The Life Dream

imagine life being like those dreams where you understand something while dreaming, like “speaking another language” in a dream, and then you wake up, and it’s not so clear, and/or you don’t remember. such an interesting idea.

imagine life being a dream, and we understand things as we experience them, but once “out of” the dream, it’s not so clear, and/or we don’t understand them, maybe we do and don’t, or we “see” them from a more free and open “view”. they were made-up concepts. we speak words, thinking that we know what they mean (and in the dream, we do), and using them to create stories, stories that are “perceptions” and “concepts”.

and then maybe “someday” our “minds”, our “beingnesses” are more freed and open, and we “see” the perceptions and concepts that we created and were taught. and maybe “someday” there is just connection and existence and beingness. we are here to experience life, to experience living. it’s like a dream.

“circumstances” are seen through “perspectives” and assigned “meanings”. and you can decide what “meanings” and “names” you give to them. occurance, being, happening — try to imagine observing things without “categorizing” or “naming” them.

sometimes, I have hoarding dreams where I keep trying to pick up and collect things, and if I were to become lucid and realize that I’m dreaming, then I can stop and do something else, explore, etc. reality is subjective in dreams just as it is in “waking” life. it is flexible, moldable.

and what if we “woke up” one day and discovered that this life, too, is a dream? maybe all life is a type of dream, maybe every reality is a type of dream, maybe every “aspect” is a type of dream. in some ways. real and surreal. imagined and perceived.

think about it. what is dreaming? it is imagining, perceiving, experiencing, etc. what is life, but imagining, perceiving, and experiencing? so, in ways: you. are. dreaming.

Nothing will dispell the "the curtains were just blue" myth faster than writing something yourself, because the amount of pretentious symbolism i am putting in my silly little fanfics is ridiculous. I mean SO much with these words, literally every single one of them. This fic has twenty five typos and zero correct uses of punctuation but if there's curtains you bet your ass I put thought into what colour they were.
