The full Moon that happens nearest to the fall equinox (September 22nd or 23rd) always takes on the name “Harvest Moon.” Unlike other full Moons, this full Moon rises at nearly the same time—around sunset—for several evenings in a row, giving farmers several extra evenings of moonlight & allowing them to finish their harvests before the frosts of fall arrive.
• While September’s full Moon is usually known as the Harvest Moon, if October’s full Moon happens to occur closer to the equinox than September’s, it takes on the name “Harvest Moon” instead. In this case, September’s full Moon would be referred to as the Corn Moon.
This time of year—late summer into early fall—corresponds with the time of harvesting corn in much of the northern United States. For this reason, a number of Native American peoples traditionally used some variation of the name “Corn Moon” to refer to the Moon of either August or September.

The name Mabon comes from the Welsh/Brythonic God Mabon Ap Modron, who's name means "Divine/great Son", However, there is evidence that the name was adopted in the 1970s for the Autumn Equinox & has nothing to do with this celebration or this time of year.
• Though many cultures see the second harvest (after the first harvest Lughnasadh) & Equinox as a time for giving thanks before the name Mabon was given because this time of year is traditionally when farmers know how well their summer crops did & how well fed their animals have become. This determines whether you & your family would have enough food for the winter. That is why people used to give thanks around this time, thanks for their crops, animals & food
Some believe it celebrates the autumn equinox when Nature is preparing for the winter months. Night & day are of equal legth  & the God's energy & strength are nearly gone. The Goddess begins to mourn the loss she knows is coming, but knows he will return when he is reborn at Yule.

• Sukkot- Is a Torah-commanded holiday celebrated for seven days, beginning on the 15th day of the month of Tishrei. It is one of the Three Pilgrimage Festivals on which Israelites were commanded to make a pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem. Originally a harvest festival celebrating the autumn harvest, Sukkot’s modern observance is characterized by festive meals in a sukkah, a temporary wood-covered hut, celebrating the Exodus from Egypt.
• Mid-Autumn festival- September 17th
Is also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival. It is a traditional festival celebrated in Chinese culture, similar holidays are celebrated by other cultures in East & Southeast Asia. It is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture; its popularity is on par with that of Chinese New Year. The history of the Mid-Autumn Festival dates back over 3,000 years.  On this day, it is believed that the Moon is at its brightest and fullest size, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of Autumn.
During the festival, lanterns of all size and shapes – which symbolize beacons that light people's path to prosperity & good fortune – are carried & displayed. Mooncakes, a rich pastry typically filled with sweet-bean, egg yolk, meat or lotus-seed paste, are traditionally eaten during this festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is based on the legend of Chang'e, the Moon goddess in Chinese mythology.
• Thanksgiving- This is a secular holiday which is similar to the cell of Mabon; A day to give thanks for the food & blessings of the previous year. The American Thanksgiving is the last Thursday of November while the Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated in October
• The Oschophoria- Were a set of ancient Greek festival rites held in Athens during the month Pyanepsion (autumn) in honor of Dionysus. The festival may have had both agricultural and initiatory functions.
-Amidst much singing of special songs, two young men dressed in women's clothes would bear branches with grape-clusters attached from Dionysus to the sanctuary of Athena Skiras & a footrace followed in which select ephebes competed.
Ancient sources connect the festival and its rituals to the Athenian hero-king Theseus & specifically to his return from his Cretan adventure. According to that myth, the Cretan princess Ariadne, whom Theseus had abandoned on the island of Naxos while voyaging home, was rescued by an admiring Dionysus; thus the Oschophoria may have honored Ariadne as well. A section of the ancient calendar frieze incorporated into the Byzantine Panagia Gorgoepikoos church in Athens, corresponding to the month Pyanopsion (alternate spelling), has been identified as an illustration of this festival's procession.

Above are fun "survival" packs for each sign! Not to be taken too seriously. Carnelian's symbolism can bolster Aries fiery nature, ambition, and confidence. Note: Honeysuckle has some edible and nonedible parts. Copper is already associated with Taurus and can bring energies of harmony and grounding. Tourmaline can have a variety of meanings for a sign with plenty of duality and complexity. Black tourmaline can be all about protection and purity, whereas rainbow tourmaline can be about love, happiness, and balance. Moonstone is famous for new beginnings, healing, and inner peace or calm. Tiger's eye is about power, confidence, protection, and can sync with Leo's courage. Peridot is known for prosperity, wealth, and boost self-reliance.  Jade is all about harmony, serenity, and abundance for wonderful Libra! Malachite can be a powerful tool for protection and transformation. Topaz is a stone of manifestation, luck, and abundance perfectly aligning with Sagittarius. Garnet can be grounding and strengthening but also inspiring and energizing. Note: hellebore is poisonous to humans and animals, but is still a cool flower. Celestite is a beautiful crystal/mineral associated with connecting to your higher mind and promotes spirituality. Amethyst can help Pisces by promoting mental clarity as well as intuition and positive thoughts or dreams.

Birthday in Waterdeep
For the amazing, beautiful, talented, wonderful @orangekittyenergy on her birthday. Make sure you show her love today or whenever you see this. <3 Rating: SFW! Fluff! Word Count: 1146 (Fic and hilariously bad Gale art by me)
You come home from the markets to find the Tower quiet. It’s not unusual, your wizard is partial to getting lost in ancient tomes and weathered parchments, not to mention the stresses that come with his job at Blackstaff. In fact, he’d had his nose in a book since first thing that morning and had hardly looked away when he asked you to run to the markets for him. You’d thought he’d been joking at first, but it seemed Gale hadn’t remembered the significance of the day and just needed a few potion making supplies from a vendor on the far side of the city. A chore that takes all day and you are just making it back now at dusk. Even now you swallow the bitter sting in your throat that threatens to turn to tears and remind yourself that he is a very busy man, and you hadn’t reminded him that today is your birthday.
But it is unusually quiet within the tower — you don’t hear the sweet tinkling of the piano he listens to while he works, the bubbling of potions, or even the voice of Tara welcoming you back home. You can’t help but feel sad.
The heavy front door swings to a close behind you and you enter the familiar darkened foyer. With a deep breath you lock the door behind you and turn to face your surroundings, the tears that you’d been fighting back begin to spill freely down your face. There on the hall table, waits a dozen red roses swirling with a shimmering glitter — the weave clearly preserving them in their moment of perfection. A dress box with a simple bow sits in front of them with a note on it in familiar handwriting. It reads,
“My love, My humble personage requests the presence of your divine beauty for dinner this evening. If you would do me the honor of wearing this and following the rose petals, I will meet you presently.
Yours devotedly, Gale
ps- no simulacrum this time after that ghastly impression you said he did our very first night together when I invited you to look at the stars”
You smile at the joke in his postscript through the tears in your eyes, remembering the silly simulacrum who had met you at Gale’s tent in the Shadow Cursed Lands. Wiping at your face, you set down the note and open the box with an excited gasp. The dress that awaits you is the most beautiful piece of clothing you’d ever seen in your life and in your favorite color. You weren’t sure how he’d picked out such a beautiful gown, maybe he’d asked Astarion for his help — the vampire did have the most fabulous taste in fabrics.
You excitedly change clothes while touching up your hair and makeup. Gale had truly thought of everything and left a mirror and your beauty supplies on a nearby side table. Catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror makes you gasp — you look like royalty. Following the rose petals down the hall and up the stairs is easy, they sparkle with the same bits of weave as the roses in the hall vase. If there is a downside to living in a wizard tower it is the stairs and while you’re not sure where this trail leads, the dress wasn’t easy to ascend them all in.
On the landing between stairs the trail stops again, and you find a single rose on top of a velvet jewelry box. Another note awaits you, this one much shorter:
“I believe this might help, my love. Yours -Gale Ps- when you’ve put it on, simply speak the incantation I’ve written below”
Within the box is a beautiful necklace, a large clear peridot sparkled in a silver setting that seemed elven in nature — the flawless vines of silver that held the stone were too fine to be anything else. The pendant was on a silver chain and had the familiar sparkle of magic to it, not surprising considering Gale’s note. You wonder what he could possibly have in store, but the anxiety is short-lived. If Gale had proven anything to you in your time together it was his absolute devotion. You knew you were safe.
Once the necklace is on, you speak the incantation that Gale provided. Instantaneously, you are surrounded by the smell of rose water and your beloved wizard. You can no longer feel the ground beneath your feet, but you feel safe and secure in the arms of Gale’s magic as the spell works its magic. Seconds later you feel the ground beneath your feet once more and you open your eyes to find Gale standing before you on the Tower balcony. His eyes widen and his breath catches when he sees you in the dress and necklace he’d chosen for you.
“H-Happy Birthday my love, you look…” He struggles and gapes at you as his eyes rake hungrily over your form, “You look ravishing, you a visage of the most divine beauty and I find myself hardly worthy to look upon it.”
He drops to his knees before you, gently grabbing your hand and kissing the back of your palm like a lord swearing fealty to their king. You begin to pull him to standing, hungry for a kiss when you fully take in your surroundings. Once again, your eyes fill with tears as you take it in. A candlelit dinner has been laid out on a grand table. The food is clearly Gale’s handiwork and features all your favorites and a few sweet treats as well. Bottles of wine have been uncorked and await you. Knowing the way he loved to spoil you they were likely some of the finest bottles he had in reserves.
Magical lights, lanterns, and candles float in the air all around you — giving the entire area the most romantic glow against the night. And above it all you see the night sky. Your jaw drops when you fully look at the sky. You throw your arms around Gale who has stood back up with a grin. If the night sky he had conjured for you in the Shadow Cursed Lands was a love song, this one could only be an entire symphony of the deepest and most profound love, crafted just for you.
“I had to make your first birthday at home in Waterdeep special, my love” Gale whispers into your hairline, still holding you tight within his arms and leaving a tender kiss on your forehead.
“I thought you had forgotten,” you say— your voice is almost raspy with emotion.
“Forget you? Never. But please forgive my deception, my dear”
You can only nod in response, tears running down your face as you both sway in the safe embrace of one another. This night is perfect, and you are so happy to be home.

WHO IS SHE?
Medusa is a mythical creature from Greek mythology who is most well-known for her ability to turn people to stone by looking at them. She is described as having a head full of snakes instead of hair and a gaze so powerful that it can turn people to stone. In some stories, Medusa is described as a beautiful maiden who was cursed by the gods to have this fearsome appearance and power. Despite her fearsome reputation, Medusa is sometimes portrayed as a victim of the gods, who punished her for reasons beyond her control.
BASIC INFO:
Appearance: Medusa is typically depicted as a beautiful maiden with long, flowing hair that is actually made up of venomous snakes. Her face is usually described as serpentine, with sharp fangs and a venomous stare. Some versions of the Medusa myth also describe her as having a scaly body and wings, while others depict her as having a more human-like appearance. Regardless of the details, the key feature that sets Medusa apart is her ability to turn people to stone with her gaze, which is often depicted as being incredibly intense.
Personality: in some modern interpretations and reinterpretations of the Medusa myth, she is sometimes portrayed as a misunderstood or tormented figure who has the power to both harm and protect those who come into contact with her. In these interpretations, Medusa may be seen as a symbol of female empowerment, transformation, or resilience, and her appearance may be viewed as a powerful tool rather than a curse.
Symbols: snakes, eyes, feminism and divine femininity, the aegis, “divine eyes” or Gorgon eyes (sometimes drawn as concentric circles or spirals), the water element, and silver, green, and gold
Enigmatic Figure of: turning people to stone with her gaze, rebirth, beauty, power, and transformation
Culture: Greek
Plants and trees: seaweed, apple tree, vanilla, water lilies, rose petals, mugwort, thyme, sage, and wormwood
Crystals: Medusa quartz, aquamarine, malachite, pearl, moonstone, tsavorite, diamond, peridot, amethyst, serpentine, turquoise, aquaprase, and tanzanite
Animals: snakes and jellyfish
Incense: frankincense, vanilla, and apple
Practices: embodying the divine feminine, shadow work, banishing negativity, healing (especially from sexual trauma), and setting boundaries
Colours: green, silver, and gold
Numbers: 3 and 7
Zodiacs: Scorpio and Pisces (not confirmed)
Tarot: The Tower, The High Priestess, and The Hermit (not confirmed)
Planets: Pluto and Neptune (not confirmed)
Days: Monday, Thursday, Samhain, and new moons
Parents: Phorcys and Ceto
Siblings: the Hesperides, Stheno, Euryale, the Graeae, Thoosa, Scylla, and Ladon
Partner: Poseidon
Children: Pegasus and Chrysaor
MISC:
Snakes: Medusa is often associated with snakes because she is depicted as having a serpentine head, complete with writhing snakes for hair. According to one popular myth, Medusa was once a beautiful mortal woman who was cursed by Athena to have this fearsome appearance after she was seduced by Poseidon in the goddess' temple. Thus, the association of Medusa with snakes is often seen as a symbol of her cursed and fearsome nature.
The colour green: in many cultures, the colour green is associated with nature, growth, and rebirth, which can be seen as a reflection of Medusa's own transformation from a mortal into a fearful creature with serpentine features. Additionally, the colour green is sometimes associated with the goddess Gaia, the personification of the Earth and the natural world in ancient Greek mythology, which can also tie in with Medusa's connection to the natural world and her role as a powerful and fearsome figure.
Feminism: Medusa is often seen as a symbol of feminism due to her portrayal as a powerful and fearsome female figure. She is often depicted as an embodiment of female power and strength, particularly in modern reinterpretations of Greek mythology. Medusa's transformation from a beautiful mortal into a fearsome creature with serpentine features can be viewed as a metaphor for the subjugation and transformation of women in patriarchal societies. The themes of male gaze and the dangers of vanity and pride that are often associated with Medusa's character can also be seen as reflections of the societal expectations and pressures placed on women.
Coral: she is often associated with Medusa due to its connection to the sea and the underwater world. In ancient Greek mythology, Medusa is often depicted as a creature of the sea and the ocean depths, with her serpentine features and association with Poseidon, the god of the sea. The color and texture of coral, with its intricate and branching structure, can also be seen as reminiscent of Medusa's serpentine hair and writhing snakes.
Divination: in some tales, Medusa is depicted as a seer or oracle, possessing the power to foretell the future or divine the will of the gods. Additionally, her fearsome and intimidating appearance and her ability to turn people to stone with her gaze may further contribute to her association with the supernatural and prophetic powers, as her gaze could be seen as a powerful and otherworldly form of divination.
FACTS ABOUT MEDUSA:
Medusa is a protection symbol. She's been found on houses, tombs, walls of cities, and temples.
She works mostly with women, but can also work with men too.
NEVER place a mirror or reflective device on Medusa’s altar. If she sees her own reflection, it will turn her to stone.
The myth of Medusa's rape by Poseidon (Neptune in Roman mythology), is a more recent addition to the traditional story, written by the Roman poet Ovid, who was known to make women look like victims in his poems. In Ovid's version, Poseidon is depicted as the initiator of the encounter, and Medusa is portrayed as a victim who is punished by Athena for the crime of being raped. However, in the original Greek mythology, Medusa was not raped by Poseidon, and her transformation into a fearsome creature was punishment for her violation of Athena's temple, not for being a victim of assault or violence.
HOW TO INVOKE MEDUSA:
If you’re just getting going working with the Goddess Medusa, start small. Medusa comes to those who are in need, so she doesn’t expect a totally decked-out altar from her followers. You can simply offer her a devotional candle or a seashell.
Whether or not you’ve chosen to make an offering to the Goddess Medusa, be sure to directly ask her if she would like to work with you and wait for an answer. Be sure to keep a lookout for signs and symbols of the gorgon in the days thereafter, as she may approach you in subtle ways.
I recommend that you work with Medusa using a pendulum or cards if you’re new to divination work. She has really strong energy with the pendulum so you’ll definitely know when she’s around.
The goddess Medusa may also reveal herself in dreams or through symbols in life, such as the snake, or by sending other outcasts your way. Try sleeping with a symbol that represents the Goddess Medusa under your pillow if you want to connect during sleep. However, be really for some kind of intense imagery: Medusa isn’t for the faint of heart!
PRAYER FOR MEDUSA:
Hail Medusa,
Protected of women
Righter of wrong
Symbol of strength

fave 2024 korean releases
IMPORTANT CAVEAT: I HAVE YET TO LISTEN TO 'AAA' BY HYUKOH x SUNSET ROLLERCOASTER! IT IS NOT ON THIS LIST! I AM WAITING FOR THE RIGHT TIMING! IT IS NOT TIME YET!
on to this year's list:
beautiful world - kimhwol
akin to its album cover, it's best to listen when you are out on a walk. kim hwol's voice cradles you like a beating fire, like a baby bird. while forest child might be the best song of the album, my favorite is the demo track of dear my love with its plinky piano which i find particularly delightful. sparse, basic, but each tracks soars.
yin - colde
i was hesitant to place this here since it's only 3 tracks long but considering it's on my top spotify wrapped, i felt it'd be bias not to give it a place of honor. the background adlib at 3:25 mark in I Color You is laced with cocaine. solid rnb singles, per usual. where is that offonoff album.
dudndudndudn - yujin kim
get on the ground floorrrr. kim yujin is a gorgeous jazz vocalist (listen to her past 2 albums if you haven't) and this EP is rich, bright and her voice is playful and unpretentious. the double track You Love Me / I Love You are so disgustingly cheesy it rounds back to being good. personal fave track is hit me back where it dipped its toe in shoegaze.
orange hour - joyce kwon
have your ever heard an album that is so technically perfect that you get mad? this is that album. i don't even know what else to say.
neom 0541 - BØJEONG
during my first time listening of Unreal, i had to pause and check out if they were a side project of the band The Solutions - they're not. it doesn't mean this release isn't an absolute barn-burner. a concept rock album of landing in a desolate new world, this EP's highlight is Unreal but i implore to stick around for the next track Hyenoid as it hits you with a solo that can melt your face clean right off. check out their latest EP kin as well.
angel interview - meaningful stone, swervy
the latest entry in this list, not even a month old as i am typing this. however, i had a sneaking suspicion this album is going to be an instant shoegaze classic (red car and i open the window instead of the closed door especially) the transition from garage rock esc to house track _()_ is insane.
are you watching at all? - min.a
while i can't say i am a fan of the current epidemic of particularly nasal tiktok singing that's hitting youngsters, min.a is an exception to the rule because she actually has the sauce. by that, her EP thoroughly impresses in its production that i am here for everything she releases from now on. while skipping stones has the play numbers, do not skip on sunshower and petty because they are so cleverly arranged that i don't wanna spoil it.
cool - hyelyn joo
this is a funnnn indie-pop EP with great earworms like Kiss! and Crazy. it's bubbly nature oddly reminds of Lee Jin Ah, albeit steers more safely to the pop side. it's a true crowd pleaser release and each track can be someone's favorite. no on asked but B-Yum is my tongue-in-cheek fave.
the world you live in - ashmute
let it be on the record that everytime they release, it's gonnaaaa be on this list. i prayed for an album from them and my prayers were answered this year. to top it all, it's good and STILL so underrated. Air and Saudade deliver their signature sad sexy bops but surprisingly HARUMADA comes out as the citypop track i didn't know i needed.
honorable mentions:
growing pains - ghost bookstore, miniseries 2 - sumin & slom, play with earth! 03 - wave to earth, "L" - the volunteers, PUMP - epik high, sphere - jooyoung, gimbap - george, entire i & and july - kim kak sung, overtime life - 8호실 peridot, the earth - mrch, bonfire - cifika

Please note that I took most of my information from online, and I didn't personally read/ watch everything, so there may be some mistakes. Also, some of the not-canon characters are very likely aspec, but just not confirmed. And especially if they say/ do really obviously aro/ ace stuff, I wasn't sure if it's enough to put them in the "confirmed" category. (e.g. Saiki literally said he isn't attracted to anyone regardless of gender, and never wants to be in a relationship. But there are still people who doubt his aroace-ness. (And at this point I don't see how it could be anything but aphobia, to deny the mere possibility of him being aroace so vehemently lol.) ) Also: Sadly, I couldn't find good aro-allo characters except Claire/ Claude from "baker thief". There is tons of good a-spec representation in that book (also more side characters that I didn't mention here), but I couldn't really find any fan-art. So then I just slapped the entire book cover on the collage.
