What would your life be like if money wasn’t a problem?

Oh the world wide problem that everyone struggles with. I wish that money wasn’t a thing and don't hold as much power as it does. If money wasn’t a problem this world would be a much better place. But let's get creative and picture what my life would be like if money wasn’t a problem.

I would live somewhere by the beach. Actually I would have a beach house and then have a cabin somewhere in the mountains. But that’s not where I would live. No, I would live on my dog farm. A dog farm is my all time dream, I would love nothing more than to get rid of all shelters and pounds to save all the dogs in this world. I wouldn’t just have dogs on the farm, oh no I would have a full blown farm with every animal that you could think of. I would like a private jet so that I can travel around the whole world saving all dogs and animals in need of help. All the fancy cars to trace them safely to their new lovely homes. I would let my whole family live on the farm and choose whatever animals they want to keep as their own. They would have their own beach houses, their own mountain houses, their planes, whatever they would want because money is not a problem in this dream world.

With money not being a problem there would be no celebrities, no world hunger, no insane amount of gas prices, groceries, and inflation. Everyone would be equals and we would all live in harmony without any judgment because everyone gets to choose what they want to do in their life with all the money in the world. Oh what life would be like if the number one struggle in the world was never a problem.

NOVEMBER RAIN

Saying hello to November, I am so grateful that I achieved my production goal in the month of October. I have successfully published a blog where I wrote an article educating Gender Roles and Equal Rights in dating/marriage by using my applied knowledges in Sociology and real-life experiences that I observed in this world. All the research I conducted were not endorsed by any party, I did everything and invested all my time alone out of passion. I worked all day and night to some point my parent had to remind me to take a break from the computer but I just couldn't, I realised I am a workaholic when it comes to doing something I am truly passionate about. There's no stop in between, it felt like a drug. It was so addictive to work and get things done, I guess that's why it only took me 5 days to write that article. And the best part is many people I know actually agreed on my stand in this issue after they read the article, it's a good feeling when you have spoken for the voiceless. By mid-october things were pretty chill for me, it was raining a lot and anyone who knows me personally will know that this is my favourite weather, I was drawing a lot too. However, Malaysia is currently going through another wave of the COVID-19 outbreak which is a very big deal considering our country was previously praised for its recovery from the virus therefore this put us back to the main SOPs and encouraging us to "#StayAtHome". At the same time, end-october was the best for me when I took advantage of staying at home during CMCO (Conditional Movement Control Order) by mastering the kitchen and enhancing my cooking skill. I am extremely happy and feel really good about myself after I cook something or whenever I discover a new dish. I have been cooking continuously everyday for the past week : I made breakfast, lunch, prepped dessert/snack, dinner. Within a week I made my very own mushroom soup from scratch, pasta, tortilla, popsicles and more. I feel so proud of myself for being productive because I obviously cleaned all the dishes and cooking utensils I used. I have been making frequent trips to the grocery shop but anyone who knows me long enough agree that my fav kind of shopping has actually always been grocery shopping (aside trip to the bookstore to buy books hehe) because there is just something about browsing the supermarket that gives me joy. The cereal section, buying dairy-free ingredients, snacks, fresh fruits and the list goes on. I cannot wait to see what November have for me in store, I am looking forward as we enter a new month.

Do You Still Want Eggs?

I have left all social media.  I just can’t place my life under the microscope like that any more. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t want to, or I am afraid of the scrutiny that follows wearing your heart on your sleeve, or maybe because I like to be shut off from everyone, social introvert, or simply I’m just too lazy for the upkeep. Either way - it’s gone and it kind of feels good. Kind of. I can’t lie, I do miss the connections with people - but upholding those connections was simply too much. It felt like I had 1000 strands of rope in my hand. Each so big I can barely hang on. And when a rope slipped -  I felt like a failure. Like I had let someone down that was counting on me to be present for them. The lack of that aspect though, the lack of expectation is what leaves me putting the phone down and not showing everyone how awesome my life is.

Or is it?

I mean, I guess that’s where the battle lies now.

In celebration of #hugaplumberday I remember an episode in #blackish where Dre and his wife, Rainbow, had an argument about their younger son's (Jack) future career. In that episode, Jack picked interest in plumbing and it bothered his father, Dre. He was bothered because he doesn't want his son to be seen as a plumber thereby giving people the chance to insult or overlook him. Both parents came to the conclusion that they will support their son no matter the path he chooses. We get to see that plumbing is not a bad job after all. It's a wonderful thing that women are also learning it. It's not a job to overlook because without them, we will be: washing our plates outside, having our bath outside and defecating in the bush. A small fault with any pipe is a big disaster. A small leak in a pipe is a damage. They are always there to save the day. I would have said give a plumber a hug but the world isn't safe because of #covid19. So, I would like you to leave a word for plumbers. I don’t know about you, but when this whole pandemic fiasco began, I didn’t believe for a second that it would last this long. I remember back in December when my friend was telling me about this crazy virus in China – I thought she was crazy for even entertaining the idea that it would reach us. Let alone the whole world. But here we are, 10 months later. Over half a year in and out of lock-down – And it doesn’t seem it will be ending any time soon. •

Just like everything else in life, also this lock-down has many ups and downs. Pros and cons. Like me, I’m sure that there are many other singles out there trying to cope with this whole mess alone.
