Transfiguration Classroom - Nov. 20 - word count: 659 - @wolfstarmicrofic

The Transfiguration classroom was buzzing with quiet chatter as Professor McGonagall taught about advanced human-to-animal transfiguration. 

Remus Lupin and Sirius Black sat at the back of the room, side by side as always, quills in hand and parchment scattered across the desk. 

“Moony,” Sirius whispered, leaning close, his breath brushing against Remus’s ear.

“Pay attention,” Remus murmured, his eyes fixed on his parchment.

“I am,” the dog animagus replied, grinning wickedly. “To you.”

The taller boy bit the inside of his cheek to keep from smiling. “You’re incorrigible.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Sirius whispered.

Their hands brushed under the desk- an innocent enough motion, except that Sirius lingered, his fingers lightly tracing the back of Remus’s hand. 

He shot him a warning look, but the noiret only raised an eyebrow, his smirk deepening.

From the front of the room, Professor McGonagall cleared her throat, her sharp eyes flicking briefly in their direction. Both boys immediately snapped their attention to her, though Sirius’s fingers didn’t move.

When the lesson ended, McGonagall dismissed the class with her usual brisk efficiency. When the two boys made to leave, though, she spoke up. “Lupin. Black. A word, please.”

Remus and Sirius exchanged a glance, confusion and apprehension flashing between them. They traipsed to her desk as the rest of the class filtered out, James and Peter shooting them curious looks on their way to the door.

McGonagall waited until the room was empty before she folded her hands on her desk and fixed them with her signature stern gaze.

“I assume you two think you’re being subtle?”

Remus blinked. “Subtle about what, Professor?”

The Transfiguration professor arched an eyebrow, unimpressed. “Mr. Lupin, Mr. Black, I’ve been teaching for longer than either of you have been alive. Do you truly believe I haven’t noticed the... antics taking place at the back of my classroom?”

Sirius, for once, looked genuinely caught off guard. “Antics?”

McGonagall sighed. “The whispered conversations. The not-so-inconspicuous hand-holding. The way you”- she pointed at Sirius- “look at Mr. Lupin as if he were your world.”

Remus turned bright red, his mortification only deepening when Sirius gave a smug grin.

“Well, he is,” Sirius said breezily.

The professor pinched the bridge of her nose. “Mr. Black, I assure you, your devotion is apparent to everyone in this castle with a pair of functioning eyes.”

“Now,” she continued, “while I don’t make a habit of involving myself in my students’ personal lives, I must insist that you refrain from turning my classroom into your personal courting grounds.”

The older boy opened his mouth, presumably to make a cheeky comment, but McGonagall cut him off with a look that could curdle milk.

“And for Merlin’s sake,” she added, her lips twitching ever so slightly, “if you insist on continuing these... displays, at least give the rest of us fair warning before you take a roll in the hay together.”

There was a moment of stunned silence as her words sank in. Then:

“Professor!” Remus exclaimed.

Sirius stared at her, mouth agape. “Did you just-?”

“I believe we’re done here,” McGonagall said briskly, standing and gathering her papers. “Good day, gentlemen.”

They left the classroom in stunned silence, their faces still burning as they made their way to the Gryffindor common room.

“What did she want?” James asked the moment they stepped inside, lounging in an armchair, with Peter playing chess with Mary on a nearby table.

The dog animagus collapsed onto the couch, shaking his head in disbelief. “She knows.”

“Knows what?” Peter asked, confused.

“Everything,” the werewolf muttered, sinking down beside Sirius and covering his face with his hands.

James leaned forward. “What do you mean everything?”

“She caught us,” Sirius said dramatically. “And then she made a joke.”

The glasses-wearing boy’s eyebrows shot up. “McGonagall? Made a joke?”

“A dirty one.”

James’s jaw dropped.

“I think I need to lie down,” Peter declared.

“I think we all do,” James muttered.

I got bored and made a future Moomin valley AU and gave them all little happy families

So my Moomin valley fixation came back after like 5 whole years, and originally these were just meant to be one off little ship kid concepts but I grew attached to them and the idea of it and eventually it kinda evolved into a next generation AU in the span of like 3 days… Hope I’m not too late to the party chat…

I’ve been thinking up a LOT about this AU, but I’ll just give a basic run down rlly fast:

Lumi and Linna are best friends and basically take over the roles of snufkin and moomin, who are now lumis parents, the AU is very slice of life and follows a lot of the main lessons from the original moomin shows (Especially a veeeerrryyy familiar dilemma about a friend feeling sad over one choosing to leave for the winter)

Lumi is similar to Snufkin where she has a big urge to get away from social situations and be on her own, and can really only spend prolonged amount of time with her parents (or Linna in certain situations). Despite looking almost exactly like snufkin, she acts a lot like Joxter and it’s no suprise the two are actually very close especially considering their equal love for sleeping and hating authority. Despite her love for sleeping and her indifference to the idea of hibernation, ever since Lumi was able to choose she’s always chose to go south with Snufkin. Even if this makes Linna sad.

Linna is much more social than Lumi, and doesn’t mind speaking her mind and having fun with others. She takes after Snorkmaiden with her love for Romance, and often fantasizes about her “Prince Charming.” Linna, unlike Lumi, has hibernated for all her life, even after she was given the option to hibernate or not, she often wishes that Lumi would stay for the winter, but Lumi is insistent on traveling, but the two are always happy to meet again during the spring and go on their normal adventures. She usually acts as the “pact leader” and is often the one leading the games and day plans, but Lumi helps take charge when they are going on adventures as she is best at it.

There’s a couple side characters that are turned into more important roles, like for example in this AU the joxter is actually a reoccurring character !! (Let’s just pretend that Joxter and Snufkin met & rekindle their relationship and so now Joxter gets to be a silly grandfather!!)

That’s pretty much the basic rundown, and yes I did choose to ship snorkmaiden and Ninny, it was last minute but I thought it’d be actually rlly cute unironically.

Anyways Here’s some extra doodles I made cause I wanted to attempt to replicate Tove’s doodling style to finish off this post, so enjoy these!! And thank you for reading!!

No Strings Attached

As midnight struck, Mickey felt his strings snap and he immediately crumpled to the ground. He tried to get up but only made it as far as his knees before he collapsed again.

Lying on his back, staring up at the stary night sky above, Mickey became aware of a strange whimpering sound. It took him a few moments to realise he was the one making those noises. Tears rolled down his cheeks.

He distantly wondered if he could lie there forever; just stay there until the ground claimed his bones. It seemed so much easier than the alternative. He was so, so tired.

“Mickey!” the voice sounded far away but he recognised it instantly. “Mickey!”

No, he wouldn’t give up. He couldn’t. He wasn’t the only one who’d had his strings cut.

Angry with himself, Mickey scrubbed the tears away. Then he balled his hands into fists and with a great effort of will, pushed himself into a sitting position.

“Mickey, where are you?”

“Min…” he started to answer but that was all he managed before he started coughing. He tried to stop but it only seemed to get worse.

“Mickey!”

She must have heard him because he could hear her running towards him. A moment later and she was there, flower in her hair and worry on her face.

“Oh Mickey!” She dropped to her knees beside him and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. He continued to cough and she rubbed circles on his back until, at last, his body relaxed and he could breathe properly.

“It’s okay,” she reassured him, still holding him. “It’s going to be okay.”

Mickey hugged her back. He realised he was crying again and made an effort to stop. He opened his mouth and tried to speak for the second time. This time he managed it.

“Minnie.” Mickey stopped. He didn’t recognise his own voice. It was horse from all the coughing but it was more than that.

His eyes widened is shock as realised it was the first word he’d ever spoken. Oh, words had come out of his mouth before but he’d never been the one making the decision to say them.

“Minnie,” he said again. “We’re free.”

Honestly, I do love the fact the pettiness from Mickey Rouges is mostly one sided, sure Mick can be cheeky, but he's still willingly to save them from getting themselves killed and let them get there matters in order when there being genuine.

Like come on Squinch, Mickey gave soild despite you tricking him and trying to kill him.

Oh don't remind of the time Portis sent him to comic dimension to get rid of him.

depaite of that even though Mickey is completely done with him and even physically fights him, he's still willing to share those that snack with him.

And before he found out he was only here that treasure, he was comforting and celebrating with him when they got the boat out.

Like Mickey is stronger than me strong than me because I love Pete, but if he broke into my house and my food, I would be on the news.

Like you guys know that Mickey doesn't have to do this, but you're still on that hater shit 😭
