(3/54) “It’s been forty-three years since I’ve seen my home. All I have left is a jar of soil. It’s good soil. Nahavand is a city of gardens. A guidebook once called it ‘a piece of heaven, fallen to earth.’ The peaks are so high that they’re capped with snow. A spring gushes from the mountain, and flows into a river. It spreads through the valley like veins. We lived in the deepest part of the valley, the most fertile part. Our father owned thousands of acres of farmland. When we were children he gave us each a small plot of land to plant a garden. None of the other children had the discipline. They’d rather play games. But I planted my seeds in careful rows. I hauled water from a nearby well. I pulled every weed the moment it appeared. As the poets say: ‘If you cannot tend a garden, you cannot tend a country.’ My garden was the best; it was plain for all to see. The discipline came from my mother. She was very devout. She prayed five times a day. Never spoke a bad word, never told a lie. My father was a Muslim too, but he drank liquor and played cards. He’d wash his mouth with water before he prayed. The Koran was in his library. But so were the books of The Persian Mystics: the poets who spent one thousand years softening Islam, painting it with colors, making it Iranian. Back then it was a big deal to own even a single book, but my father had a deal with a local bookseller. Whenever a new book arrived in our province, it came straight to our house. I’ll never forget the morning I heard the knock on the door. It was the bookseller, and in his hands was a brand-new copy of Shahnameh. The Book of Kings. It’s one of the longest poems ever written: 50,000 verses. The entire story of our people. And it’s all the work of a single man: Abolqasem Ferdowsi. Shahnameh is a book of battles. It’s a book of kings and queens and dragons and demons. It’s a book of champions called to save Iran from the armies of darkness. Many of the stories I knew by heart. Everyone in Iran knew a few. But I’d never seen them all in one place before, and in a beautiful, leather-bound edition. The book never made it to my father’s library. I brought it straight to my room.”

(This is my first Time requesting On tumblr so Sorry if I say something wrong.) can I request a Record Of Ragnarok Leonidas x reader..? Where The reader is The Younger Sister Of Apollo and Acts exactly like him. (Hope this is good, I usually say a lot but I don’t want to overwhelm anybody so I try to keep it a little.)
➸ The Sister of Apollo; Leonidas × S/O
Characters: Leonidas A/N: Artemis' design goes to diyuxii on instagram! No clue on Reader's dress and crown though! Comment if you do know! And don't worry, you're doing fine on requesting! And this was an amazing request, loved the idea and had a lot of fun writing it! And don't feel overwhelmed, I'm not exactly the judgy type. Mistakes are mistakes. Hope you like this though <3 ➥ Summary: When the younger sister of Apollo takes a walk on Earth and comes across a Spartan army, will a seed of love begin to grow between mortal and immortal?
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
Tumblr media
╚═════ Leonidas ══════════════════════════════╝
🚬 The one day you got free from your duties, you decided to go down to Earth. It always fascinated you, how these mortals lived without any worry of their safety despite being weak to everything surrounding them in some way
🚬 As you walked around the gorgeous forest, you felt the warmth of the sun that your brother, Apollo, ruled over. You had been spoiled rotten by the God for years, and it only got doubled with your older sister, Artemis
🚬 She may be busy with her own duties most of the time, but whenever she was free, she'd come by and mess around with you and her younger brother. Artemis was an amazing sister and Apollo was an amazing brother, but even you needed some space
🚬 Smiling as you heard a bird sing above you, your hand reached out. The small White-Wagtail chirped as you let it rub its feathery-head on your cheek lovingly. This was a normal thing that happened everywhere you went, as you were a Goddess of Nature
🚬 The people of Greece whom worshiped you had given you a specific name, that being Γυναίκα του Αιθέριου, or Mulier aetherei, which both translate to Woman of the Ethereal
🚬 So to sum it up, you were hailed for your beauty and connection to nature. Unique, I know.
🚬 It was when you let the bird fly off that you heard the yells of men from a couple miles away. Your eyebrows furrowed in concern before you shape-shifted into a Pallid Swift and flew off at the fastest speed your wings could take you
🚬 You reached the edge of the woods, finding a battle. You knew whom was fighting by how they looked; it was the Greek Spartans and the Persians Warriors. Eyes began to trail from the battle, and you caught the eyes of their leader, Xerxes
🚬 He gasped and yelled for his men to back away, but you already landed between the forces. Underneath your now-clawed foot, a Persian soldier squirmed in agony. He could feel your claws digging into his ribs and stomach, and anyone who has felt your rage would agree that your anger was something that was far from painless
"King Xerxes. Unless you wish to lose both your entire army and your life, then go home." You warned, malice in your tone as you sadistically dug your claws deeper into the male's chest.
🚬 His screams of pain caused the King to looked at him and back up at you in fear. King Xerxes then looked at his men and yelled for them to retreat, but not before yelling he would get his vengeance on Leonidas soon
🚬 You released the Persian man from your grip and told him to run before turning around to looked at your Greek people. They looked at you in shock. Your stories always told of beauty unmatched, but that was an understatement in their eyes
🚬 The long, translucent sleeves of your top lightly moved in the wind with your long dress bottom. Leonidas looked at you from a distance and felt his heart racing. You were a Goddess, you must have had much more important things to handle then saving their asses in battle!
🚬 The King of Spartans walked up to you, laying his weapon and shield securely nearby as he looked into your eyes. They sparkled golden as you smiled, asking if he and his men were okay from the battle and if they needed to find a good spot to camp for the night before returning home
"It would be of no problem, King Leonidas. I assure you of that." You said.
"You are sure of this?" He asked to confirm.
"But of course! Why would I lie to such an accomplished man such as yourself?"
🚬 Leonidas nodded and grabbed his stuff, yelling for his men to follow your form back to a secure location for the next couple days. They all nodded and followed you into the forest to where you were with the White-Wagtail just a couple hours prior
🚬 Landing back onto the soft grass, you told the men some things that they could use to make their nests to rest in. They thanked you and did as you directed. And as they made the perfect huts to sleep in that night, Leonidas watched as you pet a nearby wild horse. It happily accepted your pets and apple that you picked from a tree while traveling with the Spartans
🚬 The way you were so gentle, yet dangerous made Leonidas yearn. Yearn to understand you, to get to know you. But for now, he had to take some baby Spartan steps. After all, the last human to double-cross you faced the wrath of your brother and sister. And that was something Leonidas would rather not face while his people needed him
══✿══╡
🚬 When you finally decided to go back home, you were surprised to see both Apollo and Artemis standing outside. Their arms were crossed as they looked around impatiently, it was obvious they had been waiting for a while
"Where have you been, young lady?" Artemis asked.
"Just out." You said, feigning an innocent tone.
"Just out? Oh please, I've used that excuse so many times with mom that it's powerless against me." Apollo voiced.
🚬 You groaned and rolled your eyes. You knew that a mere vague-reason wasn't going to pass this time. And that just annoyed you. If they knew you were with a human, they'd have a cow!
"I- I came across some humans and spoke to them. I also helped them find somewhere to stay for the next few days while preparing for another battle. That cannot be a crime!" You said.
"Divine intervention?! Do you know how angry Zeus could get from that happening without his notification?" Artemis questioned, her voice slightly raising as you looked away in shame.
🚬 You had forgotten just how angry your lead God could get if he wasn't notified about some things. But, he was your father, so he wouldn't get that mad with you... right?
🚬 Artemis sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose before running her hand through her hair. She looked at you with her normal, stoic expression and just said she was going to get some shut-eye in her room
🚬 Apollo looked back at you and reached for your head. He pulled out a leaf that laid there. But, on that leaf was a strand of hair, black-turning-grey, to be specific
"Just don't let him hurt you, okay, little sister?"
"Okay, big brother." You said.

Ancient Roman Marble Statue Depicting a Nymph Found in Turkey
Excavations in the ancient city of Amastris, located in the Black Sea province of Bartın’s Amasra district, have unearthed a statue of a nymph thought to be 1800 years old. The artifact is set to be exhibited in the Amasra Museum soon.
Amasra’s coast was host to the Phoenician colony, Sesamus, in the 12th century B.C. The colony’s heyday was during the rule of Iranian Princess Amastris. It was among the most important of the Byzantine fortress harbors on the south shore of the Black Sea.
The site of the excavation was donated to the Ministry of National Education in 2014 and construction started for the building of a school on the land in 2017 when some remains believed to belong to the Roman period were discovered, upon which the construction works were stopped and the area was taken under protection.
Tumblr media
Excavations are carried out under the direction of the Amasra Museum Directorate and the scientific consultancy of Bartın University.
During the excavations carried out under the direction of Amasra Museum Director Zübeyde Kuru, a statue of a water nymph, thought to be 1800 years old, was found 3 meters below the surface.
In the statement made on the social media account of the Excavations and Research Department of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the following statements were made:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“In our excavations in Bartın, Amasra, Gymnasium, a 1.53-centimeter-high statue belonging to the 2nd century AD and considered to be a Nymphe (water nymph) was unearthed.”
Situated in the ancient region of Paphlagonia, the original city seems to have been called Sesamus and it was mentioned by Homer.
The place derived its name Amastris from Amastris, the niece of the last Persian king Darius III, who was the wife of Dionysius, tyrant of Heraclea, and after his death the wife of Lysimachus.
Amastris (ca. 340/39-285/84), was first married to Craterus, then to Dionysius of Heraclea, and finally to Lysimachus. She was the mother of four known children; was supposedly divorced when Lysimachus married Arsinoe; Amastris founded an eponymous city in Paphlagonia; she was the first queen to issue coins in her name; and was allegedly murdered by her sons for interfering in their affairs.

Future Haikaveh inspired by this fic I wrote🌙💕 Some notes about their outfits below:
Kaveh:
He’s a diy king that makes henna paste and cones himself send tweet
Big fan of him growing out his hair when he gets his life in order. Something something freedom and letting go of regret
The necklace was inspired by Persian architecture and the pattern in Kaveh’s attack animation.
Kamarband: rubies are believed to offer safety and peace
Also my headcanon is that Kaveh’s feather was a gift from his mom before she left for Fontaine
Alhaitham:
The earring is the word ‘love’ in Arabic
I think his ahoge should react to his emotions sksksk. He’s a lovesick fool it’s so embarrassing
The changes to his designs were relatively minor, I’ll make a proper future design for him one day <3

my personal hc is that martin forces jon to watch all of the films (extended version) like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Start ID: 9 crudely drawn doodles of Jon and Martin from the Magnus Archives. Jon is a thin Persian man with shoulder length curly hair, a beard, and rectangular glasses. He's wearing a t shirt and sweatpants. Martin is a fat mixed Polish/Korean man with wavy hair kind of styled in a modern mullet. He's wearing browline glasses, a t shirt and sweatpants, and has a beauty mark under his lip. 1st image: Text says "Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition)" above Jon's head and he looks forward in horror. A line buzzes past him and cracks at the end, with the sound effect "glass shatters sfx". 2nd image: Jon attempts to get up but Martin's arm shoots in front of him. 3rd image: Close up of Martin from a downward angle, he looks down menancingly at Jon and says "Sit. Back. Down." You can see his breath as he says it. In the bottom corner, Jon has big dewy eyes that are pleading for mercy.
4th image: Martin is holding a crudely drawn gun to Jon's head as they sit on the sofa together, Martin has his other arm around Jon's shoulder and Jon looks mildly terrified and sweaty (mostly due to the impending film). 5th image: One half of Jon's face is shown, he apprehensively says "H-how long did you say this was...". 6th image: One half of Martin's face is shown and he blankly responds, "3 hours. I made popcorn...".
7th image: The film is presumably over. Jon looks deep fried, he has many creases under his eyes and his hair is a mess, an arrow pointing says his eyes are bloodshot. He proclaims with heavy sarcasm, "Wow! What a great movie!". He thinks to himself, "Jesus Christ, I'm glad that's over." 8th image: Martin smirks and says, "Hah! Just wait until the next one. It's a trilogy." In the bottom, Martin sits on the sofa with a fanged smile. Jon is laying on the ground in the Family Guy death pose with an artificially big butt. 9th image: Text above says "Return of the King (Extended Edition)". Martin has presumably made Jon watch all the movies at once. Jon looks like a husk of a dried corpse, he has creases all over his face and has a single hair sticking up from his head. Martin beside him says, "Yeah, that's one of the many interesting behind the scenes facts-". Jon exhaustedly replies "Cool". End ID.]

Persian translation of the Ring Poem by J. R. R. Tolkien (by me)
Here is my take at translating the Ring Poem from english to persian, hope it will arouse your interest !
If you are interested by the process and my notes, it will be below it all.
English
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
Transliteration in latin script

noh vâse-ye ensânhâ-ye fâni mahkum be marg,

I hope you will like it :) if you like the topic, you can keep reading
My process and few interesting notes
Of rhymes, rhythm, and word choice
As it can be seen, I managed to make the second quatrain have quite perfect enclosed rhymes ! A thing I could not successfully replicate in the first one… or could I ?
The first and forth verse are the problem — although both 3 syllables, and cretics as per my prononciation (kept the second e in esemân specifically for that effect) ; so quite rhythmically pleasant. But it was too close to perfection to let it pass. Even if the idea of the only two words not rhyming being the sky of the Elves and the darkness of Sauron’s throne was dramatically fortunate, even quite brilliant. But it was not by my doing, only chance’s ; so it was important to me to add brilliance intentionally, by making it rhyme all the way.
My first idea was to change the word for dark, تاریکش (târikesh) into ویران (virân), making it then :
se halqe vâse-ye pâdishâh-e elfi taht-e âs(e)mân,
haft vâse-ye arbâbhâ-ye dvarfi tu-ye otâq-e sang,
noh vâse-ye ensânhâ-ye fâni mahkum be marg,
yek vâse-ye arbâb-e târik bar sarir-e virân,
It was a fine solution, but that had problems still.
Firstly, the -esh in تاریکش (târikesh) is the possessive suffix, part of the bigger nominal group سریر تاریکش (sarir-e târikesh), meaning “his dark throne” (lit. throne dark his) ; hence the -esh. If I was to use the word ویران (virân), that possession was no more, making it mean “the dark throne”, which was okay-ish (ahah, get it?), but not literal.
Furthermore, ویران (virân) means more “desolate”, “ruined” than “dark” ; it could mean something, like a “dark world”, but it wasn’t literally because it was dark. But desolate was fine ! Mordor is quite it, given how it’s described.
Note how I wrote this time âsemân with parentheses, âs(e)mân, pronounced then âsmân — both are equally said — to match the metric of virân. A nice touch, but no possession.
I wanted the possession.
My second idea was to change the word for sky, آسمان (âsemân) into عرش (‘arsh), making it then :
se halqe vâse-ye pâdishâh-e elfi taht-e ‘arsh,
haft vâse-ye arbâbhâ-ye dvarfi tu-ye otâq-e sang,
noh vâse-ye ensânhâ-ye fâni mahkum be marg,
yek vâse-ye arbâb-e târik bar sarir-e târikesh,
As easily guessed, it had problems.
The first problem was both one… and a genius play on words. For عرش (‘arsh) means sky but in a metaphorical manner, think throne of God type of sky meaning. Which was a problem, and a miracle. Alluding to earthly religions is always risky for translations, in my opinion ; too much connotation, interfering with the translation itself. But, at the same time, it was fun. The parallel between the “throne” of the Elves (or maybe Eru Ilúvatar’s one ?) and the throne of Sauron. Good vs evil is always neat, especially when speaking of Tolkien !
Another issue was the fact that the rhymes were poorer than before, rhymes still, but poor.
A good point was the fact that we kept the possession. Important point, of course.
Of my process and sources
This part will be quick, I promise.
I mostly used Glosbe, not that much for words (well, I used it to find عرش (‘arsh) or ویران (virân), to be fair) but more to have access to its corpuses, diving into the open subtitles of the Lord of the Rings movies. I didn’t want to copy-paste the already made translations, but I used it up has a way to see how they prism through they translated english. It was interesting. Used the french ones, too.
Yes, because last of all, persian in not my mother tongue, neither is english. French is, so excuse my “frenchism” if it occurs.
If you are a persian speaker, any notes or thoughts are more than welcome ! Please, enlighten me. Know that I tried my best and do as best I could, given my knowledge, my guts, and my sources.

Does Brandon Sanderson...hate cats?
I mean...probably not. But I aim to start this conspiracy theory anyway, because I have noticed some disturbing trends about cats in the Cosmere...
1. Dogs are way more prominent
I started thinking about this originally because I was like, "Okay. So there are plenty of dogs, but...where are the cats?" We have TenSoon in Mistborn, whose dog body is very important to his character arc and which gave rise to Soonie Pups which, granted, are adorable. Cats do exist on Scadrial (see #3 below), but that somehow makes their complete lack of actual narrative time all the more glaring. On Roshar, home of crab-everything, we got the crab-dogs (axehounds) but strangely...no crab-cats, even though crab-cats would be adorable and also pinchy. I feel confident in saying that on a cats vs. dogs scale, Sanderson is definitely likes to include dogs more than he does cats.
2. The cats in Tress were VILLAINS
Honestly, I can only think of one book with prominent cats--Tress, where there was the ship cat and also the Sorceress's cat (those were two different cats, right?), whose main job was to torment poor little Huck. The impression I got was that Crow--ship villain--got the cat in order to kill Huck, and the Sorceress's cat was ALSO there to kill Huck. What kind of representation is it, Sanderson, if all of your cat characters are villains??
3. This WoB
While researching the very important question of "Where are all of the cats," I came upon this Reddit thread. And there I found a Word of Brandon that is...telling:
Questioner Are there cats anywhere in the cosmere? Brandon Sanderson Yes there are cats in the cosmere. There are lions in Mistborn, and have been mentioned numerous times, so you can assume, extrapolation, that there are also cats in the worlds somewhere.
Cats somewhere? Cats SOMEWHERE?! Sanderson, you are world-building mcgee, and the best you can say is that cats probably exist because lions do?! The disrespect.
4. The one cat quote
Also in that Reddit thread, someone actually found one place in Mistborn that cats are mentioned! It's Elend fondly telling Vin how weird she is--like some mix of a noblewoman, street urchin, and cat. So the ONE time we have cats on the CANON CAT WORLD, and it's about how weird Vin is.
5. Oh wait. I found more cat quotes. Worse and worse!
More terribly damning evidence can be found in this 17th Shard thread. Robardin collected many cat quotes from Mistborn, Elantris, and The Emperor's Soul. Let's take a gander, shall we?
Shadows of Self: Unrest is shown by kids throwing rocks at cats.
Shadows of Self: Wax frightens a cat by taking off suddenly.
Bands of Mourning: Wayne thinks about how cats can be albino sometimes
Elantris: Hrathen is compared to a deadly cat torturing its prey
Emperor's Soul: Shai is compared to a cat who knocked over a vase
So aside from ONE relatively mundane thought that Wayne has, ALL the other cat quotes are about cats being hurt, frightened, or mean.
Sanderson, come on!
6. Lions are minks!
There is also a quote in that same Reddit thread about Adolin seeing a carving of a lion and being like, "Huh. Weird mink." I mean, that's kind of cute I guess. But also...I feel like it says something that the mighty lion, king of the felines, is assumed to be just some kind of weird mink. Your anti-cat prejudice is showing, Sanderson!
7. Lightsong doesn't have a cat
But the most damning evidence of all that Sanderson hates cats is this. Lightsong somehow does NOT have an overly pampered white, fluffy, Persian cat who sits with him, eats expensive caviar food directly from a golden spoon, and torments Scoot. How does such a cold reality even come into existence?
I can only think of one answer--and it's a tragic one.
I think Sanderson just doesn't like cats, guys.

Salaar: 'Prathi Gaadhalo' song analysis!
@whimsiquix mentioned during a discussion that 'Prathi Gaadhalo' might be a red herring, meant for Varadha actually. That made me listen to the song again.
"In every story it's the demon who unleashes violence, and to oppress that demon rises a king."
The demon was Raja Mannar, who slaughtered an entire tribe to get the throne or Rudra and others who started violence in Khanshar for their interest.
Was Deva the king?
I have seen analysis of the song on YouTube saying Deva was the king described in the song. Because he was the son of Dhaara, the leader of Shouryangas, the rightful king of Khanshar. But I believe it was not Deva, but Varadha who was the king.
1. Khanshar wasn't a place with law and order. They didn't have inheritance law. Son didn't automatically become entitled to the father's assets. He had to earn the position. Rudra established that in the very first scene, when he said Varadha needed to earn the right to wear a nose ring, even if he was Raja Mannar's son. That's the reason, Dhara was chosen after Shiva Mannar instead of his own son Raja Mannar. Either Dhara was the chosen king because he was stronger between the two or they had decided the tribes would take turns over Kartha's position. Similarly, being Dhara's son didn't make Deva the rightful claimant to the throne. Maybe after Dhara, the next king might have come from Dhaniyar tribe.
2. The voiceover after the first scene said that in Khanshar, if you lose a battle, you lose everything. Dhara was killed and in a way lost the battle and lost his everything. Khanshar's most important law was 'Balasthaiba Rajyam, Balasthaiba Asanam', meaning 'the strongest shall rule, the strongest shall get the throne'. Raja Mannar earned the throne for himself, even though it was by using dishonourable means and was ruling with his own strength for the last 25 years. It was also kind of a weakness for Dhara to not anticipate Raja Mannar's treacherous intention, consequences of which were suffered by not only himself, but also by his family and his entire tribe.
3. If we discard this rightful claimant stuff, Deva was indeed strong and capable of earning the throne for himself. But did he have the agency to take it for himself. The movie established from the very first scene that Deva had no agency of his own, he was a weapon in the hands of the person with whom his loyalties lie. A weapon's effectiveness depends on the person who yields it. In Amma's hands, Deva was like a weapon with a deadly and terrifying history, but locked in a glass box. It was only Varadha's hands which could unleash the ultimate power of the weapon.
4. The movie is named Salaar and we were told about the meaning behind the same through the conversation between Baba and Varadha. Salaar was the name of the powerful man devoted to the Persian Emperor. Varadha named Deva Salaar because of the latter's devotion towards him and Varadha was parallel to the Persian Emperor.
"In his quest to quell the enemy, the king has embraced savagery. He has made violence a habit and forgotten kindness, He slayed the monster fighting resolutely, Filled with ire, he has turned into a monster himself."
1. When Bilal introduced Varadha to Aadhya, he said even though Varadha was only a governor, but lived with the confidence of the lord. Varadha was someone with much restraint in the violent world of Khanshar. The whole film was about how much more Varadha could tolerate, before he snapped and fought back. His self control, dignity and calmness was what scared his enemies most. Such a person is like a volcano. When such a person abandons the restraint binding them, the lava of their wrath would destroy everything that stands in their way.
2. Towards the end of the movie, we saw Varadha telling his family members that he also had Mannarsi blood flowing in his veins. Finally, Varadha Raja Mannar, embraced the savagery and violence in his blood and fought back against the enemies. He also declared his intention of fighting for the throne against his own father.
3. Varadha turning into a monster himself while fighting monsters could be part of his villain arc.
"Be determined, dare the most powerful, Time to prove your patience and skill, Forgiveness is a noble way to win."
1. Patience was never a skill of Deva. He was well known for being an impulsive maniac. It was Varadha, who was skilled in patience, who tolerated the humiliation and unfair treatment for 25 years.
2. It was clear from the blood stained hands that Deva had a guilty conscience. He was living a placid life with his mother, hiding from the world. They were moving from place to place to escape from someone.
3. Deva was the one seeking redemption and the only person he would give power to forgive him would be Varadha.
4. Radha Rama was trying to take advantage of their falling out and make them fight each other. The only way they could win against her, if Varadha would forgive Deva and they would reconcile.
"Won't anger prove to be your weakness?"
Varadha's anger against Deva would surely be his weakness as Deva was his greatest strength.
"Stop a war with a smile and show the world, Your merits shall remain etched on time like letters on stone, Your flaws shall be erased like lines on sand."
Deva would never fight against Varadha. Varadha was the one who could stop the coming war by forgiving Deva. If he chose to do so, they would be friends again and live happily ever after. Otherwise, Varadha would go down as a villain.
"Victories don't come from wars, they come from forgiveness."
That's what Amma wrote on the blackboard during the song. Varadeva victory would be assured if they embrace forgiveness and fight together against their enemies.
Maybe I am overthinking, but the song might actually be meant for Varadha and not Deva.

Pezhetairoi
The pezhetairoi (foot companions) were part of the imposing army that accompanied the Macedonian commander Alexander the Great (r. 336-323 BCE) when he crossed the Hellespont to face the Persian king Darius III in 334 BCE. Armed with long pikes (sarissas), the pezhetairoi fought in a Greek phalanx formation and played an important role in the battles of the Granicus, Issus, and Gaugamela.
Origin
Like with the hypaspist, the origin and evolution of the pezhetairos (plural: pezhetairoi) are shrouded in mystery. Except for references to them in discussions of Philip II and Alexander, the term pezhetairoi is hardly found in ancient literature. In his The Army of Alexander the Great, historian Stephen English wrote that, at some inexact point, the peasantry was recruited territorially and organized into infantry, and, according to the historian Anaximenes, it was given the name pezhetairoi. He added that the pezhetairoi were "essentially an evolution of the standard phalanx" (3).
However, disagreements still persist: some scholars refer to all of the Macedonian infantry as pezhetairoi while others believe they were not front-line infantry but bodyguards to the king. English contends that the pezhetairoi may have been created as a select, elite infantry acting as royal bodyguards under the Macedonian king Alexander I (498-454 BCE). It is claimed by some that this elite infantry eventually became the hypaspists. It was Alexander III (the Great) who would extend the term pezhetairoi to include all of the heavy phalanx infantry with the exception of the hypaspists.

KAEYA LORE FROM THE KAEYA HANGOUT with some theories
Spoilers below!
It's a long one so get ready!
First of, let me mention the fact that the EN team surprisingly changed the dialogue post release of the Caribert quest.
Tumblr media
The original dialogue (still the one in the genshin wiki) merely implies that the main goal of his father was to give him a happier life.
Tumblr media
In my recent playthrough of the quest, however, they have now changed the dialogue into something more concerning. The way this was phrased, the happier life is not the main concern, but is instead to keep Kaeya alive. Was there a threat to his life? How unsafe must it have been to have his father leave him in a distant nation?
Ok, but then so what right?
They then hit us with the Kaeya hangout, and 2 certain routes that are very telling. The play ending and the Venti ending.
For the one with the play, we are introduced to a certain play called The Tale of Prince Qubad. It is a story about a war-hungry father doubting his son and putting him to trial by having his son walk thru raging fire. The prince is unscathed, proving his innocence, however, his father is still doubtful. He sends his son to the battlefield.
A quick search to the name Qubad will lead you to a book of poems called "Shahnameh", a pre-Islamic Persian book that translates to "Epic of Persian Kings".
What are the contents, you may ask? Fascinatingly enough, certain topics of the book includes talks of royal lineage, how their choices affect their people, and primarily, fathers and sons with fathers making mistakes.
I skimmed thru some summaries and found out that Prince Qubad is actually a King in the book. One who surprisingly trusted his son when the prince mentioned of a betrayal and coup against him. His reign continued.
(The book of poems also has a character named Rostam who arguably has the most popular story from the book)
Like the play we see in the game, the Shahnameh also pits fathers and sons against each other, most of the time ending in tragedy. It seems like its a cycle that plans on repeating.
Must it be so?
Tumblr media
Prince Qubad decides to go against his fate. He decides to live in a distant land to maintain peace. His tutor, the one who he truly thinks of as a father, wishes him well.
This choice of the prince is what maintains peace, preventing unnecessary bloodshed and suffering, including a full eradication of their supposed enemies.
This brings several questions and theories?
Who is who in this story? Who is the enemy faction? Is this about Celestia vs. Khaenri'ah? This specific dialogue is for sure talking about the effects of it (with both the Fatui and Abyss Order gunning for a fight with Celestia)
Tumblr media
Was this about Kaeya? Left in a foreign land by his tutor rather than his biological father? Is Kaeya's biological father perhaps the true threat to his own life then? (Damn, imagine losing 3 fathers. Spiderman-core). Is this why he mentions that Kaeya is their only hope? To prevent another devastating war?
Tumblr media
Was him being left in Mondstadt a means to continue the peace in Teyvat? So should Kaeya return to Khaenri'ah...
Or perhaps this is this his father's story in a sense that it was King Qubad in the book who for once changed fate and trusted his own son? Was he on the run from the clan, fully against their choices and opinions, to save Kaeya from said fate? This could also explain why Kaeya is cut off from certain things and how Dainsleif is not familiar with him.
All in all, I can at least be certain that Kaeya wishes to challenge his fate. It's as if he knows how things will end and is repeatedly lamenting on the idea of "is this really his fate?" " can he change it?" and "can he leave the narrative?". He is literally wondering if there is a way to escape a horrid fate and maintain the peace. That is his true wish in all of this, because at the end of the day, Kaeya wants everyone to make it to the end.
Tumblr media
Before moving on, this part is curious to me... is he implying that Celestia is making the people of Teyvat play a role into things? Criticizing the script everyone has been given and wanting everyone to go against it? He is asking people to wake up... and when the traveller questions his thoughts, he immediately backtracks.
Tumblr media
Now to connect this with the Venti ending
I think we can all agree that both Kaeya and Venti know of each other. It was absolutely hilarious to see the way they talk to each other like "I know that you know that I know that you know-" (reminiscent of the time Venti went to Liyue and just started the very same type of dialogue with Zhongli lmao)
Kaeya seems to want to remove himself from the narrative, "leave the stage" you could say, once his role to things is done. He does the same thing after the play, running off once the people who wished to talk to him put their eyes off of him. He chooses to move away to the background and simply watch the seeds of his efforts bloom from a distance. Does he think he does not deserve to be part of it then? ( Did he not do the same for when he prepared for Jean's party? Sitting alone in the tavern rather than mingle with others by the end? And how he nearly left Dawn Winery after being invited for dinner? He keeps wanting to leave...) Venti criticizes him on this. Venti wants both Kaeya and the traveler to see the ending.
Tumblr media
And then Venti proceeds to gift Kaeya with a poem (the same way Kaeya and Venti seem to converse with each other for most of the time... more poems huh? It seems we have a perchance for poetry when it comes to Kaeya)
Tumblr media
What an interesting poem. If i were to interpret this, I would say that he is talking about how Kaeya was left with a cruel fate and given a life full of trials and hardships, and yet Kaeya strives forward despite it all. Kaeya's troubles are unheard to many, but Kaeya also has his eyes facing forward, onwards to a brighter future that he strives for.
Clearly Kaeya wants to see the ending too, whether he thinks he deserves it or not. Kaeya keeps deciding to bring himself out of endings every single time, but the people around him thankfully bring him back and want him there.
Tumblr media
Venti will want Kaeya to come back home by the end of everything. How's that for a poetic ending, hmm??

Hi, hi~ Could I ask headcanons for Leonidas if he has a child who wants to match him with Geirölul and how would he and Geirölul react? (Reader can be gn or fem <3)
Kisses kisses~

Type of Writing: Request Characters: Leonidas and Geirölul Name: Leonidas' Child! Reader Tries Matching Him and Geirölul Up Requester: @m3l-moony
A/N: I don't personally ship these two, but their friendship is something I find so cute, since they're so similar to one another. For this, they're not feeling romantic, rather, they're just friends, this is also an AU where he defeats Apollo. I hope that's alright!

🚬 You were the heir of Sparta, the only child of King Leonidas I, and it only happening because he found you during one of his many conquests against the Persians
🚬 Leonidas would watch as you mess around with his army members' children with the largest smile plastered on your face and your adorable laugh echoing through his ears
🚬 When he was called for Ragnarok, you protested, saying how you didn't want to lose him again, like how you watched him die in the Battle of Thermopylae
🚬 He sent most of his army away, and they tried taking you with them, but your stubbornness conflicted them and you died alongside your father
🚬 Now, hearing you may have to watch him die again? You were breaking down fast
🚬 Assuring you that he would win against the arrogant and selfish God, Apollo, you watched as the Sun God erupted into shards of glass and smiled as Humanity cried victorious chants for your father, making you smile and run to meet him at the entrance
🚬 Leonidas was happy when you finally got to meet his Valkyrie, Geirölul, because they were so similar in personality, you assumed that they should be more, which leads us to her part...

❤️‍🔥 When Leonidas' army cheered for him, she heard a large cry out happiness and the sound of small footsteps approaching her and Leonidas from behind
❤️‍🔥 She turned around and saw Leonidas reach out and hug a small child, looking at them with the most adoration she had ever seen someone look at another in her entire lifetime
❤️‍🔥 Geirölul and you got along very well, since she and your father were so similar, and that made you bond with her a lot faster than you did with any of Leonidas' fellow Human Fighters
❤️‍🔥 She would watch you whenever he was busy, and after a while, you began to see her as another parental figure, and when you voiced that to her sister, Alvitr
❤️‍🔥 Leonidas and Geirölul looked at each other when her sister voiced the conversation you had with her earlier that day and they laughed, saying you were a kid and this was normal
❤️‍🔥 Oh boy, were they wrong!
❤️‍🔥 You would hold Leonidas' hand and then hold Geirölul's, allowing them to swing you around, as if they were the parents and you were the only child in the perfect family troupe
❤️‍🔥 She and Leonidas eventually understood you actually wanted them to be together, but, they only saw one another as friends, sometimes siblings whenever they bickered or bonded with you, nothing more
❤️‍🔥 It was unfortunate to break that to you, but after handing you a small bag of sweets for you to enjoy, if you managed to catch them

They both have different reactions when it comes to this scenario;
Leonidas
" I love my child, and I do want them to feel like they have a real family, but, Geirölul and I are only very good friends. Though, it is still nice to see how understanding my youngster is, despite the situation. I'm happy the two of them still get along, Geirölul's a good influence, to me at least. "
Geirölul
" They are the sweetest thing I have ever met, but, much like Leonidas, I do not view our relationship as anything other than platonic. I adore how understanding his child was, even though we did kinda crush their goals with a few words. They're a good kid. "
