Oki so here's my idea for Valentine in the Canon of DR3:

So she first appears in a cutscene that takes place shortly after Hunters fight, with the poor girl getting chased by zombies, only for Nick to save her and rescue her. Now there are actually 2 possible options with Val,

Bring her to a safe house and keep her there, nothing happens she's just kinda there as a survivor

Or

2. Keep her in your posse and bring her to Albert's boss fight, this is where things get interesting

During Albert's fight, if you have Valentine in your posse, once Albert's health is half depleted, a cutscene will occur where he brings up his daughter, to which Valentine runs to him, only for the drugs Albert's high tf out on to kick in, think she's a zombie, and his normal death occurs. Valentine will constantly bring up her papa from that point on, with even a family photo and crayon drawing being able to found around the Cold Storage.

Now Dylans boss fight is a bit more involved, with Val being Dylans only exception to the 'No other' policy, but Nick makes her stay outside with another survivor (or Dick) and Dylans fight starts as normal, but similar to Albert, once his HP is half depleted, Dylan will mention how he failed his family, and how he's a pathetic bitch for letting them go, but Nick, trying to help people, puts two and two together and brings Valentine to Dylan. The two reunite and this allows Nick to rescue the two hostages Dylan has, but Dylan ultimately tells Valentine to go with Nick and go be safe, giving her his hat as a memento. Dylan still dies during either via zombie or the bombing of the city, but yea-

So Valentine escapes with Nick and the others (no matter if she was in your posse or not), and it can be inferred she was either put into a foster home, or the better option, Rhonda and Gary took her in
