Tide grunted as his back hit the wall, surprised by how much it hurt, and Wavelength went still. Tide couldn’t read Wavelength’s expressions, not when he was wearing that mask, but Tide had spent a lot of time learning the secrets of Wavelength's body language and knew that he was surprised, too. “It wasn’t- not just the water,” Tide said after a moment to catch his breath. He felt that some reassurance was in order. “Some enhanced strength, too. Tougher skin, greater durability. But not much. I'm not hurt.” — Tide lost his powers. Mark gives them back. The Freedom City Pool Centre should probably be closed down for business.

Did you ever watch the 100? Because GS if giving serious Jason Rothenberg vibes and we know he intentionally tanked character when their portrayers pissed him off. (I can give further details if needed)

Yes, I did. And I agree 100%.

For those that don't know, and you can google too if you want deeper details, but Jason Rothenberg was the "creator" of a show called The 100 on the CW (I use creator loosely; it's actually a book series. He just strayed away from the source material a fair bit). He was basically known for killing off/tanking characters when he had fallingouts with the actors; there was even reported racism at play with him with one of the actors, Ricky Whittle. Yeah, these instances were basically the same as it is with Upstead and Jay fans now, with even people who don't ship them, don't really like Jay, being like, 'WTF is this?'. JR was also known for getting really pissy and even vengeful on characters in retaliation to fans who questioned his takes and storylines at cons and shit.

So yes, GS and JR are cut from the same cloth in some ways or so it seems.

reading studies of avpd and social anxiety make me want to punch through some drywall, i feel like i'm losing my mind.

translation: "we want to eliminate your specific diagnosis and just call it this less scary-sounding thing because then more professionals will agree to stuff you full of drugs and use our favorite method of professional gaslighting on you until you act normal."

and don't get me wrong, i'm not against medication by any means (i've spent the last 6 years fighting to get some for my adhd, i'd be a massive hypocrite if i said i was against it) and i know there are people who genuinely benefit from cbt, but you can't deny this statement is just dripping with ulterior motives.

really makes you question the reliability of how the data itself is being presented, doesn't it?
