5 Reasons To Visit Wellness Resort Palazzo di Verignana
Wellness and peace of mind are two prized goals for travelers, especially after two years of turmoil. Palazzo di Verignana in the Italian hillside outside of Bologna is the ideal place to find both. While many Americans may not exchange jet lag for a short wellness break, this foodie and spa resort is worth considering as part of a larger European vacation. A few days here to recharge will have…

Brainwash yourself with good habits. You need to do it the way you would train a dog - fetch the stick and get a treat.
I love listening to music but I also wanted to start listening to podcasts. I have to go to work everyday, and I prefer to drive myself to work and back.
I know that if I make myself listen to podcasts both drives, the habit will last not more than 3 days.
But if I make myself listen to a podcast on the way to work; and listen to my favourite music on the way back home to de-stress and relax; now that’s a healthy compromise. And it works for the long term.
The same goes with social media. I deleted all social media from my phone. I don’t have Facebook, Instagram, or even tumblr on my phone. The YouTube account that I keep on my phone has been very consciously kept; I only allow the algorithm to show me educational stuff like podcasts, history videos, news, psychology, stuff like that. Absolutely no entertainment. I keep all my social media (and my “fun” YouTube account which is basically Korean mukbangs and all sorts of useless beauty hauls that I honestly love to watch) on another device - my iPad, which I use for work. I check out what’s happening on tumblr or YouTube or Pinterest when it’s my lunch break or a coffee break. That’s another healthy compromise that works for me.
Going cold turkey with anything - stopping something addictive like smoking or drinking or suddenly starting a plethora of new habits- doesn’t work. You’ve restricted your mind and body so much that you keep remember the good old days where you drank like a whale and sat on the couch watching rubbish and you glamorise, romanticise and reminisce those times. Now you’re in that dangerous red zone where you know that if you see that bottle or the packet of chips, your body is going to reach for it before your mind can intervene.
Aim for long-term, sustainable albeit small habits, rather than complex overnight habits.

the fandom always talks about sam being the bad guy because he didn’t listen to his “very supportive, very understanding family” (dean and bobby), and didn’t stop using his powers. i think we should start talking about the fact that dean didn’t listen to bobby when bobby asked him to get through to sam and not push him away (like john did) and dean doing exactly the latter (and provoking their fight in 4.21) because he was too mad at sam

Become Your Best Version Before 2025 - Day 16
Digital Detox and Mindful Living
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today, let's talk about something we all struggle with: our relationship with our devices. You know the drill: endless scrolling, bouncing between apps, answering notifications like your phone’s your boss. It’s exhausting! I’ve been there, too. One moment, I’m looking up a recipe; the next, I’m deep in a rabbit hole watching “hot girl morning routine” vlogs or reviews of the trendiest Stanley cup dupes.
And then I’m left wondering, where did my time go?
But this isn't about making you feel guilty or telling you to throw your phone away. Instead, let's explore how to create a healthier balance between our online and offline lives.
Simple Ways to Start
When it comes to digital wellness, small changes can make a big difference:
Put your phone in another room while you sleep
Turn off non-essential notifications
Use grayscale mode on your phone (it makes those colorful apps less tempting!)
Set specific times to check social media instead of constant scrolling
Creating Phone-Free Zones
Choose spaces in your life where phones aren't invited:
During meals
The first hour after waking up
While having coffee or tea
In conversations with friends
Your bedroom (or at least not right next to your bed)
Mindful Moments
Replace mindless scrolling with mindful activities:
Take three deep breaths before checking your phone
Look out the window instead of at your screen during breaks
Notice the sounds around you while walking
Feel the warmth of your coffee cup in the morning
Observe the colors and shapes in your environment
Screen Time Swaps
For every digital habit, create a fulfilling alternative:
Instead of morning scrolling → journaling or stretching
Instead of bedtime TikTok → reading or gentle stretching
Instead of lunch break Instagram → eating mindfully
Instead of endless news scrolling → reading one quality article fully
The Art of Being Present
Practice presence in simple ways:
Notice the taste and temperature of your food
Feel the sensation of water on your skin while washing your hands
Listen to the sounds in your environment
Observe your breath for a few moments
Feel your feet connecting with the ground as you walk
Creating Better Digital Habits
Make technology work for you:
Use app timers to limit social media use
Schedule "do not disturb" hours
Organize apps by purpose, not habit
Delete apps that don't add value to your life
Move social media apps off your home screen
Reconnecting with Reality
Fill your offline time with meaningful activities:
Start a hobby that uses your hands
Have face-to-face conversations
Spend time in nature
Write letters to friends
Cook a meal from scratch
Read physical books
Practice drawing or coloring
Your Daily Digital Detox Plan
Start small with these daily practices:
Morning: Wait 30 minutes before checking your phone
Work: Take regular screen breaks (try the 20-20-20 rule)
Evening: Set a digital sunset time
Bedtime: Create a phone-free bedtime routine
The goal isn't to eliminate technology, it's to use it intentionally.
Today's Challenge
Choose ONE phone-free zone to implement
Try a 10-minute mindful activity instead of scrolling
Notice how you feel during and after this change
Every moment you choose presence over distraction is a gift to yourself. You don't have to be perfect, just a little more mindful each day.
See you tomorrow for Day 17!

Stop with the self deprecation.
Stop talking about how inevitably fucked your future is. Stop calling yourself stupid. Stop apologizing for nothing. Stop making jokes about how much you suck and how little you deserve. Stop making memes where the butt of the joke is that you're pathetic or inept or otherwise 'not enough.' Stop reblogging posts on being chronically online and actually put down that phone. Is there anything else you could be doing at this time? Please take a break from tumblr and do it.

Hiiiiiii! I don't know how to title this, so I'm just going to get into it. I know I've talked about going through University and how that's kept me from doing any voice work for the past couple years (and that's true, but I mean... I've been in University for a long time now, and I wanted to get into the reasons for that).
I've mentioned this before on this account, but I've been struggling with borderline personality disorder (BPD), social phobia, PTSD, constant nightmares, and related hard drug and alcohol addictions since around 2014. Sometimes things got better, oftentimes they got worse. I quit cocaine in 2016 and crystal meth in early-mid 2017, but never quite kicked alcohol (the worst one imo, because it's dangerous to quit it cold turkey -- that one can kill you).
So I'm writing this from a detox centre right now, pumped full of valium and clonidine so I don't die from liquor withdrawal seizures or sudden cardiac death.
Everyone here complains about it (and the food does totally suck lmao), but the centre is actually pretty great! At least compared to the first one I went to in Alberta back in 2016, and I'm only here for a week. Detox is different from rehab -- it's basically a short term medical thing where they have nurses and doctors on staff to make sure alcohol withdrawals don't kill you. I've had several related seizures in the past, and every time you have one of those, your risk of having another rises, so I'm at high risk and they're monitoring me carefully.
So yeah, that's why I haven't been around much. Going through a lot. I'll get more into the reasons for it all sometime, as well as the follow-up steps I'll be taking for mental health and addiction maintenance.
Also, during my more stable/good days, I will be getting back into voice acting. It's one of my favourite art forms and it means a lot to me! I miss that part of myself and getting to share it with people!
***EDIT: Oh, yeah, and in the meantime, I've been spending more time on my personal blog manicpixiedreamtwink.
(There isn't any voice work over there, it's kind of just a personal update/aesthetic/meme/poetry/art inspiration sort of place! I try not to romanticize anything dire in terms of mental health, but I do discuss my own experiences with BPD, OCD, trauma, etc., so fair warnings for that!)

☞ Embrace Mutual Effort:
🪷 Feeling like you’re always the one initiating contact or keeping the conversation alive? It might be time to question the balance in your friendships. True friends engage with enthusiasm and genuinely invest in each other’s lives. Let go of one-sided efforts and cherish those who make friendship a shared journey.
☞ Joy Over Doubt:
🪷 Friendships should bring joy, not doubt. If interactions leave you drained or questioning your worth, it’s a clear signal. Seek out those who uplift you, share in your happiness, and offer comfort during tough times. Life’s too short for anything less than meaningful and reciprocal bonds.
☞ Growth Through Change
🪷 As we evolve, so do our needs from friendships. Clinging to past connections for the sake of history alone can hold you back. Embrace the growth that comes with change, and make room for new relationships that resonate with who you are today.
☞ The Gift of Reciprocity
🪷 Take note of friends who are present only in times of need but disappear when you’re the one in need. True friendship involves mutual support and generosity, not convenience. You deserve a circle that’s there for you, in both giving and receiving.
☞ Solitude Over Insincerity
🪷 The fear of solitude can sometimes keep us in unfulfilling friendships. However, embracing your own company can be more rewarding than enduring insincerity. This period of reflection can pave the way for genuine connections that celebrate your true self.
☞ Celebrate Shared Success
🪷 Consider the dynamics in friendships that feel more competitive than supportive. Genuine friends rejoice in each other’s successes without envy. Surround yourself with people who are genuinely happy for you and encourage your aspirations.
☞ Courage to Choose Well-being
🪷 Letting go of friendships that no longer serve you is not a failure; it’s a courageous step towards prioritizing your well-being and emotional health. It opens the door to discovering more authentic and supportive connections.
☞ Respect and Understanding
🪷 If you’re holding onto relationships that consistently undermine your feelings or disregard your boundaries, it’s a sign to reassess. You deserve friends who respect you, listen sincerely, and acknowledge your feelings as valid. True connections are built on mutual respect and understanding.

I know the way the universe works is it rewards you for always expecting the absolute worst outcome so much you grieve twice and never celebrate (obviously, as we all know) but for some reason this mechanic seems to be bugged and I'm doing the input but the reward code isn't being triggered? Has anyone else had this issue? Maybe I should try optimism and see if that fixes it
