#text#art#eyestrain#cw eystrain#bright colors#cw bright colors#tetris#nintendo#god i dont know what to tag this with. i dont wanna tag it with the podcasts themselves cuz that feels disingenuous. swagever#i actually started this piece a while ago. ok yeah looking at the date that was almost 3 weeks ago wow#but i finally decided to bring it back and finish it#ive been getting back into digital art and its been really nice. its nice having finished pieces.#ive been trying to get weirder with my art. like this piece was weirdly 'personal' in a sense#its been my unique experience listening to these pieces of media. the game in the bg is jsut as important to my experience as the art itsel#the looming sense of dread these podcasts give fit weirdly well with the high tension of some of these games of tetris#i wanted to have that sorta weird ominous vibe to it. have even the pieces feel loud and threatening.#and the gameplay being Past the ds itself is something i thought could be neat#ykno the tetris effect? where you play a bunch and then after you see the shapes everywhere;you play it in your mind?#that was part of what i wanted to channel there. but also like; how your attention works with this stuff#i might be looking straight at the ds but my attention is elsewhere; my brain is in another world#the game is still inescapable tho. tetris effect whatever. these stories stick in my brain just as much.#its all given me some. very very annoyingn anxiety. but i have to go back to them. like a moth to a flame etc. hince the moth climbing out#but uh yeah. that set up was my life for a few weeks whenever i had free time.#the main podcast this is about was magnus btw <- not typing full name so im not on the tag#and uh.#objectum#yeah i think. i think yeah.

#rain world#dp spoilers#seven red suns#since i started out using in-game art as a ref for suns - not realizing the concept art existed -#i've been using nine dots#i might swap to seven though#it's easier to draw too. lol#ALSO. THE PINK MUPPET HAS YELLOW MARKINGS AND HIS SIGNATURE COLOR IS TEAL#the blue robot has red markings and her signature color is gold#NSH king of color coordination and we don't even see most of his design smh#part of me loves how inconsistent things are in rain world#do you want a solid design for moon?#a canon color palette for five pebbles?#no. they change between every single in-game piece of art#look at moon's antennae between each picture. look at them. look to the antennae#part of me is infuriated by it too#i tend to prefer when there's a solid canon to draw from#but i also enjoy how rain world is so interpretable#it makes seeing what headcanons are common in the community neat#and all the new ideas people come up with are a treat too#including everyone's interpretation of the characters' designs!

Happy Halloween! I dressed up as Law and my younger brother dressed up as Ace. My brother kinda convinced my dad to dress up as Akainu….which is interesting. And my mom dressed up as Ace’s mom, Portgas D Rouge. Our first time doing a family costume(or whatever you call this)!

#FINALLY. TOOK ME TWO FUCKEN DAYS TO DRAW THIS DUDE#I made it way too detailed cause I wanted em to look fancy but I’m probably gonna simplify it any time I draw them anyway shfjgsg#i changed my mind way too many times trying tk figure out Colors for them. I’m actually happy with how this came out!!!!#if you squint the sash and jinbu is a reference to sailor HEHE.. I tried to make it stand out without contrasting too much so you can tell#-that it’s not part of Xins aesthetic more like a piece of him they carry around with them <3 they make me ILL#I should also mention they can’t nock arrows for shit. they just use em to stab and cut things apart hence the lack of a bow#it was left by one of the scholars before the island was abandoned so they were like ooh stabby stabby#I just realized I put braces on both their arms and legs but I’m too tired to do anything abt it. Hey, this is your sign to go out and find somewhere local/in your state a place that is a beautiful piece of preserved history and enjoy it. It can be a small museum, a big museum, an ancient landmark or just really really old parts of town. Go out and find and appreciate something someone obviously put a lot of time, and effort, and care into creating.
Look to see how far civilization has not only progressed since the beginning of history, but also how much of modern stuff is so sterile and manufactured and plain. In the process of progress, and much needed advancement to better civilization as a whole, we've discarded too often the beauty of unique pieces in favor of having everything be exactly the same, easy to make, and only functional.
#I went to a house museum today and it was absolutely stunning all the pieces within.#The wallpaper on the walls was a type where they made it a part of the wall itself#it made it textured and was inset into the plaster#then painted over in a gold colored paint. the detail on the doorframes and archways were simple but at the same time a necessary part#it elevated the whole room because it worked in conjunction with everything else it was surrounded by.#i want my future home to be unique like it was. something that spells out me and me alone#but at the same time can be appreciated for what it is#even if it's not everyone's own personal tastes.

ONE COOL PART is this could be my first fully colored comic piece w completely original dialogue???#where like. i didn't quit at any point of it. EXCEPT. skimping on the backgrounds. but again. more effort than i'm willing to put in#but i think it still counts bc my only real plan was to have the askr pillars/walls as framing/backdrops#ALSO the characterization... in the panel where lif walks into frame. it's SO fun to me#they both look at lif. but moe is Not subtle about it. looking directly at him. while alfonse side-eyes him.#and the most IMPORTANT detail. is that alfonse and lif are making the same kind of face. like 🤨#there is SO MUCH POTENTIAL. in alfonse and lif sharing facial expressions. in having the same knee-jerk reactions to things.#and it's espppp fun to figure out bc you're only working w half of lif's face. it's all in the eyes/brows and SOMETIMES!#SOMETIMES!!!! it's in the nose! in this illust he is more relaxed/resting so you don't see it here#but i'm TELLING you. adding some scrunch to the nose can add soooo much expression-wise#this took longer than i expected it to. also. which is why i'm so over it LMFAOO#but i do think the extra time was worth it... first run of the last panel was too lighthearted/jokey#capturing some conflict between moe/alfonse was the right choice. in how intensely this starts off (tonally)#AND! in showing how they do butt heads at times. in fact sometimes they clash REALLY badly!!!!#which is actually so huge bc i've wanted to capture this since the beginning. how they're so similar but also so opposite#that a lot of times! they understand each other deeply and cover each other's basis. #character here is asuka from branch-wdk53#art#zoom in for some details :3 especially the lineart and with her face#i had to retroactively add the little chess pieces bc i drew her hands and was like. ok. what the fuck is she doing#so something here about being able to control others persnaps... with the red shoes' power and all#also liking her updated hair :3 specifically with this ego it makes me think of her like not maintaining it totally#or letting it grow out since she wouldnt care about how shes perceived - like a red shoes possessed agent wouldnt#this is more corroded-y than just her with the ego but yknow. the themes etc#i could see it happening to her considering how often she gets fucked over by the world#wanting to take agency and just do whatever she likes for a time#the perspective here was all just fuck it we ball i literally used 0 references for this. sometimes i just Do That i guess lol#also! the lineart colors come from some just like. making it all a little bluer type stuff#but i also inverted the whole color layer and put it on top and was like. oh thats awesome#since i just selected everything outside of the lineart for the base coloring layer#it also went into the lineart and made some cool stuff with the parts that were or werent colored behind the lines#i will always find a way to have 20 tags on every piece of art i make o7
