pseudoneiric asked:
❛ You will find me a respectful, quiet, passive observer of the truth. ❜ (from octavian!)
Lost Meme -- @pseudoneiric
Nico snorted, not even bothering to hide the reaction. He’s pretty sure that Octavian was not respectful, quiet, or passive a day in his life, although the living part didn’t matter so much at that point. Nico hadn’t yet tried to see if anyone else could see the spirit of the former praetor, although Roman ghosts were known for being vocal, so this would unfortunately be something of an experiment.
“They’re just voting on the final plans for the temple district,” Nico said. “Once they get some of the big structures approved and plotted, they can figure out where to add any monuments.” Octavian should know all of this though, and Nico suspected he probably did, but it felt worth saying out loud still, if only to make sure the augur knew he hadn’t forgotten.

is it just me but it feels like five got dumbed down and nerfed the most in terms of his powers? Five didn’t see Ben steal the marigold, he didn’t figure out the CIA was part of the keepers but Luther did? What? No hate to Luther at all, I love that oaf but it doesn’t feel like FIVE!
Not to mention he was the ONLY one whose powers weren’t working or he couldn’t use to his advantage? Like what? Five? FIVE??? He should’ve figured out the teleporting thing. He should’ve figured out the subway. One opportunity I think the writers didn’t use is as the seasons progress five gains a deeper understanding of time travel and he’s able to figure it out more and more, so it comes full circle from s1 when he got stuck in the apocalypse because he didn’t understand time travel, but they don’t do that!! Like is this the same five who figured out what the sigil was in the s3 finale?
One reason I loved five was his intelligence but it doesn’t feel like it in s4

genius lyrics was on fire last night. they were adding annotations deleting annotations before our very eyes. half the words were either not present or spelled wrong. they had [SCRIBING DON'T EDIT - SOAHGZ] at the top of the page with an annotation that said "the narrator invites us—active users and genius.com lovers—to not edit the lyrics and have faith in our wonderful scribers" and not a soul listened.

Bad Batch Incorrect Quotes (1)
Tech: There are people who are the chaos, who plan the chaos, who get nervous over the chaos, who manage the chaos, and then there's the problem child working against the chaos. Crosshair: I feel like that was an insult... but I'll own it. Echo: I'm disappointed that I understand you. Hunter: I'm assuming I am the chaos? Wrecker: *crashing sounds, yells* Hunter: WHAT NOW, WRECKER? Hunter: *runs off* Echo: Should we tell him? Tech: No. He'll learn soon enough that when he's not going feral, it really is the rest of us he has to manage.

Hinata, Hinata, Hinata. How's my favourite little slave owner doing? She okay? Well, not for long now, because I'm about to rip into her.
Here's the situation. She's bland. Frumpy. Too timid, too shy, too "kind", too awkward, too privileged, too busy idolizing Naruto and putting him before her kids, to be a Shinobi. To have the guts to do something about the slavery going on in her own family. To even acknowledge it.
That's annoying. Unfortunately, she, much like Sakura, was born in a world much too harsh for her. She doesn't fit in. She doesn't have what it takes to live up to the expectations placed on her as the heir (which is why Hiashi had to pass it down to Hanabi, a much more capable kunoichi, and no matter how much you vilify him for it, he was right to do so. He has a duty to his clan, he needs to be responsible. There's no space for coddling). She's preoccupied with stalking her crush from afar.
She's unimportant. She's just...there. Neji suffered the fate of his father saving her, a true loss of a much more important, likable, skilled character.
And she, instead of at least realizing, acknowledging how fucked it is that there are literal slaves in her family, whose lives are treated as lesser than hers, she just fawns over Naruto again.
In the fight with Pain, her confession was selfish, a suicide mission which endangered the lives of everyone, and specifically the fate of her bodyguard that told her that he'd get in trouble if something happened to her. She blatantly disregarded every warning she was given to not approach the battle.
All to confess her feelings to a stranger (because that's who Naruto is to her. He's a stranger, whom she knows only about his never-give-up mentality. And she, well. She is someone Naruto barely spoke to ever), get one panelled, and traumatize Naruto who would have to suffer with the guilt of knowing someone died for him out there. You could say he went ballistic over the fact that Hinata was injured and he loved her so, but the fact that he never once sought after her and ignored her love confession is proof enough that he only cared about her well-being as a mere comrade. Just knowing she's alive was good enough for him. Because Naruto is Naruto, and like it or not, he generally cares about people.
Her whole character falls apart the moment I erase her infatuation with Naruto; all the evidence you need that she's horribly written and shallow (Something also purposefully done by Kishimoto).
Hinata is simply privileged and irrelevant, in all the sense of the words. Seeing her stans point fingers and make fun of Sakura without realizing that they're both equally bad is hilarious.
Hinata wasn't made for the world of Shinobi, and it's blatantly clear.

I’ve never watched supernatural and I probably never will but it is legitimately one of my favorite things ever. I fucking LOVE reading people argue and bitch at each other. I wish I could find videos of people talking about a specific thing for supernatural (like idk the characters and why x is so so awful) and then another video of a different person reacting and saying the other person is wrong and then for the op to respond to the response. I live for this shit.
I’m reading vague posts and five thousand word essays and like halfway through this guy named Jack or something gets brought up and I’m just like “who the hell is that?”. It is so fun. I love being confused. I don’t want to be in the loop. I don’t want to watch 15 seasons of a CW show. I watched like 3 or 4 seasons of The Flash I can’t do that again. However the basis for the show sounds like something I would like. But doing this and reading a bunch of posts I don’t understand is just so much better. I’ve watched one episode of supernatural and it was the one where Castile first showed up and I only watched it because my dad was watching it. I don’t think he watched however many episodes or seasons it would take of supernatural to get to Cas but it was on the tv and he was watching it.
I don’t know anything about the show. I’ve watched videos about certain things for the show and I’ve read a lot of posts about it, but lowkey I don’t trust a single word anyone says about it. I’m so fine with reading the fanfics and tumblr discourse and being confused it’s so fun and I really just need something to keep me going.

it's the fact that not even Deku or Ochako got their resolutions in this chapter that's getting to me. Out of every single character, the only ones who got their resolutions one chap before the end are the grandma who didn't want to help little Tenko and an NPC Tenko wannabe who had exactly two panels of the previous screentime

Since I can't call these "Outer Wilds Update" anymore, let's call it Outer Wilds Meta That I Find Interesting And Want To Talk About instead:
Ever since I finished the game and then later the DLC I've been thinking about the Eye and the fact that it seems to have either some (very) limited conscience or simply a limited way to communicate with other creatures. It calls out, it tries to explain to the Owlies (yes, I still call them that because I love them, don't correct me pls) that the world will keep turning even after they're gone, and when we as Hatchling, our beloved player character, enter it, the Eye shows us a world that we are familiar with. The signs in the museum have been altered and the Eye is quite explicitly explaining to us who all these different people are; all the way from the picture of the founders, over the Nomai statue, and to the old satellite.
It might just be me being human that I'm trying to characterize an object, but the Eye feels so alive. It calls out to be found, it can be scanned with a vision torch, and even the distinct Quantum sound it makes sounds like it's singing. When we jump up into it, when we reach whatever is hidden behind the clouds, the Eye seems almost organic. It tears itself apart to make space for us and as we land, it gives us the museum where it all started. The whole ending sequence feels so much like a conversation, like the Eye keeps trying to tell us something in every way it knows how to and everything we do is another answer to the question of what comes next.
