truly horrific. not at all what i listen to so its a bit hard to say but def straight boy rap type shit. travis scott, drake (sirius listens to kendrick lamar and they fight over drake vs kendrick), yeat, bad bunny. idk it's a mess i fear. maybe he sometimes delves into more oldschool hiphop but then he reverts back to tiktok music :( i don't think peter has good taste in music. or rather, he knows about good music but wouldn't actively listen to that in his day to day life, rather just put on something mindnumbing

introduction to my marauders base reality ☆⋆｡𖦹°‧★

the girl: charlotte jane lupin (lola) ✩°｡⋆✮

twin sister of remus john lupin, everyone knows her for her love of books, the colour red and fleetwood mac. you could often find her in her Gryffindor common room hanging out with her best friends, Lily Evans, Marlene McKinnon and Mary Macdonald - probably listening to music on a record player they stole from Sirius Black. Her best subjects would probably be History of Magic, Divination and Charms- but her favourite would have definitely been astronomy. Like fate, her s/o is also left up to the whims of the planets- though emmeline vance catches her eye often. She has never liked the name Charlotte- so insists on being called Lola- though her mum still calls her Charlie.

the brother: remus john lupin (moony) ☽｡⋆

the one person lola can tell anything too. the one person remus has never hid anything from, because lola has been through is worst and best days alongside him. Being the boyfriend of sirius black , remus naturally loved queen, david bowie and T.Rex - but his mother had made sure his favourite form of entertainment was reading. Remus was a fan of taking his mind off things, as well as being the smartest in the room- so his default setting was studying- making him be the top in nearly every subject (much to Lola's annoyance). Though, if Remus had to pick a favourite- Defence against the Dark arts would be it.

the dorm: Marls, Mary and Lily ⋆ ˚｡⋆୨୧˚

Lola's best friends in the whole wide world were her gryffindor dorm mates. Lily Evans was her #1. Them and Remus would just sit and talk, or read, or study for hours on end and have the best time ever. Most nights Lola would climb into Lily's bed and they would just gossip, when the deep convos ran out, and look up at the four poster bed. Mary Macdonald was 'that girl'. The biggest girls' girl you could ever find- she would literally light up every room. Hanging out with her was always so fun, even when doing something as 'dull' as looking at magazines. She really was the glue of the valkyries- and helped organise every girls trip to Hogsmeade or birthday party. Marlene McKinnon, or Marls, was the coolest person Lola had ever met - including Sirius Black. Being a beater on the quidditch team was enough, but the way she dressed and the effortless way she did everything solidified it. Marlene McKinnon was the first to say when something was unfair and you knew when she was advocating for something it would happen.

the boys: james, peter, sirius and remus 𖤓✩☽𖦹

James Potter, Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black were Remus Lupins dorm mates- and best friends. James Potter , was possibly the sun of everyone's lives. The most selfless person Lola knew, but still somehow goofy and a jock at the same time. James Potter loved a lot of things, but charms, his mum, his mum's signature curry and Regulus Black were at the top. James' brother in all ways but blood was Sirius Black. The second coolest person Lola knew. His ability to simultaneously care desperately about what everyone thought of him whilst also not giving two shits was deeply hilarious to Lola- but overall thought her brother had good taste, and approved. Sirius was the smartest person Lola knew who didn't have to work for it at all- preferring to frolic around the grounds as a dog- or annoy Remus, Lily and Lola whilst they worked. Peter Pettigrew (pete), was the funniest person Lola knew, and secretly her favourite of Remus' best mates. Peter was the one to give James and Sirius stomach pains from laughing at the back of transfiguration, and Lola often thought it was a shame for him that he didn't get to experience hearing himself tell a story- as she never laughs harder. Peter also was brilliant at Art- managing to convince Hogwarts to add the extra curricular to the spec to achieve his childhood dream of creating cartoons for the daily prophet.

House of the Rising Suns

Info post about my Marauders era fanfic! It will be edited and added to as things about it change, so if you plan to regularly read, I suggest checking in every once in a while to see if something's changed.

It is a fic starting in 1971 and ending 1981 following the Marauders, the Slytherin Skittles, and the Valkyries through their journey through Hogwarts and the First Wizarding War. I don't yet know if it is cannon compliment or not, but I will figure it out with time. For the shippers out there --- Endgame ships: Wolfstar (Remus and Sirius), Jily (James and Lily), Dorlene (Dorcas and Marlene), Rosekiller (Evan and Barty), Fralice (Frank and Alice), the Lovegoods (I don't actually know their ship name, but it's Pandora and Xenophillious). --- Ships in the story: Jegulus (James and Regulus), Marylily (Mary and Lily), Pandalily (Pandora and Lily), Remus and Marlene, Sirius and Mary, and characters with OCs that I've added (none of them will be endgame or treated like well known and endgame ships, they're all destined to end eventually).

Jegulus, personally I think Jegulus is a very important thing for James’ growth and for Regulus to distance himself from his family’s ideals, but I also don’t think it could ever last. It will probably be a 5th-6th year arc and they break up after Regulus gets the Mark beginning of James' 7th.

Endgame Jily because their story is one of my favorites, and if I do make it a canon compliment ,then I would need to write it with natural progression. Also I just love Jily.

Get ready for a lot of 70's music. It becomes a big deal when Lily brings her record player in second year and then when Queen debuts in 1973 and Sirius falls in love.

I’m on the fence about making it a canon compliment because I choose to be HAPPY, but I don’t need to make that decision now and so I won’t (also I like the idea that Peter is good, screw me)

Aroace Peter, my little boy loves his friends and doesn’t understand why he doesn’t love like they do. A dating spree probably in 5th year but he just cannot figure out how to do the romance thing.

Asexual Lily, to whoever HCed that, can I marry you? I love ace Lily and I think it just adds an arc to her story that is normally extremely sexualized. My girl will punch you in the face if you look even a tiny bit lower than her eyes.

*Side note* Lily's taste is also so funny. Like it goes: badass, rolemodel, stunning woman to badass, loving, protective, also stunning woman to badass, ethereal, insane, overwhelmingly beautiful woman to that one guy over there making love eyes and doing finger guns. God I love Jily so much. *End of side note*

Asexual Regulus. I am sick and tired of seeing Jegulus being completely sexualized in every single piece of content I encounter. I firmly believe their story can be extremely compelling and beautiful without falling into sexual stereotypes and just literally making everything about them sexual. All that aside, being asexual makes a lot of sense for Regulus' character, in my opinion. I want to make it clear I'm not doing this just to change Jegulus, I genuinely believe that Regulus' character is compelling with him being asexual, and I don't see a lot of asexual representation in the marauders fandom, so why not add in something good? (There'll be a lot more to Regulus' character though, trust me.)

marauders headcannons because there’s never enough of them

Remus Lupin was Welsh and had a thick accent during his first year and after being asked to repeat himself one to many times, he started trying to lose the accent infavour of the London accent his fellow dorm-mates sported (although there was always a hint there and it came back full force when he was mad, sad, really tired, or really drunk)

The marauders kinda forget he was Welsh until they visited him and stayed with his family over the 1976 summer on their hillside cottage

The first thing Sirius Black did after running away was purchase a leather jacket.

Sirius never wore wizard clothing unless required.

James Potter adored his parents and soaked in everyone of their beliefs from a young age, inheriting their hate for the Dark Arts and Slytherins

James hated Snape for is involvement with the Dark Arts

Peter Pettigrew begged the sorting hat to put him in Gryffindor in order to impress his parents

He was a half-blood but lacked knowledge of the muggle world as his father was muggle-born and never thought to immerse Peter into muggle culture

Remus Lupin knew the most about muggles out the marauders as his mother was a muggle. He was frequently baffled by how little his friends knew about the muggle world and would use that to his advantage

Remus and Lily once convinced James, Sirius, and Peter that Coca-Cola was a fancy muggle drink that only the wealthy could afford and that muggles frequently added a small pellet called ‘Mentos’ to their drink to make it taste better

So when Remus and Lily decided to take the boys into muggle London, they begged the two to try Coca-Cola and Mentos

Needless to say, they were not happy when the drink exploded all over them but later they laughed it off

Lily and Remus were friends first, and she frequently asked Remus why he hung out with James and Sirius as they were so immature and Remus would then question why she was friends with Snape as he was a bigot

Sirius Black started smoking in third year to piss his parents off and forced the marauders to try it one night and they all coughed their lungs raw

James refused to smoke anything again in his entire life but eventually caved in a year latter when Remus introduced them to weed

Sirius and James never studied, they could hear something once and remember it for life

They were also very sharp and could draw connections between concepts easily (hence them figuring out Remus was a Werewolf)

James and Peter were team Beatles, Sirius and Remus were team Rolling Stones

They had made a bet in sixth year about what team Lily was

She was team Rolling Stones and James and Peter owed about five galleons to Remus and Sirius

James read muggle newspapers and kept up with muggle politics to try and have conversations with Lily

Lily secretly found it endearing

James and Sirius had a competition to see who could get the most detentions in fourth year. Once the teachers caught on to what they were doing, they stopped giving detentions to the boys and just started taking points

Lily was the first person to find out about Sirius and Remus

Remus and Lily would frequently rant about their boyfriends and made jokes about how they were only in it for the money
