When I first started my @parsleyhealth program I detoxed from dairy and realized that dairy makes me a chronic throat-clearer *eh hem* and I no likey that. So I can up with this recipe using @foragerproject probiotic cashewgurt and fell hard for it. I love using @yogitea brewed chai to add a lil spice to my smoothie without adding sugars. I bet their hibiscus skin detox tea in a fruity smoothie would be AMAZING 😍 #TAYLORMADE . . . #yogitea #cashewyogurt #foragerproject #dairyfree #chai #smoothie #healthylifestyle #detox #parsleyhealth #holistichealthcoach #iinhealthcoach #nourishyourself #knowyourbody #dailydetox #organiclife #wellpreneur #raiseyourvibration #plantbased #vegan #eatmoreplants #forkyeah #dailyfoodfeed #eatrealfood #wellnessblogger (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrgNCMonXnS/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1urxm75r0qyl7

@drtiffanylester from @parsleyhealth taught us about self care and @ashley_neese taught us about breath work. Luckily I was sitting next to @lenacorwin and @arielgordonjewelry who didn’t seem to mind that I kept moving my legs back and forth bc my feet fell asleep 😂 (at AtmySphere) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1krIsuh2eQ/?igshid=1u1x9lflx4zt0

Dr. Robin Berzin, functional medicine concierge practices, and the marketing of medical pseudoscience
Dr. Robin Berzin, functional medicine concierge practices, and the marketing of medical pseudoscience
I’ve written a fair amount about “functional medicine.” After all, the Cleveland Clinic has embraced it, hiring one of the godfathers of functional medicine, Mark Hyman, in 2014 to set up a clinic. Unfortunately, reportedly that clinic has been wildly successful, and the Cleveland Clinic has been good at sneaking credulous laudatory storiesinto Ohio media about patients experiencing the “miracle”…

something @robinberzinmd said on this week’s episode really stuck with me. she said, social media is a recreational drug & when you use it all the time without boundaries that’s when things go sour. I thought this was so wise + she said a lot of other interesting things. she’s the founder of @parsleyhealth beyond Parsley, Dr. Robin is a down-to-earth delight, a stylish mom, and in this episode she gives wellness advice and shares what she’s learned about entrepreneurship, motherhood, and romantic relationships. @Regrann from @robinberzinmd - Are you stuck? Lost? Feeling like the universe is trying to teach you something? Maybe the patterns and habits you're living each day aren't serving your evolution. Maybe the friction you're feeling is your desire to change. If you're scared go toward that feeling - follow the butterflies! as San Francisco Parsley health coach @sammyzel said so well today in our patient visit @parsleyhealth. You have to get there yourself but maybe you need a guide. . If your body isn't healing maybe your life has to change gears. You maybe just need to get out of the way. - (at Middleboro, Massachusetts)

So many of you have asked what’s going on with my website! For the next few weeks TaylorErica.com will be under construction for renovations. Sadly this means my lovely recipe box will be temporarily unavailable. In order to make up for that I’ll be posting even more recipes on my IG stories and feed! Starting with this Wild Honey Dirty Chai Latte ☕️ Plus, if you’re looking for a healthy recipe that doesn’t taste like it, lmk what you’re craving and I’ll send you a #TAYLORMADE recipe that satisfies ❤️ My brain is an endless recipe box. • Wild Honey Dirty Chai Latte (serves 2) •1 1/2 cup @califiafarms vanilla almond milk •2 shots espresso (made w/ my moka stovetop espresso maker) •4 scoops @vitalproteins collagen •1 tbsp wild, local honey (wild + local honey helps with allergies) 2 chai tea bags soaked in 2 cups hot water overnight 1 pinch cinnamon 1 scoop @parsleyhealth glutagenics (rebuilds the gut lining from the SO common leaky gut) Before I go to bed I put two @yogitea black chai tea bags in an open jar w/ 2 c hot water and let it sit overnight. I use this “concentrate” in my smoothies for a spicy/ floral note and my morning lattes! Warm all the ingredients on the stovetop, then blend in a @vitamix or froth w/ a frother. Enjoy! . . . #inspo from @leefromamerica #collagen #latte #butfirstcoffee #healthcoach #lalife #wellnessblogger #foodblog #healthyrecipes #chai #cheflife #recipedeveloper (at West Hollywood, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqxesChHYne/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=4dsatbxaf1kz

Tumblr media
Parsley Health is an amazing new functional medicine practice in Gramercy, founded by Dr. Robin Berzin. And we're obsessed - and not just with the name! Situated in the WeWork office on 23rd street, this practice is unlike any doctor’s office you may have ever experienced: combining natural therapies with the latest technology to promote whole body wellness. And in the not-so-distant future, you’ll be able to sip on some blended greens or elixirs while you wait (stay tuned).

Parsley’s 5 Tips for Feeling Fab
1. Upgrade your hydration level: Start every morning with a glass of warm water with fresh lemon juice to quench your body’s thirst and promote healthy digestion. You can also add Himalayan sea salt to help feed your adrenals and keep your cells hydrated.
2. Make DIY Spicy Carrot Coconut Soup. There’s nothing more comforting than a creamy soup this time of year. Make it healthy by pureeing roasted carrots, ginger, and green apple; add some fresh unsweetened coconut milk and you’ve got some heaven in a bowl.
3. Morning meditation in bed: Before you get out of bed spend 2-3 minutes thinking positive thoughts about the day ahead, set your intentions for what you’d like to accomplish, so you feel ready to take on anything. It’s the perfect way to make sure you get out of bed on the right foot.
4. Make fitness an adventure. Switch up your workout routine and find a class that makes sweating super fun. At Parsley we send our members on fitness adventures around the city; you can join us or create your own fitness tour.
5. Treat yourself. Nope, not to a sweet treat, but to some self-love. Book a massage; splurge on an acupuncture session; buy your favorite essential oils. Something that declares your health is a priority.

Do you consider yourself an “early bird” or a “night owl”? Your peak performance hours are actually pretty complex and depend on your chronotype — your own personal biological clock that controls your body's rhythms. Broken down into four categories (🐻🦁🐬🐺), your chronotype indicates when to sleep based on your internal clock. Knowing your chronotype may also help you understand how to synchronize your clock with your daily activities and duties — like eating, exercising, working, and socializing. • • 🐻 Most people have a bear chronotype. This means that they typically rise with the sun in the morning and prepare for rest once it gets dark outside. • • 🐺 Wolf chronotypes tend to have a difficult time waking up in the morning and feel more energetic around noon time. They typically experience peak performance later in the afternoon and into the evenings — after most people have tapped out for the day. • • 🐬 If you have trouble following any sleep schedule, then you may have a dolphin chronotype. People with this chronotype often have trouble sleeping due to various disturbances, such as light or noise. • • 🦁 The lion chronotype is essentially the “early bird”. People with this chronotype typically wake up very early in the morning and are most productive until mid- day. • • Which chronotype are you? Tell us in the comments below! 🐬🐺🐻🦁 • • 📸: @parsleyhealth https://www.instagram.com/p/CIg3E1-jX8d/?igshid=dp1mhp5t849w

Sunlight first thing in the morning will also help give your circadian rhythm an extra boost — raising your body temperature, increasing your alertness, as well as improving your cognition and mood. 😉 | 📸 | @parsleyhealth https://www.instagram.com/p/CDjM0eUjG7v/?igshid=eyysr5ht4gbg

A great reminder from @parsleyhealth: vitamin D has many beneficial effects of on immune function, particularly in the context of human immunology. • • Vitamin D may come from three potential sources: the sun, nutritional sources, and supplements. Note that in humans, vitamin D is mainly synthesized in the skin after exposure to UVB whereas only a minor part is derived from dietary sources (@nihgov). • • Many studies have shown that vitamin D exposure helps suppress proinflammatory cells and modulate the innate and adaptive immune responses in the body. Vitamin D deficiency can make you more susceptible to autoimmunity and infection. • • The key takeaway: if you can, go outside for at least 20-30 minutes each day so that your body can get a healthy dose of vitamin D. Yes, we should all be social distancing right now, AND we should all be doing what we can to keep our immune systems strong and healthy. • • In addition to dosing yourself with vitamin D, exposure to sunlight will also help regulate your circadian rhythm so that you can sleep better at night time. With the current public health and economy concerns right now, it would be entirely understandable if you are feeling anxious. Getting some sunlight during the day (or eating vitamin d-rich foods) is a simple, yet effective step that you can take to feel even just a little bit better. And your immune system will thank you! • • 📸: @parsleyhealth https://www.instagram.com/p/B-iU16Rjtos/?igshid=1cbag7dpq0csy
