When Karme first won the keys to the Athena's Hand, he developed a bit of a complex about his vessel. Between him knowing Lady Juliana would have rather given it to anyone else and suspecting that all who heard about it assumed the opposite and believed nepotism was at play, it wasn't until Beastbane's mission that Karme began to develop some real confidence as a pilot. True, around Vulcan's Vessel there were whispers and looks from the other Apprentices due to "someone like him" having the right to fly Lady Juliana's very first Skytrol-fueled airship, but Karme was getting over that in his own time. Again, a simple affirmation from Polaris made all the difference.   "It is! And it's a lot of fun too! One day, I'm going to get to fly it alongside a dragon. My friend promised me and elvhen can't lie so it's going to happen! Before that though, I do have to modify it to have a grabby-hand or a large basket or something. Harold—that's another friend of mine—will probably need to climb aboard eventually. Now, I could just use a spell to make him smaller, but I think because his companion is a scary witcher he'll keep thinking I'm a snack if I use magic on him. I want to be able to pet him without getting swallowed, so if I can figure this addition out it may endear him to me. I won Torty over—another friend and practically a best friend now—with the best handjob I've ever given, but that won't work for Harold. Really, I want to be able to have all my friends and my boys riding with me to some fun adventure. If I can't use my tools to protect and have fun with the people I care about then what's the point of having them?" Wow, Karme really did have a lot of friends now didn't he? He couldn't be happier.   Luckily for him, Polaris was certainly not in the friend category, especially not after those kisses they shared. He felt seen, desired, and taken seriously by the other, so much so that even a brief peck made his heart flutter. Karme tried to hide his enamorment as best he could because he loathed the idea of just being friends with Polaris, but it bubbled up in small ways he couldn't help. From the rosy color of his cheeks when he acted like he wasn't staring at how handsome Polaris was to the tiny jig his feet did when the elvhen squeezed his hand. Karme was happy, and not because he got to make out and hold hands with probably the most attractive man he'd ever met, but because he got to do so while being himself. Polaris let him be himself, without shame or ridicule. That honestly meant the world to Karme because he liked and admired Polaris so much.   "I don’t know. I've been ratcheting parts together for as long as I can remember, but that may be a Genovian thing." Karme never wished to belong to another family, no matter how badly his house made him feel. He'd like to think he'd always have become an Olympian, but would he have chosen a different patron had the pattern twisted in another direction? "I think … I think I was born to create. Even if I was born to another family, I'd like to think I would've ended up an Apprentice no matter what. Because if that was true, it'd mean I was right about myself. There's something only I can make, I just have to take my time and figure out what that is," he shares with a smile. Karme liked the sound of his own words so much that he started to beam at Polaris. "Is it like that for you? Honestly, I could see you having become a diplomat or even a performer! How did you choose sculpting in The Harmonium, and do you think you'd have chosen a non-bardic path if born under different circumstances?"

"I'll keep that in mind, that ship of yours is convenient." In times like these having an expedient means of getting around the continent was a rare luxury.

Intrusively Polaris's thoughts drifted momentarily to the notion that they might test the parameters of what noise this box could muffle. When this place was his he'd repurpose the largest of them and instill whatever wards were necessary - that was a modification he could lean on Karme for at a later date. Until then he'd let his mind's eye entertain the course that throbbed at the back of his mind: watery eyes, warmth, and wet with the tender bristle of Karme's soft, brown hair threaded between Polaris's fingers.

Polaris leaned in as Karme stood beside him and punctuated the departing thought with a soft press of his lips against Karme's. Chaste, just as the other's had been. "That's going to change someday."

The crisp, open night air brought a welcome sense of sobriety. Even as it teetered toward the later hours, the city felt alive in every way. The bustling, relentless streets harkened evening hours as the distant murmur of the crowds moving through Mercury's Bazaar drifted to the exterior of the Comedy Keep.

Polaris's fingers remained entwined with Karme's, hand in hand, Polaris gave the other an affirming squeeze before he led the way.

"Did you always want to be an inventor?" That was the best way that Polaris could define it: sorcerer and artificer felt hollow but the question scratched at something inherently curious at the back of the dragon's mind. Understanding was one of several of his goals and while they'd had their share of distractions tonight, Polaris was looking forward to getting to know Karme more intimately. Polaris could've also guessed that any Chrystanthos would be pushed toward the industry by some measure, even if it was active discouragement. "Could you say this was the path you'd have chosen if you were born into a different family?"

I've finished Etho's s7 hermitcraft so guess who's back with a slightly updated/slightly consolidated list of things about ethoslab I have noticed! or just enjoy!

I have no idea when he learned to noteblock. I don't know if he knows. he knows how to noteblock tho. he's really good at it.

on that note, did you know that there is not a single piece of non-noteblock music in etho's s7 after the first episode? there might not even be any in the first episode. every single timelapse or montage is set to noteblock music

(he sang along to parts of his paper planes noteblock cover too. he was going shopping. I was entirely too delighted)

(also, there is some like...sitcom music theme that I don't know what show it's from. it's bothering me that I don't know. what you need to know is that throughout his s7 etho uses said sitcom theme as the transition before Shenanigans With Fellow Hermits clips play. his life is a sitcom. yes it is the noteblock version.)

I think that etho desperately needs minigames for enrichment. if he's not playing one he's working on one. he needs them and he will let them completely consume his life

the etho decked out 1 runs are hilarious, partially because it's funny to see him play it and realize how absolutely insane decked out 2 is, and how much of a madlad tango is. etho is still the same menace with great luck and skills. I had forgotten about the hole to the void in the middle out decked out 1 tho, that was a fun reminder

etho could make a career out of translating classic type games into minecraft. he kind of has, but it's a pattern.

he also keeps coming up with new games that are minecraft only and is good at figuring out how to balance them well.

again, king of minigames. he will in fact analyze them as much as possible. he caught on to the pattern of impulse's whack a mole game in like...2 rounds? maybe 3? he's good at pattern recognition and will put it to good use no matter the minigame

etho, I cannot stress this enough, is a little shit and enjoys being such. free glass is obviously an iconic moment, but I had forgotten about him scamming scar out of diamonds for "information" about the resistance, or about sneak-e-e's business model (you can't tax what you can't find!), or about how he kept being extremely ridiculous with beef in regards to record shop payments...the list goes on

etho is also very competitive. I mentioned this in the last list, but man...he joins like every single competition he can. he wants to win. he's not like, a sore loser, but he likes to win, and he'll get a little upset if he doesn't.

etho and beef have clearly known each other a long time and ngl I miss their interactions a bit. let them bother each other a bit more please. I want to see them trying to kill each other in ridiculous ways again please. or doing minigames together. they're so silly.

kind of similar, but etho loves getting a rise out of people and it is the best thing ever actually. it's fun watching him use dirty tricks to beat bdubs to sleeping for a prize. it's perfect actually.

that being said, I still really like when etho is just on his own working on stuff too. s7 has a lot of moments where etho will go "I'm gonna use this block palette!" and I will think "bro that's ugly" and then he will make an extremely cohesive build that I want to live in out of it. I think a good way to describe it is that for example bdubs is really good at detailed builds with texture and not much color, and a very realistic twist to them. etho is not afraid to use color at all, and embraces how the colors can work together or contrast. it's fascinating to watch and I love it.

he is also a redstone genius. I feel I am starting to understand how some things with redstone work. could I design something myself? absolutely not but I could work from a tutorial and not feel completely lost on why I have to use a dispenser and not a dropper now.

I think s7 etho is really experimenting a lot with style and how he wants to do things. he does a few more elaborate intros, for example, that are very planned out, but he also does a lot of the classic "hello everybody this is etho and welcome back to hermitcraft!" it's fun and it works, but I honestly feel he might be more confident in some ways now in s10, which is nice to see.

(side note—I think etho has some trouble with tone sometimes, where he really wants to make sure everyone's having a good time, but also he really wants to tease people. this works well with like Beef, who he's known a while, but especially in people he's known less he's quick to catch on if they take what he's saying too seriously, and clarify that he is teasing. it's nice to see tbh, just the clarity even with his audience)

speaking of llamas, I had not realized how recent some really big updates were. bamboo and pandas were new at the start of s7. the nether update came like halfway through?? I was more in the casual build side of mcyt at the time but man...I didn't realize how crazy that is to think about.

just...the way that etho visualizes builds is great. not just like, leaving space for farms, but filling in the spaces with a lot of details that make sense but also work with the space to cover anything it needs to AND to connect with the rest of the base. the sightlines thing is something I see a lot of other builders using but etho really uses them a lot in the Monstrosity in order to keep it from being Too Much as you walk through.

really just...he wants to have fun, and he wants to learn, and he wants to experiment and figure things out. if he can mess with some friends when he does it, that's a great bonus, yknow?

Lucky Roux: *snorts* Let me know when you're done, so I can start dinner. Also, when you are done, you might want to put up a barrier, so none of the others accidentally lean on it.

You: I enjoy seeing them covered in paint. So I think they're gonna be in for a surprise, or at least the boss will be. Because I bet you a thousand berry that he's definitely gonna lean in the paint.

Lucky Roux: I'll take that bet.

Benn: I ain't, because he'll definitely gonna do it.

The next morning

Shanks: *Still annoyed that he got paint in his hair the night before* is this shit finally dry?

Benn: yeah, the kid didn't paint in straight lines though.

Shanks: what! But they're usually so meticulous about doing tasks perfectly.

Benn: it was on purpose too, take a close look.

Shanks: *leans in and glides his fingers across a floral design in the brush strokes* do you think they like painting?

Benn: I believe so, that, or they inhaled too much paint fumes and decided to have fun with it.

Shanks: both are possible... Didn't they repaint the hallway, and bathrooms?

Benn: yeah? They painted patterns there too.

Weeks later

Shanks: Hey (y/n) I got you something! *Presents you with a colorful variety of house paints, and a bunch of supplies*

You: ... Wow, that's a lot of paint, are you wanting me to repaint every room on the ship?

Shanks: no silly, for you to have fun with. We noticed the patterns you painted in the galley and thought you might like more colors.

You: but where would I paint?

Shanks: where ever you'd like.

You: *Kisses him on the cheek, scoops up the supplies, and runs to your room*, Thank you!

Two days later in the galley

You: I finished my room is it okay if I paint this wall now?

Shanks: Go for it.

Benn: *watches you run off* they painted their whole room you know.

Shanks: I saw, I was impressed they managed to paint such steady line work with the ship moving so much.

Benn: I think the little maze design the pained on their door frame was my favorite. Do you think they take requests?

Shanks: I dunno.

Benn: is it okay if I asked you to paint something?

You: sure!

Yassop: Wait, you take requests! I want the pillar in my room painted.

The crew: *crowd around you listing off the things they want painted*

Lucky Roux: I ain't writing down my request because it's simple, don't paint any more realistic bug on the damn walls. I nearly shit myself when I saw the cockroach you painted in the bathroom, that was not a fun surprise at three in the morning.

You: only termite holes, got it.

Lucky Roux: (y/n) no! No termite holes.

You: fine fine, although the fact that the paint on that cockroach didn't even get to dry before one of y'all smacked it, is hilarious.

He'll allow it, but god does he make it an insufferable experience.

He loves messing with you by intentionally making his hand twitch/flinch/shake.

He'll finally stop when you threaten inform him that you only have so much nail polish remover left and he'll end up with messy, ugly, clumpy nails that you wont be able to fix.

He's fine with whatever you give him, just dont make it look stupid.

Diamante:

Absolutely!

He's tickled that you would want to spend time with him like that.

Requests things like flashy white or gold stars, sparkly reds, or a nice baby blue to match his eyes.

A little bit of a stickler about your technique, but he wont be too hard on you if you mess up.

It's just nail polish after all.

Surprisingly will want to paint yours in return to match his.

His technique is ironically not that great.

Pica:

...... Reluctantly agrees.

He's silent as he watches you work, but his gaze is very intimidating and scrutinous.

Kind of a mouth breather, dont comment on it or he'll get mad at you.

If you ask him very nicely, he'll let you experiment on his toe nails, painting them however you want.

He's satisfied with a simple matte dark purple, but his favorite is a metallic gold- not the regular nail polish, but the holographic powder, he likes the shiny chrome finish.

Vergo:

Some days he'll say yes, sometimes its just not a good time.

He's a busy guy, he doesnt have all the time in the world to sit down and let you fiddle with his nails.

Sometimes he just doesnt want his nails painted and thats that.

On the off chance he agrees, he prefers a simple solid black or a plain white.

Giolla:

Yes, but she's such a karen about it.

So passive-aggressive and indecisive.

Makes you never want to paint her nails again.

Likes loud, contrasting colors and sometimes fun stencil patterns.

She usually compliments your work after its over, but will sometimes make a back-handed comment if she isn't completely satisfied with the results.

Lao G:

Surprisingly agrees to it.

However, shaky hands make for many mistakes.

Dont bother putting a top coat on.

regardless of the outcome, he'll give you a thumbs up and a "GREAT WITH A CAPITAL G!"

Bully him into it a little and he'll cave.

He's used to this, having been the test subject for a younger Baby 5 when she first got into nails.

Watches intently, doesnt speak much.

Sucks his pacifier suddenly from time to time and the sound in the otherwise silent room makes you flinch.

He doesnt have any preferences, but appreciates when you make the color match his bonnet.

Might make you do his toe nails too so they match.

Viola:

Her favorite is a dark mauve with white hand-painted flowers on the thumbs and/or ring fingers.

Dont worry if you cant paint the flowers correctly, she still appreciates it all the same.

She'll ask to paint yours in return.

You can use his nail polish.

Teases you if you mess up but genuinely starts to get annoyed if you make too many mistakes.

Likes cat-eye and holographic effects; don't worry, hes got the magnets and powders for it.

If he's feeling generous, he'll return the favor, but he might give you what he thinks would look good instead of what you want.

Buffalo:

Nuh-uh, no way.

The end of a lazy afternoon finds John sprawled on the couch with Meatball next to him, snoring quietly as John plays some Legend of Zelda on the tv.

They're waiting for Buck to come home from a shift at West Anglia and John personally hopes he'll arrive with some news about the latest endeavors of Marge and Rosie, aka the Most Unlikely Duo as John and Benny call them. Buck isn't usually one for gossip, especially when Marge is involved, but the constant push-pull of the couple is too much even for him.

When the door of the apartment – their apartment, John reminds himself with a proud grin – opens Meatball immediately runs to Buck and John pauses the game, waiting on the couch. “Welcome back doll, how's it going?” He shoots loud towards the entryway.

Buck steps into the living room with Meatball at his heels, cheeks reddened and hair askew from the bike ride home. “S'doing well, better now here at home. Did you guys have fun? Went for a you know what?” He asks, leaning over the back of the couch to kiss John on the lips.

“Yeah, we did go to the park and shared a sandwich,” John answers, stealing another kiss. “And then we cleaned the bedroom, prepped dinner, and folded the laundry that was in the dryer.”

“That's good, I think it's just time for another round of washing. I'm gonna take a quick shower then I'll help you with the dinner, ok?”

“Sure love, take your time. Oh, any news about our favorite couple?” John teases. Buck rolls his eyes. “I'll tell you later,” he says, and with another kiss he's gone before John can complain. Sighing, he starts the game and plays for a few more minutes before Buck's voice gets to his ears.

“John, sweetheart, can you come here a moment?”

And John's blood immediately turns to ice because if there's a thing he's learnt in this past year and a half he's spent with Buck it's that when he uses pet names like this, he's just about to murder him in cold blood.

“Yeah sure doll, I'm coming!” John shouts back and goes to their bedroom, feigning nonchalance. Buck's standing next to their bed – neatly made with the space-patterned sheets Marge has gifted them for their new home – and is staring at the piles of laundry John has folded earlier.

“Yes, doll?”

“Care to explain what is this?” Buck asks pointing at the laundry.

“It's the laundry I took from the dryer and folded.”

“And why, pray tell, did you fold it like that?”

Puzzled, John looks at the folded towels. “What do you mean like that? How else was I supposed to fold them? That's the body towels pile, that's the hand towels pile, that's...”

“Are you serious? You're telling me you did that on purpose?”

With a sigh John turns to Buck. “Buck, my love, I'm gonna need you to be more clear because I understand you're pissed but I have no idea why,” he tells him – hell yeah, he's been working really hard on his communication issues.

“You're supposed to fold them by sets! The blue body towel with the blue hand towel, the green body towel with the green hand towel, and so on!” Buck exclaims, so astonished he doesn't even sound angry anymore.

“But that doesn't make sense. What if you only need the body towel?”

“It's a set! You're supposed to use them together, why would you only need one?! Who raised you, John Clarence Egan?!”

John gasps, outraged. “Hey now, there's no need for middle names! And I'll let you know, my mother didn't care about how the laundry was folded: however it would fit into the closet was just about right.”

Buck looks at him in suspicion. “You never folded your stuff once in your whole life, did you?” He asks.

“Well, not when my mom could complain about it. But the guys...”

“Oh shut up about the guys, I've seen how they keep their changing rooms and I am actually afraid to learn how they fold their laundry,” Buck cuts him off with a shudder. Then he exhales, and relaxes his shoulders just a bit. “Next time could you please fold them by sets? I promise it's more practical.”

“I'll try and remember that. I'm sorry, I had no idea you had such strong opinions on laudry,” John says, tugging Buck closer to place a kiss on his head.

“I have strong opinions on things that matter,” the other grumbles. “I'm going to load the washing machine now, do you have more whites to put in?”

“Yeah, there's your white shirt in the bathroom, I put the stain remover on that coffee stain on the wrist earlier and it should be ready to wash now.”

It's Buck's turn to look puzzled. “The what?”

“The stain remover? The one that's specific for coffee stains?”

A beat. “We don't have that.”

“Yes we do? In the cupboard? Along with one specific for wine stains and one for makeup?”

Buck still looks at him like he's grown a third eye. “Now you're just fucking with me,” he says but he sounds uncertain.

John raises his eyebrows at him. “Gale Winston Cleven,” he spells out, and smirks at Buck's consequential eye roll. “Are you telling me you don't use stain removers when you do your laundry?”

“Of course I do, but a generic one! Why on earth would I need a specific one for every kind of stain?”

“Well in case you didn't notice, all the coffee stains on your shirts have been disappearing much faster lately. And the wine I spilled on your trousers at the restaurant? Yeah that's gone too. Because I put the specific stain remover on it,” John explains.

“I'm still not convinced that we actually need that kind of stuff,” Buck says.

“Trust me, you'll see it the next time I leave makeup stains on your collar after a show,” John shoots back with a wink. Buck seems like he's pondering it for a minute, then he slowly nods. “That did go away pretty fast the last time, you're right. Wait, you're telling me you've been using your fancy stain removers on my stuff? Why?”

“Well I cannot possibly let you go around with coffee stains on all your white shirts; who would take you seriously then, Professor Cleven?”

Buck smirks at that, the nickname always hitting him just right. “I'd say from now on, you do the washing and I do the folding? So everyone's happy?” He suggests.

“Deal,” John says pulling him closer again for another kiss. “I like how we're managing this, moving in together and dividing the responsibilities. It makes us sound like two healthy adults, don't you think?”

Buck can't hide a smile against John's lips. “I love it too, coming home and finding you here, you taking care of my laundry, helping you cook dinner... maybe we actually are two healthy adults.”

“Mh, don't count on it,” is John's response, and Buck laughs at it and extricates himself from the hug, finally walking to the bathroom. “I'll leave the washing to you then!” He says closing the door behind him.

“Sure doll! I can't wait to wash all your white shirts with one of my red socks and see what happens. I bet you'd look good in pink!” John says.

The bathroom door reopens in an instant, angry blue eyes shining through the crack. “Don't you dare.”

How do Little Ford and Stan handle bathtime? Do they have a favorite type of bath toy? I can personally see Little Stan loving plastic dinosaur figurines, and maybe Ford having one of those Crayola chemistry bath sets! I can also see them having their own towel with a hoodie!

I did briefly write something small about Stan and bathtime a couple of months ago, and this gave me the opportunity to expand on that! Thank you so much for your ask! And sorry it took so long to get to it, I hope you're still here.

-Little Stan loves bathtime! You wouldn't think it, he hated bathing as a kid, but now that he gets unlimited bath time? With actual hot water? Ford has a hard time getting him out of the bath

-Stan likes his baths scalding hot. It soothes the aches of his joints and old scars and he gets cold easily and will shiver when the water goes lukewarm, so scalding hot water will make it so baths last longer and are all around more pleasant for both Stan and Ford

-Ford has to convince Stan that Poindexter will be safe sitting and keeping watch on the sink, that he can't be in the water with Stan because the he could get sick. -He has so many rubber duckies, and they're the kind with cool and novelty designs. Pirates, whales, mermaids, some that are just straight up fish shaped instead of patterned like a costume. He plays make believe with them while Ford's washes his hair, just making sound effects to their adventures

-I like your thought on dinosaur toys. Ford got him specific dinosaurs sets, one for bath time and the other for daily play. The daily play is just an assortment of all different kids of dinos from different periods; land, sea, air, bugs, just so many types of dinosaurs. His bathtime set is only marine dinosaurs; some are bought from online and some Ford made himself, those being the more obscure species that he's studied

-I mentioned this before, but Stan has a toy boat with a rudder that will paddle through the water when wound up. He deemed it the "S.S. Stan" and named Ford as his first mate. He loves splashing it through the water and getting Ford's sleeves wet, sometimes spraying him with the little cannon on the ship, giggling and looking away when Ford gives him that look

-The first time he accidentally splashed Ford, early on in Ford caring for him, he got upset and started apologizing with little murmured "sorry's", hoping he didn't upset Ford or ruin his sweater. Ford, of course, wasn't mad at all, and stuck his sweater clad arms all the way down in the water to prove so, showing Stan that it's okay to have fun and splash in the bath

-Ford learned very quickly that he shouldn't wear sweaters during his brother's bath time

-Stan has some of those crayons that can color on bath tub walls and come off easily with water. He'll draw his boat and his dinosaurs and the dinosaurs attacking his boat. He splashes at Ford to get him to see his pretty pictures on the wall

-The only way Ford can get Stan out of the bath is to let the water go cold so he doesn't want to stay in. When that happens, Ford is quick to wrap Stan in his special towel, drying him off before slipping the hood, adorned with lamb ears, over his head and drying off his hair. Ford ignores Stan's pouting about the lamb ears, he's just too cute!

-Stan gets Ford multitudes of bath chemistry sets, from bathbombs to a water lab that isn't necessarily for the bath, but will work anyways. Anything so Stan can wash his stinky brother

-Like Stan, Ford has to have scalding hot water, it helps soothe the aches of his old body and helps him remember that he's home and with his Buddy, not in some scary dimension all alone. He's safe and warm and he's with his brother

-Ford will leave Dr. Mittens outside the door, terrified of getting his handmade plushy wet and having it fall apart. Stan has to reassure him throughout bathtime that Dr. Mittens is dry and okay and right outside the door, which is cracked open so the plush toy can peak inside

-Beyond all the science kits Ford has for bath time, he also has some aquatic animal replicas and he'll reenact the animals hunting rituals with them, pretend to hunt them himself, and tell Stan every detail he knows about each one. In that order. Every bathtime. And Stan is more than happy to sit there and listen to Ford talk, not only is he genuinely interested in hearing his thoughts, but it also distracts Ford enough for Stan to get him clean

-Unlike Stan, Ford will let him know he's finished bathing simply by stopping what he's doing and saying "I'm done now" and attempting to stand and get up

-Sometimes, Ford will most decidedly not be done, shampoo still in his hair. So when that happens, Stan will have to get Ford talking about something, the chemicals in his soap, the anatomical structure of Beluga Whale, anything so he can finish bathing Ford

-Ford has a towel with cat hears on the hood, matching Dr. Mittens, that he'll only wear after he's completely dried off. He wants to match with Dr. Mittens, but he can't get him wet, so Ford'll wear the hooded towel after Stan towel dries him and his hair, so he just sits in that hooded towel and relaxes after his bath

Honestly? He loves it!

It may not seem like it with the pirate outfit and rogue-ish lifestyle, but Julian is quite the colour lover himself. He just loves the energy and atmosphere vibrant colours bring.

So when you and him meet, and he finds out you're an even bigger lover of colours and an artist at that—the man was practically bursting with excitement.

Definitely gets you some art supplies. But since Julian has little to zero knowledge on being an artist, his art supplies aren't always the most helpful. Though you still appreciate him for trying to help with your hobby, even if his "paint" looks like it belongs in a potion brewing shop.

Practically demands to see some of your older art works and becomes sad if you say no. It's fine though if you don't let him, he'll find them eventually (his words, not yours).

Whenever you're painting or doing anything artsy, he's almost always by your side asking questions and just chatting with you. And as always you enjoy it when he's with you, it makes you feel warm inside knowing he's as passionate about watching you paint as you are about painting.

"Julian, I need you to-"

"I know, I know—you want me to stop staring at you. But I can't help it! You're just so beautiful when you're focused on something you're so passionate about!"

You're an artist?? He's ENAMOURED already.

Asra adores everything you paint. He himself is a bit of an artist, but he doesn't paint as often as you since he's always busy with the Major Arcana amongst other things.

When he travels for long periods of time and comes back, he always brings you things like art supplies, trinkets or flowers, saying, "They reminded me of you." And he loves watching your eyes sparkle as you think of the different ways you can use the items.

After a long day, Asra just likes curling up besides you while you create your masterpieces. He'll bring you a warm drink and food too, before settling down on a blanket besides you.

If you ask, he'll give you some pointers or tell you what you could add to your work as you paint. He has an eye for detail.

"I think a few flowers would look really nice over here." He points to a certain part of the canvas.

"You always think flowers look nice in every painting," You playfully respond, and see him look away shyly. "What can I say? They really do!"

Asra could stare at your work for hours without feeling the need to look away. He just loves the mixture of colours and patterns you use. They remind him of the different realms and he finds that beautiful.

Sometimes you even use things from around his home for inspiration. It could be anything—his clothes, the intricate patterns on his curtains, sometimes even his tarot cards, and he won't say it aloud but it gives him a bit of a confidence boost. It's almost as if a piece of him is within your art work.

Muriel:

Muriel is a very... Dark and gloomy man in general.

The forest is his home, but not the pretty and flower-filled part, he makes his home in the shadowy, dark and somewhat dangerous parts of the forest.

So when you come into his life and bring all of this colour and vibrance, it throws him off. He doesn't know what to make of it. He feels to seen with all of it.

"What are you doing?" He approaches you as you hang a vine of flowers over the fireplace.

You look back and smile, "I thought it could use a little bit of... Decor..." You notice the way he frowns, even harder than usual as he stares at the decoration. "I'll take it ou-" "No. Leave it."

You're shocked, "Muriel, if you don't like it I can-" "I like it. It's pretty... Like you" He mutters the last part, so softly you almost don't hear him. Then he leaves. Quickly.

You smile to yourself.

After that you notice he spends more time with you as you decorate or make things, you even started asking him for his opinion on some things. He always responds with "Hm..." But you'll take what you can get.

Sometimes you take Inanna with you to hunt for things in the wild that you could use. Muriel was weary at first of letting you go with her, but Inanna seemed happy to go, so Muriel allowed it. After a while you even convinced him to come along on your art scouting journeys too. He comes in handy when you get carried away and find a little too many items that you need to take with you.

Oh and if anyone ever criticizes your art, no they didn't. In fact, almost as soon as they criticize it, they're on their knees worshipping you and the art itself. Why? Let's just say a big, terrifying man glaring down at you with eyes that say "I will rip your limbs apart and relish in every second of it" is not very fun.

I honestly think he'll only let you do this if you make them dark red or black, without too much extravagance. Even if he wears gloves, he may have to take them off in public and doesn't want to be embarrassed by candy pink nail art, for example.

But if you really insist on making little patterns for him, he will give in and let you do it. Expect to receive little comments like “Are you finished?” or even “Don’t get on the cuticles”. That he knows this word surprises you and when you ask him WHERE he learned this word, he simply answers that he likes to look at you when you take care of your nails and actually listens when you talk about it.

What a cutie.

Dazai :

This man would say yes to anything you could ask him. “You want to take care of my nails?” He said looking at his hands. "Yes why not !"

You can DO EVERYTHING, from yellow to black to azure blue, he'll definitely like it. So HAVE A FUN. The only thing that will be difficult to deal with is Dazai himself. He will remove his hands from yours regularly to observe your work. Even if you've only just done a nail, he wants to look.

You're going to take breaks every 30 seconds because he doesn't know how to sit still for more than 5 minutes when he's with you. Yes, it will take hours to finally finish your work but it will be perfect.

-"Honey, it's so beautiful! You're so talented!" He will show his nails to the whole agency, specifying each time that it was you who did them so well.

Ranpo :

-"Absolutely not !" Ranpo shouted, as you practically begged him to let you do his nails. -"But why? -It smells bad. "You're a child, darling." You said, sitting down next to him.

Yes, it will be hard to convince him but through persuasion, he agrees to let you do it but he will only keep your art for a day, to please you.

It goes without saying that you jump at the chance, you give him some sweets to keep him going. When you finish the first hand, he complains that he can't touch anything, he complains that it's taking too long, that it smells bad, that his arm is cramping. It's a one-hour fight but you can be proud of yourself, your work is magnificent.

-"FINALLY I'M FREE!" Ranpo shouted, jumping off the couch, you laughed at his childishness.

Atsushi :

He would be delighted if you wanted to take care of him, even if it's "just" nails. The poor guy has never taken the time to take care of his manicure and he doesn't know much about it so he'll let you do it, the only thing he doesn't want is too flashy colors.

While you have his right hand in yours, he will ask you how you learned to do nails, he will even be impressed by your dexterity.

-"You are beautiful when you concentrate." Said Atsushi. You laugh slightly, softened. -"Thank you angel, I want it to be perfect." After a good hour more, you are finally satisfied with your work.

Atsushi looks at his fingers in admiration. Not once did he complain about how long it lasted. He's just happy to have shared this moment with you.

Kunikida :

He will be VERY reluctant at first. It's not that he doesn't trust you with your talent but he doesn't want to have something too complicated, he will only end up accepting if you do a simple sober color.

He has a schedule calibrated to perfection so he will dedicate 2 hours to you so that you can take care of him. Surprisingly, he will ask a lot of questions about what you are currently doing, what tool is used for what, he is curious about this universe that he knows little about.

-"This is to remove cuticles that are too long." You say, pointing at the object. -"You'll do my nails more often, that's interesting." He said while adjusting his glasses.

Yes, you just converted him to the world of nail art and with any luck, you can one day give him hot pink nails.

Some random modern HotD headcanons :)

Hey y’all! So I kept thinking of some funny, and very specific headcanons for the HotD characters, so I decided to just make it a whole post. This will actually be my first “legit” post on here, lol! Anyways, this will include some headcanons about Aemond, Aegon II, Luke, Jace, Daemon, Rhaenyra, Helaena, etc. But hope y’all enjoy lol! :)

Ok, I am convinced that Aemond has a secret stash of tea hidden somewhere. He's even put them all in a very nice ornate, antique box. It's his guilty pleasure. He probably would have some Earl Gray, English Breakfast, maybe even some lavender mint for the evenings. He'd keep it secret because all the teas he's gotten are way too expensive, and special.

Luke is an avid Minecraft gamer. Like he's basically built Dragonstone, and the Red Keep in his server. He'll play sometimes with Jace, or maybe even Aegon. But he doesn't let them into that world. Aegon would probably blow it all up with TnT.

Speaking of gaming, I think some people are on the same page that Aegon would be some kind of gamer. He'd be up to date on all the new systems and gadgets. He'd be one of the firsts to have the PS5 when it came out. He probably plays a lot of Call of Duty. Maybe even some Valorant when he doesn't wanna fire up the PS. He'd definitely be cursing and yelling at the game, to the point where Alicent threatens to take it away.

While Rhaenyra watches her shows, House Wives, Rupaul's Drag Race, etc. Daemon pretends to be not interested, but really he's super invested. He'd be leaning against the couch, or the wall totally sucked in. And when Rhaenyra tells him to just sit down and watch with her, he's all like, "no no I don't even like this show". But then he'd say things like, "Well maybe if her gown was better made she wouldn't have been eliminated last episode".

Aegon gives me frat boy energy. And I know I'm not the first to say that lol. You already know he's planning all the parties, and picking the themes. I like to think he'd be very invested into picking the themes. They would be things like, dragon night, wear your fave dragon scale colors. Or something like, Dragonstone beach night, wear your swim suits and flip flops.

Alicent likes to knit. Or maybe crochet? It's her stress reliever activity after dealing with Aegon, and the rest of the boys. Helaena is always giving her new patterns or designs to try.

I think Alicent also likes to take the occasional Buzzfeed quiz. "If you were a cake flavor, here's what you'd be based on your star sign".

Helaena runs a very successful tik tok account. She'd post her outfits, and maybe some art or cool bugs she's found.

Aegon listens to a lot of Megan Thee Stallion and Kim Petras. He's blasting Kim Petras' Treat me like a Slut at least 5 times a day. He gets ready to it in the morning.

Aemond will get down to some Amy Winehouse.

Jace works at the local animal shelter as his summer job. He only got the job cause Rhaenyra said he needed to get out of the house. Plus Helaena also works there, so she helped him get hired.

Aemond would be a great bartender. Not with like actually interacting with customers, but he can make some great drinks. Like he's over here coming up with all these crazy cocktails. Although, like his tea obsession he keeps this on the low. He doesn't want Aegon asking him to make drinks all the time. Gods forbid he asks Aemond to bartend at one of the frat parties.

Helaena was a Monster High girl growing up.

Aemond has a motorcycle. It was his one rebellious purchase. Alicent hates it.

Luke can kick Aegon's ass in any game, video or otherwise. You name it, Call of Duty, UNO, Valorent, Go fish...

Rhaenyra has a bit of a sweet tooth, but she has to hide her candy stash, cause the boys will steal it in a heartbeat. Who would have thought Daemon would love lemon drops so much.

Beauty Day Headcanons for the First Class SOLDIER boys!

A/N: I have always imagined the 1st class bois doing a beauty day with their S/O cause why not? They're beautiful. 💅💄

♡ Sephiroth♡

-Let's start with skincare. He's not that into skin cleansing with creams and whatnot, but will definitely put on a face mask, especially if it's Moogle or Chocobo themed.

-He will allow you to put on some eyeshadow (see pic above, not mine btw) and maybe some foundation, but lipstick is out of the question because he risks getting it on his hair.

-LOVES to have his nails painted, especially black and white. I mean come on. Why do you think he wears gloves? It's to hide his shiny, glittery nails from everyone. Paint his nails for him once and you'll find it turns into a tradition. Every weekend, you two end up sitting at the kitchen table, painting each other's nails different colors, trying out new patterns and designs. Too bad his nails have to be kept short so he can fitght or he would have long-ass coffin nails by now.

-You want to brush his hair? By all means, go right ahead! Sephiroth is a living Rapunzel; to have a beauty day and not play with his hair would be to miss out on a golden opportunity. He loves it. You love it. Everyone's happy.

-What about hairstyling, you may ask? Well, he is in EUPHORIA when you braid his hair (it's soooo relaxing) and likes to have you help him tie it into buns, pigtails, ponytails and whatnot. At the end of the day, he ends up looking like a really big, muscular kawaii girl. ✌️🩷❤️✌️

-LOOK at this man. A total pretty boy. It's likely that you were introduced to beauty days by him, and that he dragged you onto the makeup/skincare/shiny things bandwagon.

-Will wear literally anything you want him to, eyeshadow, lipstick, blush, facemasks, cleansers, you name it, he'll let you put it on his face. That can be interpreted many ways, don't sue me for your dirty minds

-Fingernail painting? He's fine with it, but he's more into pedicures because his hands get scratched up more often than Sephiroth's do.

-When it's time to paint the footsies...hoo boy. His toes are very ticklish, so you have to pinch 'em just so or he'll be wiggling and giggling, and then his feet will end up covered in nail polish and there'll be a huge mess in general.

-Like Sephiroth, Genesis enjoys getting his hair done. He'll let you wash it, style it, tie it up into little pigtails--he's basically your living Barbie doll.

-All in all, beauty days with Genesis are lots of fun. Sometimes you guys turn on a rom-com or drama and do each other's hair while watching it. ❤️

■ Angeal ■

-Aight, this man is different from the rest. He's not that into makeup, but he will don a little blush and guyliner if you ask him to.

-Angeal's preference is skincare, believe it or not. He wants the whole package, face masks, cleansers, lotions, hydrating soaps, etc. Being in S.O.L.D.I.E.R. means you have to leave for missions often--you don't get much time to maintain your skin. As a result, Angeal is now a skincare addict and relies on you to teach him how to use the products properly and help him establish a solid routine.

-Bonus points if you buy him one of those cute headbands to push his hair back. Imagine seeing your beefy boyfriend parading around the house with bunny ears and a pink sheet mask. Adorable.

-Another thing he enjoys is massages. Yes, you read that right. Coming home from an exhausting mission and being met with a warm bubble bath and then a relaxing massage? That's his kind of heaven.

-Also wouldn't mind giving you a nice full body massage as a reward afterwards. What did I tell you about double meanings, like jeez ?

I can't believe my idea born out of a desire to explore more rare pairs in My Hero Academia made something that 50 people have liked. Huge shout out to my amazing husband who heard me talk about this and then said, "But what about Monoma and Kaminari?" And I said, "YES, PLEASE!"

I think milestones are fun to celebrate, so I figured for anyone who might follow me that is enjoying my fic, I'd give a fun fact or piece of info about the process here.

How about some clothing inspiration!

If you read BibliophiLe, you'll notice that I sometimes go to great length to describe what a character is wearing.

I think clothes are something that define us. How the world sees us. Our first impression.

When a character walks into a room, I want to see their whole self. What they decide to wear that day can let you know their level of comfort, what they value in appearance, and how much they may even care about themselves.

Image Inspirations for Monoma:

In this story, Monoma cares about his appearance immensely a majority of the time. He wants to dress modern and cool, ready to go out at any moment. He would never want to turn down an invitation to hang out because he wasn't ready for it.

He doesn't want to come off too desperate though, so he'll often pair something rich and lush with jeans or a basic color block of something. Look like you care, but not too much. Our anxious boy truly does agonize over the details.

He loves pattern. He wants to be seen so people will engage with him. He sees clothes as being a potential conversation piece. He wants friends. If people want to talk to you and think you're interesting right away, then they'll be more comfortable. For Monoma, his clothes can do that.

Image Inspirations for Kaminari:

Kaminari prioritizes comfort and fun. School uniforms are the bane of his existence, so any time he doesn't need to wear it, he chucks it into his closet and grabs the nearest oversized top and breathes a sigh of relief. If you can't take a nap in it, why wear it?

You should add a layer of scuff and wear-and-tear in your mind's eye to anything here. Kaminari wears his clothes until they break apart. Clothes only get better with age. Also, he loves to run around outside, and he doesn't mind getting dirty.

While his tops are usually pretty massive, at least 2 sizes too big, his bottoms are fitted. He loves to skateboard, and he can't have anything dragging around his legs to mess up a trick or slow him down.

Also!

That black and white sweater? That's the inspiration for THE sweater Kaminari shoves at Monoma. I considered the symbolism of black and white: two worlds, two ideas, two senses of self.

A Spa Day with them

Spa day?

What's that?

He has no idea what a spa is.

Explain it in the simplest of terms and call it a 'self care' day.

Go into a little more detail on what you mean, then he'll start to understand.

Bubba will try and paint your nails, but he's kind of shaky, so some might end up on your skin.

He'll quickly try to rub it off, only to smear it more.

He'll be blubbering apologies.

Don't let him get too worked up about it.

He'll really enjoy doing different face masks.

Especially any that require someone to slather it on.

So he puts it on your face while you put it on his.

Bubba is super ticklish, so he'll probably be a little squirmy and giggly.

He won't actually take his mask off, but the effects should still work on skin that belonged to another human, right?

Probably doesn't work like that, but he's having fun.

Aromatherapy is also something new to him.

He isn't super fond of fruity sweet smells, but he enjoys more earthy scents.

It reminds him of home.

He often gets so relaxed, that he falls asleep on your lap.

He never gets these peaceful moments.

Feeling pretty and snuggling with you.

What more could he want?

Um, yes please.

You don't even have to get anything.

Ji-Woon has a huge box full of high-quality products that he uses.

He is going to elevate you to a whole new experience.

"This is what they do at the spas I go to."

He'll say as he hands you a fancy drink and starts to paint your nails.

Although he usually got his nails done by other people, he prefers doing it himself.

And it won't just be a solid color.

You will get the most breathtaking patterns that could ever be done.

You can offer to paint his nails, but he really enjoys doing his own.

But he'll let you do his right hand since he has a harder time with that one.

After, he's picking out face masks and body scrubs, describing in great detail what each of them do.

He will even show you how to apply them.

And you better believe this man has a huge array of candles.

Any scent you can think of, he has it.

He isn't picky either. He'll like whatever one you choose.

While letting the masks and scrubs sit, he'll indulge you in gossip.

"Yun-Jin is so scared of bugs. Like, one time she took one of my knives just to kill this little beetle. And she crushed it. She can be so over dramatic."

It's days like this that make living in the realm so much more bearable.

Especially since he got to do it with you.

Spirit

Oh she's totally down for that!

Trials can be so stressful, this sounds like a great way to unwind.

First, she'll bring out all her incense.

Pick any one you'd like.

Personally, Rin loves any flowery scents.

Once those get burning, she'll get some of her nail polish.

She only has a few colors, but you two make it work.

It's also super easy to paint her nails.

Since her arms are kind of detached and all.

Cooler colors like purples and blues are her favorite.

She's surprisingly good at painting your nails.

She has very steady hands, probably from all those years of practicing kendo.

Her masks are the home-made type.

All natural, no chemicals.

Those are so much better more you.

And making the masks with you just makes it way more special

She'll always find ways to add fruits to any scrubs or masks she makes.

So, when you're both done, you'll smell amazing.

Lots of giggles and jokes.

This had to have been the most relaxed she had been in years.

She'll be begging for this to turn into a regular thing.

But she'll only do it if you do it with her.

Honestly I can’t stop thinking about how Steve would proudly wear your hair tie around his wrist (especially if it’s like a bright colored scrunchy or something like that) obviously everyone likes to poke fun at him for wearing it every day but he likes having something of yours that is visible to others so whenever you ask to use it he gets worried that you won’t give it back (but ofc you do because nothing is sweeter than him wearing it) and when a girl starts flirting with him he flaunts his wrist in their face to show them is happily taken and not interested

also, i weirdly (and maybe falsely) remember a time when this kinda thing was a trend to write about?? idk maybe i'm making that up; either way, i'm happy to write this for you!!

i think maybe it starts out as an accident. you're walking around the mall together and you complain about your scrunchie being uncomfortable around your own wrist, and you don't wanna put it in your hair right now, so steve does what any good boyfriend would and takes it and puts it around his own wrist. every single time he looks down or gets a glimpse of it as you're browsing through the various stores, it brings a wide smile to his face, and from then on it just becomes a thing the two of you do.

you give him on of them to keep and wear whenever he wants - because you also like how connected it makes you, to have a piece of each other even when you aren't around one another - and it's got some bright neon pattern on it that steve's never even seen before, which only makes him like it more since it's unmistakably yours.

the kids are, of course, the first ones to make their teasing little remarks, but they don't bother steve at all. he just does his typical annoyed-older-brother- slash-pseudo-mom eye roll and continues on. he thinks of them as a version of those cute matching couples bracelets (despite the fact that yours are typically in your hair rather than on your wrist) so nothing - and i mean NOTHING - is going to get him to take it off. probably ever. (seriously. you're lucky he gives it back to you so you can use it when you ask; he has a little grumpy pout on his face if you ever have it for 'too long' because he feels like he's missing a piece of you).

and, of course, there's the massive advantage of having an easy way to throw off anyone who tries anything on him. working at the mall didn't really come with much competition for you, but when it burns after the summer of '85 and he starts working at family video, the number of girls that try to shoot their shot is hard to get used to and a little annoying for a guy who's in head over heels like steve. so, when some girl comes up and starts leaning over the counter and asking about steve's favorite romance movies, his new go-to move is to take the hand with the scrunches on it and purposefully place it on the counter, wiggling it around and toying with it as he rests his chin in his palm. if tht isn't enough for them to take a hint, then he'll just get lost in thought while staring down at it, making sure to pull off his most lovestruck expression to really relay the fact that he isn't single or interested.

most will either awkwardly apologize and go back to the sections of movies or they'll grumble as they walk back out the front door. if it comes off a little bitchy, then oh well; it's always a sight that makes robin stifle giggles as she's filling out paperwork or restocking the shelves.
