Man, it's cool and all if you see a metaphor for marginalisation in the monstrous, and if you want the power fantasy of 'what if you could just eat anybody who threatened you/pissed you off'. Me too.

However, as soon as you start saying 'no, these monsters are a 1:1 on Specific Marginalised Group, and you have to treat them in the fiction like they are directly representative of real human members of the marginalised group', BUT you also, in the fiction, make them hurt/kill/eat humans? And then try to shame me, your audience, for noticing or engaging with the bit where they kill people, because you made them directly representative of a real-world marginalised group? You have lost me, and also, I think, the plot.

the thing that really gets me about mizumono is that will doesn’t even fight back. he saw alana mangled outside. he knows jack might be dead. he has a loaded gun in hand. but not once does he try to hurt hannibal. he doesn’t even shoot. will just lets him caress his cheek, fingers curling into his hair. there’s no resistance. when hannibal stabs him, will leans into it. he doesn’t want to escape. and it all hurts so badly because it’s not like will tricked hannibal into loving him; he simply persuaded him that he might love him back. because that’s what will thought hannibal did to him in s1, and only now does he realise that maybe it was more real for hannibal than he thought. or worse, that maybe he wants to be with hannibal regardless of whether hannibal genuinely loves him. that maybe it’s worth it to be close to him, even if his touch splits his stomach open

so there's this post that talks about how people call jason's curved knife a kris but it's not a kris 'cuz why would he have a southeast asian knife? and op's tags say if you're gonna give him an 'exotic' weapon at least make him malay or something. a later reblog adds a filipino kris as an example, and then i was like, 'omg, jason in a barong tho.' SO i tried designing a bat-barong inspired by his hood logo, for a filipino jason haha. and now here we are! 😊✨️🇵🇭

stuff in ii I waaaant to talk about but don't have anything to make a full post on. part 1 maybe.

i don't think purgatory party is very canon (there's no WAY goo made it to the mansion and back to the hotel so fast. he's not a very fast little guy) but I really really love fans interactions with marshmallow in her interview. compared to their last canon interactions in episode 10, he is a LOT more mindful towards how shes feeling.

speaking of purgatory party:

the fact that suitcase knows about the things knife did for mic by the time the final scene in the show comes by. I don't have much to say on this but mic and suitcase did NOT interact much. and knife still doesn't tell anyone he was trying to protect mic while she made her own decision. how did she find out? I honestly hope the two talked about it at some point.

this moment. to quote mic, you don't apologize to make something better- you apologize because its the right thing to do. I think mic might forgive him a little bit, too.
