what if corrupted!nightmare and fresh both hate each other cuz they're parasites with pretty big needs energy/food-wise, causing competition for victims. parasites WILL eat each other given the chance if there's a limited food source, and there is a whole ass group actively chasing them away from their prey and causing scarcity...
basically, what im saying is: fresh or nightmare would, if given the chance, eat each other to eliminate competition for food. they just actively avoid each other because neither is sure who will win.
