THE UNDERGAMES: Night 2

And so the sun sets on our contestants, hiding away the bloodshed under the cover of darkness. But as is customary for the Undergames, we shall not let the dead go forgotten! Cannons erupt to honor the fallen!

@sat-ona-tuffet of DISTRICT 8, who died of dysentery after only one night in the woods. Honestly, I had higher hopes for her than this.

@fxllenmercy of DISTRICT 10, showing what happens when goatmom leaves their child unattended. They died along with their innocence.

@thebrokenlabnerd of DISTRICT 11, who tried her best to pull an evil stunt only to get herself killed instead... but hey, she took someone out with them at least. That’s ratings!

And finally, @delightscream of DISTRICT 12, who died without ever being reunited with his beloved Ragu. May he hopefully find peace without it.

Now, for the night!

The night already seems to be starting out calmer than the previous one, with @maternacapra & @codelived both managing to start their own fires! Need to stay warm during the Undergames, but not set yourself on fire in the process!

Speaking of fires...

It seems @theirjudgment isn’t even gonna attempt starting one, and instead just humming to himself during the night. Better than frying his ribs I guess.

Meanwhile, @deadly-devotion is screaming into the night for help they most certainly don’t deserve. Does anyone care? Not the Undergames Team.

Thankfully, despite the ruckus and the stress, some like @cinnamccn are still managing to get a healthy amount of sleep. And she’s not the only one!

Others like @voiddxd are finding more... interesting positions, though.

Not everyone is passing the night away alone, however!

As, in a heartwarming display, many strangers bond against the cold air!

@careful-justice managing to convince the only human grown up around the supervise them in the Undergames, @frozenfischer, to keep her warm at night.

And then there’s @astarvingauthor & @soulscarredscientist... honestly, this one is probably just for necessity since apparently skeletons can die of hypothermia.

Finally, @perseveringxsoul managed to find a big strong friend to protect them in the form of our fishy, cheating friend @smellslikejustice. Hey, at least all those free supplies she’s been given up until now are being put to good use.

BUT MOST LOVELY OF ALL...!

THE PASTA SAUCE HAS ESCAPED THE PAWS OF GOATMOM, AND REUNITED WITH THEIR BELOVED @somefellbros! They’re working together to keep each other safe, so that they can pick flowers together at the end!

But not every nightly encounter is all hunk-dory!

AS @bad-time-simulator-201x RAIDS & DESTROYS ALL THE FREE SUPPLIES @punnybonessnas HAS BEEN RECEIVING FROM THE SPONSORS! And the crowd CHEERS, because he totally deserved that!

Hecking cheaters.

And by the end of the night, someone who’s actually done something in the Undergames receiving supplies that they’ve earned! Good show, @skelehomie!

Not a single death tonight! Only justice for cheating, from Sans to Sans.

Day Three hopefully will be more exciting, yes?

“Hold it right there human!” chimed a rather booming ferment voice along with a sound of a snap summing a spear to sprout from the ground in front of the purple soul child “I’m afraid You won’t be going anywhere, No while I, The Undefeated Undyne stand in your way!” there in what seems to be some sort of ‘armor’ with cute little green scarf around her neck was a fish monster!

... It has been some time since she has heard the alarm sprung. A human has once again breached the Underground, and is dwelling in its grounds. Undyne will not make a mistake this time. This human WILL fall to her hands. She will best them, no matter what.

From recent news, she heard that said human was in the Waterfall area. Where in there, she did not know, but she made quick work of scouting the area. The klanging of her armor echoed throughout the normally calm scenery, placing fear into those whom it might chase after.

She was on the hunt.

Oh my god I drew this January and I’m only just now posting it.

This is Lan, my purple SOUL OC over at @perseveringxsoul, and this was a fun experiment in lighting. I think it still looks pretty good for having been drawn months ago.

When he woke up with a pounding head Lan knew he was sick before he could even process what else might be wrong, and he just groaned softly, curling up in a ball in his little alcove.

Today is not a day to slip out to try and gather information. Today is not a day to go anywhere or anything.

But for the first time since he started hiding here, the dampness of Waterfall is bothering him, and he can’t stop shivering, and his blanket isn’t cutting it.

So when Gaster comes to check on him, it’s a relief, and he almost starts crying as he blindly tries to grab a hold of the monster’s sleeve, not really saying anything, just groaning softly and pulling his blanket tighter around himself.

. . . That wasn’t good. Gaster hadn’t been expecting to see Lan like this when he came in this morning, and the fact that he was worried him. He gently pulled Lan into his arms when he grabbed a hold of him, blanket and all, rubbing his back. “ARE YOU ALRIGHT, LAN?”

He looked sick. Which . . . wouldn’t have been that bad if he had actually taken care of a sick human over the past couple hundred years, depending on the cause of the sickness. But he hadn’t had to deal with this since before the War, and human sicknesses were different than monster sicknesses. It wasn’t like he could do any research down here either (though looking through the dump to see if there was anything from the surface that described anything about human sicknesses might help), which meant he was probably going to have to do this from memory. Oh dear.

. . . Either way, the dampness of Waterfall probably wasn’t helping. He’d have to figure out a way to fix that.

There is no icon that can properly show the horror that Gaster is feeling right now as he screams out over the death of his son.
