percys like 'oh you wanna sit here?' awkwardly and gets up but nico grabs his shirt and pulls him back down before quietly asking 'how did bianca die.' and percy can hear the tears and he pauses caught off guard and takes a second to collect himself before giving a blunt explanation of what happened and nico asks 'did you look for her' and percys like 'fucking of course we did' and says that he doesnt know how long they looked for but he guessed the other three looked for an hour and percy thinks for a few seconds before saying he genuinely cant remember much after biancas death and nico silently leans against percy and says 'you did keep your promise.' and percys abt to ask what he means but nico isnt done and says 'you said youd try to protect her. and you did try.' and percys starts to cry and wraps an arm around nico before saying how if he had the chance he would go in her place without a second thought and nico sits up straight suddenly and turns his entire body to percy and asks 'how old were you.' and percy says he was 14 and before he could say anything else nico says '*im* 14.' and percy kinda just stares at him for a bit before he starts fully sobbing because he knows nicos a child, in percys mind hes a baby, and he was the same age percy was when bianca died and slowly he learns to accept the fact that biancas death wasnt his fault.

i don't know man. but sometimes i think about percy breaking the news to nico that his sister's dead. and nico plummetting into depression, screaming at the boy he once thought of as a hero to die. and percy watching this ten-year-old disappear into the shadows mid sobbing. and percy's shaking and traumatized and exhausted. but he forces that pain down his throat and accepts the role as the prophecy kid so nico has a chance to create a future he wants. while percy's is set in stone. and i don't know man.

Hades came, he served absolute looks, he blackmailed his nephew, he grossly misjudged the situation, his daddy issues got triggered, he did a complete 180 by deciding yes actually he is going to steal his brother's shit, that backfired, and now arguably he's more confused than he was before Percy broke into his castle.

And that's Nico and Bianca's DAD.

thinking about how they said grover was affected the most out of everyone bc he was alone and how nico and bianca stayed for 70 years inside that hotel and didn't forget each other bc they were always within reach and how that little detail makes their story even more devastating bc they got through it together and the moment they got out they get separated and then bianca never comes back

There’s something extremely heartbreaking about Nicos cameo/first words in the show being him looking for Bianca. He’s always going to be the little boy looking for his big sister. Season three is going to be the end of me.

something about Hephaestus saying "you're a good kid, Annabeth" really stands out to me. he didn't point out the very obvious about her, like her intellect and interest in his creations, or her hubris in thinking she could dismantle the chair. he said that she's a good kid. because Hephaestus was mistreated by the gods. because Annabeth was shunned by Athena. because he believes that gods shouldn't treat their own children like that and he wants to be better. because he knows how much it means to a little girl who's fought for approval from her own mother her whole life, whose father neglected her. because he wants to break the cycle. don't touch me

no. nonononono. you don't get it. how would YOU feel if all your life, you've been nothing but an older sibling?? nothing but a caretaker?? bianca yearned to feel part of something, to be needed and wanted. she didn't 'abandon' nico, she abandoned herself just to take care of him for so many years and when they finally found shelter (camp half-blood) she made the decision to finally do something for herself. let my baby rest, she didn't do anything wrong and i will go through hell defending her!!!!
