One thing that I never mention is just how much influence Moriarty has over Sherry--I have imagined her encountering him throughout Limbus Company's story many times, and it's really hard to describe the way he makes her feel ...
She's of course angry at him and wants to take revenge for what he did to Watson, but she does also have this nagging fear of him, too. Yes, there's the fear of him hurting the Sinners, since they're her friends, but there's also this lingering fear of knowing she could be just like Moriarty--it's the classic ''you and I, we're the same'' trope for the hero and villain. The key difference between these two is that Sherry, despite her claims, does care about others, and has developed meaningful relationships built on trust, while Moriarty views his subordinates as pawns that he can command as he sees fit.
But, since I imagine Sherry heads out alone to face Moriarty in her Canto (at first, that is--I have plans /lh), it's very easy for him to get into her head by pouncing on her decision to come along and drilling in his belief that she doesn't trust the Sinners and Dante enough to help her defeat them. That Sherry can only truly depend on herself, and no one else. And, though this is untrue, his words would be enough to make her falter, because ... well, he's right, in a way. Sherry has a very hard time trusting people after the one person she loved most was killed because she trusted him.
So, sure, she can say she went off alone because she wanted to keep the Sinners safe from Moriarty, but is that really the truth? It may appear she's thinking of them, and putting their well-being first, but isn't she truly doing this so she doesn't get hurt again? Or is it because she wants the satisfaction of bringing Moriarty down herself, without the others trying to intervene and stop her? Does her vengeance--the justice she feels she deserves--matter more to her than her friends?
That, I feel, would be her lowest point. The moment that her deepest fear has been realized--that she and Moriarty are the same.
#I feel that last question ties nicely into a question one of my OCs asks Sherry early in her Canto ... ''What would Watson want?''#would he want Sherry to pursue Moriarty to such lengths‚ for the sake of revenge?#I believe the logical answer is ''No.''#what Watson would want is for Sherry to find the happiness he always knew she deserved--and she finds that through her friends#perhaps that includes defeating Moriarty‚ but it might not#that aside ... obviously the others would show up and be able to support Sherry--but it is likely they'd have to fight her--#--in some kind of Distorted form ...#I have a few ideas for that‚ but they're still simmering#and‚ of course‚ at the end Sherry gets her shot at defeating Moriarty--but whether she succeeds or not remains a mystery#to both you reading this and myself#I'm not quite sure which direction I want it to go‚ yet#but I know her takeaway from her Canto is that she can trust people other than herself#that she's not alone ... and she isn't cold-hearted‚ either#she and Moriarty share a lot in common‚ yes‚ but they aren't the same‚ because Sherry has people who love her#si: to a great mind‚ nothing is little 🤎#oc: [Moriarty tag]#LCB Sherlock#limbus oc#scattered pages

FEATURE: The Anime Stars of Genshin Impact
Image via miHoYo
Genshin Impact has lived up to its name in that it has indeed made an impact upon the gaming world. Launched on September 26, the free-to-play open-world game has amassed $245 million in only its first month, and that's from Android and iOS alone. I'm not ashamed to say that I have sunk an unholy number of hours into this game. Why do I like this game so much? Perhaps the biggest reason Genshin Impact is so appealing to me is that I am an anime fan.
Voices from all over the world of anime can be heard in Genshin Impact, from Naruto to My Hero Academia to currently airing seasonal anime. Being able to "hear" your favorite anime character in-game is part of what makes this game so great. Let's take a look at some of the talented people from the anime industry whose voices bring the characters of Genshin Impact to life.
Paimon (Aoi Koga)
Paimon is the face of Genshin Impact. No, literally, her face is on the launcher icon. Imagine my shock when I found out she is voiced by Aoi Koga, the voice of Kaguya Shinomiya from Kaguya-sama: Love is War. The intimidatingly smart rich girl Kaguya and the squeaky and energetic (and kinda stupid) Paimon couldn't be more different. Props to Koga for making both work. Koga has also voiced Elulu from Cautious Hero, Yuri Miyata from TWOCAR, and Sora Kaneshiro from Angel's 3Piece.
Male Traveler (Shun Horie)

One of the first actions you take in the game (in most games, for that matter) is to choose your character. In Genshin Impact, you choose between two world-traveling twins, who the other characters simply refer to as "Traveler." The male Traveler (whose official name is Aether) is voiced by Shun Horie. I personally recognize him as Enta from Sarazanmai, but most would know him as Kazuya ("Kazuya-kuuuuun!") from Rent-a-Girlfriend. Some of his other roles include Ichiro Suzuki aka Satou Pendragon from Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, Rat from Juni Taisen: Zodiac War, and Hacker from this season's Akudama Drive.
Female Traveler (Aoi Yuuki)
What about the female Traveler (whose official name is Lumine)? Turns out she's voiced by Aoi Yuuki, who voices ... Mami from the same show. The irony of this coincidence is not lost on me. Yuuki is probably best known for voicing Madoka Kaname, the protagonist of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. To me, however, her most memorable role was as the titular Boogiepop in 2019's Boogiepop and Others; an unforgettable performance. She's voiced a number of other notable roles, including Tamaki from Fire Force, Tsuyu Asui (Froppy) from My Hero Academia, Tanya from Saga of Tanya the Evil, Tornado from One-Punch Man, Kayo from ERASED, Yuuki Konno from Sword Art Online II, and Hachiman's sister Komachi from My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.
Amber (Manaka Iwami)
Image via Madman Entertainment
Amber is one of the game's most popular characters, owing to her cheerful and optimistic personality. She is voiced by Manaka Iwami, the voice of Teresa Wagner in Tada Never Falls in Love, Lykos in Children of the Whales, Mizuho in Wave, Listen to Me!, and Maquia in Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms.
Kaeya (Kohsuke Toriumi)

The cool and charismatic Kaeya is, surprisingly enough, voiced by Kohsuke Toriumi, known as the voice of the hotheaded Kiba from Naruto. He has also voiced Shunsuke Imaizumi from Yowamushi Pedal, Mista from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, and Cecil from the Uta no Prince-sama franchise.
Lisa (Rie Tanaka)

A lazy and flirtatious scholar with electrical powers, Lisa is voiced by the experienced Rie Tanaka, who one might easily recognize as Lacus Clyne from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. The gentle, "sisterly" voice of Lacus suits Lisa's personality to a T. Tanaka has also voiced Yomi from Azumanga Daioh, Chii from Chobits, Sammy from Time of Eve, Maria from Hayate the Combat Butler, Chizuru from Squid Girl, and Suiginto from Rozen Maiden.
Barbara (Akari Kito)
The first Akari Kito role that catches the eye is her performance as Kotoko Iwanaga in In/Spectre; both she and Barbara have a near-identical dressing sense, with their frilly white frock and cap. Kito has also voiced Nezuko in Demon Slayer, Nene Yashiro in Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, Kaho Hinata in BLEND-S, and Suzune Horikita in Classroom of the Elite. You can also look forward to hearing her as Tsukasa in TONIKAWA and Adachi in Adachi and Shimamura this season.
Beidou (Ami Koshimizu)

Beidou is voiced by Ami Koshimizu, voice of Ryuko from Kill la Kill and Kallen from Code Geass — two popular characters from two of the biggest shows of our times. Some of her other roles include Holo from Spice and Wolf, Tenma from School Rumble, Nodoka from Saki, and Shizuri from A Certain Scientific Railgun.
Bennett (Ryota Osaka)

Bennett's design coupled with his "passionate" and "righteous" personality screams "protagonist" to me. And that's exactly what his voice actor Ryota Osaka delivers, being the voice of Eijun Sawamura from Ace of the Diamond, Nariyuki Yuiga from We Never Learn: BOKUBEN, and Ryu Yamada from Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches. His other roles include Zen Wistalia in Snow White with the Red Hair, Keiji Akaashi in Haikyu!!, Yuki Sanada in Tsuritama, Nagate in Knights of Sidonia, Ikki Kurogane in Chivalry of a Failed Knight, and Sadao Mao in The Devil is a Part-Timer!.
Chongyun (Soma Saito)

Chongyun is voiced by Soma Saito, perhaps best known as Yamaguchi from Haikyu!!. However, his breakout performance was as young Twelve in Terror in Resonance. Other notable roles include Tatsumi from Akame ga Kill, Adlet Mayer from Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers, Doppio from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, and William James Moriarty from the currently-airing Moriarty the Patriot.
Diluc (Kensho Ono)

Diluc is widely considered to be the best character in the game from a gameplay perspective. He is voiced by Kensho Ono, whose most famous voice performance is undoubtedly Giorno Giovanna, the protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. Ono is also known for his performance as the titular Kuroko from Kuroko's Basketball. Other roles include Canute from Vinland Saga, Arata from ReLIFE, Mikazuki from My Roommate is a Cat, Slaine Troyard from Aldnoah.Zero, Tanaka from Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, and Akutagawa from Bungo Stray Dogs.
Fischl (Maaya Uchida)
In what has to be the most on-point casting in this game, Maaya Uchida — best known as the voice of delusional eyepatch-wearing chunibyo (middle-schooler) Rikka from Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions — voices a delusional eyepatch-wearing chunibyo in Fischl. Well done, miHoYo, well done. She also voices Hiyori from Noragami, Norman from The Promised Neverland, Catarina Claes from My Next Life as a Villainess, Yoshioka from Blue Spring Ride, and Rui from Domestic Girlfriend.
Jean (Chiwa Saito)

Chiwa Saito (the voice of Jean) went on to become one of my favorite voice actors after I heard her as Hitagi in Bakemonogatari, Yona in Yona of the Dawn, and Homura in Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Some of her other performances include Aika in Aria the Animation, Chloe von Einzbern in Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei, and Schierke in 2016's Berserk.
Keqing (Eri Kitamura)

The energetic and hardworking Keqing is played by Eri Kitamura, known for voicing such energetic characters as Mina Ashido in My Hero Academia, Yui in Angel Beats, and Sayaka in Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She also voices Ami in Toradora!, "Chief" Yachiyo in Wagnaria!!, and Bea in Pokemon: Twilight Wings.
Klee (Misaki Kuno)
Klee has quickly become a fan favorite, partly due to her short stature and childlike demeanor. She is quite appropriately voiced by Misaki Kuno, known for voicing "childlike" characters such as Hawk from The Seven Deadly Sins, Momo Kawamoto from March Comes in Like a Lion, Shio from Happy Sugar Life, Serara from Log Horizon, Niko from Kiznaiver, and Akane from Durarara!! x2.
Mona (Konomi Kohara)
Is it a coincidence that this game has both Aoi Koga AND Konomi Kohara (who voice Kaguya and Chika in Kaguya-sama: Love is War)? I think not. Kohara's other notable roles include Akane from Tsukigakirei, Kasumi from Asobi Asobase - workshop of fun -, Mina Hibino from Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san, Shamiko from The Demon Girl Next Door, and Tsukasa's sister Chitose from TONIKAWA.
Ningguang (Sayaka Ohara)

Sayaka Ohara is known for her deep, "mature" voice — an apt fit for Ningguang. While Ohara's best-known voice role is probably as Erza Scarlet in the Fairy Tail series, she has also delivered iconic performances as Beatrice from the Umineko When They Cry visual novels and Yuuko in xxxHolic. Other well-known roles include Irisviel from Fate/Zero, Alice from Aria the Animation, Milly Ashford from Code Geass, and Mrs. Yuigahama (Gaha-mama) in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU.
Noelle (Kanon Takao)

Kanon Takao has not done a whole lot of voice roles but there are still some recognizable titles on their resume, such as Hina Tsurugi from the recently-aired Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater, Latina from If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord, Aku from Demon Lord, Retry!, and Linnea from The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar.
Qiqi (Yukari Tamura)
Qiqi is voiced by Yukari Tamura, who shot to fame as the voice of protagonist Nanoha Takamachi from the influential magical girl franchise Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Her other significant voice roles are as Togame in Katanagatari, Tenten in Naruto, Rika Furude in When They Cry, Io Euclase in GRANBLUE FANTASY: The Animation, Mai Kawasumi in Kanon, Yamada in B Gata H Kei, and Jibril in No Game No Life.
Razor (Kouki Uchiyama)
Kouki Uchiyama is known for his soft-spoken roles, especially villainous ones like Meruem from Hunter x Hunter, Shigaraki from My Hero Academia, and Rui from Demon Slayer. Even his non-villainous roles have that serious, soft-spoken nature to them — Tsukishima from Haikyu!!, Smile from Ping Pong the Animation, Natsuno from Shiki, Yu Otosaka from Charlotte, and Toi from Sarazanmai. He is a perfect fit for Razor, a menacing wolf-boy of few words.
Sucrose (Akane Fujita)

Akane Fujita (the voice actor for curious bio-alchemist Sucrose) had her breakout year in 2017 when she played Sagiri Izumi in Eromanga Sensei and Sistine Fibel in Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor.
Venti (Ayumu Murase)
Venti's naive and mischievous personality makes him the perfect fit for Ayumu Murase, best known as the voice of the cheerful and simpleminded Shoyo Hinata of Haikyu!! fame. What interests me most, however, is the fact that Murase also voiced protagonist Kazuki from Sarazanmai — between Venti, Razor, and the male Traveler, it looks like we have the entire Sarazanmai main trio assembled! Murase has also voiced Shun in From the New World, Iruma in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, and Ryo Asuka in Devilman Crybaby.
Xiangling (Ari Ozawa)
I was very excited to hear that Xiangling would be voiced by Ari Ozawa, whose performance as Chiyo Sakura in Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun (her first major role) is one of the finest I have ever seen. Ozawa has also voiced Hina Hikawa in BanG Dream! S2, Kirin Todo in The Asterisk War, Mao in Hinamatsuri, Papi in Monster Musume: Everyday Life With Monster Girls, Benitoite in Land of the Lustrous, Lynn May in Plunderer, and Conny in The Promised Neverland.
Xingqiu (Junko Minagawa)
It is quite common in the voice acting industry for male characters, especially younger ones, to be voiced by female VAs. Such is the case with refined bookworm Xingqiu. This is not the first time Junko Minagawa has voiced a male character — her first role came as Ryoma Echizen from the long-running The Prince of Tennis. Her other roles include Oz Vessalius in PandoraHearts, Cornelia in Code Geass, Sailor Uranus in Sailor Moon Crystal, and Jeanne d'Arc in Drifters.
As more characters are added to the game, we can expect more talented voice work from the people behind the scenes. Further updates have teased us with the possibility of such giants as Saori Hayami and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka joining the cast. Can't wait!

Sherlock X reader- a romance to killing it (first chapter)
Synopsis: Sherlock falls in love with a girl, but what he didn't know was that she was a murderer sent by moriarty to kill him
Sherlock X reader
Author's notes: this is my first fanfic here
I may have a spelling mistake because I am Brazilian and my English is not very good
feel free to make requests, or constructive criticism, say what you think of this fanfic so I can know if I keep writing or not
When Sherlock first saw the girl at a crime scene as a transferred detective he didn't pay much attention, he was focused on the case and thought she would just be more of an annoying cop who would just hinder him, in a matter of minutes she won her attention interrupting his remarks by saying details that went unnoticed at the crime scene, this made him question himself his observational power had never failed before. When he let his eyes fall on her, all he could see were unknown. She looked like a blank sheet of paper. He couldn't deduce anything about her and that completely puzzled him.
It was a matter of time before she became one of the closest people he has ever had in his life, perhaps the factor of thinking similarly to not understanding human feelings, or she was able to reach complex case conclusions in seconds being the most experienced person who he already knew even surpassing himself. At one point he fell in love with the girl, then she moved to Baker Street and as she was perfect, he was never frightened by the body parts in the fridge or the house, he did not interrupt him in his mental palace, nor his days in silence where he only played the violin. And he never felt bored or felt the need to use drugs, because she was a great mystery that entertained him when he had no cases to solve, he wanted to understand her and was in fact beginning to believe that love is not a chemical defect, and he accepted that if he really was, he was willing to accept such a defect.
(Y / N) was a really mysterious girl, nobody knew what she was thinking, they never knew how she would react to anything, they also had no information about her personal life or past she emerged as a ghost without anyone knowing an explanation to do so, however, their talents to solve crimes drew the attention of everyone by diverting their suspicions. The cruel truth was that the girl was a murderer, everyone in the world of crime knew her for her cold and bloodthirsty murders. She had fun with what she did, tortured victims until she was bored again, killed when she wanted or when they hired her for such a function, her life came down to that, and this time his mission was more than just ordinary murder.
Moryart told Sherlock that he would burn his heart and that was the criminal adviser's new plan, he knew that girl would be able to win over the detective and knew that he would suffer from the sad reality when he discovered that it was all just a plan, when she got tired playing house with Sherlock she might as well kill him as she wished, and her fame as a torturer gave evidence that she would destroy him physically and psychologically, it was all just a game.
A very fun game
-
Eight months passed, Sherlock and (Y / N) had a six-month relationship. Both were on an ordinary day, the girl was lying on the leather sofa staring at the ceiling, the detective was out chasing some criminal as usual. Her attention was diverted by a call which she answered simultaneously
'' This game is starting to get boring, does he keep meddling where he shouldn't and taking away my patience, when you plans to kill him? '' The girl hesitates to answer '' don't tell me you got attached to him, I expected more from you, 24 hours to kill him or others will go after him and in that case know that the target will also include you '' and so the call was disconnected without her being able to say a word.
It was a blow to the assassin's pride when she realize she had become attached to that boy, the way he thought of her intelligence, the way he looked at her as if she were the most important being on the planet with those beautiful blue eyes despite his terrible temper and difficulty expressing feelings she knew he really loved her. However, this was her job, she always knew that this moment would come.
'' Why is this so difficult? '' She yells at herself in frustration
''What is so difficult? '' She jumps up, sitting on the sofa, turns around and looks at Sherlock in the doorframe, how long had he been there without saying anything?
Without saying a word she walks up to him and hugs him making him be amazed
‘'I’m starting to get scared, you usually hate any show of affection, and you avoid them more than I’ ”he jokes
She walks away and offers him tea walking towards the kitchen where she makes one of the most painful decisions of her life.
When he returns to the other room, he hands the cup to the boy, who soon ingests the liquid and extinguishes it in his chair. She walks to the room where she picks up all her belongings, changes clothes by dressing discreetly, she would need to go unnoticed when she runs away. At the bottom of her bag is a loaded gun which she hesitantly holds. She closes her purse and walks towards Sherlock, unlit sleeping innocently with her calm face. She wished he had found out who she was, ending up in prison would be better than that.
Hours passed she walked uncertainly around the environment, he could wake up at any moment, and then in an attempt to buy time she vacates her hands by placing the gun on a support on her leg, removing handcuffs from her pocket '' doing this with him awake and a little dizzy and helpless can be better isn't it?" I always liked to see the despair in the eyes of the victims' I tried to convince herself, by closing the handcuff on one wrist she is surprised because he quickly attaches it to the other side of the handcuff.
Surprised and without knowing how to react she looks at him, he opens his eyes and looks at her seriously
‘’ I knew something was strange ’'
‘'Did you take time to realize ohh great detective, why did you hand cuff me to you?’'
‘‘Thinking fast, I deduced that it mustn’t be pleasant to be attached to a corpse ..’' he would say something but it was cut off with a gunshot
In the case the noise came from her gun which she pulled quickly and fired at an assassin at the door.
‘'I advise you to get up and follow me now Sherlock’'
‘’ What happened to nicknames like love or Sher? ’’ He asks sarcastically as he stands up and has the question completely ignored.
'' I think you've already noticed what's going on at that point .. '' he can feel the regret in her voice '' Where are we going? '' He asks being ignored as she drags him running along dark, little-moving paths from London, watching the surrounding area fearing new assassins lurking.
—
At some point she shot the handcuffs, breaking them apart, separating the two, but she forced him into a car, he silently obeyed her, but soon he couldn't contain himself.
‘'Was that car your plan for escape? ’’ She nodded saying yes in response ‘‘ have a gun in the glove compartment, I advise you to take it out just in case, there must be more assassins on the way ‘’
After that they spent hours in silence in that car until she finally parked it and was followed by him.
''Where are we ? Would you mind answering me now please ’'Sherlock asked in anguish, the whole situation was destroying him.
She closed the door locks and sat on a large sofa
‘’ This is the safest place I know, my house, the rest you deduced already ‘’ he felt hurt when she talked about that being his home, he really liked to believe that her house was on 221B with him
''You are a murderer, hired to kill me, because of the way you shot that man, you seem to do that often, can I dare to ask why? ’'
‘’ I was bored ’’ the room was flooded with silence until he got up his courage, he handed her the gun he had picked up in the car and placed next to her on the couch, he knelt in front of her.
‘'Go ahead, kill me’'she cannot help being astonished to hear Sherlock utter such words
‘'What do you think you’re saying?’'
'' Feeling is a chemical defect found in losers, I am admitting my defeat, love is in fact a dangerous disadvantage .. ’'
(Y / N) stares at him in amazement as he completes '' I really love you '' ducking his head waiting for a coup de grace from her '' Stop being so heartless and kill me .. '' he is cut by a kiss, her arms soon fall over the girl's waist and hers hug her neck. When they separate, she dries a lonely tear that drips from one of his beautiful blue eyes. ‘'I love you Sher, at first I really planned to kill you but I ended up falling in love, we’re two losers’' she hugs him
‘’ What’s going to happen now?’’ He asks fearfully '‘I’m going to murder everyone who might hurt you and protect the love of my life’ ’
It would be difficult from now on. But nothing they could not face for each other, she would surely save him.

Befriending an Enemy? Chapter 2
(Tumblr ate my post for tagging links to the previous chapters so I'll do as a reblog.)
Based off Roman’s present for Logan. There is an optional flashback in each chapter so you can either have a leisurely read (including it.) Or try to solve it. (Without reading it.)
Time was against them. They needed to figure it out as soon as possible. But where to start...? "May I advice starting with who might have a vendetta against both of you?" Logan suggested, picking up on Sherlock's slouched posture and him staring at the wall, as though lost in thought. With his index finger and his thumb he pushed his glasses back up as Sherlock gave him a small nod.
He was still shaken up. His best friend had been killed a few days ago. "Perhaps it would be wise to start with Moriarty? He's always trying to cause your life bother. And evidence does show that he has something, personal, against you.
Logan had a point. The majority of his success was down to defeating Moriarty. He would hate Sherlock enough to kill Watson, surely.
So they went off to find him. Sherlock vowed to find the murderer. He had to. It was bad enough he wasn't allowed near the crime scene since he was too close to Watson to be involved. He owed Watson the dignity of finding him.
And he had now had another like minded man at his side. One with a non clouded judgement as he never seemed to partial towards Watson whenever he was mentioned in conversation.
But it wasn't the time to worry about that. Logan would be a stepping stone in helping track Watson's murderer. And that was as good a motive as any for him to get out there and save the day just like a hero is meant to.
Once they finally found him they immediately got down to business. "Moriarty" Sherlock's voice changed from the caring 'I must solve this for my dear Watson' to a very stern tone that took Logan aback a bit. All day he had been witnesses changes in his favourite detective.
It was interesting. As though it was building up to a massive character development. But Logan decided to stop worrying and breaking the forth wall. Back to the matter at hand he said sharply, "Are you aware of the death of Watson?"
Sherlock's watched Moriarty's immediate reaction very carefully. He watched the shock set in after a second and his face changed from a blank expression to shocked. Then angry as he said "And you think I did it..." He huffed, calming himself down. "I didn't even know about all of this."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Optional flashback. Warning - Self depreciation.)
He looked in the mirror. What was meant to reflect him. What else would it reflect?
Rather than just seeing himself he saw a distorted version of himself, a puppet. As though he was a puppet in the grand scheme of things.
He thought he looked pathetic. He was just playing into the game of life. The game of life or death. Pathetic how he let himself get so attached to Sherlock only to end up so broken.
No. He wasn't the pathetic one. Sherlock was. He changed the way Watson saw everything and that made him feel inhuman.
He saw red and suddenly the glass that formed his image was now shattered around his feet and a part stuck in his hand.
If anyone asked him, it was a battle scar from work...

This is my contribution to the thelostspecial website...
AND I THINK I”VE GOT Something HUGE.
So, I was thinking, what if by “original source” they mean not the published dates of the original stories, but the actual dates of the stories when they happened within the story? As in, the dates Watson used as he wrote out his adventures with Sherlock. What’s more “original” than Watson himself?
If you take those dates into account, what order would the stories be in?
I found this website that details the stories chronologically that way, and the 40th one is listed as The Veiled Lodger, published February 27 (!!!)
YOU HAVE TO READ THIS STORY RIGHT NOW
That links you to the entire story, but here is Wikipedia’s blurb:
Holmes is visited by Mrs. Merrilow, a landlady from South Brixton who has an unusual lodger who never shows her face. She saw it once accidentally and it was hideously mutilated. This woman, formerly very quiet, has recently taken to cursing in the night, shouting "Murder, murder!" and "You cruel beast! You monster!" Also, her health has taken a turn for the worse, and she is wasting away. Mrs. Merrilow has brought this case to Holmes’s attention as her tenant, Mrs. Ronder, will not involve the clergy or the police in something that she would like to say. She has told her landlady to mention Abbas Parva, knowing that Holmes would understand the reference.
Indeed he does. It was a most tragic case in which a circus lion somehow got loose and savaged two people, one of whom was killed, and the other badly disfigured. The latter is apparently this lodger. The former was her husband. Holmes could make little of the case at the time, but perhaps if someone had actually hired him, the outcome would have been different. As it was, the inquest ruled that Mr. Ronder was the victim of death by misadventure. Still, even the local police were a bit disturbed at the time by some seeming inconsistencies in the accounts. For example, the lion was part of an act which Mr. and Mrs. Ronder performed right in its cage, and they were the ones who fed it. Why had it suddenly turned on its feeders? Why had it not tried to escape? Who was this man that several people heard screaming when supposedly Mr. Ronder had already been killed?
Upon arriving at Brixton, Holmes and Watson are shown into Mrs. Ronder’s room, which she seldom leaves. She is wearing her veil. Her purpose, it seems, is to make a clean breast of the matter before she dies. She tell Holmes and Watson that Mr. Ronder was a terrible husband, cruel and violent in the extreme, even to the circus animals, but he didn’t care, even though he wound up in the dock for it several times. He was very rich and the fines meant nothing.
Mrs. Ronder also had an extramarital lover - Leonardo, the circus strongman. Together, he and Mrs. Ronder formed a plan to eradicate the ruthless Mr. Ronder. As part of the plan, Leonardo made a club with five nails in it, which could deliver wounds that might be mistaken for those of a lion’s paw. Then one night at Abbas Parva, a small village in Berkshire where the circus was camped for the night, Mrs. Ronder and Leonardo carried out their plan. When Mr. and Mrs. Ronder went to the lion's cage to feed it, Leonardo crept up behind them and smashed Mr. Ronder’s head with the club, and Mrs. Ronder released the lion to make it appear that it had broken free and done the deed. But the lion, having sensed the blood of the now-slain Mr. Ronder, pounced on Mrs. Ronder instead, badly chewing her face up in the process. At the sight of this, Leonardo started screaming and ran to get help from the other circus members. He could have saved his lover himself by using the club on the lion, but he was too cowardly.
Mrs. Ronder could not bring herself to implicate Leonardo in her husband’s murder at the inquest, and is only now telling Holmes and Watson this story because she believes that she will soon die. She never saw or heard of Leonardo again, and later learned that he had drowned. Ever since the night of the incident, she has lived alone and veiled. Holmes only has advice to offer in this situation; realizing that Mrs. Ronder is contemplating suicide, he reminds her that her life is worth something as an example of patient suffering in an impatient world. She responds to this by lifting her veil, and the sight is ghastly.
Nevertheless, Holmes receives a bottle of prussic acid from Mrs. Ronder two days later. She was going to use it to kill herself, but upon considering what Holmes told her, she apparently thought better of it.
!!!!
Not only do we have a murderous circus animal (like Murderous Mary the elephant as given to us on the website), we have a reference to two lovers who kill the spouse of one of the lovers. This act leaves one lover drowned and the other disfigured and suicidal. This is also the story where we get the line,
“Your life is not your own. Keep your hands off it.”
A woman wears a veil the entire story, not unlike The Abomindable Bride, another special of BBC’s Sherlock and the word “Fate” is used multiple times and is always capitalized...”Faith?” Another tie in to TLD.
Other interesting pieces from the entire story include:
“The discretion and high sense of professional honour which have always distinguished my friend are still at work in the choice of these memoirs, and no confidence will be abused. I deprecate, however, in the strongest way the attempts which have been made lately to get at and to destroy these papers. The source of these outrages is known, and if they are repeated I have Mr Holmes's authority for saying that the whole story concerning the politician, the lighthouse, and the trained cormorant will be given to the public. There is at least one reader who will understand.“
So, there is a case that many are “outraged” over and Watson has the authority to release the entire true story of the “politician, lighthouse, and train cormorant” (type of aquatic bird) to the public. (Politician=Mycroft, lighthouse=Sherrinford or Barts Roof?, Cormorant=Euros or Moriarty? Perhaps the Aquatic version of Moriarty’s Magpie?) And there is a small population that will understand the story completely. Ahem. That’s us.
“You say that Mrs Ronder has been your lodger for seven years and that you have only once seen her face.'”
Could be nothing, or it could be an interesting way to describe it being seven episodes since we’ve seen the real Sherlock.
“...in an evil moment I became his wife. From that day I was in hell, and he the devil who tormented me.“
Lots of devil and hell references this series, all of them connected to Mary or Moriarty in some way.
So...what does it mean?
Well, the story is clearly pointing to John’s Alibi theory, but it also harkens back to TRF. Maybe, just maybe, the Alibi isn’t for killing Mary, but for killing one of Mary’s mirrors. Moriarty?
Perhaps in The Lost Special, the solution to Sherlock’s problem about how to defeat Moriarty (where he is currently in his MP trying to figure out) is that he includes John in the plan. They plot and plan Moriarty’s murder, just as the lovers do in The Veiled Lodger. Seeing as how Leonardo is the one who drowns, I’d say he is the John mirror and Mrs. Ronder is the Sherlock Mirror. This would especially make sense because it is Mrs. Ronder’s husband they are killing, and Moriarty is more intimately associated with Sherlock than John. It is safe to assume that John will not be cowardly though. We can predict that these two will have formed the perfect alibi for Moriarty’s murder, since the lovers in the story were never apprehended.
We can also look to TAB for solace, as Moriarty was defeated in that episode by John, after having shown up to fight by Sherlock’s side. Sherlock still jumps off the cliff though, which would imply that he does end up faking his death, but with John now in the know. They walk off into the sunset, as Mark all but confirmed they would with his, “Benedict and Martin aren’t walking off into the sunset” bit.
What say you tinhatter brood??

Sherlock's Texting in T6T
I finally garnered the courage to rewatch T6T. Well, the first 10 minutes of it, anyway. But in those first minutes, something clicked.
Lots of people were bothered by Sherlock’s texting in T6T, myself included. In particular I saw posts about how strange it was that Sherlock brushed off the request to become a godparent when finding out that he was John’s best friend left him utterly speechless. I think EMP theory came up with an explanation, and I’m open to that, but I also think there is a strong way to explain his behavior as existing in reality.
My initial interpretation was that it was a symptom of Sherlock’s panic about Moriarty and his desperation for it to play out as soon as possible (as Mary points out in TSoT, when he is scared of something he starts wishing it would happen sooner so he can get it over with). I’m sure that is part of the picture; but as a full explanation it didn’t quite fit. Not only do I have a hard time buying Sherlock not putting the fear aside in the most significant moments to show his support for John, there are moments that it feels too pointed for that; too directly aimed at–almost against–John. There are two particular examples of this during the texting montage:
1. When John asks Sherlock to be Rosie’s godfather. If Sherlock was just trying to get on with the cases the natural response would be a quick ‘yes,’ not an insulting monologue about God followed by a refusal to answer the question (even though obviously he will say ‘yes’), which will only prolong the conversation
2. Sherlock says he never reads John’s texts, even though we know from ASiB that normally he not only reads but replies to ALL of them.
So, why is this happening! Is Sherlock upset at the baby because it got in the way of his chances with John? That would be pretty messed up; but fortunately this is disproved immediately: the first scene after the montage in which he is not texting is the one in which he is playing with Rosie. Between this moment and the scene in which he shows Rosie’s picture to Mycroft, it is obvious that he adores Rosie.
But wait–after all those significant moments of Rosie’s life in which he pays her zero attention, why give her his full attention in that scene, when she’s just … sitting?
During the scene there is no real clue, until the last moment when there is a scene that seems almost extraneous: John and Mary are asleep. That is the only difference between this moment and all the others when Sherlock wouldn’t even spare the baby a glance--John isn't watching. And again when he shows Rosie’s picture to Mycroft, Sherlock seems genuinely puzzled by Mycroft’s pitiful attempt at admiration, as if he’s thinking: “how on earth could you not have something more to say about the most perfect baby ever born???” And yet Mycroft expressed about 10x more affection in that moment than Sherlock ever does in this episode–at least, in front of John.
So, I repeat: the incessant texting and lack of attention is not about the baby, and is only partly about Moriarty: it has something to do with John (and perhaps Mary).
Now, this distancing is specifically personal–Sherlock is still allowing John on cases, but he will not engage with Rosie in front of him and deletes texts beginning with 'hi’: i.e, conversational texts. All of which, of course, begs the question: why?
I have two theories:
1. In the first two seasons we saw Sherlock emotionally distance himself from John when he was afraid of Moriarty in an attempt to keep John safe. He could be repeating that pattern. That would be pretty frustrating, though, because it would mean he STILL hasn’t learned that this behavior ends up hurting both him and John; that he can only finally defeat Moriarty with John at his side–a lesson he seems to have learned in the TAB. So I prefer the second theory:
2. This is about Mary. Either Sherlock has begun to believe that she is better for John than he is and is trying to stay out of the way; or because Mary is evil he is afraid of what she might do if his love for John is too evident.
So in the end, it comes down to the same old poignant story: Sherlock is acting like a sociopath, but his underlying motivation is fundamentally emotional and driven by love.
There is nothing new under the sun
#but maybe possibly there might be on Sunday???#also I thought about addressing the soft moments later in the episode#but this post was already really long#so maybe later#sherlock#T6T#sherlock s4#spoilers#Johnlock#tjlc

Wales can do the double… no team will want to face them in the World Cup
Do the men of Warren Gatland cast a historic double? Can England reach its peak in Japan ? Are the All Blacks unbeatable?
Sportsmail asked Sir Clive Woodward, Joe Marler, Adam Jones and Chris Foy to answer the big questions. World Cup in the same year?
SIR CLIVE WOODWARD: Yes, there is no doubt about their confidence and the momentum will be enormous. To not only win the championship, but also the Grand Slam is huge. They have forgotten how they can lose. No team will want to play them. JOE MARLER: If you asked me before the Six Nations, I would probably have said no. Now I say yes, because you have to respect what they have done. They have shown that they can become ugly and they really develop with Gareth Anscombe at 10 o'clock. They have more depth than 2015 and they have a lot of confidence.

Wales has won the sublime Six Nations Grand Slam victory and is now viewing the World Cup
ADAM JONES: It will be difficult, but they have a lot of self-confidence. Young boys such as Dillon Lewis and Aaron Wainwright have been performed. They are a team that is hard to beat and have qualitative players to bring back in the form of Taulupe Faletau and perhaps Rhys Webb. They are one of the strongest teams there are. They are certainly going in the right direction.
[CHRISFOY: The Warren Gatland side has won 14 Tests in a row and is number 2 in the world, so why not? They might have a favorable route through the knockout phases, but the problem is their historical inability to upset the All Blacks.
They are certainly contenders.
They are certainly contenders.
They are certainly contenders.
They are definitely contenders. Rob Andrew said in 2015 that England will reach a peak in three years and I think that to some extent that was good – although it surprised us then! They have shown how dominant they can be when things click. That 80-minute performance against Ireland was as good as it gets.
JONES: With Maro Itoje, Mako Vunipola, Courtney Lawes and Sam Underhill to come back, they have a lot of power. I can imagine that Dylan Hartley is coming back and he is a great leader. Don't write to England yet.

FOY:
There are problems for Eddie Jones to tackle
Er his problems for Eddie Jones to tackle, especially the tendency to unravel under pressure, but England has formidable firepower. They have everything to win their pool and the future quarterfinals against Australia would have no fear. They can beat any rival on their day.
WOODWARD: The English starting team can win the World Cup, it is good at everything outside, including the All Blacks. However, there is not as much depth as people think. The key now is coaching, leadership and decision making. Can they be quickly overtaken by their disappointing halves against Scotland and Wales? There are no second chances at the World Cup
WOODWARD: No, I'm not worried about Ireland. They were shocked by the defeat of England and have not looked the same since. Now they have to get over it. Joe Schmidt is good at dealing and not in a panic because he knows they have a starting team as well as everyone else.
FOY: That's for sure. I'm sure it's a good thing, looks like this. Their victory over New Zealand in November has quickly become a blurring memory. They were terrible for many of the Six Nations, but Schmidt is clever enough to take the necessary action in the coming months. The Irish still have the descent to be a force.
<img id = "i-8b4290ffad46e449" src = "https://ift.tt/2TLRWrz image-a-29_1552946195324.jpg "height =" 423 "width =" 634 "alt =" Ireland was shocked by a shell in the Six Nations after losing to England, but must now recover "
Ireland was shocked by the Six Nations after they lost to England, but they were in the Six Nations after they lost to England, but now have to recover. MARLER: No – the great advantage of Ireland is that its players are well managed between club and country. They will not be flogged between now and the World Cup, so they must arrive in Japan with a healthy team. They have too much playing and coaching quality to not bounce back. Write Johnny Sexton at your own risk!
JONES: They have some fantastic players who had the season that someone would dream of last year, with many Leinster boys winning not only for Ireland, but also the European Cup, also. People say the favorites tag them, but I don't buy that because the Leinster boys have to win every week and are used to it.
Which bolters could you add star quality to the home countries?
MARLER: Beno Obano would have been a good shout out, but I think that England is now quite settled on Mako Vunipola, Ben Moon and Ellis Genge. It is more the case than who will make the cut. Much depends on the composition of the 31 players with whom Eddie works.
JONES: Not really a cheerful person, but if Wales can find a way to get Rhys Webb back into battle, he will add something. He is a world-class scrum half. And even though Ross Moriarty, Josh Navidi, Justin Tipuric and Aaron Wainwright are going so well, you would definitely put Faletau in the back row somewhere. Although it is difficult to change a Grand Slam winning team!
WOODWARD: For England I would take Underhill and Joe
. Underhill seems to have a great future in England and could be the key in Japan Cokanasiga Underhill can play no. 6 with Tom Curry on no. 7 – that would be a really fast return row to go out and a world cup Cokanasiga would have played against Scotland, he and Anthony Watson would have to compete for a wingspot.
FOY: For England, the obvious answer is Cokanasiga. find another way to recall Webb from his French exile, the new lock of Ireland, Tadhg Beirne, is a sinking phenomenon and in Scotland it is more about welcoming recent victims like Stuart Hogg and Huw Jones
]
Who are World Cup favorites? It is probably still New Zealand. The other team that I think could be in South Africa if they go back to the typical Springbok way of picking samples. They could cause team problems
MARLER: New Zealand is too good not to be a favorite. Brodie Retallick is a huge cog in their attacking game. He is their talisman. They are the team to beat and, annoyingly, they know it! Steve Hansen will be happy to go out when it is his last game in charge.
WOODWARD: New Zealand. They were a fascinating Six Nations, but the All Blacks are still No 1 in the world and favorites for the tournament. The northern challenge is growing, but nobody is in a position to look at the favorites.
FOY: New Zealand. No question. The rush to cheer Ireland at the end of last year was wildly premature. Steve Hansen's side has the pedigree and deserved long-term status as the No. 1 in the world. They have lost their aura of invincibility, but they remain the team to beat.
Will the southern hemisphere dominate? No. It would be wrong to regard the world ranking as an impeccable guide to the hierarchy, but Wales has risen gloriously, while England and Ireland will feel they can see the southern opposition in the last eight. All three were able to join New Zealand in the semi-final.
JONES: Two of the northern hemisphere in the last four would be ideal, but Australia always has a good game in it, the Boks are a good side and then there is New Zealand . But looking at Wales, England and Ireland – in the form of last year – it will be difficult for the southern hemisphere. We could get three in the semi-final.
WOODWARD: Across the board, this is the strong set of northern hemisphere challengers we've had. Wales and England are two of the semi-finalists, with New Zealand and South Africa the other two – so that would be two Six Nations teams in the semi-final than four years ago!
MARLER: It is wide open but I think the Northern Hemisphere teams will have the lead this time. In 2015, everyone discovered that the teams from the southern hemisphere were so much more at a loss. Now you have guys like Curry, Hamish Watson and Navidi, who really closed that gap.
Is France a lost cause? Absolutely not. The moment you write them off, they come through strong. They look pretty good in the World Cups, have reached the final three times and should have won in 2011. That the game England vs France is not a done deal. They could lose from Tonga and beat England! They have to stop talking about 2023, it's about 2019.
MARLER: Yes … unless they get rid of their coach! The alternative is that they retain their coach and then rebel a player in Japan. That way the players choose their own team and it's yours all the way to the end! They've done it before … that's their best guess.
<img id = "i-eb03ac155c82f69d" src = "https://ift.tt/2FfvqNq image-a-39_1552946645054.jpg "height =" 423 "width =" 634 "alt =" France could make an impact on the World Cup, but it would have to make different changes "at the World Cup, but would have to make different changes"
France could make an impact on the World Cup, but it would have to make several changes
JONES: Everything would happen in the next few months could change for France – who knows – they chose a team against Wales that looked like a typical Top 14 side with a giant suit and it looked good for half, but they are not fit enough at the moment. Ireland in a false sense of security by not being very good, but a good preseason can change things.
FOY: At first glance, the Gallic malaise seems terminal, but it is not. They are a murmur at the moment, but do not rule out regime change for the World Cup or another tournament coup. They will continue to encourage new talent such as rookie-prop Demba Bamba and playmaker Romain Ntamack
Will all Six Nations teams qualify for their pool?
JONES: France or England could slide against Argentina. The Wales group is not ideal, but I expect Ireland, Scotland and England to qualify. Italy will find it difficult with New Zealand and South Africa in their swimming pool, although
WOODWARD: Everyone except Italy should get through it. England and France are the only ones who are concerned at this stage. England must be wary to defeat Argentina and France, who will not fear them. Ireland and Scotland are not in danger and Wales will also qualify.
<img id = "i-6da2ee5f7ba2f33c" src = "https://ift.tt/2TNRw3V image-a-40_1552946723651.jpg "height =" 423 "width =" 634 "alt =" <img id = "i-6da2ee5f7ba2f33c" src = "https://ift.tt/2Y6pO0I /18/22/11157214-0-image-a-40_1552946723651.jpg "height =" 423 "width =" 634 "alt =" Sir Clive Woodward feels that he will not have enough to qualify from his group at the World Cup. Italy will not have enough to qualify from their group at World Cup "
Sir Clive Woodward believes Italy does not have enough to qualify from their group at World Cup
FOY: Italy is damned outright, sitting in the same swimming pool as New Zealand and South Africa, and has no chance to evolve.
It would be great to see a tier two side in the knockouts, but I think it will be the six Nations teams, plus New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.
