honest perverts review, this album is a perfect album, for listeners who love long length songs, and want to be disturbed, but in a beautiful way. when it comes to music, i don’t really listen to instrumental music, with light singing/harmonizing in it, but since preachers daughter came out with both televangelism and august underground, i started enjoying it more, and with this album coming out, and having listened to it, i’ve grown to love it. and what i appreciate and love about this album, is the light, but heavy sounds of the instruments, and snippets of talking from videos and audios, which hayden seems to include with preachers daughter as well. the songs on this album that stood out to me, and would be considered my favorites already have to be thatorchia and etienne.

admittedly, this time i kinda cheated by finally figuring out how the FlipNote's camera function works...

To everybody saying this album is her entering her inner nicole dollanganger,or her dark era, its just not. In one of her videos she said that she plans to be a film maker, and by this album i can tell shell be amazing at it ,the sounds are so creepy and unsettling, its really amazing how she does it.

But this isnt music, 70% of the album was just distorted noises, like a fan or a blow dryer, and she barely sang, it was mostly spoken. The only songs that actually have an understandable melody are punish and amber waves, which are great songs, but the rest of it...is litearally not music. I love her and shes my favourite artist but most of this was just her or somebody else talking over weird noises. And to everybody saying this is going to clense her fanbase, thaths just stupid, becouse y is it wrong for a fan to want of their favourite artists to make actual songs, that they have made thru their entire career...

And dont get me wrong ,the album is cool and has a deep and disturbing story, the lyrics and the stories are beautiful and im shure she had a lot of fun making it and i love that for her, i really do, but this just wasnt it.

i don’t think i am mentally prepared for punish or perverts. i say i know what to expect but i don’t. i am so lost with everything. i just read the lore (all her songs not just pd) and I listen (obviously) and agree with the feelings in my body. the aches and pains i get while listening to ethel. so just a heads up..don’t ask me how i am when they get released cause i won’t even know myself. i can barley tell someone how i feel cause it’s so complicated. hayden, if you see this, i love those short stories you post. they make my feelings be heard and understood. feelings are so complex and i hate it. i hate not being able to express myself.
