The INKEY List - PHA Toner Review
Purchase: This was one of the products I ordered in July 2021 along with all the other The INKEY List products I've reviewed. Like the others, I ordered this after reading positive reviews of the product.
First Impressions: Based on both the looks and consistency, it reminded me of plain water. It's clear and runny. Though unlike water, it has a very faint, almost negligent 'sweet' smelling ingredient which (thankfully) isn't an artificially added fragrance but rather a skincare ingredient's organic smell. The product also bubbles up when you shake it.
Usage: Before I stored it away in my skincare drawer more than a year ago, I'd use it day and night after cleansing my face and spraying avene water. I would take 5-6 drops straight into my cupped palm before rubbing my hands together and going straight in. I find this technique less wasteful than using cotton pads, with the added benefit of more control on the pressure and slip with your palm over a cotton pad. Following this, I'd usually apply a serum and then my moisturizer.
When I pulled this product out of my drawer this time around in September, I used it solely as a day-time toner straight after cleansing my face (without avene water). As a tretinoin user, I didn't want to mix an exfoliant with tretinoin at night in the same routine so it made more sense using it solely for mornings. That being said, PHA is the gentlest of chemical exfoliants and can be used daily in this formulation as I did, unlike BHAs or AHAs. I followed straight with my daytime moisturizer, BYOMA Moisturizing gel cream instead of using a serum this time around.
Duration: It comes in a 100ml bottle which looks remarkably smaller than most toners I've owned. I pulled it out of my skincare drawer on September 24th when it was around 25% full. I finished it October 27th, so 25ml of this toner lasts a month of single, daily use. Safe to say the entire product, 100ml, would last you little over 3 months.
Thoughts: It's an extremely fast-absorbing formulation. My skin absorbed this toner seconds upon application and it made my skin look like glass. It also did a great job providing hydration to my skin straight after cleansing. With makeup though, I recommend going in with a moisturizer before priming as alone this toner might not be enough for dry skin. The most impressive observation was just how long it lasted. For example, I didn't expect for such a tiny amount of toner, 25ml, to last me over a month (considering you use more drops of toners than you would serums). Which goes to show that you really only need a little to cover your entire face and to keep your skin hydrated for non-makeup days.
Final: I bought this product for $13.99 2 years ago and it costs $17.49 today. It does what it says it does but overall nothing about this wow-ed me. I prefer toners that assist with skin concerns like hyperpigmentation, evening skin tone, fading acne scars, etc., over a basic toner like this one, which is why I won't be repurchasing it.

Caption taken from my Instagram:
Product gifted for free by Some By Mi and Bazaal in exchange for my honest review. This is my second product from the 30 Day Miracle Line and my fourth Some By Mi product. As far as acid based toners go, I really liked this one! It is super lightweight and didn’t feel sticky. It has a light peppermint scent to it, and to be honest I’ve smelled products with way stronger fragrances before. But then again, I don’t mind peppermint as a scent. It does leave a slight cooling sensation during application, but the that wasn’t super surprising and only lasted a couple of seconds. I also loved how smooth it left my skin feeling. If I had to choose between the 30 Day Miracle toner or moisturizer to suggest to someone, I would recommend the toner even as someone with dry leaning skin. I was incredibly happy with the instant smoothing of the dead skin on my face. Products like this one are so satisfying. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. You can buy this on Amazon here for less than $15: https://amzn.to/3sComY7

the ultimate guide to glowy, clear skin
so your skin looks great with and without makeup for your summer glow up 🫶🏽
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
things you should never skip:
- double cleansing at night
- SPF 50 during the day
- spraying a mist before applying hydrating ingredients
- getting 6-8 hours of sleep every night
- washing your hands before touching your face
- washing your pillowcases, hair wraps, and bedding once a week
- using paper towel to dry your face
the main way to have glowy skin? maintaining the skin barrier.
Find everyday products with the following ingredients:
- prebiotics + probiotics
I always use the Axis-Y Biome Radiating Essence
- fatty acids, cholesterols, and ceramides
I always use the Stratia Lipid Gold Serum/Lotion and Aestura Cream
- hydrators: Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Betaine, Panthenol
I always use the Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid lotion and Mediheal NMF Ampoule Mask
- anti-inflammatories, antibacterials and antifungals: Propolis, Heartleaf, Centella Asiatica, Cica
I always use the Cosrx Propolis Ampoule and Abib Heartleaf Essence
the other part of having glowy skin? minimal texture, radiance, and clear pores.
These are things you’d use 1-2x a week:
- a surface exfoliator: Lactic Acid (darker-skin friendly; is also hydrating), Glycolic Acid
I always use the Paula’s Choice Lactic/Mandelic Acid exfoliator
- a deep exfoliator: Salicylic Acid, EX-07 enzyme, PHAs
I always use the numbuzin no.4 Pore Zero toner pad
- Vitamin A derivatives/alternatives: retinol, tretinoin, bakuchiol, resveratrol
I always use the 23 Years Old Bakuchiol A cream
You can use your surface and deep exfoliators together, but never mix an exfoliator with Vitamin A!
The biggest help to your skin being healthy and clear? Your diet.
EAT YOUR SKINCARE INGREDIENTS (not literally)
What’s going on inside your body reflects directly on your skin - from constipation, to period cycle stage, to lactose intolerance, and more.
The essentials:
• Collagen and Vitamin A
- BB LAB Collagen powder (also has hyaluronic acid and vitamin C)
- Grass-fed Gelatin Gummies
- Country Farms Super Reds
- Leafy Greens, Carrots, Pumpkin, Cantaloupe, Mango
• Prebiotics and Probiotics
- Country Farm Super Greens
- Seed Daily Synbiotic
- Kombucha
- Kefir
- Yogurt
• good ole H20 :)
- at least 64 ounces (8 cups) a day
Wanna keep your skincare routine simple? You’ll only need 5 things.
1. Oil Cleanser (PM only)
2. Gel/Milky Cleanser
3. an all-in-one toner (hydrates, nourishes, calms)
4. a great moisturizer (preferably with fatty acids and ceramides!)
5. SPF
Just make sure your diet, exercise routine, and sleep routine are the best they can be! 💘

i love your prom photos so sad you took them down
was wondering if you could give us your skincare routine and if you could tell us what products have and haven't worked for you?
and your skincare prep for b4 makeup?
a/n: hello! of course i'm willing to do that — I'll link everything as well. it'll be separated into a few different sections: products i use (separated into different sections, and w/ a 'review'), products i tried but didn't like, morning + night routine, make-up skin prep routine. all products from LIKESKIN (check out their website)
SKIN TYPE: dry, acne-prone (I'm prone to pustular acne, cystic acne, and hormonal acne) & MY SKIN CONCERNS: hydration, acne, blemishes, scarring, and hyperpigmentation
THINGS I ALWAYS DO:
Retinol 2-3x a week Vitamin C 2x a week Mask 3x a week Exfoliating toner 2-3x a week
PRODUCTS I USE:
cleansers -
[IUNIK] Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil ;; gets make-up and sunscreen off, gentle and sensitive skin friendly, doesn't break me out.
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser - doesn't dry me out, gentle, foams up well, and cleanses my skin properly!
toners -
[ANUA] Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner - hydrating and soothing, helps take down my redness and blemishes
[NEEDLY] Daily Toner Pad - helps with texture and acne
[NUMBUZIN] No.5 Vitamin-Niacinamide - helps with acne scars and any darkness i have, i tend to put these on my cheek area and leave them for awhile
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON ] Green Plum Refreshing Toner: AHA + BHA - this is a light exfoliating toner that overall helps keep my rejuvenated
[DEAR KLAIRS] Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner - extremely hydrating, i use this every day and night so matter what, somewhat viscous
[SOMEBYMI] 30 Day Miracle Toner: AHA + BHA + PHA - exfoliating toner, don't use this if you have sensitive skin, but this helped me get rid of my pustules (acne filled with yellow pus)
serums -
[AXIS-Y] Dark Spot Glow Correcting Serum - mixed feelings on this serum since it helps a lot with my dark spots BUT it works on new scarring + if I use it too often, it triggers my acne.
[SKIN1004] Madagascar Centalla Asiatica Ampoule - incredibly soothing and hydrating, helps keep my acne under control
[The Ordinary] 10% Niacinamide Serum - started using this recently and i love it so much, helps the skin shine, removes texture, reduces acne and pore appearance
[The Ordinary] 0.5 Retinol - helps me extremely with acne; i worked up from 0.1% to 0.2% and now at 0.5%
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Retinal Eye Serum - i just love this one so much, very plumping
moisturisers -
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Dynasty Cream - i love this so, so much; hydrating, lightweight, and doesn't trigger my acne
[IUNIK] Centella Calming Gel - like the axis-y glow correcting serum, over-using this causes me some acne so i tend to use this once or twice a week, and it works wonders!
[COSRX] Centella Blemish Cream - HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT! this is genuinely one of the things that helped me clear my acne to extraordinary levels, especially when i had a huge breakout EVERYWHERE! i also use this as a spot treatment, repurchased this like seven times now
[DEAR, KLAIRS] Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask - using this with vitamin c works wonders and it overall enhances any dark spot removing products! very lightweight, jelly-like texture!
[I'm From] Vitamin Tree Water Gel - i adore this one so much; such a cooling, soothing moisturiser, and it targets almost every skincare concern ever, totally underrated!
sunscreen -
[AXIS-Y] Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen - only sunscreen that didn't make me break out and doesn't have white cast!
masks -
[I'm From] Mugwort Mask - i love this because everytime i have a breakout, it just helps me so much with redness.
[I'm From] Honey Mask - a miracle mask for an acne-prone person! one of my all-time favourite products! gives the skin a gorgeous shine as well! when i run out of this, i also just use manukka honey and oats!
/ so most of the products i use are anti-inflammatory, soothing, and target blemishes/texture/scarring; most people tend to forget that you should try and avoid anti-inflammatory products if you're not acne-prone because it may just end up triggering a breakout! all our skin is different! so here's PRODUCTS THAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME:
(disclaimer: some of these products were good but i wouldn't repurchase!)
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Relief Sunscreen: Rice + Probiotics - sunscreen - triggered my pustular acne but was incredibly lightweight, super sad it didn't work out for me :(
[HARUHARU WONDER] Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner For Sensitive Skin - toner - i just didn't like this, it didn't do anything for me and caused my skin to itch.
[AXIS-Y] Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash Off Pack - mask - i used all of this up and came to the conclusion it just didn't do much for me and was also incredibly difficult to wash off.
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Glow Serum: Propolis + Niacinamide - serum - now, i genuinely loved this but it only gave me a glow and was very small, ran out too quickly! much better products that do the same job with more product and more cheap!
[BEAUTY OF JOSEON] Glow Deep Serum: Rice + Arbutin - serum - this triggered my pustular acne so bad that i threw it away almost immediately, nuh-uh!
[MIXSOON] Bean Essence - serum - this isn't bad per se, but i feel like it's a very overhyped product and doesn't do much other than boost hydration, i use it but i wouldn't buy it again
[NUMBUZIN] NO.3 Skin Softening Serum - serum - i have such mixed opinions on this one because it really does help with texture but not if you keep using it? so i'm not sure if i'd repurchase.
[NUMBUZIN] NO.5 Goodbye Blemish Serum - serum - feels heavy, doesn't do shit other than trigger my acne and make my skin itch
[SOMEBYMI] 0.1% Retinol - serum - definitely a great beginner-friendly retinol but far too light for me and my acne-infested skin :(
MORNING ROUTINE:
cleanser (green plum refreshing cleanser from Beauty of Joseon
toner (i'll switch between the ANUA Heartleaf one and the Dr, Klairs Supple one)
serum (i'll tend to use a soothing serum such as the SKIN1004 centella asiatica one or a vitamin C serum)
moisturiser (dynasty cream or vitamin-tree water gel)
sunscreen
NIGHT ROUTINE:
double cleanse (IUNIK cleansing oil + BoJ green plum refreshing cleanser)
mask (either honey or mugwort mask, leave for twenty minutes)
toner pad (leave on for five minutes minimum)
toner (usually an exfoliating toner at night-time or a hydrating toner)
serum (tend to opt for niacinamide + retinol at night)
moisturiser (usually the vitamin e mask OR dynasty cream)
spot treatment (COSRX Blemish Cream)
MAKE-UP SKIN PREP ROUTINE:
(this is what i did on the day of prom as well!)
toner pad (leave these on for ten minutes and rub around face, this helps hydrate the skin; i use the numbuzin ones)
niacinamide (helps tighten pore appearance and just helps in every single way)
soothing serum (centella asiatica to overall help the skin!)
moisturiser!
/ i hope this helps!

i want to send a pic of my beat so bad but honestly speaking im a wimp who will NAWT be doing a face reveal BUT i will say i do get compliments on my makeup semi often and esp on my base!!!! 🙈💋
now i will warn u i am NOT a clean girl makeup girly or very natural beat at all so just letting u know i use A LOT more than most ppl i would assume use
ok lets gooo:
skincare prep: use facial cleanser (cerave hydrating or the ordinary hydrating cleanser) to wash face w either lukewarm or cold tapwater. let face air dry or use clean facial towel (i just use a mini towel) to dry face by patting the skin gently a few times max. use toner (some by mi aha bha pha toner) by patting it on face. give 30 secsish to dry. now put on moisturizer (laniege water face mask or cerave hydrating moisturizer or the face shop rice ceramide moisturizer). put on sunscreen (olay 30spf moisturizer sunscreen).
then use primer (elf hydro grip pink or blue works)
onto base: use foundation/cc cream/tinted serum depending on ur preference (f: clio kill cover mesh. cc cream: elf camo. tinted serum: loreal true match). i blend using a damp beauty blender. then i (excessively) use atleast 2-3 concealers of different shades. starting w the darkest to even out my skin tone (the body shop), medium to give more coverage (loreal instant age rewind eraser), and lightest to lighten my undereyes and other areas i like to be highlighted (peripera double longwear cover or focallure liquid concealer both from YesStyle). blend all three after each one w a beauty blender. i then use a setting spray to keep my base in place (i use the milani make it last but i do NOT recc it 🙁).
blush: yet again i am excessive w this 😜 i like looking like my crush just winked at me and i cannot handle the attention 24/7. i start w a matte blush/tint (nyx powder puff lippie or peripera ink airy velvet) then blend w my fingers. after i use a glowy blush (elf halo glow) and blend w my fingers again. lastly i "set" w a powder blush (etude cookie blush).
eyes: during my base routine i add all components from foundation to concealer on my eyes, so i blend out any excess using my fingers and even it out. i then use a white or nude eyeshadow to lighten my entire eye from the undereye to below my eyebrow bone (mac discontinued hello kitty palette or colorpop baby got peach palette...slightly pinky nude or full on white is my vibe). i go in p hard in the underye bc i like my undereye looking like ive slept 99 hours in the past wk alone. then i use any eyeshadow i want to create any kind of look, usually to match my outfit or the days vibe. i like colorpop, too faced, mac, jaclyn hill, and juvias place palettes the most. after the eyeshadow is complete i go in w a setting powder (juvias place) w a heavy hand. i also go in w powder under blush area (below cheekbone), upper lip, chin, and forhead. i let that sit all the way until im done w my lips. after placing powder w powder puff, i do eyeliner w eyeshadow of any previously mentioned palettes. i then curl my lashes, put on mascara (hourglass caution extreme lash or telescopic blue tube), and curl again. i then clean up any mascara w more eyeshadow or concealer then eyeshadow if its p bad. i then place highlighter (colorpop shock) under my brow bone.
highlighter: i use the colorpop highlighter on my nose and cupids bow. then i use a bright pink highlighter (stick w me lol ik it sounds weird) (zeesea purple 9 color eyeshadow palette) on my cheekbone and nose.
lips: three steps: liner, tint, gloss. lip liner from elf to line my exact lip shape (sometimes i round out my cupids bow if its a cutesy look). lip tint from peripera to color my lips and keep the color on for a long time or elf o satin face lip stick to do the same thing. blend out w fingers after smacking lips together. then top w gloss/lip oil (nyx butter gloss, nyx fat lip oil, ecosoul lip oil, kopari gloss, maybelline lifter gloss, hello kitty lip smacker gloss).
blend out all powder on face and set w shitty milani setting spray
WHEW MY HANDS HURTTTT
but tbh i do sm bc i love makeup and have sm fun w it. tho w using this much ik im lucky to not have acne prone skin or skin that treats makeup like a parasite. i often take 2-4 day breaks when i have days off school and or weekends which helps. not to mention i use toner pads (numbuzin no.5) once to twice a wk and use a face mask (from any brand that use food ingredients as a main ingredient) weekly.
hope this helps!!!!! 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️💋
LORDY LORDY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS 🛐

Achieving a Radiant Complexion: A Simple Nighttime Skincare Regimen
In our fast-paced lives, it's easy to overlook the significance of a proper nighttime skincare routine. However, dedicating a few minutes before bedtime can make a world of difference in achieving healthy, glowing skin. Let's delve into a straightforward nighttime skincare routine that will leave you feeling pampered and your skin revitalized!
Tumblr media
Cleanse: The First Step to Radiance
The foundation of any effective skincare routine is cleansing. Before heading to bed, ensure your face is free from makeup, dirt, and pollutants that have accumulated throughout the day. Opt for a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type. Gently massage it onto your face using circular motions, focusing on areas prone to oiliness or dryness. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to preserve essential oils.
Recommendations:
Aprilskin Carrotene IPMP™ Hydromelt Cleansing Balm
JUNO & Co. Clean 10 Cleansing Balm 10 Ingredients Makeup Remover
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Facial Cleanser
Exfoliate: Unveiling a Fresh Canvas
Exfoliation is essential but limit it to 2-3 times a week to avoid overdoing it. A gentle exfoliant will remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and enhance the absorption of your skincare products. Look for products with natural exfoliants like jojoba beads or alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs).
Recommendations:
SkinMedica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant - Exfoliator
Paulas Choice--SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliant
Tone: Balancing the pH
After cleansing and exfoliating, toning comes into play. A toner helps balance the skin's pH levels and prepares it for better absorption of serums and moisturizers. Choose alcohol-free toners with soothing ingredients like rose water, chamomile, or witch hazel.
Recommendations:
PCA SKIN Nutrient Face Toner
THAYERS Alcohol-Free, Hydrating Lavender Witch Hazel Facial Toner
SOME BY MI AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner
Serum: Targeted Treatments
Serums are packed with potent ingredients that target specific skin concerns. Whether it's fine lines, hyperpigmentation, or dehydration, serums offer a concentrated boost of active ingredients. Gently apply a small amount to your face and neck, letting the serum work its magic overnight.
Recommendations:
COSRX Snail Mucin 96% Power Repairing Essence
Paula's Choice CLINICAL 1% Retinol Treatment
Derma ProGenix Advanced Anti-Aging Skin Care Serum
Eye Cream: Soothing and Refreshing
The delicate skin around the eyes requires special attention. Apply a nourishing eye cream to help reduce puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines. Use your ring finger to dab a pea-sized amount around the orbital bone gently.
Recommendations:
IMAGE Skincare, VITAL C Hydrating Eye Recovery Gel
Dongyu 5% Caffeine Eye Serum and Under Eye Roller Cream
QOI Dark Circle Eliminator
Hydrate: Locking in Moisture
Moisturizing is crucial to keep your skin hydrated and plump. Select a night cream or moisturizer that suits your skin type, whether it's gel-based for oily skin or thicker for dry skin. Massage it into your skin using upward strokes to promote better circulation.
Recommendations:
COSRX Snail Mucin 92% Moisturizer
Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance
PCA SKIN Collagen Hydrator Night Cream
Lip Care: Soft and Supple Lips
Don't forget to show your lips some love! Apply a nourishing lip balm or treatment to keep your lips soft and supple throughout the night.
Recommendation:
LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask
Overnight Mask or Face Oil: Nourishing and Repairing
For an extra boost of nourishment, consider using an overnight mask or face oil. These products provide intense hydration and repair your skin as you sleep, waking up to a fresh and revitalized complexion.
Hands and Feet: Extending Skincare Love
If you have a few extra minutes, pamper your hands and feet as well. Moisturize them with a rich cream and put on cotton gloves and socks before sleep, allowing the products to deeply penetrate and hydrate the skin.
Recommendations:
Paula's Choice Radiance Renewal Night Mask
LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask
Beauty Sleep: The Ultimate Secret
Finally, the most essential part of any nighttime skincare routine is a good night's sleep. Aim for 7-9 hours of uninterrupted rest to give your skin and body the time they need to repair and rejuvenate.
Remember, Consistency is Key!
The true magic of any skincare routine lies in consistency. Don't expect overnight miracles; instead, practice this easy nighttime skincare routine regularly and patiently, and you'll soon notice a radiant and healthy complexion that makes the effort entirely worthwhile.
So, go ahead and treat yourself to a little nightly skincare ritual – your skin will thank you for it!
P.S Highlighted are my personal favs

At night I wash my face with Cerave hydrating cleanser
I use two toners because as I've aged my skin likes problems. After I cleanse I use the ordinary aha toner and then inkey list pha toner
Then I use ordinary ferulic acid serum ( it's a little oily )
Then I finish with what makes my skin look radiant and smooth: The face theory regencalm 3% retinol S1 serum. The price pisses me off but my skin looks so nice every morning. It's the single thing that's changed my skin the most. Everything else is optional and specific to my skin.
In the morning I'll just rinse my face with water until I shower lol. My morning face routine is washing my face and then moisturising with inkey list peptide lotion and sunscreen when I leave the house. I don't really do much in the morning

Hi, Yvonne! Drop the skincare routine girl, don't gatekeep this. I need the recs.
Oooooh! You came to the right place, gorgeous! Okay. OKAY. So hyped for this! Like, it’s not my specialty since I’m not a dermatologist, so take this allllll with a grain of salt and your own situation in mind.
The main reminder I give you if you’re trying to actually be good to your skin is to DE-INFLUENCE your routine! There’s a lot of word and ads and influencers trying to promote and show off fancy and expensive products. You don’t need that entirely. Tune them out. Read the ingredients. Read the reviews. Try to get samples. Ask any sales associates, your own healthcare providers. Literally; Don’t let some glammed up doof on the internet tell you that you need some $40 toner that you’ll end up finishing within a month or two. Surprise surprise, they’re probably getting paid.
Hot take but it’s the same for the SPF hype. It’s fine and it’s great to be cautious, but for those with VERY sensitive skin that doesn’t handle a lot of products very well, you are ALLOWED to determine whether or not your SPF is doing more harm than good, and omit that from your routine if you have deduced it’s causing further irritation and adverse reactions. Either omit it, or only use it when you really need to, OR try to find one less taxing on the skin. DONT go nuts and go for the strongest stuff. Your bank account and skin will thank you.
The routine I follow is simple. Here’s the morning and evening routines!
Morning:
Non-foaming oat cleanser PHA+BHA toner that also hydrates! Niacinamide serum Hydrating moisturising cream with ceramides
Evening:
Remove make-up if needed with a micellar water+oil remover and cotton pad Non-foaming oat cleanser Blemish patches if needed The same moisturiser, OR a night cream that also hydrates
Occasionally I’ll do a sheet mask, clay mask, or even put on moisturizer and “slug” (putting on a more occlusive/protective product like petroleum jelly or Lush’s Ultrabland cleanser) (I’m not sponsored pls) (if anyone has a cheaper dupe that’s just as good, pls let me know, my wallet is sobbing) like, once or twice a week. Just be mindful of what your skin needs and can handle at the moment.
And for the love of god, do a patch test with your products first too. Some products will be marketed as gentle and high quality, but you’ll end up reacting to it like a madman out of NOWHERE. Test it first. Take it off if it starts to hurt or itch more than it normally should (if any).
We all have different situations, different sensitivities, and different strengths. This is my take, my routine, and it reflects my needs! So take it with a grain of salt, lovey! Hope this helps though.

favourite makeup products... i am a mascara girly always. vieve is my fav, but i like rare beauty's too. vieve in general is just a great brand <3

Complete Japanese and Korean Skincare Routine for Clear Skin?
Clean, healthy skin is as much a function of embracing the right system as it is a function of using the newest products on the market. Korean and Japanese skin care routine systems, as a consequence, have become so fabulously popular with so many of us in the last few years. All of the systems are more about prevention, hydration, and layering in an attempt to achieve lasting skin health.
Tumblr media
If you're having a hard time contrasting a Korean versus Japanese skin care routine, or combining the two worlds, this tutorial will take you through each step—and give you the best of Japan's beauty products, tried-and-tested regimens, and trendiest 2025 Korean skin care trends.
Start with a Double Cleanse Both the Japanese skin care routine and the Korean skin care routine highlight the double cleansing process. This includes:
Step 1: Oil Cleanser – Breaks down sunscreen, makeup, and excess oil.
Popular Japanese skincare products like DHC Deep Cleansing Oil and Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil are popular Japanese skin product substitutes. The Japanese skincare products efficiently remove the skin without disrupting the skin barrier.
The Korean skincare employs identical oil cleansers like Banila Co Clean It Zero to emulsify dirt.
Step 2: Foaming Cleanser or Gel and Water – One uses a foaming cleanser or a gel cleanser on the skin in order to rinse off any residual residue.
Japanese favorite skin care product Hada Labo Foaming Cleanser is loved due to its product being pH balanced.
COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is one of the Korean essentials because of its soothing ingredients.
This two-step routine is the foundation of routines and the key to clear, bright skin.
Light Exfoliation (2–3 Times per Week) Exfoliating eliminates dead cells and un-clogs pores. It is light but powerful in Japanese and Korean skincare.
Japanese exfoliants will choose the option of rice bran or enzymes. Cure Natural Aqua Gel, a number one best-selling product, is magic without cruelty.
Korean exfoliants like Some By Mi AHA-BHA-PHA Toner choose to use chemical exfoliants for cleaning deep without dryness.
This is for making your Japan skins silky, smooth in color and texture-free.
Hydrating Toner Whereas Western toners dry out your skin, Japanese and Korean skincare toners are more about the hydrating and readying your skin.
Japanese softeners, or toners like Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion, are highly hydrating and help with balancing your skin after cleansing.
Korean toners like Klairs Supple Preparation Toner are stacked with the best hydration and absorption.
This treatment allows all following products to penetrate more and function more effectively, the magic to any successful Japanese vs Korean skincare routine.
Essence: The Heart of Asian Skincare Essences are the unsung heroes of Asian skincare. Whether you’re following a Japanese skin care routine or Korean skin care routine, this is a must-have step.
Japanese essences like SK-II Facial Treatment Essence contain fermented ingredients that help with cell regeneration and moisturizing.
Korean skincare's COSRX Snail Mucin Essence is a thin consistency that helps repair damaged skin and leave your skin glowing.
They fill the space between your toner and serum, helping to moisturize deep within your skin and ready it.
Treatment Serums and Ampoules This is where your regimen gets customized. Whatever your concern, acne, dark spots, or wrinkles, both regimens have treatment products for the same.
Tumblr media
Japanese serums such as Melano CC Vitamin C Serum are popular for their brightening and spot-correcting properties.
Korean serums such as Missha Time Revolution Ampoule have firming and anti-aging properties.
They are loaded with active ingredients and are typically the highlight of Korean beauty and Japanese skincare routines.
Sheet Masks or Lotions (2–3 Times a Week) Sheet masks are the crowning glory of the Korean skincare regimen. They provide the skin with an intense dose of moisture and nutrients:
Korean sheet masks from Mediheal, Innisfree, or Etude House are extremely popular to treat various skin concerns.
Japanese skin care utilizes lotions (light moisturizing product as opposed to Western lotions), like Minon Amino Moist Lotion, which deeply moisturize and then condition your skin.
Both regimens leave dewy, radiant finish and promote relaxation—a ginormous portion of each culture's skin care.
Eye Cream for Gentle Treatment The skin below and around the eyes is thinner and more sensitive, so extra care needs to be taken.
In Japanese skincare, Shiseido eye creams fight puffiness and dark circles while not dehydrating the skin around the eyes.
Korean eye creams in products like Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream or Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream fight wrinkles and pigmentation of the skin under the eyes.
Eye creams are overlooked but actually a necessity in a good skincare routine.
Moisturizer to Seal It All Hydration is where beautiful skin starts. Both routines' moisturizers are designed to lock in each layer in front of it.
Japanese moisturizers such as Senka Deep Moist Gel and Curel Intensive Moisture Cream are weightless but intensely hydrating.
Korean moisturizers such as Laneige Water Bank Cream or Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream are most-loved staples due to their plumping and hydrating abilities.
This final step will be to moisturize your skin and maintain it soft during the day or at night.
Sun Protection (Day) or Sleeping Pack (Night) SPF is not an option in either of these day routines. UV damage is the #1 cause of aging and pigmentation.
Japanese sunscreens like Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence top the best-seller lists around the world because they are non-greasy and get absorbed quickly. Korean sunscreens like Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun are calming, soothing, and rich in skin-loving ingredients.
Korean sleeping masks like Laneige Water Sleeping Mask can be used overnight to deeply moisturize during sleep.
