Sonic 3 spoilers!!! Talking about the mid credits scene/what people have been saying about it under the cut

feeling like the only one who doesnt want reverse sonamy for the movies </3

or more accurately, fine sonic can have an obvious crush on her but i dont want ‘reverse sonamy’ to mean ‘amy doesnt have a crush on sonic.’ she can be lowkey about it or whatever (like sonic is sometimes in the games/other media) but to me part of Who She Is is that shes this super cool, super strong, intelligent fighter but shes also still a young girl who has crushes and believes in fate and is guided by her compassion, not by her strength or her mission or her love of adventure.

shes such a good character because while she is physically strong and possibly slightly magic, those are equally as important as her love and compassion and care for the world and people around her. preserving amys girlhood is important to me like loving sonic isnt her single defining character trait bc she ‘has to have a crush on a guy’ but it is a main character trait because thats just who she is. a loving person who sees the good in the world and wants to protect it and loves sonic because she sees him as the embodiment of that

They make me sick

I haven’t put much thought into Bob (I can’t, it’ll hurt me if I do) but just from what we know about him- the comparisons to Dally, with how they’re both reckless and dangerous, the parallels with Soda- how he’s charming, charismatic, but quick to anger- and the parallels with Steve, how Pony compares Bob/Randy to Steve/Soda…

I think he loved Cherry as much as Soda loved Sandy. I think he was sweet to her, good to her. Maybe even shy sometimes. I can’t fully get into his head- like, I don’t understand why he jumped Johnny. I dunno what it’s like to be in Bob’s situation, really. But I think Bob loved Cherry a lot. I don’t think he fully understood her though. I don’t think anyone did- why else would she care so much when Ponyboy did?

I’d love to see more of them to understand them better, because there’s so much to unpack there and it’s really interesting.

A couple of points:

1. Casting a 30-something black guy to play Snape is significantly less immersion-breaking than casting a 60-something white guy. I say this with all due respect and love for Alan Rickman. Snape being pale is not actually important to the plot. Snape being in his 30s is.

2. I never threw a fit about the Alan Rickman casting because it wasn’t a big deal and I can suspend my disbelief. Just throwing that out there.

3. He’s pretty! I don’t care that Snape isn’t supposed to be pretty; the fandom always treated him as if he was anyway. Think about the fangirls!

4. I have every intention of watching this show, and there is virtually no chance of anyone on the woke left or the woke right talking me out of it.
