The second Mina and Nayeon got home from running errands, the little laid face down on the couch. She didn't want anyone to talk to her or touch her.

"Do you want to come to the store with mama? I've gotta run a few errands and I don't want to leave my little angel all alone." Nayeon crouched down by the little who was contently coloring a picture of a Christmas tree in.

Mina looked up at her mama and thought for a second. She most certainly didn't want to be left alone in the house, but she didn't really want to go out shopping either. It was always too bright and loud.

Making up her mind, Mina got up and gently took her mama's hand, following her to the front door. Nayeon helped the little put her shoes on before picking her up and grabbing the car keys.

Mina wasn't the biggest fan of car rides due to them usually meaning she was going to be placed somewhere new, but her mama made sure to make them extra comfy for her. She'd always turn Mina's favorite music on, and now that it was winter, she'd keep it extra toasty.

The first store Nayeon had to go to was an arts and crafts store to pick up wrapping paper. One of the other social workers she worked with had a birthday coming up and she had the gift for the woman, but no wrapping paper.

The first store wasn't too bad. They were playing Christmas music and there were lots of Christmas decorations and Christmas themed craft supplies for Mina to look at while her mama picked out a wrapping paper.

"Mama! Pengi!" Mina held up the unpainted wooden ornament and showed it to her mama. Nayeon glanced down at it and smiled, looking back to the little.

"Do you want mama to get it for you? You can paint it and put it on our tree." Nayeon let out a small laugh when Mina excitedly nodded her head. She picked out the wrapping paper she wanted and Mina's ornament before checking out and heading to the next store.

The second store was fun as well. Nayeon's friend — and the woman she happened to have a huge crush on — Jeongyeon was throwing a house warming party. Jeongyeon had just moved into a new apartment and invited Nayeon over for a party that weekend. Even though she told Nayeon not to bring anything, Nayeon still wanted to bring something.

The second store, oddly enough, was the Lego store. Mina loved Legos and was more thana happy to look at all the sets while her mama picked out a little home set for her friend. There were a few sets that Mina wanted herself, but she had never been brave enough to ask for them.

The only gifts that Mina had gotten before were from the care facility for her birthday and Christmas and from the second placement. She had played with Legos with the other littles at the care facility, but she had never had any of her own.

As Nayeon picked out the small house that she wanted to get for Jeongyeon and looked down at Mina, her heart broke. Mina was so patiently and calmly looking at all the Lego sets, particularly fixated on a set with penguins.

When Mina had first gotten to the care facility and Nayeon was assigned as her social worker, Nayeon read through her file about a million times. She kept an eye on her whenever she'd visit some of the kids at the care facility and she noticed that Mina was almost always playing with Legos.

Making a mental note to pick the set up later that Mina seemed to really wanted, she took the little's hand and checked out with Jeongyeon's housewarming gift.

The last two stores were Mina's least favorite. Mina always hated grocery stores, and Nayeon liked to shop at the big ones so she could get most of what she needed in only one or two stores.

Mina hated the huge LED lights and there was always an annoying buzz from the lights that made her ears hurt. In the grocery stores, Mina didn't leave Nayeon's side. She held onto her mama's shirt sleeve the whole time, jumping at any sudden noises from a cart bumping into a shelf or the voice over the speakers.

Unfortunately, Nayeon needed to spend the most time in the grocery stores. She had to stock up for the week, so Mina was left to try and not have a meltdown in the middle of the two stores.

By the time they finished up at both grocery stores, Mina was one little noise away from ending up on the floor and crying her eyes out. Nayeon could tell by the way the little was more quiet than usual and how Mina was clinging onto her arm.

Nayeon quickly checked out of the second grocery store and tossed the groceries into the trunk of the car. It took a little coaxing to get Mina into the passenger seat, but eventually, Nayeon was able to drive the little home as quietly and peacefully as she could.

Nayeon set her bags down by the front door and put the groceries away as quickly as she could. Once she was finished, she sifted through the bags, looking for the unpainted wooden penguin decoration Mina picked out.

Nayeon gently sat down on the couch by Mina’s legs. “Do you want your penguin, sweet pea?”

Mina shook her head and let out a muffled whine into the couch before turning around to get close to her mama but still far enough away that she wasn’t touching her.

Knowing Mina still needed a little time to recover from such a hard day out, Nayeon set the penguin decoration on the coffee table. She sat back on the couch and pulled her phone out and put her legs up on the extended part of the couch.

For a while, Mina just laid face down beside her mama. She liked that it was quiet and she didn’t have to hear anyone or anything.

Once Mina had calmed down a bit, she looked up at her mama, eyes a little glossy with tears. She sat up and crawled over to her mama, looking up at her with a frown.

Nayeon set her phone down on the arm of the couch and looked down at the little, heart aching at how tired she looked. “Do you want to lay on mama, angel?”

Mina gave her mama a small nod and crawled onto her lap. She curled up as small as she could, head tucked into her mama’s chest.

The second Nayeon’s hands came to rest on Mina’s back, all of the day’s problems slowly faded away. Mina closed her eyes and focused on her mama’s heartbeat and the feeling of her mama’s gentle touch.

“You did such a good job for me today, angel.” Nayeon quietly spoke, tracing small, mindless shapes into Mina’s back. “Thank you for going out with me today. I know it was tough for you.”

Mina let out a small whimper and tucked her head further against her mama, wishing she could just melt into her.

“Do you mind if I turn the TV on? I’ll keep the volume low.”

Mina nodded and kept her eyes closed. The quiet hum of the characters speaking on the TV and the feeling of her mama’s warm hands were enough to lull her into a better headspace. Mina felt safe in her mama’s arms.

p.p.s. this is basically a post for no one im not even particularly invested in mob votes theyre kind of a busted concept and tbh i haven't played the 'craft in a while

Is it bad that I hc Meta being very good at art and crafts? Especially in the arts of knitting and embroidery? I just kinda want to give one of my fav charaters a nice little hobby to do when stressed or just wants to relax in other ways.

Totally!, considering that in the anime Meta did make himself a pengi disguise (a really good one btw, no visible stitches) I like to think he probably makes his own and kirby's clothes (this includes any sweaters or scarfs for winter!) :)

i’ve been doing a whole lot for my lil guild lately! i upgraded the scribing area, tavern, marketplace, and war room within the last couple of months and tonight i spent a bunch of time crafting some new decorations. 

i tried to make a little library room for dana cus i thought those bookcases were so cute. ^^ and of course pengy’s uhhh... human ritual pyramid is still there. :) 

i’m super excited to work on some other areas!!!! my wallet, however, is not excited!!

Pengi RPG v.0.7 Patch Notes - Collectibles+Crafting!

Game-changing update! Excalibur and Chains of Heaven are easier to obtain!

Every so often, a collectible will appear near an enemy. This collectible will remain on-screen until the !collect command is used. They come in two types:

Sword Fragments - Collect 3 to craft Excalibur (-30% next boss HP)

Chain Links - Collect 3 to craft Chains of Heaven (x1.5 dmg next boss)

Accessing Stage 2 now makes all enemies easier to kill! This should give some incentive to beat the Stage 1 boss. I’ll monitor how this affects the game, then make more changes for 0.7.1.
