of her own desire, to hold her again, to feel the warmth of her breath against her cheek, to enfold her and defend her, and… kiss her. It would’ve choked her from the inside had it not been disrupted by new revelations.
I don’t recall who you are.
The new Exalt sits on her throne like a child on a mountain. She looks so small, so vulnerable. People crowd into the ceremony, a full house. They gather to hurl stones and obscenities. Phila isn’t one of their number. She watches from the stables, trying to calm the pegasi who have caught wind of the panic thronging the air. She doesn’t know how this child could spring from the corpse of a tyrant.
She hates The Exalt. She hates him for sending her father away, and planting a hollowness in his eyes. But, she can’t find it in her to hate her. This girl. She looks to be around her age, and Phila can’t imagine the weight of the metal halo that drags her head into a permanent bow of pennace.
Suddenly she is young again, terrified for someone she barely knows. Suddenly Emmeryn is accosting her, surly and childish, in the stables to try and beg forgiveness for a crime she had never committed. Even now, she tried to make amends for sins that were not hers to bear.
Emmeryn whom she had whispered secrets to, when they were hidden under hay and wingbeats. Who had got her to laugh, properly laugh from the deepest part of her stomach. A closeness Phila had gotten only because of flagrant disrespect for her rank. A rank she no longer recalls. Someone who was indeed, dear to her.
She risks a glance at her, and sees tears falling like strings of pearls. She wants to reach up, brush the tears away. Look at her, and do nothing else for the rest of her life. Inhabit the quiet space of before-prayer, the silence of focus before the words come. Attentive and holy.
She cannot recall Phila. But she has yet to lose herself. And Phila can live with that.
‘Your Grace.’ The words weigh down her tongue, hard and heavy as chains. ‘You were a ruler. You were, are, the Exalt of Ylisse.’ They don’t come easily, the epithets, the titles. Her head does not need to know the weight of a crown. But she deserves to have some remembrance of who she once was. A reminder of the distance she needed to keep from Phila. ‘And I was your knight. Phila. It is my duty to defend you with my life, and I failed you. It is inexcusable, you shall not forgive me.'

senator skywalker and sith senator kenobi au where anakin annoys obi-wan so much that in the end he just. fuckign rails him to shut him up. but then afterwards he’s all pliant and sleepy and beautiful, and for the first time in 30 years something in obi-wan’s cold dead heart shudders to life.
good lord I’m really, really into it.
The dynamic is so different here, because Obi-Wan is doing this ‘hidden Sith in politics’ very well, he’s charming, pleasant, pays attention to what he says in public and everyone feels heard and important when he’s here. He was even voted one of the most popular Senators among the public this year.
Senator Kenobi could declare that he’s going to nuke Coruscant in the next hour and people would probably thank him for being brave enough to announce it himself. He’s everything Sidious hoped for, and Obi-Wan thinks that it’s worth being away from real action and unable to wield his lightsaber for a few years.
But then Senator Skywalker shows up, and Obi-Wan’s nerves never truly recover.
Skywalker is the worst. He has an extraordinary gift for making everything difficult: questioning centuries-old protocols, rallying the public (and even politicians, because they’re all as brain-dead as the people they represent) to useless and time-consuming causes like stopping slavery in the outer rim, (is there still people living in the outer rim? Gross.) trying to make revolutions and civil wars happen everywhere he goes and diverting everyone from Obi-Wan’s objective by being loud and obnoxious.
He’s a pain in the ass, and unfortunately, he notices Obi-Wan. And from this moment, where Obi-Wan allows himself to be annoyed at another senator instead of violently murdering them in cold blood like he wants to, Senator Skywalker becomes the bane of his existence. Putting himself in his way whenever he can, voting against every bill Obi-Wan promotes, arguing with him over petty details from 08:00 to 19:00 and sometimes even through the press, until he’s permanently tightly wound up and angry enough to look borderline furious any time Skywalker walks in his field of vision.
And Skywalker smiles through it all.
Obi-Wan dreams of decapitating him.
The day Obi-Wan finally looses his legendary patience in public and yells at Skywalker is also the day he fucks Skywalker through his desk three hours later.
Obi-Wan throws him out of his office after five seconds of blessed silence, when Skywalker recovers enough of his wit to make a sharp comment about knowing that Obi-Wan couldn’t be as perfect as everyone said he was.
This, (fucking him, not throwing him out) was a colossal mistake. He knows. He just... couldn’t find any other way that doesn’t include maiming him for life to make him shut the fuck up for one minute.
Skywalker takes it as an invitation to bother him in private in addition to turning into his personal nemesis in public. Anytime they’re left alone, Obi-Wan snaps at him, throws sarcastic comments after rude remarks, criticizes absolutely everything from the ugly scar on his face to his unrealisable and childlike ideas about social changes. But Skywalker doesn’t leave, and argues with him or finds it funny, and it only makes him stick around more (he is funny, in a very dark and horrifying sense of humour that absolutely no one should know Obi-Wan possesses.)
But it’s also almost... relaxing, to be able to talk to someone without carefully choosing words beforehand. To say the most outrageous thing his mind comes up with, and only have Skywalker laugh and maybe even add a comment himself. Skywalker has his limits, obviously (Obi-Wan knows now to never approach the slave topic in a fifty lightyears radius again, and notices that he’s weirdly protective of Naboo’s Senator) but any violent argument is generally solved by fucking and then ignoring their divergence of opinion.
They fuck when the atmosphere becomes too tense between them, they fuck when it’s convenient, they even fuck when they celebrate the departure of a hated colleague or Stewjon’s victory in whatever mid rim sport is popular these days. Sex is good, even better when they start to learn what they both like and relish the intimate noises they can draw from each other a few doors away from their colleagues.
They still hate each other. (One time a journalist asked him about his thoughts about Skywalker’s reelection as Tatooine’s Senator, and Obi-Wan said “I think he’s the senator Tatooine deserves”. Later that day, Skywalker commed him. “You’re really good at shitting on me and my planet without anyone noticing, hm.” He knew he was smiling, so Obi-Wan smiled too and told him to be in his office without his pants on in half an hour if he wanted to complain about it.)
They still don’t get along. (”They’re children, Kenobi, you’ll have to be extra nice in front of the cameras and not look like you’d rather have a vasectomy than spend one more minute listening to their incomprehensible babbles and being touched by their dirty little hands,” Skywalker once said while readjusting Obi-Wan’s collar. “You know I hate doing that.” “Yes, but you’re also very good at pretending to have human feelings.” “I know, it’s a curse.” Skywalker half-laughed, half-kissed him. He didn’t hate it.)
Obi-Wan still throws him out of his office or apartment after he’s done with him. (Except that one time Skywalker fell asleep in his bed because he had an exhausting day and still came to Obi-Wan’s apartment. And this one time he blinked slowly at him right after sex, all warm and soft and content and said “This is the only time my brain can shut down and I’m finally free.” And also the time Skywalker came back from his horrible two-month-long diplomatic mission that almost killed him and spent two days on his couch, refusing to talk but leaning in when Obi-Wan’s hand stroked his head.)
(It means nothing.)
But then Skywalker makes the mistake of being jealous.
Obi-Wan has never really cared about...Well, anyone, really, so when he fucks (gently, slowly, with soothing words, Force, this is all so boring) the pretty niece of a King to make her change her uncle’s mind about taxes on hyperspace lane routes in his sector, he doesn’t think about it much.
Until Skywalker barges in his office yelling. It’s different from their usual banters and fights. For once, Obi-Wan is more confused than irritated because Skywalker isn’t making any sense (less than usual anyway) and keeps talking about Obi-Wan being the worst (nothing new here) and when he finally understands that it’s about... Phimla? Phila? Whatever the name of the girl was, he can’t help but be annoyed.
“Oh, please don’t tell me that you’re a romantic.”
He’s waiting for more yelling, but nothing comes. Skywalker just stands here, looking at him like he barely recognises him, with an expression Obi-Wan can’t completely read. It’s a long silence, almost an uncomfortable one because nothing should be so still around Skywalker who’s always on the move. It doesn’t feel right, not knowing what to say to him, how to make him react, understand what’s happening.
It takes a long, long time to realise that Skywalker is holding back tears.
Obi-Wan can’t deal with crying people. That’s the only reason he hates seeing Skywalker’s trembling hands running through his hair.
“I can’t believe I thought you could— Doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. Of course you can’t understand normal emotions, it would make you human and we both know you can’t even be in the same sector as human or else you implode.”
"Skywalker—”
“Fuck you, Obi-Wan.”
He leaves. He has never called him Obi-Wan before.
Obi-Wan doesn’t see him for weeks. Not in the corridors of the Senate, not at cocktail parties, not in meetings. No one challenges him when he speaks in public now, no one makes a sarcastic comment about his flowery turns of phrases or pushes him in an empty room for a blowjob right before an important conference to throw him off.
It’s boring.
It doesn’t help that people have been acting weirdly lately.
“Should I book two tickets?” His assistant asks him when he tells her to get him transport to Stewjon for a weekend. “No, why would I need two tickets?” She sends him an unimpressed look.
Despite his best efforts to be polite and courteous, Senator Amidala refuses to speak directly to him.
Even Sidious makes a comment. “You’ve been distracted lately.” Obi-Wan doesn’t know how to answer to that. It’s best to say nothing. “I have something to cheer you up, you’ll like it. I think it’s time we get rid of a... troublesome Senator.”
Obi-Wan thinks he’s having one of these unpleasant feelings he despises.

Struggle
“Get her to the Tardis now!” The Doctor yelled, following quickly behind them.
The Tardis door unlocked as Ryan approached the door way. He urged Yaz inside while Graham and The Doctor pushed their way in, desperately trying to avoid being shot at.
Yaz’s arm was in pretty bad shape. Bruises covered her waist and wrists from being held so tightly.
They’d captured her and held her prisoner for at least a few hours. The Doctor hadn’t been able to figure out where they hid her until they’d already hurt her. And that angered her terribly, though not as much as Yaz actually being hurt.
Her injuries were easily treated though. Daily doses of painkillers and antibiotics, numbing creams and regular bandage changes. That, and a lot of rest.
She couldn’t lift her right arm, as a result of it being heavily bandaged and still incredibly painful. She’d attempted to put on a shirt, but struggled. She huffed, giving up and settling for a thin black dressing gown that was hung up on her bedroom door.
Staring at herself in the mirror, she noticed. Her hair was an absolute mess. A bird could nest in here, she thought as she pulled at strands of hair.
A knock on the door distracted her. 2 knocks quick and light. She knew it was her.
“Can I come in?” Her voice spoke softly though the door.
“Yeah, of course” Yaz replied then watched as the door swung open. She was surprised to see that she’d entered pushing the door open with her back. You frowned.
The Doctor turned around, a full tray in hand, expecting to see Yaz laying in bed, resting. Her body turned towards the injured woman.
“Is that my dressing gown?” She tilted her head like a confused puppy, squinting ever so slightly.
“No,” Yaz lied, it looked comfy so she stole it. Sue me, she thought.
“Hmm,” The Doctor took a few steps over to the end of the bed and placed the tray down, careful not to spill any tea. Walking back over to Yaz she spoke softly. “You, are supposed to be in bed.”
Her hand tucked into the right pocket of the dressing gown, and quickly came out again. A custard cream in hand.
“Exactly where I left it. In my dressing gown.” The Doctor teased, putting it in her trouser pocket. “Now,” She exclaimed, lightly taking Yaz’s healthy arm and guiding her to the bed. “You. Bed.”
The Doctor moved the duvet and helped a wincing Yaz under the covers. “You didn’t have to make me breakfast.”
“Of course I did, don’t be silly.” She tutted. ”Just something simple to keep you going.”
The tray was moved onto your lap. The Doctor then perched on the side of the bed. Finally getting a good look at the contents, she smiled. Toast, buttered. Jam on the side. A cup of tea and a small vase with 3 flowers in it. Not recognizing the flowers, she touched one.
“Where did you get these from?”
“There Oledielas, from the planet Phila. Promote healing.” she picked up the vase, and held it to her nose, inhaling the sweet smell. She passed it to Yaz, who did the same, humming in response.
The Doctor set the vase down. Yaz attempted to move her hair out of the way, but was greeted with a twinge of firey pain that ran from her shoulder blade to her wrist. “Eat up, carefully,” she teased. “I’ll be right back.”
By the time The Doctor had returned, Yaz had almost finished eating and was halfway though the tea. Standing in the doorway, with a comb in one hand and some hair bands around her wrist.
“We have to do something about your hair,”
“You’re so right,” Yaz cringed.
The Doctor walked over to the bed. “Can you scooch forward a tad?”
Without question, Yaz slowly eased forward and The Doctor gently positioned herself behind her. One leg either side of Yaz’s body.
It was uncomfortable for Yaz at first, which led to her letting out a slight groan. The Doctor went into reverse instantly, using her arms to hold herself back up.
“Shall we do this a diff-“
“No,” Yaz thought for a moment. She wanted to be close to The Doctor. Her touch was more soothing than painful. “Sit back down, you’ve got a hell of a job to do since I can’t do it myself.”
The Doctor, with great care, combed Yaz’s hair, the act becoming soothing for both of them. After making sure there were no knots, The Doctor began plaiting her long brown hair. Yaz felt soft fingers touching her head, occasionally brushing the back of her ears.
About half an hour had passed and The Doctor had finished both sides before placing a spontaneous, yet soft and delicate kiss on the side of Yaz’s neck.
A moment passed. “Will you lay with me?” Yaz whispered.
“Of course,”
The Doctor helped lower Yaz down into a comfortable position, moving her legs out of the way and laying down beside her. She didn’t even realize she had left her hand on Yaz’s thigh. Although she didn’t get a chance to move it, as she felt Yaz place her hand tentatively on top.
They couldn’t see each other, maybe that’s why they smiled so wide as they started to drift off to sleep.

Kathrine and Mia's story (Old and still working on it.)
“I’m afraid I can only give you an old abandoned one. Is that alright?” Emmeryn asked. “Yes, that would be lovely. Thank you.” Anastasia said a guard lead her somewhere to sit down.
“Aptly put m’lord.” Fredrick said.

headcanons : seraphina
seraphina really does have a temper, honestly, and she hates it. she wants nothing more to be either the kind and loving pacifist that she was TOLD emmeryn was.
seraphina really has this perfect image of emmeryn in her mind from what everyone has told her. and keep in mind the people who shaped her image of emmeryn- phila, chrom, lissa, and frederick- were HEAVILY biased and thought of emmeryn as this sort of…paragon of peace.
she wanted to reach out and heal the people the way everyone kept telling her emmeryn did, but seraphina just…can’t. she’s too guarded and quick to anger.  this inability to heal also manifests in a physical way too; when it comes to staves, she can’t get them to work quite right. the hp recovered is laughable at best.
seraphina’s always been gifted with magic, so in truth, she wanted to be a sage like emmeryn. however, she’d also been training with her mother and frederick in lancework, since phila wanted to make sure she could protect herself and wanted to pass on what she knew.
after phila’s death, she classed into pegasus knight, and then promoted to falcon knight. but again…it was a waste of her talents. she classed into dark flier right before traveling back to the past.
i haven’t considered a fates verse for seraphina yet, but i really do love the idea of phina finally being able to breathe freely and let down her guard just a bit, and slowly learn how to use staves.
as she finally heals, she accomplishes her dream of learning to heal others.
baby seraphina closes herself off from her uncle and his family after the end of the war in plegia, and especially after lucina is born. she’s still in the castle, she’s well taken care of, and her aunt and uncle do their best to make sure she’s happy, but after lucina is born, phina thinks that’s she’s been replaced.
in her mind, chrom has no use for seraphina now that he has a daughter of his own, so she just…stops going to chrom for things. and if lissa’s married pre-time skip, she stops going to lissa as well.
seraphina finds severa’s personality to be very grating. she…doesn’t think very highly of her, really. seraphina finds her to be loudmouthed, overly competitive, and her general rudeness wears on her fast. severa, as well as gerome, are the only future kids that seraphina dislikes.
the reason seraphina can’t stand gerome is because he avoids his parents.
seraphina is present during the first half of awakening, and interacts with emmeryn and phila, but only as marth’s equally enigmatic companion, nyna…not as their daughter. seraphina was present on the day of emmeryn’s execution, and watched the mother she’d never known commit suicide to save chrom the pain of having to choose.
…and perhaps even more painfully, she watches phila, the mother she did grow up with, the mother she did know, die far, far too early. she takes the weight of all this on her shoulders and feels immense guilt for being unable to save emmeryn, and for phila dying way before her time.
to seraphina, the worst has happened. she came back in time and her mothers still died. she damned the two year old seraphina back in ylisstol (or, regna ferox at that point in time) to be a orphan far too young. and she never even got to call either of them mother. if she couldn’t save them, she wishes at the very least she could have known them as their daughter.
so she sees gerome, who has his parents still but refuses to interact with them, and he becomes an easy target for her anger. and because gerome fights back, she finds herself easily provoked when it comes to him.
truth be told…it’s a lot her anger is really directed at herself. i’ve talked briefly with @wyvernrisen about this, but sooner or later she’s gonna yell something at gerome that’s really something she’s saying at herself, and break down into tears. she can’t keep bottling this shit up forever, after all.
the justice cabal, to seraphina, embodies hope. she sees cynthia, owain, and morgan as the most hopeful of the future kids, and owain and cynthia’s theatric and heroic talk really does inspire her, though she might never show it.
she’s also a bit closer to owain simply because they grew up together, more or less. at the very least, they grew up in the castle together, and they’re cousins. she respects cynthia as a fellow pegasus rider and finds her heroic entrances charming, and would help her think of new ones if asked.
all in all, the justice cabal have the highest chances of making seraphina smile and laugh.
a habit that seraphina picks up once in the past is soap carving, which began during her brief stay in ylisse castle post-awakening before leaving once more as her breaking and smashing the soap bars she found in the bathing rooms impulsively, mostly because she could. something as simple as soap wasn't such a rarity anymore, and crushing it between her fingers wasn't such a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
but she did still feel guilty, so instead she channeled that impulse into carving the soap instead. over time, it's something she grows quite skilled at.

Death is Only the Beginning
Tumblr media
The next morning, we arrived in Karnak in the late afternoon. Rick and I were anxious to get off the ship. Izzy tied the ship down as Rick and I ran to the train that the red robed people were on as Ardeth ran to the temple. I cleared one of the rooms while Rick cleared the other half.
"They're gone. We've lost them." I yelled to Rick as I hopped out of the locomotive car. I joined Rick on the outside of the train just as I heard Evy yell.
"ARDETH!!!" She screamed bloody murder. Jesus fuck Evy. We sprinted to meet her in the temple. I walked in surrounded by all the once beautifully embezzled walls stroking my hand across them wishing I could read what all of the pillars said but that would take forever and we didn't have that kind of time.
"Alex left us his tie... And he made us a little sand castle. It's the Temple Island of Philae. They've gone to Philae." I smiled, my nephew was one smart cookie. just like his mother.
"Attaboy, Alex. Come on!" Rick said running back towards the ship. We hopped aboard. The ride to Philae was pretty short, I didn't get off this time instead I stayed and admired the view from where we were, I knew if Alex was leaving these breadcrumbs it wouldn't be long until we found them. Philae was beautiful, maybe a spot for a future vacation I smiled to myself as the thoughts consumed my head. Once Rick, Evy and Ardeth got back on board they told us we'd be going to the temple of Abu Simbel. Ardeth wrote a note and sent Horus on his way to the 12 tribe leaders. Soon we were surrounded by rock happily cruising through the beautiful landscape.
"That's the Blue Nile down there." Rick pointed out the obvious as he looked over the side of the ship.
"We must be out of Egypt by now." Rick said feeling confident we were getting closer to Alex.
"In ancient times, all this still belonged to the upper kingdom. The oasis must be around here somewhere." Evy said feeling the same way I was. I was getting very impatient as we drew closer, I longed for the ground and to be in action again. I hated being in the sky for so long although I knew this was the quicker way to get things done and to find Alex sooner. But by god if I wasn't on the ground soon so help me I was going to attack someone or throw myself off the ship, this time literally.
"Don't worry. We'll find him. He's a smart kid. He'll leave us a sign." Rick said once again trying to soothe my sister in this stressful process. I smiled. Suddenly, I had this horrible feeling come over me. It seemed like paranoia so I brushed it off, then I saw Izzy's face portraying the same thing. Oh no... I started to hear something coming for us. Whatever it was I had no idea but immediately I saw it from the back of the ship. My family had been at the front. I was paralyzed, I couldn't move as I saw the giant wave of water with Imhotep's face in it.
"We're in trouble!" Izzy screamed alerting us to the danger.
"Wow." I heard Jonathan breathe out amazed to see this giant wave of water coming towards us. It took us a while to actually register what was happening.
"Horus, fly!" Ardeth said immediately the bird took off knowing he needed to get away from the water that would soon overtake our airship.
"Izzy, come hard right! Starboard! Starboard!" Rick yelled eager to get us away from this the threatening water wave. Just as the face attempted to swallow us Rick ran to me and grabbed my waist so I wouldn't fall down as the ship propelled forwards and Izzy guided us to safety. Even with Izzys best efforts the water splashed over us. Promptly soaking Rick and I. Shit, wet. I shivered as we recovered Rick kept his arms around me trying to warm me up with his body heat.
"Was there a little something you forgot to mention? Hmm...?" Izzy said glaring at Rick and I.
"People?" Jon asked drawing our attention to the beautiful scenery before us. Rick guided me towards the front of the ship. The Oasis. Oh my god. I couldn't believe the beautiful sight before me. It was stunning, jungle surrounded the lone pyramid out in the middle of nowhere. Cascading waterfalls were flowing down the rock with no end.
"Ahm Shere." Ardeth breathed out happily. Rick got a spyglass and looked at the pyramid.
"Right." He said putting the glass down.
"He's back!" Izzy yelled drawing our attention to the back of the ship once again.
"Hang on!" Izzy yelled as he was about to propel us forwards again, Rick grabbed my waist in preparation. The face roared at us ready to take us down. Izzy's little trick did propel us forwards for a good 3 seconds then nothing everything stopped.
"Izzy!!!" I yelled concerned what the fuck was happening. The face drew closer.
"Well, that's not good." He said matter a factly. Izzy ducked below the controls.
"Hang on!" Rick yelled as we spiraled downwards out of the sky. We hit the ground with good impact but the ship made the slide a lot better. I quickly changed out of my wet clothes in the corner of the jungle where no one could see me. Happy I was finally dry-ish I walked back over to the gang.
"We're gonna go their son. Then were gonna want to get out of here fast, so make this work, Izzy." Rick said as he handed supplies to Ardeth, Evy and Jon like an assembly line. Jon was complaining but I was just happy to be back on the ground.
"You dont understand. This thing was filled with gas. Not hot air, gas. I need gas to get this thing in the air. Where am I gonna get gas around here? Bananas? Mangoes? Tarzans ass? Maybe I could finagle it to take hot air...." Izzy rambled on trying to get Rick to see the problem but eventually realizing something needed to work.
"But do you know how many cubic meters I'd need? Its too big!" He went on.
"If anybody can fill this thing up with hot air, Izzy, its you." Rick replied to him coming over to stand next to me.
"Come to Daddy." I heard Jon say from beside me as he stole back his golden stick. I rolled my eyes at him. He was determined to take this thing back with him. We all grabbed a portion of our supplies and headed off into the jungle.
"Horus." Ardeth called and once again sent the bird off on his way to tell the tribe leaders where to go.
"So, Rick, what's the plan?" Jon said getting to the point.
"Let's find some higher ground." He answered from behind him. Rick had a good plan in place it seemed. A shot rang through the air. My brain wracked itself to what was happening I check my person, no, no I was fine.
"Horus!" Ardeth screamed, when the bird didn't reply or come back he turned to us.
"I must go." Evy went forwards to reason with him.
"Wait, no you can't go." Evy pleaded with him.
"To tell the commanders where we are. If the Army of Anubis arises—" Ardeth said struggling between his son and his job.
"Ardeth, this is our son. I think they'll understand." Evy tried to reason. He gave her a look of longing.
"You're right, this is our first priority." Ardeth said. He kissed Evy on the cheek to make her feel better.
"Thank you." She whispered to him. He ran forwards to lead our group further into the jungle. Day quickly turned to night almost too quickly for my liking, I wasn't too prime on the jungle with all the bugs that were trying to bite me but I was just happy to be on my feet and with my weapons once again. We soon found a place to settle for a bit and camp out for the night.
"You hear that?" Rick asked Ardeth as he started loading his weapons.
"What?" Ardeth asked him.
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing." He replied putting his pistol away and loading a shotgun next. I was loading my own and sharpening my knifes, my favorite blades were sharper than needed but that's how I chose to fight. If I cut myself, that was a good thing.
"My word! I say, chaps, look at this. Shrunken heads. I'd love to know how they do that.... Just curious." Jon said to us as he showed us a shrine of shrunken heads. As he threw his torch in the ground to light up the ground before us. We all looked at him like he was insane.
"You any good with that?" Ardeth walked up to Jon asking about his rifle.
"Three times Fox and Hound's grand champion I'll have you know. You any good with that?" He countered the question back on Ardeth. I laughed knowing he had an awakening coming from Ardeth.
"You'll know soon enough... Because the only way to kill an Anubis warrior is by taking off its head." He replied twirling his sword at Jon and resting it at his neck. Jon gulped.
"I'll remember that." He said to Ardeth backing down from his original argument. Ardeth nodded at him. I walked up to Evy throwing her one of my shotguns, she caught it with little trouble.
"Try to remember to... Just keep it tight in the shoulder and... Lead the target a little bit,
and then squeeze the trigger-- Don't pull it." I told her promptly. She looked at me.
"I wont miss." She told me. I nodded, smiling at her. Rick walked over to me, staring down at me, he grabbed my hand pulling me over to the side so we had privacy.
"I love you." He said, a strain in his voice.
"What's wrong?" I asked him. He shook his head.
"I love-" I started, trying to tell him I loved him too. He cut me off mid sentence kissing me. I wrapped my arms around his neck happy to be in his arms again. It'd been so long since we had this kind of tenderness. Always being on the move kind of hindered us from being so close with each other. It was a different kind of closeness we shared. Just as we started to deepen the kiss he pulled away and left me standing there as he ventured off with Ardeth into the forest. I looked down at the ground and sighed. I knew he would be back. He needed to come back, I couldn't live without him. Evy came over to me after Ardeth had given her a quick kiss, Jon came up next to us. Our little family back together. Jon hugged both of us.
"It's gonna be fine loves." He said to both of us. "Jonathan.." I said.
"That's my husband down there and my son down there. Make me proud." Evy said cocking her weapon ready for a fight.
"Todays that day, Evy." He said nodding at me as we watched Rick and Ardeth travel into the jungle to find Alex. Evy took a knee while Jon and I remained standing. All the red clothed men were moving very slowly I had lost track of Alex with the grass being so tall. Rick and Ardeth were stealthily moving towards them. Very slowly red men started disappearing beneath the grass being pulled down by some unknown source. Shooting broke out among them but no one from our side was shooting, so what were they shooting at? This may actually work to our advantage. Panic broke out and everyone started running different directions. Rick and Ardeth finally broke into the clearing. Shooting at everything that moved the fight was very sloppy. I started shooting at the people who would end up getting in their way to Alex. Suddenly, two people popped up behind Rick I quickly took them out as he was taking out his two hand guns. Alex was cornered and suddenly Rick came to his rescue running away from Lock Nah with Alex on his shoulder. Ardeth took over the fight with Lock Nah. Lock Nah kept attacking as Ardeth was defending himself. Evy, Jon and I were debating whether to move down with them or not, I decided to take little steps towards everyone.
"OFFENSE ARDETH OFFENSE!" I yelled to him my position hidden by the trees. He picked up his pace and finally had the adventage in his fight with Lock Nah. Ardeth didn't waste much time, he quickly cut his hand off and right after his neck his head slowly falling off as his body hit the floor. I smiled he was safe. Now to find out where Rick got to with Alex. A shot rang out as I was making my way down the hill. I looked up at my siblings they nodded that everything was fine.
"Let's go" Evy said acknowledging the fight was over.
"Thank god for that." I heard Jon say as my siblings joined me and we all started running off to see where everyone had gone. We finally met up with Rick and Alex with no idea where Ardeth had gotten to.
"Rick!" I said throwing myself into his arms and kissing him wholly. Him being surprised by my reaction was stunned but quickly kissed me back dipping me into a salsa like move.
"Mom!" Alex said. Evy and him embracing.
"Alex!!" She said happy to have him back.
"Nice shootin', Tex." Rick said to Jonathan after he had set me back on my feet.
"What were those creepy pygmy things?" Jon asked him we had noticed a few when we were running but didn't think much of them.
"Just the local natives." Rick said waving his hand at the matter.
"Are you sure?" Jon asked unsure of himself and Rick at that moment.
"I'm sure. It was nothing." Rick told him. However, I knew his tone in that said I'm not worried unless they get a hold of you.
"Come on, Mom. Come on, Uncle Rick." Alex started yelling.
"We have to get to the pyramid. I have to get the bracelet off now!" He said almost belligerent.
"Leave it on Alex. Looks good on you." Jon said to him resting his weight on his gun.
"No, you guys, you don't understand. It'll kill me if I don't get inside the pyramid before the sun hits it... Today!" he said worried. Oh my god.
"Oh, my God." Evy and I let out a sigh, I couldn't believe this was happening to us.
"Time to go!" Rick yelled to us as there was movement in the bushes behind us.
"I thought you said it was nothing!" Jon yelled at Rick as we all started running back on a trail that would get us to the pyramid I hoped.
"Where's Jonathan?" Evy yelled looking back at me.
"He's--" I looked behind me, ah shit he was right behind me. What the fuck Jonathan, now was not the time to go gallivanting off on your own.
"Wait for me!" I heard Jon yell once again behind me, we had just crossed a huge crevasse with a river at the bottom and a fallen tree that lead us across it.
"Hurry up, Jonathan!" Evy yelled as he made his way across the bridge.
"What's that for?" Jon asked as Rick lit some dynamite and threw it to our pygmy friends.
"Oh nothing, just something in case of an emergency." He said as they caught it ad we caught our breath. The bridge blew up and the pygmys fell to their death. OH my god I was out of breath I was not in shape for this. Too. Much. Running.
"Rick." Evy breathed out his name as she saw the sun rising.
"Let's go, Alex." He said taking his arm and running a little ahead of us. I came up the rear ready to fight off whatever came at us. Finally, we got to where Rick and Alex were. Happy with how things turned out Evy ran up to them smiling her head off I stayed where I was letting them have their moment.
"They made it." I smiled happily to Jon.
"Yes. Great. Fabulous." Jon said taking off his backpack staring in awe at the pyramid. I took in all it's beauty. Suddenly, there was a sharp pain in my stomach. Before I could take in what was happening I looked into the eyes of Anck-Su-Namun. That motherfucking bitch that she was. She twisted the knife inside of me, I yelled out in pain. Then she pulled it out. I was going to reach for my gun and shoot her ass but I couldn't, I was in too much pain. Oh my god this was one of the worst feelings ever. I fell to my knees in absolute agony.
"NO!!" Rick yelled and ran up to me catching me before I fell to my back.
"JOE." Rick said to me looking in my eyes, his voice was starting to fade and everything around him starting to turn white.
"Joe, no. You're real strong. You're gonna make it. You're fine." Rick tried to reassure himself. A tear started to fall from my eyes I briefly took a look over to Alex, Evy and Jon. I loved them, Evy looked at me hugging Alex's head. Jon had gotten up from where he was thrown by Imhotep and rushed back over to Evy and Alex.
"What do I do?" Rick asked me.
"I'm so sorry Rick." I apologized slowly to him my eyes begging to take me towards the beautiful white light that awaited me if I finally closed them.
"Sweetheart, no." He begged with me.
"I love you." I told him smiling sadly, I knew this was it. "Joe? Joe... No. Come back, Joe. Come back." That's all I heard as I shut my eyes for all eternity I didn't have the strength to urge another word to Rick to make him understand all was going to be fine. There were so many things I needed to say to him, to my siblings, to teach Alex... But no this was it. No more Imhotep, no more Anck-Su-Namun, no more Rick, Evelyn or Jon, no more Josephine Rose O'Connell. I was dead and I was alone.

“BACK IN THE FORMATION! COME ON!”
The yelling and crying out were dominating over the sound of weapon clashing. That because The Shepherds were flanked from both sides by the plegain army and some ruffian who decided to join the fray and attack the Ylissean army. Regrouping was almost like a nightmare. There were a lot of injured soldiers across the battlefield which was hard to get to them to attend to their wounds because of how fierce the Plegian army was attacking. They were really out for blood. The strategy was to kill only who refuses to listen to reason and capture as many as they can–to avoid unnecessary bloodshed but that was too almost impossible by now.
The tactician suggested that they should deal with the ruffian since they are only here because they saw the army in a tough position with the plegian one and thought they could score some gold; their morals will crash quickly if they could take out the leader which Chrom with the aid of Sumia advanced quickly on the sky and Stahl with Vaike on the ground to reach faster and put an end to it. Frederick was halting the advance of the plegian army with the help of Spartan and Rebecca and the other shepherds.
All according to the plan, the ruffians soon gave up once their leader was taken down and ran away. Chrom gave order to not pursue them because it is useless but they should keep an eye on the rear whilst they try to come back for revenge. Now, they have to deal with these pests. For some reason, they are stronger than ever. Chrom did not underestimate anyone but they clearly have something up in their sleeves.
Chrom regrouped with the front line where he quickly paired up with Rebecca and she reported what had happened while he was in the rear. Now, they can focus on the enemy.
The shepherds managed to regroup and with a new plan, they attacked. All was going smoothly until some mages had finished preparing some kind of spell and aimed at whoever came at them. Spartan’s S.T.A.R. had anticipated something like this that is why he told Rebecca to find Chrom quickly and bring him back to the rear but he was already in the front, further in. The two quickly stepped on it to secure the lord but as soon they reached him, the mages ambushed them and unleashed a spell on the trio. Before they all lose consciousness, Rebecca reached to hold Chrom’s hand and the two falls on the ground. Spartan managed to take down one before falling back.
Whatever that spell was, it meant to erase memories but since it was a prototype, still in making, it simply mixed up memories for who go hit with it. Now, Rebecca is going to see one of Chrom’s memories.
Rebecca will open her eyes to see a flock of knights in front of her, falcon knights flying around and she is forced to look to the right and voila, it is...Emmeryn! A very young Emmeryn! Rebecca wanted to say something--anything but she had no control over what she is seeing! It puzzled her--even scared her that she cannot seem to control her body..wait..that is not her body! That’s..Chrom’s! And he is too very young!
“Big sister...do you have to?” Rebecca listened as the two started to converse.
“Yes, my dear brother. I am the Exalt, after all.”
“....thatsstupid....”
“Pardon?”
“I say it is stupid! Why do you have to go out and get hurt?!”
“Heh, are you worried, Chrom?”
“! O-of course, I am! People outside are mean! They say really nasty things about you!”
“That is more of a reason I should go and meet them, don’t you think?”
“B-but--”
“Chrom,” Emmeryn lowers herself enough to press her gentle hands on top of Chrom’s shoulders and face him properly at the same height as he is. “Wrong things cannot be changed if we kept them the way they are. They wouldn’t know that I love them, I care for them unless I go out and hear their worries and problems.”
“....”
“Am I...wrong?”
“...No...”
“So?”
“....just!.....just be careful.....promise?”
“Heh, promise. I have Phila at my side.” the falcon knight nodded and bowed lightly, telling the prince she will give out her life if it means to protect the exalt. “Now, now, no one is going to lose their lives today. It is a good day and it is such a shame to be sad.”
The Exalt nodded to her brother and with trumpet melodies, she stepped ahead to ride on the horse which will get her to the capital. Chrom wished to go with her but he was quite young to go out yet.
It was after a couple of hours when the Exalt was rushed into the castle. Chrom and Lissa were so eager to see her panicked when they saw their sister being rushed to her room.
“B...blood...” Chrom noticed the red color covering his sister’s face and clothes. Lissa started crying and ran after them. The prince stood there for a second, trying to register what happened. They..promised to keep his sister safe. She said that the people are good and they just need someone to listen to them. but...why she is....drenched in her blood?
“Why...WHY?! WHY SHE IS INJURED?! LIERS! LIERS!!!!! I HATE YOU ALL! YOU PROMISED! YOU PROMISED, PHILA! SHE....she.....my sister....” tears coming down because he is angry at everyone, at himself..at everything.
He went to check on Emmeryn but Lissa and Nurse Nan were outside. “Emm..?? Big sister?” Old Nurse Nan told him to stay outside until the healers get everything fixed.
He wanted to break into the room and see her but Frederick held him down until the doors were opened to allow the siblings to walk in to check on the Exalt. Chrom and Lissa ran into the room and when they saw her laid in the bed, half of her face covered in bandages, the two started crying and flung themselves at her.
Emmeryn didn’t have much energy to converse but she tried her best. “Th-...ere...there....don’t.....cry...I’m...fine...”
“No, you are not! Look at you! *sniffles*”
“Emmmyyy!!!”
“I’m..fine. I..promise...”
“You broke your promise!! You lied! Yo--*sobs*”
“Chro..m...”
“Milord. Please. The Exalt is tired.”
“Fred..rick....it’s....alright.”
“I don’t want to lose you...*sobs* please...don’t go like mom...”
“I..won’t. Not now....not...now.”
“I’m sorry....I’m sorry, big sister...I’m sorry *sobs*”
Frederick carefully pulled the two away to let Emmeryn rest. Phila recounted what had happened with them when the Exalt went into the capital. Everything was going somehow...smoothly until people started throwing and hurling things at the Exalt. Phila said she tried her best to cover up the Exalt but someone threw a stone at her so fast gushed her head which they had to go back quickly at the castle.
Rebecca would notice time moved forward when Chrom walked into Emmeryn’s room to see her brushing her hair, readying herself to go about her duties. “Big sis....”
“Ah, Chrom. Heh, would you like to help me?”
“--!...y-yes!”
He stepped forward taking the brush from her hand and gently brushing her hair. The bandages are all gone, thank Naga. But something caught his attention.
“That--....big sister?? is that...from...”
“Oh...this..heh. It is alright. It is a reminder for me. I didn’t understand our people and that was my fault. Chrom,”
“Yes, sister?”
“Please...don’t hate our people. They suffered more than we did. They are still suffering. They were hurt and still getting hurt. Our...The past still haunts us that is why we need to help them. It is our duty to them.”
“*sniffles*..Y-yes, sister...”
“Chrom? My dear why are you crying?” she turns to face him, hands reached to hold him.
“S-sister..*sniffle* y-y..you are kind...s-super kind...to everyone...even who hurts you.”
“Heh, why, thank you, dear. You are, too, my little brother kind. Any big sister will be happy to have a kind, thoughtful little brother like you.” her hands reached to cup his face. “I’m sorry to have scared you. I was careless but not anymore.”
Chrom reached to gently touch the scar on her forehead, “It..does not hurt, right?”
“Not anymore. You healed it, hehe.”
“No, I didn’t. I can’t use magic.”
“Awh, you. Is Frederick rubbing that on you now? What I meant,” she placed a hand on top of his hand, leaning to his touch, “Your kindness is your magic, Chrom.”
“My....kindness...is magic?”
“Mhm. Now, will you continue to brush my hair?”
“Yes!”
When Rebecca comes back to her senses, she will find herself in the medic tent across her Chrom sleeping on the cot beside her. She would notice she had dried tears on her cheeks as well on Chrom’s.
