It's difficult not to notice when it radiates this loudly... then again, most people aren't Empaths. Pura takes a seat beside the boy and rests her hands in her lap. Avoid getting too close, can't let the secret get out.
"I'm afraid I'm not all that educated on the current politics. If you don't mind, could you explain to me why you're worried?"
Get him talking, find out the reason why he's angry, try to resolve it.
"Hm? Oh, sure," he set his phone face down on the table, silencing it in the same second. "You noticed? Ah, that's just the upcoming elections for the next Prime Minister. I don't normally follow politics, but I hear Representative Shido is a favorite to win this year," he gestured to the open seat to accept her request.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little worried, you know?"

Okay, so, this was probably a bad idea. It's late, the followers won't be happy with her returning after dark... then again, they're never happy with her.
They've already made up their minds about her and what she does (despite it being oh so very false) that Pura can't bring herself to care at the moment. She's heard through the grapevine that this club is a fun place to hang out at and she's going to enjoy herself for once!
Getting inside wasn't too difficult, thankfully... an entry fee and that seems to be it.
It's surprisingly calm. The Pisces isn't entirely sure what she expected to see, perhaps something more... alive and rambunctious. It's actually... nice. Not too overwhelming, emotionally speaking.
One emotion rose above them all though, when the election broadcast came on. It was intense, and it was angry.
Pura zeros in on the person, a boy who couldn't be too much older than her. She slowly approaches, curiously tilting her head to the side. How does she strike up a conversation without being obnoxious? Without showing her Empathy?
"Mind if I sit here?" the Pisces questions, gesturing to the seat next to the boy. "You're staring intensely at your phone, is everything alright?"
@westernzodia
Jazz Jin, the nice and quiet secluded Jazz Club in Kichijoji. It was open only during the nights, but it was a nice quiet place to go if a person wanted a calm atmosphere to think and relax.
While it wasn't exactly known to the public, a certain detective prince was a regular there, often partaking in their drinks and the sometimes live performance while he worked on a case.
"Good evening," he greeted the owner of the club and paid his entry fee before he went to take a seat. Today, he just...needed this. No case, no Phantom Thieves, no...dealing with him.
He set down his briefcase and took out his phone while his drink was delivered to him. Oh, another election campaign broadcast...
Alright, fine.

"I've heard that food tastes better with a glass of wine--"
Not that he's ever tried. Arin wasn't normally one for drinking, and neither is Vanitas. Alcohol for either one usually spells disaster.
"Lets forget the wine for now. When would you like me to cook that stew for you? Are you hungry?"
"Oh, that makes everything better, then. I'd rather enjoy your stew sober, anyway." He seemed rather pleased and content now, much more at ease and relaxed.
Perhaps it was getting easier. Maybe he was getting used to having a partner. Maybe.
...That was a big maybe.

"No one said you had to drink it now."
Arin pulled back a bit, lightly tilting his head to the side. He inhaled deeply, to exhale and breathe out a thin veil of smoke towards Vanitas' face. The Ram then chuckled.
"But~... if you wanted to get wasted, then you can~. I won't drink this time though, so we won't end up in the same position as last time. Besides, I should remain sober while I cook. Not sure how well I'd make your dinner if I got smashed along with you..."
He felt their foreheads touch and blinked--only to be distracted by what Arin said next. Wine? "Arin, don't you remember what happened last time? I can't even handle one glass. Do you want me to get wasted on my birthday?"
He'd totally be up for the oyster stew, though. That sounded delicious right about now.
"But, I guess I can trust you..." and that was very difficult thing for the vampire doctor to admit.

@midnight-fantasm: continued from [X]
"It might have been Noe~."
There's such a teasing tone to Arin's voice, which leaves no doubt at all on who told the Ram. He gives Vanitas' hand a squeeze, and decides to connect in that headbutt the doctor clearly wanted to do.
Headbutts like that aren't something that stimulates him, not quite like head pets can. Though Arin had to take care in not headbutting Vani too hard. Last thing he wanted to do was accidentally crack his skull open...
"I got you some wine." Arin hummed, a soft smile upon his face. "I also picked up some ingredients for oyster stew, if you'd like me to cook that up for you."
#arin: the ram#midnight fantasm#VANI IS SUCH A KIND BOYFRIEND <3#Gotta be careful with Arin's head but watch this asshole headbutt shit anyways. xD

"Goodness, I had such an adorable daughter!" Lucian is hopping off of the table, walking on over to the two of them. Without hesitation, he's grabbing Meline's hand and tugging her over towards the table. A chair is pulled out, he lets her hand go (expecting her to sit in the now empty seat) and he hops back up onto the table.
"You'll have to bear with me, dear. My memories are not crystal clear, but I do remember you! You and your mother both~. Tell me, how has life been since his death? I'm quite curious~."
Rayven doesn't want to impose on anything, and he knows that Lucian doesn't care too much for him, so he stays where he's currently at and listens! He wants to know all about it too!
She hadn't expected that range of emotion all at once. That reaction, the...immediate acceptance. She knew how loving her father had been, but...
In her surprise, she'd let go of Rayven's hand and both of hers had moved over her chest.
He remembered...almost immediately.
"O--Okay--!!"Her voice came out a little squeakier than she'd intended.

For a few moments, all Lucian could do was stare. It's obvious by the slight change in his expression that he did recognize Meline... more correctly, Leo did. Those silvery eyes focus on her, letting that information sink in.
It clicked pieces together in his head, memories he didn't even realize he had, suddenly springing to the forefront of his mind.
Memories of Meline, her mother (his past lover) Jeanne, and also the other two children he apparently had. That Jeanne was a vampire, and as a result, Meline is a Dhampir. His child, by proxy of having the Leo Spirit within him.
Lucian slowly inhaled, feeling strangely emotional. He sat up on the table, rubbing his eyes a little.
"Well, I'll be damned. Never did I think I would see you again." The one grumpy tone he had had dwindled, now sounding forlorn. "So much time has passed, and yet you still look the same as you did back then..."
The Leo then started laughing. The tears are brushed away and a wide grin appears upon his face.
"It's so good to see you again, Meline! I hope like has been treating you well all these years! We absolutely have to catch up on everything~! Take a seat, take a seat~!"
She didn't exactly like the tone in his voice right now...But it wouldn't have been her fault that he was irritated or angry. It very well could just be a bad mood day...She took a slow breath and stepped forward slightly.
"I wanted to meet you..." she corrected slightly. "The newest host of Leo who..." she paused, wondering if it was okay to just spring this on him--
...She came this far already.
"Who was...my father. My father was a previous host."
"...I was just...curious."

"Whichever suits you, honestly."
It was Meline's choice, truthfully. Whether he brought Lucian out to see her, or she chose to follow him into the kitchen. The Serpent Bearer gives her hand a squeeze, but keeps his grip loose so she could pull it back if she so decided.
Rayven makes his way into the kitchen. "Lucian?"
"A little birdie is here, I'll have to call you back." The Lion was brazenly laying across his kitchen table without nary a care in the world. He lifted his phone from his ear, tapped at the screen and ended the call with whomever it was he was talking to.
Head turned and silver eyes flick towards them. For a few moments Lucian is quiet, staring.
"What do you want?" His tone was a little clipped, perhaps a bit irritated that his conversation was cut short.
"I wanted you to meet Meline! She's an old friend of ours!" Rayven didn't care for the slight grumpiness of the Leo. He was happy as could be!
Meline remembered well that knocking wasn't necessary, so she walked right in with Rayven, though she did stay slightly behind him. Luci...sounded upset about something...someone. She reaffirmed her hold on Rayven's hand.
"What...would work better in this situation...?"

Feeling Meline step closer, Rayven gave her hand another squeeze. He could wrap his arm around her, some attempt at trying to protect her and make her feel safe, however part of him realizes that perhaps that's going a bit too far and opts not to act on that desire and impulse.
"Lets head on over then."
Rayven took a step out of the treeline, and into the open. It was quiet, no one seemed to be outside currently. Which makes walking on over to Leo's all too easy!
Once outside of the door, they could hear voices.
"That's Luci's voice I hear..." the Serpent Bearer mused quietly. He reaches a hand out, to open up the door and step inside. Upon first glance, Lucian isn't in view... but his voice can still be heard. He's clearly talking to someone--
"And I swear, this brat gets into SO much trouble! It's like he intentionally causes as much of a headache for me as physically possible!"
"Sounds like he's talking about Sammy." Lulls his head to the side. "I think he's in the kitchen, though I'm not sure who he's talking to. Do you want to go and see him, or would you like me to bring him out to the living room?"
She followed his line of sight, listening to every word he said. Always. She felt her heart beat heavily and stepped slightly closer but still kept a hold of his hand.
"Okay...I think I'm ready."
To meet Leo's new host. She shouldn't consider him her father, the host wouldn't be. But she did wonder if the spirit would think about it that way--
Probably not.
Either way, she was here already. There was no turning back now. She only wished her mother had come along with, as well. Perhaps...she was still mourning...

"It's okay, you don't need to apologize." Rayven began swinging their hands back and forth! "You don't have anything to be sorry for. You're allowed to feel your emotions, whether they're good or bad, regardless of the reason. Your emotions are valid."
Those slately blue eyes drift to the clearing, where the familiar houses all laid in a semi-circle surrounding the larger one in the center.
"You know... you'll always have a home here. With us. Even as we grow up, and grow old, and eventually pass away... we're still family... and you're part of that family. Being a Dhampir doesn't change that."
She tried to take his words to heart, keeping quiet as they walked along the wooded path, but stopped just before the end. "It's just...Dhampirs don't belong. Not with humans, not with vampires...Mother was hoping I would be happier here."
She had known, even before Jeanne sent her back to the human's Paris, that she was worried over her daughter's mental wellbeing. Knowing she had to come with her to Altus Paris, among vampires that looked down their noses and snubbed her existence...Berating the former Bourreau for even daring to procreate with a human.
She took a deep breath.
"...I'm sorry. I'll be okay."

Her emotions are dropping, the nervousness is climbing up. With Meline's hand in his own, Rayven gives a light squeeze. He reaches out with his other hand to gently pet the top of her head.
"It's going to be okay." Soft reassurance. The Serpent Bearer is leaning in close, so he could touch his forehead to Meline's. Requires him bending over a bit, since she's so much shorter than he is. "I know that... they're all going to be new faces for you, but the Spirits should remember you. Mine did. There's going to be an air of familiarity, so try not to stress too much about rekindling with us. It's going to be okay."
Oh...they didn't affect him? Then...she didn't really have much to worry about at all. She hesitated just slightly, reluctantly, and slowly took hold of Rayven's hand again, now that they were beyond the point where they'd be seen. While he didn't need any comfort, she felt she might, having been worried about the family.
...But more now that she was going to see Leo's new host, and possibly meet other signs, all housed in new bodies as well.
It was going to be very different.
"I'm...a little nervous..." she admitted quietly, her grip tightening just a little.

They made it through without incident. Once past the line of trees, Rayven is pausing so he can glance back towards Meline.
"They think I'm an unwanted child." the Serpent Bearer couldn't help but laugh. The presumptuous notion, just because of the Sign he was born as. "They think they can get under my skin with baseless accusations like that!" That smile was wide, his tone was cheery, Rayven looked like he was truly having a blast!
@westernzodia continued from || xx
...She promised, so she remained as she was, making sure to at least not lose sight of Rayven's feet. She knew where seclusion was, but she still had to pretend she didn't.
At the very least, this walk seemed...easier, than with other signs. It was a little strange, despite remembering the absolute praise and adoration Leo would receive.
A weird...middle ground.
She wanted to grab his hand again, but it'd have to wait. It needed to wait...until the trees.

Rayven is pushing the gate open and stepping inside. The atmosphere didn't suddenly grow heavy unlike when some of the other Signs wander through. It remained as it had before; indifferent, calm, for lack of better words... boring.
The two of them would be rather lucky, in that the family themselves don't care much for Ophiuchus. There is a select few that don't have very nice things to say--
"There's that bastard child."
"Who is that he's bringing here?"
"No one cares..."
"Disgusting thing... shouldn't even exist."
"Unlucky thirteen..."
Rayven? Seemingly wholly unbothered by the few hisses being spat in their direction. Simply walks along, hands behind his back as he makes his way towards seclusion.
“…Mhm,” she gave a little nod and…slowly let go of Rayven’s hand. She didn’t want to give the family any reasons to say anything extra about him. She couldn’t quite…remember if it would be bad for him, though.
She tapped the toes of her shoes against the pavement, just slightly nervous, and lowered her gaze. Don’t look up, don’t say anything. They won’t remember. She was a stranger to the family now, no longer the child of Leo.

The rest of the ride was spent in silence, which Leon didn't mind. He kept his hand on top of Jeanne's, head rested upon hers. Soon enough, they reached the end of their ride. The Lion was first to get out, to help Jeanne on out of the boat.
Parasol returned, and Jeanne was at his side once again.
"Let me bring you home then."
Leon kept close to Jeanne, taking in the scenery around them. Such a lovely day-- and thankfully they weren't too far away from the estate either!
"Jeanne, I have a request..."
Then she would simply fall to silence. Not because she couldn't find anything else to talk about, but because she wanted to treasure the rest of this moment...take it in. She could wait and be patient, if it was by his side.
Finally, the boat made it back to the dock and she felt a little bit of sadness, but this wasn't goodbye yet. While she got out, she was careful not to trip over the hem of her dress, and she returned the parasol, then took the initiative to link her arm with Leon's.
"I'm ready."

"We can do that then. Once this ride is over."
Not that Leon was looking to have it end any time soon. The boat ride was relaxing! The way is gently rocked back and forth from the water, listening to the oars splash into the water and feeling the cool mist lightly sprinkle over them.
This is a moment he will remember for years to come.
And hopefully one that Leo will remember vividly for generations to come. After all, Jeanne is one of a kind. The Spirit had never been personally involved with a vampire before.
She was starting to feel glad that she took those words to heart. This was...the happiest she'd been in a very long while. The last time she remembered being even remotely happy was...when she met Chloe. When she got to play with Chloe...
"I think I would enjoy that, yes..."
Spending time with everyone would be best if it meant better integration into the family. The only other thing on her mind...was how she was going to manage her family life if they got married--and being Luca's Chevalier.

Jeanne is truly an adorable woman. A pure heart with good intentions. Surely the children will see that too and welcome her with open arms.
"There is no need to apologize, Mon cher~." Gentle reassurance. "I can handle your excitement well enough. And I'd much rather you show this level of excitement with me rather than the two young ones. It's best not to overwhelm them with such strong emotions."
Having Jeanne lean against him, Leon is tilting his head just a bit so he may rest it upon hers. They look beautiful together, quite the sight to behold!
"I don't know who told you that, but I agree with them. It's perfectly fine to want things, and it's perfectly fine to pursue the things you want. Let no one stop you, not even yourself."
Leon then reaches a hand over, to place it over top Jeanne's. A thumb gently rubs against her. "If you are feeling it, I can bring you back home with me. We can go and see them."
Hearing all this information about the kids, she felt she should be writing it down...but she could also probably learn more by trial and error as well, by actually meeting them more often. Face to face was probably better, to begin with.
She gave a slight nod, gently leaning against Leon.
"I'm sorry if I'm far too excited about this...But I've been told recently it's...okay to want things...and I think I'm going to take that to heart. I want this to happen. I want it to work out..." there was a short pause. "I want...you, and your family, to accept me..."
